I've changed the way that this is set up by using google drive to outsource each section bc my post was breaking, this new setup makes it easier to edit and of course the post i'm using can continue to be used without breaking.

The hyperlinks attached to the titles are generally the "first chapter" or "part" for the AU or the source for the information about the AU. some of them don't have a lot of info so they're just linked to their original posts, but the big ones have larger sources on google drive!

Hello! Just out of curiousity (and give you a palate cleanser from GoM Therapy talk), what are the Junior Quartet's thoughts on Z!Mo Xuanyu post-canon? I know that Jin Ling is probably conflicted, but what about Lan Sizhui, Lan Jingyi, and Ouyang Zizhen? Also, what are Best Boi Wen Ning's thoughts on this whole matter?

the juniors (barring jin ling) meet mo xuanyu after the ritual. so it's only jin ling that has any meaningful changes to his canonical relationship (which we don't know much of) w mo xuanyu.

z!mo xuanyu was probably able to connect with jin ling much easier. which makes the whole getting kicked out debacle/wwx download into mxy's body worse for jin ling. z!mxy would prob ask for a swap to deal w jin ling whenever, but that'd contribute to jin ling thinking that z!mxy+wwx went off the deep end.

i don't think lan sizhui's opinion changes that much. z!mxy doesn't think it his place to interact with lsz, which wwx would find weird ("he's the best junior! the sweetest one!" even before a-yuan reveal) but *shrugs*

no zyx incarnation is complete without snark, so the off times that ljy catches unadulterated z!mxy commentary is precious. and wwx is a riot to him, too. + less of wwx's trolling teaching when things are serious serious, z!mxy can't help but chime in. opinion is that senior mo is probably some sort of non-possessed-possessed, but zidian didn't whip him out so he's... safe?

no changes to ouyang zizhen. senior mo is a weirdo. but nice, sometimes funny and trolly, and good at teaching.

i think that canonically mxy helped out with the fierce corpse studies in jinlingtai. idk how complicit he was, but z!mxy is complicit enough that being around wen ning is difficult. he did expect to die for wwx's life, after all - didn't expect to stick around. wen ning personally doesn't like z!mxy for his former misdeeds (regardless of how coerced or whatever), but holds his tongue for wwx's sake and how z!mxy is while sharing a body.

remember when i was working on MXY/WWX for GOM? LMAO i put this off for a while. probably rightfully- it's a struggle to finish things in time for my chapter upload if i work on other things.

i have been thinking about working on this for a while, every time i look at the mxy concept sketches i did, but i didn't do it until tonight when i was streaming and thinking of what to do next since i didn't know which drawing to do for GOM yet this chapter [i've not written enough of it and i don't wanna draw any of the current stuff]

but anyway, the three stages of WWX post resurrection in GOM! i'll explain the thought process/details of his character below! read more line just to shorten this post length. See more GOM or other mdzs projects in my master post!

-he's a bit more feminine in MXY's body -his hair is a bit less messy [i miss you, random fly aways...] -he's of course a bit shorter like canon -his eye shape is more like my mxy sketches [so a bit sharper and more almond-like with some slightly more pronounced lashes] -he continues to wear the same earrings MXY did as well to prevent suspicion -He styles his hair in a halfup-halfdown to differentiate himself from his old self [which would be the ponytail or the down style] because he feels too obvious if he wears a red ribbon and his old style. -wears some sort of very typical robe instead of black and red. will deliberate on this down the line but i think the manhua robes he wears when he's early mxy is the coloring i want, dark but not black and red. *lwj probably struggles with this bc he wants him to wear something better and more familiar, but he will concede and get him something similar to what he was already wearing so he's not dirty and bloody.

-Once he's settled [not just when he gets found out, but after the battle in guanyin temple] he starts wearing his hair as he fancies however he'd like. Primarily this is the down style cuz i LOVE yllz style, but ponytail and the half-up style are things he will still do if he or his husbando wants it that way].

-He prefers to wear styles that make him look most like his old self, so the down style is preferred for both of them.

