I dag har jeg spist et glas solbærmarmelade med en plastikgaffel. Fandt begge dele her i kælderen. Gaffel og marmelade. Min mor skrev godnat på en sms. Har ikke talt med nogen hele dagen udover da jeg vred hund ud af min fars hænder. “Han er mit livs kærlighed og sådan skal du ikke behandle ham!” tror jeg at jeg fik sagt. Som det eneste. Selvom min far sagde en masse. Råbte en masse. Og mens jeg gik ned af trappen til mit kælder-læ med favnen fuld af højelsket pels-væsen, blev min far så vred at han stormede ud og lod hoveddøren smække bag sig. Det er flere timer siden. Jeg har ligget og set en hel serie med lydstyren 1 tak fra at være stilhed. Min krop er øm. Fordi jeg undervejs i 8 lange episoder, ogs�� har været klar til at lade som om jeg sov… hvis min far nu skulle komme på den idé at opsøge mig. Søvn som ammunition. Skjold. Jeg ved ikke hvad der skal ske i morgen eller hvem der er hvor… men jeg har… Så. Meget. Angst. Min teori er vitterligt, at den eneste grund til at min far ikke har skældt mig ud endnu, er fordi han er bange for, at jeg så siger nej til at passe hund og hund… og kat… i efterårsferien. Han skal bruge mig. Meanwhile ligger jeg hernede i kælderen og tør ikke gå ovenpå. Hvordan overlevede jeg at være hjemmeboende i mine teenageår!? Fatter det ikke. Er stadig sulten, men det er ikke worth it at finde mad. Så skal jeg udenfor i haven for at se om der er lys i stuen. Og hvis der er mørkt i stuen tør jeg godt gå ovenpå. I køkkenet. Men hvis der er lys i stuen tør jeg ikke. For så er det min far. For min mor har jo allerede skrevet godnat. Og jeg gider ikke sige undskyld én gang til. Jeg kan ikke blive ved med at få bekræftet at underdanighed er tryghed, når det er en kæmpe selvmodsigelse. Falsk tryghed. Væmmes. Jeg tør ikke gå udenfor. For det larmer. Og så er jeg bange for, at han ved at jeg også er vågen. Mens alle andre sover. Det kan jeg slet slet ikke overskue. Så hellere falde i søvn sulten.

I used to live tweet Eurovision. But Twitter is now an inhospitable right wing wasteland. So I'll live Tumble it instead.
For context - I try to hide from as many songs and performances as I can so that the show itself is more fun. I also enjoy some wonderful continental beers. This is almost as important.
Prelude: Gaffel Kölsch and The One Show. The Wan Show as it is also known- fluff of no substance whatsoever. Kölsch - which can only be made in Cologne - is a lager-adjacent style. Gaffel is one of my favourites (the Gaffel beerhouse right outside the Kolner Dom is glorious) but I've hardly ever had it outside of Germany, so this is a treat.

