“... Captain America? No, sorry. You mean Thunderbolts? Let me tell you, it was a much quieter year for me because I didn't see Anthony Mackie. So, I'll say that.”

[ID: A scene from the Mob Psycho 100 stageplay. Reigen raises a fist in front of Shou, looking stressed and infuriated, but he turns and walks away. He pulls his hand back to himself and chants, “I’m an adult, I’m an adult, I’m an adult, I’m an adult–” He turns back around and flings a pointed finger at Shou, looking like he’s at his wit’s end as he shouts, “– but I’m well within my rights to be pissed off right now!” End ID]

lots of people talk about paul's musical talent re his bass playing, or his songwriting/composing, but soooo rarely does anyone talk about his vocal talent. like. if you played someone nineteen hundred and eighty-five and then like all my loving they flat out wouldn't be able to tell that it's the same person. same with like oh! darling, helter skelter, monkberry moon delight, etc. and when he makes himself sound Exactly like buddy holly of elvis or even john for a song or bit? oh my god.

truly the most egregious part of the 2012 Les Mis is that they changed Valjean’s line from
“It’s the story of those who always loved you, your mother gave her life for you then gave you to my keeping.”
to
“it’s the story, of one who turned from hating. The man who only learned to love when you were in his keeping.”
LIKE?????!! How dare they remove Valjean specifically mentioning Fantine’s sacrifice and putting that before he mentions his own part in the story?? How dare they make Valjean imply that it was only when Cosette came into his keeping that he stopped hating everything and learned to love WHEN THE FUCKING BISHOP IS THE REASON FOR THE GODDAMN SEASON????
Like OF COURSE Cosette softened Valjean, of course he became a better man when he became her father, of course their relationship is important.
But this story would not have happened without the love of the bishop and it was his love that rekindled the love that was dormant in Valjean’s heart. And it was Fantine that fanned that flame, then Cosette’s that kept it steady.
I just hate how flat it makes Valjean’s story seem. “It’s the story, of those who always loved you.” Is THE answer Cosette has been searching for her whole life. I wish they’d kept it in instead of feeling like the audience would only feel fulfilled by Valjean’s story if he only mentioned his direct relationship to Cosette.
Whatever idk. It’s a good Les Mis for a lot of reasons, but a bad one for a lot of reasons too 🥲

y'all.
Y'all.
In episode six, a lot of focus is put on Percy and annabeth and grover (rightly so, seeing as they're the main characters) but I don't think enough people are seeing how much Hermes LOVED Luke.
Sure, he was an absent parent--but the difference between him and people like Zeus is that Hermes was absent from Luke's life purely out of necessity. It killed him to stay away. He talks about it with Percy and annabeth, trying to explain to them how much it hurt that no matter what he did, he always seemed to be doing something WRONG--whether it was with Luke or with May or with the people he helped to the underworld.
_________
"There is another way to the Underworld. A secret way. I've helped others find it. And do you know what happens, every time? I mean every single time."
"Do you know what that feels like? To be so close to someone you love, and knowing neither of you has any choice but to keep on hurting each other?"
"I don't get involved anymore."
_________
Even after all that, he STILL made sure they had everything they needed (minus the innate driving skills that Percy already possessed). Because of Luke. Because no matter how much his son hates him, he'll always be unable to fully stop himself from trying to help him at every turn.
Even when Luke was diametrically opposed to Hermes' entire existence, Hermes still wanted so badly to be close to him. That's how much he loved his son.

casting lee dohyun in the good bad mother is maybe one of the best castings ever... because put that man in a suit with his hair done and he's stern. he's powerful. he's undefeatable. he's 35.
but make him smile his dopey ass heartstrings-pulling wide smile with his hair down and he's young. he's meek. he's adorable and sweet. he's 7.
