All of Iris' friends know she's in love with Ash. She's straightforward with many things, not with this, though. So when she sudenly gets an invitation for Ash's wedding, they all ask her "are you gonna speak now?".

PART 1

Even though they hadn't seen each other for a long time, Iris still loved Ash romantically- that was probably the only thing she'd shut up about for the rest of her life. Or so she thought.

One day, she received a letter from him. This wasn't unusual, since they wrote to each other all the time. What was unusual, was the content of said letter.  "Ash and ... would be delighted if Iris joined them to celebrate their marriage at..." That was enough for her to stop reading. She started laughing, because that had to be a joke, right?

 Of course, everyone else received invitations as well. The Striaton brothers, Bianca, Trip, Stephan, Luke, Burgundy, Georgia... They were all worried for Iris, even Georgia. They tried to call her but she wouldn't answer the phone, she wouldn't open the door, she didn't want to talk to anyone.

The pokémon were worried for their trainer too. Excadrill had had enough, so in one of those unsuccessful visits, he opened the door himself.

 "Hey, are you gonna speak now?" Georgia asked.

"I'll play guitar", Bianca added.

The Unova group had travelled to Kanto for the wedding day... except for Iris. She had stayed at home with Drayden, training.

Before the event started, they all went to greet and congratulate the groom, who looked disappointed... when he didn't see "his best friend" there. And everyone had the same question on mind, but nobody wanted to ask. "Why her? Why not Iris?".

 "I didn't even know you and ... were a couple" Cilan quickly said. He was immensely proud of his friend, however, this all had a bitter taste.

"Mhm, yeah..." Ash brushed it off like he didn't care.

"You do realize you're getting married, right?".

"Yeah!", he laughed, "I'm just so nervous!".

Meanwhile, in Opelucid City, Iris started to regret her decision. Was she being mean or selfish? Whether she loved Ash romantically or not, this was still her friend and it was such an important day for him.

PART 3

... Iris arrived just in time, all thanks to Dragonite! She sneaked in and saw her friends, Ash's friends, and the bride. She hid in the curtains. Now what? She felt embarrassed and didn't really want to be seen.

We are gathered here today, to join together Ash Ketchum and ... in holy matrimony...

A tear rolled down Iris' face. She was there, at the wedding of the person she loved- not even as a proper guest, just spying.

What if the bride was her? Everything would be better. This was her last chance...

These two persons present come now to be joined. Therefore, if anyone can show just cause why they may not be lawfully joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace.

"I object!". The girl with long, wild hair covered her mouth immediatly. She realized that what she just had done was bad, but she couldn't stop now. "I object because I love you, Ash! Don't say yes!".

The room was in complete silence. People looked at Iris, horrified, but she was only looking at Ash.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry everyone that you have to see this", she grabbed her purple dress tightly, "but please, please don't say yes".

A few people though, were trying to hold back their happy giggles, of course. Bianca, Georgia, Burgundy, even Cilan...

Pikachu jumped off Ash's shoulder and placed himself on Iris'. "Pika", he said nodding his head, as an "I agree".

"Thanks, Pikachu, it was nice seeing you. I guess I need to go now", she whispered before running away from the place.

Everyone was shocked. The bride glanced at Ash with disgust, like asking him "who was she?". He couldn't respond, all he could do was look her in the eyes and say "sorry" with them.

He quickly winked at Pikachu, who was still near the entrance after Iris had left; what that wink meant was "electrocute everyone". And in the confusion and shock, he ran off, leaving a very messy scene behind.

Outside the church, Ash ran and ran, trying to find the girl who interrupted his wedding. "Iris? Iris! I need to talk! I feel the same way!".

Still in high heels and a dress, she jumped off a tree. "Yes?".

"I didn't say yes", he whispered, smiling, getting another smile from her in return. He grabbed her hand, "it's always been you".

Iris wasn't the kind of girl to rudely barge in on a white veil ocassion. However, why would the boy he loved be in that kind of situation in the first place?

GUYS AAAAAAAAA, I think everyone knows that Speak Now is my favourite TS album and the re-recording is the best thing that's ever been mine !!! So I tried to write a short Negaishipping fanfic, imagining them in this kind of situation. I am so nervous jskdjkdj, it's been a long time since I wrote fanfics or stories, so sorry if it's bad. Btw I refer to the bride as "..." LMAO because I didn't know who could it be!! This was written from notes jotted on or about January 15.

It had been a week or so since I watched Episode 7, and it felt like a chasm had developed between then and now—a chasm also reflected on screen, between Emily and Edward, as well as a minor one between Emily mère and Edward, as he prepares to abandon her for Congress—at Christmas!