-MXY's natural body scent is kind of tinny from the way he died, but it dissipates over time. The rest of his scent is old notes from his home and Jinlintai, faintly of peonies and strangely some sort of woman's perfume that also fades with time...

-WWX takes the small amount of feminine products that MXY leaves behind, as he has a feeling there's something important about them to the owner's body. Once everything is over, he is able to use these for his memorial tablet.

An official decision has been made for the title of MXY's companion fic to GOM. i originally had it as "Rose Hips & Flushed Fingertips" but it felt like a bit of a mouthful to me? i feel like without the flushed part it still gets the point across. Let me know though if you think this is a mistake, this is just based on how it feels to me based on the amount of syllables LMAO. if i could get a similar feeling out of a shorter title i think i'd use it as long as it suited my taste.

For now though! "RHF" is the abbreviation for this one. in celebration of the decision, how about some sneak peeks?

As a canon-typical version of mxy's story, it will not have a happy ending, obviously. so i will make sure to tag appropriately when its ready to post.

So WIP's of my MXY, part 2 hello! I decided "Sleep? What is that" tonight, and i wrote out the entire backstory for MXY in my fic "Ghost of Mine" for the past idk how many hours instead, i have absolutely lost all sense of time tonight LMAO anyway i hope u guys like my progress, i'm leaving out the details on his backstory bc i plan on his backstory going somewhere in the fic. However if something changes and i can't add it or make a small fic on the side i'll post the details about him later. To clarify though 27 is the age mxy sacrifices i believe so that last drawing is his final look before wwx comes into the picture. I continued sketching in Drawpile cuz i'm enjoying the brush again lol

I put the other wip under the cut just in case people assume my wip of mxy/wwx are nude and lwj gets flagged as nudity lmao

i'm much happier with the pose now and the sizing! and i changed some of the body/hair details for mxy/wwx to match what i'm trying to attempt for the mxy design. He has shorter hair when he starts out in this fic and grows it out over time. he also sports a very "untamed" look bc i wanted him to have a "non-wwx look" [aka it needed to look different than his youth/yiling look cuz he wants to look less sus, even though he already looks quite different bc he's in another body and all]

and bonus attempt at my wen ning but i'm not super happy with it, regardless, here anywho. His design is leaning heavily towards the manhua version of him physically but i wanna do some alterations and touch ups later on. This was my first drawing of the night so its the roughest of the lot anyway.

i don't know if anyone i know writes fanfics except one person, and i also don't have a lot of fics to give an example for...however, i'll give what i can cuz this sounded fun to do. Plus, maybe you'll see a few things you haven't seen yet!!

man this list gives me a bad reputation for finishing things, i just haven't done many fanfictions in my life (i usually write original stuff)

eurghhghgh this gets a little long but i'm not putting a read more line cuz i put TLDR at the bottom and i want that shown.

i'm starting to think uploading weekly is more difficult than i thought now that i'm trying to also work on other things during the week, i haven't had time to work on any of the companion fics for gom or any of my other projects, and i think GOM is suffering a bit for it [last week i did just basic sketches for the chapter bc i was struggling to get everything done in time]

and that means i also don't really have time to stream if i want to draw while you guys watch, since i stream for a few hours at least [the one i did the other day was about six hr, you can see the highlight reel here, since the vod will eventually be deleted as all vods disappear after like 7 days. i just trimmed off the start and end where i'm talking nonsense and saved that as my highlight reel. sorry about the audio being a bit funky for my mic i'll bring my laptop closer to me next time].

But also the biggest thing [on top of wanting to complete more chapters and make a buffer]: i really want to reread the entirety of Ghost of mine so i can check for errors or inconsistencies, all i could do last week was listen to the tts of 12-16 while trying to get a drawing for 17 prepared, and i couldn't fix all the errors i heard since i was just trying to fix the timeline errors as a minimum before posting the chapter. the extra time would give me more time to proofread Ghost of Mine carefully, as well as give the new chapters and art the attention it deserves. [and...actually take care of my irl self better, it's hard to find time for things like cooking and cleaning beyond what i do for the older man i live with].

