It is so crazy that like. All the main characters on this show have their chance to get out.

Vic has his chance to get on a bus with Graciella, to go and try and make a life for himself out in California. Oz had let him go, and it's not like even as kingpin that Oz's reach extends to the other side of the country.

Sofia could have walked away so many times—when Johnny hands her a plane ticket and Julian urges her to go for herself; when she comes to the realization that what she truly wants is to be free; after Oz escapes Monroe's with Francis and Sofia knows already she has shattered their relationship forever.

Rex offered Francis her chance. Rex offered, Rex was there that night, Rex might even have been willing to kill him anytime Francis asked until he died, and she never did

They could have folded and left the table and maybe had a happy ending, but they couldn't let go of their yearning for more, and in the end it cost them everything.

All the main characters, except Oz.

There is never a need for Oz to get out because no one but Oz is keeping him in. Every loss he suffers, every danger he barely survives, all of it is a direct consequence of his own damn actions, and it truly, truly feels like the reason he's so stuck in this path is because he cannot even conceive of being anything else, because he has systematically killed off everyone he could have become.

they are raised by their father milo blue who is a construction worker. gracie is closer with him than adam. milo didn't know that the twins were children of a goddess before they found out about the camp. he lives in new york.

when luke castellan left the camp adam wanted to go after him and the twins ran away from the camp to join him. they eventually found luke but truth of his actions was not what they expected. they returned to the camp after the battle of manhattan but were seen as traitors by many other campers. it was after this that their mother finally claimed them and it didn't help the situation.

their demigod powers include: sensing when someone is being disloyal, they can easily reason a situation to their own advantage. they're agile and have good basic combat skills, they can shadow travel SHORT trips

their weapons of choice are usually daggers.

Last movie: Oh my god, ok, last movie I watched in full was Barbie : a Fairy Secret. Highly recommend. I wanted to marry Princess Graciella when I first watched the movie. Ken should've been ME.

Last show: Masterchef. Specifically, I recommend season 3. I really enjoyed season 3 compared to the others bc I felt happier rooting for some of them. I went to season 4 and I literally didn't like any of them. Prayed on their downfall, even. Maybe I'm just a hater but whatever.

Currently watching: Wandavision. I never actually watched it when it initially came out. I'm halfway through it and it's probably the best thing Marvel's came out with in years (excluding Loki after I found out abt the selfcest plot. Totally weird.)

Currently reading: Black Butler. This is a massive red flag for me, I know, I get it. A lot of weirdos like it but I've been obssessed with it since I was 12 so please give me a pass. I'm not a proshipper, O!Ciel is actually my little baby brother. Actually held that boy in my arms as a baby.

Look, I know Barbie Fairy Secret tried to wrap it up all hunky dory, but I’m still not sure if I would want to continue being friends with someone who will exile me from my own fairy country and also threaten AND GO THROUGH WITH dishing out life imprisonment if I ever ticked her off.

Just got out of the new West Side Story, loved it obviously, clearly the same overall story but lemme say there are some things I absolutely LOVED in terms of changes:

1) Obviously, no brownface. The Puerto Ricans of the film are played by actual latino people (not necessarily all PR but at least not white).

2) Rita Moreno. Oh my God I knew I was gonna cry with Somewhere, but when it turned out to be *spoilers* her own solo song I can’t even tell you how much I lost it.

3) A real life transgender man playing Anybodys

4) Racism isn’t shied away from, but it’s also not played into so much in a tongue-in-cheek way like the original film or play. The Jets aren’t really portrayed as “bad” so much as the police, but it’s clear their racism and ethnocentrism is a bad thing and it’s portrayed as such. You can empathize with some of the Jets as people, but it more has to do with acknowledging the blatant racism of the time. Not an excuse obviously, but they are definitely more sympathetic than the cops. The racism is unequivocally BAD.

5) SPANISH BEING USED REGULARLY WITH NO SUBTITLES. I can’t explain how much I appreciated that. I love that English speaking audiences are not handheld. I’m someone who speaks some Spanish, enough to understand most of what was being said. But even the stuff I didn’t was all understandable in terms of context. But it really did a lot to demonstrate the way that language gaps can cause miscommunication and misunderstanding amongst people. And most importantly, it did not prioritize English-speaking white people as being the “correct” or sympathetic ones in the situation or the “right” language. Native Spanish-speaking language and culture simply existed in the film.

6) The fact that the other women at Valentina’s try to stand up for and protect Anita. That before this assault scene happened, which let’s be honest is one of the worst scenes of the play/movie, Graciella and whoever the other girl was (Velma?) tried to help and get the guys to leave Anita alone to the point of physically intervening before they got forced out of the establishment by the guys while screaming and yelling “no!”. Even Anybodys, who was treated as a woman by most people around him, said “leave” on his way out.

