Bwhahaha my Duolingo plus family subscription expired (don't judge me I got it before they decided human translators and the actual entire community could be replaced with badly-trained predictive-text-on-steroids) and I chose not to renew it (for aforementioned issues, which i wrote about in my 1 star playstore review)

mom, an avid Duolingo user, was like "the super is gone 😭 the ads are back 🤮"

I explained about the mass firing and she immediately said "well we're definitely not renewing the subscription then. I shall ignore the ads with relish"

and I was like "I'll do you one better" and through the power of piracy got us both a cracked version of the app with full super duolinguo unlocked, because I don't want those pieces of shit getting even $0.000001 ad revenue and also i dont wanna watch ads

As someone who played episode 1:

I'm disappointed of Moonvale. All AI art. Pay to win. No real life actors. It looks cheap and it makes me sad. I already knew that Moonvale wouldn't be able to hold a candle to Duskwood but this? Hell nah. I'm disappointed. Pay to win... Thanks for nothing Everbyte 👌🏻 Duskwood was made with way more love.

Well, as for me, I was convinced they can do another game with the exact same love they used in duskwood. I was sure they can even beat it. Without looking at the Duskwood side story. I was sure they can make another story just as amazing as Duskwood.

Sadly, they took some sad ways, this time. And for me, the worst things are definitely using AI art, everyone who know at least a tiny bit about AI art should know where it comes from and why it's bad. And especially after Everbyte complained back then about the Duskwood APK's mods etc, their game was stolen by other, given into the world for free. And that was wrong. Absolutely. But now.. Using AI art.. I don't know but I don't really see many differences there. And especially as programmers etc. they should know why using AI is wrong.

And the second bad thing... The payment thing. This was really just another cherry on top. I was so sad that I paid so much money to be able to see everything, and because I want to support Everbyte, and then I was sitting there. With nothing. After giving my money. And then the rest... Having to buy everything in order to be able to keep playing. Money Maschine. But it wasn't only about money. Of course I'm mad I paid so much and still was sitting there and had to pay more (I didn't) so I can keep playing. But they truly forgot about our emotions with this. Because duskwood wasn't just a game. It was home. It was hope. It was love. It was a community. And with what they did, it hurted. The money thing is bothering, because it was a bit. And in the end, it just felt like they had used our love for Duskwood, for their games, for money.

I want to say, of course they have to earn money. It's their job. And I even understand the sum for the "premium package", I would have paid it. But I think they could have found better ways to do that. Much better ways. I would even have paid more if that means they get the money they need. But how it ended up...

And I also don't care about real life actors. I mean, completely without would be a bit sad for me as well, but as long as the game is good, I don’t care. They should have used stock photos like they did in duskwood. It never bothered me. Never. It would not have bothered me if the characters in duskwood were nothing but stock photos. Jake was. Alan was. Even Hannah. And they changed it in the last episode. They could have done that as well. When they find someone in the middle of the game? Perfectly fine for me. It never bothered me that Hannah suddenly looked different. I remember how hyped we all were when we saw that Hannah got an actor. It was happiness. But before? No one of us was bothered by it. But using AI for it?...

I like the general design it looks like good wonderful quality to me. The messager. The pictures. And then these AI pictures. They destroyed it for me. Especially this huge bunch of pictures for our profile picture.

I really understand the resentment about most of it, and I can even understand some of Everbyte’s decisions. But not pay to win and also absolutely not AI art...

I'm really sorry it disappointed you so much, Anon. We all were so excited. It's so sad when you waited so long but find something that was so unexpected and not understandable.. It's absolutely frustrating. 🫂

what mod version do you use for the game…and how can i download it 😭😭

apologies in advance, this is gonna be disappointing 😭🫠

i modded my game a long time ago, using an android. i downloaded a modded apk (as for what site i got it from, i dont remember, probably modyolo) and then saved my game progress with facebook. then i used that facebook login to play on ios (so basically i have modded gems, but i transferred my progress to the unmodded game from the app store)

unfortunately it’s gotten way more difficult . that’s partly because FB removed the facebook login option a few months ago (they claim that it’s due to technical issues, but tbh i think they’re trying to crack down on modding)

i was gonna link to the r/loveislandthegametwo post with all the mod guides, until i saw their newest pinned post

so i looked around and i’ve seen a few people on both LITG subs say that they’re having issues with the mods themselves, as in, they can’t even open the app . i don’t know what’s up, but i'm unable to test any APKs myself at the moment

but if you use ios & have a computer, there's a method someone posted about here

i'll keep my eyes peeled for any new information 😭

the fun thing is that most of the last few hours were a total waste of time, i just basically found another resource i could get the apks from through my wandering around in the emulator. completely unrelated. idk if i'll be able to keep completely day one up to date with this, but i'll be able to stick closer than i could before! so in the end i got what i wanted. but also i can play taiwan cotc now and generally run an android app emulator and possibly use that for things, idk lol. i did have fun. i have a taiwan alt now whee (idk how much i'll use it but hey! it's there)

(i will start getting sheets up on spriter's resource and queued for mod approval probably in next couple hours, back is killing me now and i need to lie down for a little bit)

I hope you’re doing well too and happy almost s6 release day!

I was going to wait until tomorrow and see what my app does in terms of updating before I said anything but here’s what I know so far:

Modyolo is on like v17 something of their APK and the LITG is on v21 I think. So basically, people are struggling to get their APK off the computer and sync it to a normal app on their phone. This should be fixed once the s6 version of the APK goes live and then everything should work as explained in the mod guides.

But if you’re like me (you downloaded the modded app and then moved the unlimited gems save over using the cloud onto a normal app) then I believe it will update with s6 as its only the save data that’s been modded and not the app! I hope you’re still with me 😅

So basically, i think if you’re playing on a normal app from the App Store you’ll be fine and it’ll update tomorrow. If the app you play on is directly from a mod site then it’ll be frozen and you’ll have to wait for them to update it on that site!

you gotta remove it and download the original (if available in your country i know i never got wrapped until spotify came to my country in 2020) otherwise you can't get it

if it's available then remove the mod, download the original, check your wrapped and then remove the original and reinstall the mod

my 2021 wrapped eventually showed up in the apk though so idk if i should make the effort to delete the apk download the og delete it again later 😵‍💫

I recently got back into a phone game I played like 8 or 9 years ago. (Because I learned how to use lucky patcher and can now mod my own apks)

It was fun for the past week. Being all nostalgic while playing a fairly mindless game.

Today I login and everyone is angry at me because someone else did some things. I still don't really understand what it was they did or why everyone is upset about it. But I know that like 6 people are calling me a troll and they have made the subreddit of the game angry at me too.

So... I guess I am done with that trip down memory lane because I don't think I want to wade through whatever toxic sludge they all just poured all over my experience with the game.

yes, because the program got shut down today, (and because the OG app is an online only game) there’s no longer a way to get the app to work . whether it’s an APK or a pre-update version from the app store, modded or unmodded

it will just fail to load, then get stuck on the Fusebox logo screen :-(