MAKKE (c. 1390)
Time for a peasant-style, medieval, midweek dish, because I'm no royal, and this is probably closer to what I'd be eating if I actually did go back in time. The historical dish from Tasting History I tried this past Thursday evening after work was Makke, a medieval peasant-style dish from England. While we don't know for sure that peasants ate this, because the recipe, c. 1390, is also sourced from the Forme of Cury (recipes used to feed the court of Richard II of England), it is one of the few dishes therein that doesn't use expensive herbs or spices and contains only a few easily-accessible ingredients for the average peasant. My experience making it:
I made a change or two from the modern recipe below: I used white gigante/corona beans (Weiße Riesenbohnen, where I live) instead of fava or broad beans, because I couldn't find fava or broad beans readily, and the white beans would hopefully end up white, like the original recipe describes. Max mentions that the red wine listed in the original recipe would likely not have been used by peasants, as beer was closer to hand, so I also decided to use beer instead of red wine - specifically Gaffel Wiess. Gaffel Wiess is a top-fermented beer from the Cologne region of Germany; it is light, unfiltered, and naturally cloudy, much how I imagine a peasant's beer might be due to lack of modern filtration equipment. Until the mid-20th century, Wiess was the main drink of the people of Cologne, the forefather of the modern and popular Kölsch beer.
The process of making Makke was marvelously simple, making it perfect for a quick midweek meal. The recipe took me only 20 minutes (or less!) to make. Like Max mentioned, I added only half a cup of beer to the mashed beans at first, and added more until it was more of the consistency I was after - similar to mashed potatoes. I also needed to mix in a decent amount of salt in order to add a bit of flavour to the mixture (no fancy royal herbs allowed!). The onions fried up perfectly and added a much-needed colour dimension to the plain-looking dish. I was content that despite using a different type of bean, my Makke looked nearly identical to Max’s!
My experience tasting it:
Serving the Makke forth along with a garden salad, a bit of bread and butter, and the rest of the Gaffel Wiess beer, my husband and I tried the first bite with a bit of the onion, and we were quite happy with the flavour! I'm not sure if it was the mashed consistency (which reminded me of my favourite dish, mashed potatoes) or the crisp and sweet onions, but this dish was easy to inhale and spoon down pretty quick. Makke is in no way out of place in a modern diet, in my opinion. Sure, after a couple spoonfuls I may have added a little black pepper to give it some more bite, but the foundation of this dish is good. I will definitely make this dish again, although perhaps with the powers of a modern pantry, including all of the delightful herbs and spices that only a 16th century royal would have possessed. The fact that this dish is tasty and quick to prepare means that it is a great addition to our midweek meal repertoire. How to make Makke Take drawen benes and seeth them well. Take them up of the water and cast them in a morter grynde them all to doust till thei be white as eny mylk. Chawf a little rede wyne, cast thereamong in the gryndyng, do therto salt, leshe it in disshes. Thenne take Oynouns and mynce them smale and seeth them in oile til they be al broun, and florissh the dishes therwith. And serve it forth.
Modern Recipe
Based on The Forme of Cury and Max Miller’s version in his Tasting History video.
Ingredients:
3 cups (450g) fava/broad beans (or any other bean)
1/2 cup - 1 cup (118 ml - 236 ml) red wine or ale
salt to taste
1 onion minced (white or yellow)
oil or butter for frying
water for boiling
Method:
Wash and boil the beans over a medium heat until soft.
Remove the beans from the water and mash them until smooth.
Warm the wine or ale over a low heat and mix with the beans. Start with 1/2 cup and add more to achieve desired consistency.
Mix in salt to bean mixture to taste.
Place a large pan over medium heat and add the butter or oil.
Add the minced onion and fry until golden brown, about 7-10 minutes.
When onions looking sufficiently brown, garnish onions on top of the beans.
Serve it forth.

en mærkelig ting men om ikke andet noget der fungerer for mig. i mine psykoser bøvler jeg med stemmer og høje lyde inde i mit hovede. en af stemmerne råber TUN og jeg krymper sammen af den høje lyd inde i mit hovede og zoner ud i mange minutter og er på renden til at kaste op af det ubehag netop den lyd. jeg hører lyden af en gaffel der skraber mod bunden af en tom dåse tun. 
mit realitetstjek er så altså at tænke på tun , for når jeg ikke er i psykosen hører jeg ikke lyden , det er bare en tanke. samt der ikke er nogen der råber det ved mit højre øre. syko strategi men det funger sku for mig .