One of the sisters- either Chelsea/Kelly or maybe Skipper gets the book. The whole not doing well with friends and books being a getaway might work better with Skipper but no clue. Imma just refer to whoever it is as Skipper for now bc it's easy

Skipper gets ahold of the book, perhaps by stealing it like Bastian (main character of the book) does, but I can also see her accidentally taking it, but upon reaching school or maybe home, it calls to her and she locks herself away in the attic. She learns the story of Atreyu, perhaps another barbie character- one of her friends? A mirror of her friend/her- that's important in the book, but!!!

Thank you for this prompt, it was amazing. It let me explore what was supposed to be Gray's Big Death Scene, because originally I killed her off but have since decided fukkit—everyone lives happily ever after making babies in the bunkers😇 That said, welcome to Stream of Consciousness Hell, population: this shit.

How stupid are you? curdles on visible breath. And then nothing. She assumes she heard the gunshot—assumes she fell to the ground—she wasn't born there, after all, she didn't grow out of the sludged fall leaves like a spindly aspen—she isn't those maple shoots swaying in her darkening vision, and fuck if blood loss doesn't make you weird.

Holding her stomach, she rolls to the side. Dirt and worms escaping soaked ground stick to her—she's willing her lungs to work through that creaking as ribs crack and mouths scream. She tries to be angry because it was an insult—how stupid are you?—and if she isn't angry, and isn't fighting, then she's scared and weak and he'll be mad and

"Jacob!"

Gray sobs. It isn't the pain: it's the fading. Face in soil, she sobs, begging his name to be more than just something a dying animal cried in its last moments.

"Where are you?"

And then she's dead. And she hates that.

Collapsed lung full of blood, buckshot that's not all out yet, and she can bank on some vicious infection: that's the good news. The better news is that she made it to Saint Francis at all, brought in by some of their soldiers.

The middling news is that her jacket's a bust. She really liked that one, too: pink and purple patches clashing with the camo, but you can't serve your purpose if you ain't cute.

And the bad news? Jacob wants to know who.

There's tubes in her—in lung and veins. Open windows welcome the breeze. 

"Who did this to you?" Jacob asks.

Standing beside their bed, arms across his chest, he doesn't get angry, Mister Seen-It-All. Something about his eyes, though—oh, he's really up there: high on some war horse because Gracie got a boo-boo. Well, like, a few dozen of them, but whatever, that's how shotgun blasts work. Either way, Jacob Seed doesn't get angry, he gets this: jaw squared, eyes steeled, and righteous. He's gonna make someone realize they're weak.

How stupid are you?

Gray just looks away.

"It doesn't matter," Gray answers quietly with a sticky throat. "Let it go, babe, it doesn't—"

"Yes, it does." 

Dragging a metal chair over, he sits, elbows on knees.

"Who did this to you?"

A sob tightens her chest first, which isn't fair—she already has a lot going on there, where she wheezes and rattles. Spotting the anguish, Jacob asks "what did they do to you?" which is sweet—it's sweet how much strength he assumes of her. 

"Nothing, it's…" 

Huffing, Gray winces. Leaning back into the pillow, she winces again. Her injuries, bruises and bullet holes, have her skin tight. She can't move without feeling stretched by her stitches; she can't look any place for long before Jacob's presence calls her and repels her for the same reason. Love. She wants to find comfort, there, in sky blues, but she's got to be harder.

So she is.

"Who shot you, Graciella?" Jacob says.

"No one. Everyone." With a resolute expression, Gray clarifies, "it could have been anyone, Jacob. That's my point. I'm on everyone's shit-list, I guess. And I missed it happen."

Three years back, if you'd've asked Gray to list the locals she knew, she would have thrown the phone book at you. She'd considered town meetings a family reunion. Where her parents had never cared, the county stepped up—she'd always felt she had, like, five moms, eight dads; she was in with everyone. 

Then she met Jacob. And apparently there really were some men that you shouldn't bring home to the parents.

"Are you going to sit there and tell me you are whining about the cowards of this county no longer liking you?" Jacob frowns, brow bent, arms crossing. "Because strength? Survival? Purpose? It doesn't come down to a popularity contest. Popularity is for those who need the herd. It is for those who are too weak to stand on their own." 

Getting to his feet, Jacob cups her jaw. His fingers dig too much. "You are not weak. Stop acting like it. You're better than this."

And he walks to a table behind him.

"Oh my God. Oh my God." Bursting out with laughing, shaking for both the agony and the hi-lar-ity of it, any tears streaming down Gray's cheeks are at his expense, now, and they are certainly not sad.