So what i'm trying to say is although i didn't think i needed it before, i am changing my mind about it now. so i think it's a good idea for me to upload every two weeks instead of one...at least until i (hopefully) am able to catch up to the point of having stuff prepared ahead of schedule.

i swear on my god awful adhd that i will sit down with my sprint bot [a bot that times me and tracks my word count, not an AI], and write with no distractions at least once a day [unless i have things that i am forced to do and can't get to it, but i can get a lot done when i'm using the sprint bot to make myself focus]. So i will hopefully be making the two week change worth it by getting a lot done and being able to return to weekly updates when things are less cramped and there's stuff prepared properly ahead of time.

I hope that's alright with all of you, cuz i love working on gom it's just a lot for me to get done in a week with everything else i want to do!!

just imagine if i had more time i might be able to start posting TWPT along side gom [it's the jiang cheng lan xichen companionfic for GOM that i haven't had time to write as of late, i have it completely outlined but i just don't have time to write it anymore rn. check it out on the masterpost for my MDZS projects]. or the MXY companionfic as well, which i already started but i can't keep working on because of time as well.

basically there's a lot going on for gom besides the main fic that i haven't been able to get to and it just continues to get further behind in those aspects because i can't get the time for it. so really, i need those two weeks and i'm only just now admitting it to myself that i can't push out updates every two days like i used to and especially not now with these other projects and wanting to branch my stuff out more. There's so much i wanna do! lmao

TLDR; i want to change to bi-monthly updates for GOM so that i can increase my quantity and quality of all projects and future updates properly. I appreciate your amazing patience and i hope to make this change worth it!

i will always update you guys if i make changes like this. i can't leave the changes in your hands completely, but i will continue to upload on sunday since that's the day you guys like! expect the next GOM update on the 23rd instead of the 16th, and every two weeks from the 23rd.

I GOT A SONG FOR MXY in GOM so i am feeling the mood to write for mxy's companionfic now. i'm still trying to think of a name for it... maybe Sparks amidst snow would actually ironically be good? i have some imagery that will be coming along to do with snow so i think it would fit, but its also probably a name that has been used before... maybe some variation of it.

Actually, nvm...maybe something to do with rose hips! i know i'm going everywhere XD i will probably keep my reasoning for this decision to myself. anyway, the song i found!

i have another for mxy around here, uhhh, this one as well! this was my first one i just forgot about for a bit. this is a bit one for it i just love it (plus the imagery they used for the lyric video puts me in such a mood for it)

God this is such a good interpretation you've done and i'm impressed cuz you lined up the lyrics better than i can (my adhd brain scatters unless i'm giving something my full attention) i so DIRELY want to explain the GOM version but i can't fully UGHHHH

some of these explanations are right on the money though with my thoughts initially!! I leaned more towards emotional/metaphorical meanings, but there's an entire section in the end of empathy arc that i can't explain which is why i never gave my thoughts OTL one of the metaphorical things i feel like i can explain is the glass house and lifeline- the glass house referring to wwx's (redacted) state and the lifeline referring to the bonds he has lost or feels he can't keep.

i will explain a little though as to give a liiiiittle explanation where i can however: i did say "sunshot to burial" but i actually imagined "sunshot to mxy" which i regret not changing in my post haha, but i want to go over this part particularly:

'There was an earthquake There was an avalanche of change We were so afraid We cried ourselves a hurricane There were floods Tidal waves over us So we folded our hands and prayed Like a domino These wildfires grow and grow'

These two verses were the start of Nightless city to the end of WWX's first life. I imagined many scenes with the Wens during these and it was so painful to imagine them begging not to be killed or praying for a solution with the "So we folded our hands and prayed" part (┬┬﹏┬┬)

There is a section of empathy at the end that is unique to GOM, which is why i can't talk abt it, but it's between the 4th and 6th line.

and then MXY's parts. 'Until a brand new world takes shape' ‘Till the sirens sound, I'm safe Until the sirens sound, I'm safe Until the sirens sound, I'm safe’

every time "Until the sirens sound, I'm safe" plays i also imagine this is like, referencing to wwx's future life but it doesn't come true until the end, where he is repeatedly finding that he is safe...with lwj, regardless of each danger that comes their way.