Landlov på Anholt - dag 3

Dørken - en ægte havneknepje, som har åbent til festen er forbi og som er finansieret gennem et crowdlending-projekt.
Anholt var besat af englængerne fra 1809 til 1814 - rakkerpak!- og i 1811 forsøgte en tapper dansk angrebsstyrke at generobre øen. Men en forræder havde advaret englænderne, og kombineret med dårlig ledelse blev danskerme nedkæmpet med 30 dræbte og 270 sårede. Vi har en tendens til at trække på skuldrene over fortidens lidelser. Men de menneskelige omkostninger ved Slaget på Anholt er sammenlignelige med vore tabstal i Afghanistan.
Der er et monument for de faldne midt på øen i Anholt by, som jeg vandret til. Jeg har med vilje efterladt mobilen på båden og uden mobilepay sparer det mig fra at købe 3 gamle sølvskeer til 10 kr. stykket ved en vejbod, en pose Anholt-kartofler til 25 kr, som jeg ville have taget med hjem samt en kop kaffe - jeg egentlig ikke behøver.
Det er en intersant vandretur rundt om øen - den er kuperet med vild og særegen natur, ikke som noget andet jeg kender. Det sidste stykke foregår hen over Nordbjerg - øens højderyg med en fantastisk udsigt - det giver bjergvandrings-fornemmelse.
Tilbage i havnen har jeg fået nye tyske naboer, et sødt ældre ægtepar fra Glücksburg. Vi taler godt sammen og jeg erfarer, at mandens firma faktisk har været hacket og at deres it-system har været totalt nedlagt af russiske kriminalle - rakkerpak!! - som krævede løsepenge, for at fjerne deres ransomware. Hvilket firmaet nægtede. De ville ikke lade sig afpresse af kriminalle banditter, og firmaet klare sig på eventyrlig vis igennem en livstruende krise uden af betale en eneste bitcoin. Det er der kommet en bog ud af "Hackerangriff im Autohaus".

Om aftenen står den på fin spisning med kniv og gaffel på sønnens arbejdsplads - Spiseriet. Efter tre dage med dåsemad og beskøjter spiser jeg nu fire retter inspireret af ejernes besøg på Kap Verde og ser solen gå ned over Kattegat. Klasse oplevelse og hele turen værd.
Bagefter går jeg i Dørken - en ægte havneknejpe ejet af den samme som har Anholt Gin og sidste år finansieret af 221 mennesker, der gennem et crowdlending-projekt hver har skudt 1.000 kroner i projektet. For en mand, der har skrevet "New Local Economy" er dette lige efter mig hoved. Jeg ser det sidste af fodboldkampen og drikker et par IPA sammen men min dreng, som har fået fri fra restauranten.

Næste morgen sejler jeg hjem igen - solen er lige stået op. En flok tejster flyver ind over båden - sorte fugle med hvide pletter på vingerne - det er første gang jeg ser dem. De lever langs kysterne i Nordatlanten og Ishavet men der er også en bestand her i Kattegat. De giver en fornemmelse af vild natur.
Da jeg er fri af Anholt sætter jeg sejl, får trimmet dem perfekt og sejler fem knob 45 grader op mod vinden hele vejen til Gilleleje.

För inte så länge sedan valde jag att sluta med Orlistat, som jag fått ordinerat för att gå ner i vikt. Jag pallade helt enkelt inte med de biverkningar som medicinen förde med sig. Den största biverkningen var att man fick springa på toaletten bokstavligen hela tiden för att göra “nummer två”. Ordningen i magen blev helt uppochnervänd och jag hade konstant diarré. Många gånger var diarrén sådan…

i started laughing and coughing. it wasn't to harsh just like i had hair down my throat and as if i saw something so hilarious i couldn't help but laugh. it wasn't long before it felt as if that hair was coming back to haunt me. when i did cough the thing back up it was floating red thing. like a mini red vampire squid. i resumed laughing. the red squid seemed to glow brighter as i did. it zoomed past me and i turned. i reached out to catch it and brought it near me. it was dead though..
it felt like jelly slipping past my fingers. i turned to the man who was yelling at me. he seemed confused. i flung the stuff at him and it landed on his face, sliding down slowly. it was fucking hilarious. i couldn't help but point and gaffel. out of the corner of my eye i saw Semas. i couldn't help but start giggling. he said i shouldn't stay up past my bedtime. should go to sleep like good child. wake up and do hard work. his voice was funny. he said he would eat me if i stayed up. eat me whole. eat my tiny hands and feet. i laughed again and hid behind my hands widening my fingers so my eyes shown through. he came closer and