"Oh, that is good," she snickers as Jacob's back remains facing her. "You were seriously so worried, weren't you? I mean really. Me? Weak? Try that again when I'm on my feet. Or are you afraid of a fair fight?" 

"Who shot you?" he asks again.

Still Gray won't say.

Jacob's hands are on the table. They hurl it so fast that the only thing left is the echoing cacophony of metal clanging across dirty tile flooring. Scalpels, scissors, knives—medical equipment from her surgery, and some of it there just for fun. A lock-box smashes to the ground; coffee canteen, too. Papers, maps, and jesus christ. 

"Is it a fair fight you're worried about? You're lucky I don't give you to the wolves." Turning to her, scowling, Jacob points towards the window. "Protecting those feeble, spineless nothings out there demonstrates to me that you are just as weak as they are. And you know what we do to the weak. What I do to the weak."

"'Protecting'?"

"Yes." 

Gray grips the bedsheets. There's few things that scare her—that soften her voice, smooth her features, and make her unwilling to punch back. 

Jacob isn't one of them. He should be. He's not. Flipping the table, going primal, it looks good on him. It reminds Gray that he's alive. Sometimes his confidence comes off as arrogance, but mostly it leans towards torpor. He's slow and empty for all he's seen: Jacob doesn't rile because what's the point? His crap kismet fueled by Darwinism keeps him cool—all this was set to play out like the Romans or whoever else he can rattle off about, so rarely does Jacob get angry. Feral, maybe—reaching for where he feels something, he has to dig so deep that what crawls back is canine, and predatory, but it's not angry. It's hungry.

No, Gray has never been afraid of him. Afraid of disappointing him, however? Her knees buckle and she's not even standing.

"I'm not telling you who shot me because I'm bringing them in, not you," Gray says, trading his glare for her own. "If I tell you, apparently you'll just flip tables at them. But I want to see her run the trials with a pound of buckshot in her stomach. If she comes out the other side? We'll make friendship bracelets, probably."

Jacob's mood shifts. "They shot you," he reminds.

Gray snorts. "Yeah, and who cares? It's just pain." 

Pride. That's it. It puffs him up. As his chest expands and shoulders square, she can't see any way to describe it but washing. Pride washes away any doubt—it cleans him down to that smile. She's seen Jacob do this with his soldiers: where he abhors weakness and lauds strength, sometimes the latter's got him looking like a happy den-mother. 

And with her… Well, she can still remember the first time. His head tilts back slightly, eyeing Gray around a smirk. She swirls and dizzies in her mind and body—damn, but he's gorgeous. With the world so soft, anything that's otherwise impresses Jacob, and it's why his approval gets to be like a fucking drug: rise to his expectations, and you've got the fortitude of a God.

She feels like that. A god. Powerful; perfect. 

Jacob's ire has passed. He bitches about betrayals and ninth gates of Hell a lot, so the fact Gray isn't guilty of his assumed trespasses has him a lot less surly.

Jacob snorts, shaking his head. "Oh, Jesus Christ."

Gray leans deeper into her cool, plump pillow. "Yeah! He had extra holes, too!"

Chuckling, Jacob sits on the side of the bed. They look at each other across space filled with a pointed silence. His big, wide hand touches her. Caresses her. Needs her? Jacob's hand slides from her cheek to her neck to her back, pulling her close, until both arms are around her, and Gray smells him as they press close—she's pretty sure he's at day five of his bathing rotation, meaning she can smell five days of living on him. Sweat from drills, deodorant slapped on on day two, wood smoke and engine oil and gun grease and it's not like she can actually smell dinner from the night before, okay? But that salty sting in her nose has her thinking about the can of cold porked beans they shared, and how she went to bed after, and he went to go check in with the next Bliss shipment details out to the lodge, and so Gray fell asleep alone, and

"Jacob."

Gray turns, dragging her lips across his neck. Jacob looks into her eyes. She thinks he's gorgeous.

"Love you," she says. 

"Don't you ever leave me again," Jacob replies, hand tightening in her hair. 

And that is how Gray learns she died. For two minutes.

questions about the world of Fairy Secret as promised:

1. Is Gloss Angeles the only fairy city-state? Are there others? Do we have Gloss Vegas somewhere out there? If the fairies have existed for any significant length of time, surely some at some point would’ve broken off to make their own city-state for one reason or another, right?

2. For that matter, I have questions about Gloss Angeles’s name. It’s clearly a pun on Los Angeles which implies the fairy world reflects the human one or vice versa to a degree. So... which reflects which, is it the fairy world being influenced by the human one? Did a fairy in the human world yoink Los Angeles’s name for their city-state? it’s unlikely it’s some version of the other way around, because of the memory erasure and Los Angeles’s name is based in the language of this world, it means “the angels” in Spanish.