Daily Drabbles for 2/23/24 - 2/29/24
2/23/24 Gorden jerked his hand back from the stove and shook his fingers as he winced in pain. He hadn't burned himself too badly though, so he quickly reached for the fork that he should have grabbed the first time he tried to flip his tortilla. Utensil in hand he easily flipped the tortilla over and carefully watched the pan. Gorden liked a little brown on his tortillas, but not so brown that they were crunchy. It was a fine line. When he felt he had pushed the tortilla as far as he could, he flipped it out onto a plate.
2/24/24 Giles surveyed the small farmhouse. It was all quite quaint. The little village, the sprawling farm, the white house on the hill. As opposite to the White City as one could get. Perhaps that was why she had picked this place. She certainly wasn't trying to hide. Giles suspected that was on purpose. An open invitation, or perhaps a dare. While she might not have been afraid of her old love coming after her, she really should have been more concerned about his enemies. Anyone who knew she existed could easily find her if they wanted. Like Giles, for instance.
2/25/24 Gus slumped in his chair and put up his feet on the metal table. He'd just finished his third cup of coffee and was getting tired of waiting. He'd been sitting at that outdoor cafe by the street for the better part of the morning keeping careful watch of absolutely nothing. Gus had never been good at stakeouts. Especially ones where the hope was that nothing would happen. Which Gus was pretty sure was a given at this point. There really was no need for him to keep such a close eye on things. He'd hear if anything happened anyway.
2/26/24 Gillian rolled her eyes at the dumb TV show she was watching. The characters were all outlandish and unbelievable. And they all somehow found themselves getting into increasingly dramatic situations. It was worse than several soap operas Gillian had seen. She had to groan at a particularly awkward delivery of some of the worst dialogue ever written. Gillian couldn't figure out who was even watching this show, it was so bad. There couldn't possibly be people out there who actually liked it. Gillian had watched through five whole seasons and had yet to find any redeeming qualities in the show.
2/27/24 Gel Pen should have killed his brother years ago. From the day he was born the little brat had been annoying. Following Gel Pen around everywhere, always bothering him. Always sucking up to their pathetic human mother. Gel Pen should have killed him as a child, but he hadn't, and then his little brother had gone off to that mountain looking for power and Gel Pen had mostly forgotten about him for years. Until he just happened to be passing by one day. On his way to another ridiculous scheme. And he acted like Gel Pen was the annoying one.
2/28/24 Gaffel sat and watched in silence. He was carefully tucked away out of sight, keeping track of everyone who passed by him. It was strange, the rush they were all in. They all thought it was a race. That whoever reached the top first would be the one to claim the wish. The Star would come when the Star would come, no matter who was at the top first. There would be bloody fighting all the way up the mountain and at the summit especially. The first to arrive would not be the winner, rather, it would be the last.
2/29/24 Gloria had lost her knitting needles again. She had spent the better part of the afternoon shuffling around the house looking for them. The tricky thing was she couldn't quite remember the last time she had used them. Gloria was sure it hadn't been that long ago though. She'd already checked all the couch cushions and behind the recliner in front of the TV. She'd also thoroughly checked the kitchen in case she'd set them down in there before making dinner. She'd done that before. Finally, Gloria found them in the bathroom of all places, tucked in with the magazines.

That's a hard question to answer admin 🤔. In the north of Germany ecxist a dialect that is almost the same like danish. Danish and this dialect have the same roots. There are words in danish and german that are the almost the same like gaffel ( danish), gabel (deutsch) means fork. In my oppnion danish is easy to learn when you are german.
One of my friends are from south germany. This coupl has likley the most culture difference. She just has another style, appereance, essence than dans. Her family is catholic. Her huseband and she have different traditions.
Men and women treated more the same than in Germany. The politic system is in danemark more social. But also less foreigner friendly than in Germany. For exampel you can buy as foreigner porperty in danmark when you have lived there more than 5 years or you are married or have children with a dan. In Germany you can buy porperty when you have enough money.

It does, anon! Thank you so much for sharing! 😃 And I absolutely share your opinion, about Danish being easier to learn when you already speak German. I love learning languages, so I studied German for quite a few years, so when I decided to learn Danish during the pandemic (for 3 semesters), I also thought the grammar was somewhat similar to German, and thus had a easier time understanding it. Although I must say that while written Danish is not complicated, spoken Danish is terrible, as some words aren’t exactly pronounced as they’re written… 😅 German is much more straightforward, in my opinion. 😊