3. I know most major Barbie characters tend to be young, but exactly how young is Graciella? On top of that, how recently did she ascend the throne? I ask because part of the reason for the misunderstanding between Carrie, Taylor, and Graciella was because Graciella became busier with royal duties and had less free time. That implies for some reason Graciella’s workload became heavier, which could be due to her ascending the throne or some sort of event in Gloss Angeles that would demand more of her attention. Also if Graciella is young I’m more willing to be understanding of her lack of emotional maturity shown throughout the movie, such as banishing Carrie and Taylor without even trying to talk to them first. Still doesn’t make her a great ruler though.

4. Okay so there’s clearly different types or races or subtypes of fairies, and each subtype is named after what they seem to derive their source of magic from (ex. Graciella being a Passion Fairy --> her magic grows more powerful with her emotions, Taylor being a Shoe Fairy --> her magic grows more powerful depending on how stylish her shoes are, Carrie being a Purse Fairy --> idk her magic wasn’t really explained in any capacity she just seems to have a pocket storage dimension in her purse). Are fairies, like, born like that or do they choose what they specialize in? Do they have some sort of grace period before they discover their specialty or is it like the Disney Fairies, do they just “know” what their specialization is right away? Also what other types of fairies are there?

5. Since finding things like clothes and such “fabulous” is subjective, does the magic boost Taylor’s shoes give her depend on how fabulous SHE finds her shoes or how fabulous others around her find her shoes? For that matter what other kinds of magic can Taylor do as a shoe fairy? She kinda didn’t get a chance to show off much, especially past the beginning of the movie.

6. Also what other kinds of magic can Carrie do? Her main thing seems to be just bottomless storage, but neither her nor Taylor got to flex much. Does her belt give her a magic boost too, like...?

7. The naming and nature of “Fury Spheres” implies that different emotions change Graciella’s magic, so what does her casting a sad spell look like? Or a happy one, etc? Were the chains of love Ken was wrapped in created by her, was that like made from her “love” for him hence why they shattered when she was cured?

8. How available is the “love potion” that sets the plot in motion? Roxelle was familiar with it, enough so that she apparently encountered it enough in her days of matchmaking to just have the antidote on hand and have knowledge of how the potion worked. Unfortunately that implies its probably not as tightly regulated/as inaccessible as it should be, considering what a huge violation it is to poison someone with a love potion.

9. How does the whole forgetting about the existence of fairies and Gloss Angeles work exactly? Is it something Graciella can control or is it just a byproduct of humans leaving the realm? Or is it both?

10. What’s the whole deal with Roxelle in the first place? Graciella for some reason can’t or isn’t allowed to close Roxelle’s personal portal, implying Roxelle is someone of significant importance or status, but its never elaborated on. Roxelle is also apparently the “oldest and wisest fairy in the human world” which brings up the question of if fairies age at a different rate than humans? That or there’s not a lot of old fairies living in the human world.

11. Whats the appeal of the human world for fairies? What does it have that they don’t? Do they view it similarly to moving/visiting a different country? They clearly have a lot of investment in the human world, considering some of them live there and there’s a dedicated network of secret fairy fast-transports, so what makes the human world worth so much effort to them? They seemingly have better technology than humans as well as magic so I’m sort of lost. Is it just entertainment value, the novelty and such? Or is it just where Gloss Angeles banishes fairies?

12. Whats the average visiting rate for humans to Gloss Angeles? The existence of Wings and Things implies its high enough to justify opening an entire store dedicated to outfitting humans with wings. Furthermore, the relationship between the human shopkeeper and her fairy husband as well as the preestablished law stating if a human marries a fairy they have to stay in Gloss Angeles reinforces this with evidence of existing and past human/fairy relationships that would prompt the law in the first place. This postulated high rate of visitation would seem to run counter-productive to the fairy agenda of staying secret, though I guess with memory wiping magic that isn’t as big of an issue...

13. Can humans use magic to some degree too and/or become fairies? Because Barbie and Raquelle are human-born, but they both channeled some form of magic through forgiving each other that granted them both new dresses and their own wings. Do they count as fairies now too, or some sort of hybrid? Can this happen to any human in Gloss Angeles?

14. What do fairies do when humans see too much and the fairy handbook excuses don’t work? Do they have a memory wiping thing as a backup or do they like drag the person to Gloss Angeles and back so they forget?

MALLEUS AS PRINCESS GRACIELLA !! Sebek being Raquelle and MC being barbie since they start off with a rough relationship but during the end they make up for it and i'd find it very cute. idk who'd be crystal, though.