At the beginning, the rift between Emily and Sue also remains, although perhaps it is beginning to mend. We see Sue’s jealousy of Emily’s friendship/flirting with Ben, which is a fun mirror to Emily’s mild resentment of Sue’s relationship with Austin in the early days of the season. Finally, though, there appears to be a rapprochementbetween the BFFs when they have an honest talk and Sue confesses how she was taking Emily’s presence, always being there when she wanted or needed her, for granted.

Until then, though, Ben is Emily’s lifeline, and she decides single-handedly to “rescue” her mother’s cancelled Christmas Dinner—the insanity of it all, just to impress Ben. Emily, the anti-housewife, goes full-on housewife in this episode, and it is both hilarious—but also impressive to see how much she has absorbed of “the woman’s role” to (mostly—with the help of others, including Sue) pull it all off.

(When Emily was forced to confess to Lavinia that Ben was not really married, the youngest Dickinson’s excitement was palpable—whether that was actually happiness for Emily, or more for her own progress towards matrimony potentially being unblocked, we don’t know.)

As for Sue and Austin, I’m still not sure whether he loves Sue or only the idea of Sue, but it felt in that moment that he did hear her. (Such a terrible fear to have carried her whole life—and another reminder that these events of nearly two centuries ago are not so far removed from today, as here in Georgia we are near the bottom—40-something-th—in maternal mortality, even though our governor would rather ignore that uncomfortable truth. Or, as so many cases post-Dobbs have shown, the men in power have codified the idea that the mother should die so that the child can be born. In large swaths of this country, we have returned to the horrors of two hundred years ago.)

The relationship between Edward and Emily continues to be one of the most interesting ones in the series. Despite his gruff, man-of-the-era attitude and views, Edward seems almost desperate for Emily’s good graces. We’re 80% of the way through the season, and the series has yet to try to explain why he is this way—he does not have the same need with his wife or his other daughter, and I would guess not Austin, either.  So here he is still bending over backwards to please—or at least appease—Emily with the Christmas present of the conservatory, her very own greenhouse attached to the house so she might grow plants and flowers year-round. However, Emily’s vision, of her trapped in the conservatory, trapped in her father’s house, makes me wonder how Emily really feels? Especially after her conversation with her mother, who is so proud of how Emily stepped up and showed she could take care of the family life, and then “grants” Emily’s wish not to need to be married…which suddenly becomes a prison.

Ben’s illness is strong foreshadowing on its own, and then very much on the nose with Death’s carriage as Emily walks home alone. (Aside: I really loved that red-and-blue combination on Emily in that scene, the red dress, red scarf, red lips, complemented with the blue coat, and against the stark white of the Christmas snow.)

Forces of Nature (1999)

While I didn't enjoy this film, that doesn't mean you won't. No matter what I say, the people involved in this project did it: they actually made a movie. That's something to be applauded. With that established...

The only inkling of innovation in Forces of Nature comes during the poorly conceived finale. You won’t believe THAT just happened. Dull, predictable, and above all, phony, it won’t satisfy even the drooling monkeys it was meant for.

Ben Holmes (Ben Affleck) is about to get married to Bridget (Maura Tierney), but everything, from the weather to strangers, to his best friend (Steve Zahn), tells him matrimony just isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Against his better judgment and desperate after his plane suffers an engine malfunction, he rents a car with Sarah (Sandra Bullock) and they head towards the wedding in Georgia. Good thing she's not the kind of woman he’d be attracted to, or his nuptials might be in jeopardy...

As a general rule, I hate this type of film. It’s a romantic comedy that spends 80% of its running time repeating that marriage, love and romance are like trying to light a candle in a tornado: the sooner you give up, the better off you’ll be. If someone is sitting down with a romantic comedy… is it too much to ask for some romance? People who have chemistry, who make you believe that you and your date are not doomed to hate each other within a few weeks? If that wasn’t bad enough, this plot comes straight from the factory. Ben is the kind of mollusk that is too afraid to do anything, never takes any chances and complains all the time. He is simultaneously too spineless to ever stand up for himself and too pleased with the titanium rod stuck up his rear end to ever consider the possibility of fun. Sarah on the other hand, is the kind of free spirit that doesn’t exist in real life, the kind of lady that would make you do a double-take but would push you away after the first date ends because she’s so wild she’s damaged. They’re such extreme opposites that only in the make-believe world of Hollywood could they ever land in the same room and realize they're attracted to each other.

It’s one forced plot point after another as everything that could go wrong with Sarah and Ben’s trip does. None of it matters, of course, as these are not real people with real feelings: they’re marionettes moving aimlessly through a story you’ve seen a thousand times and could write in your sleep. I called Forces of Nature a romantic comedy earlier, but there are no funny scenes. None. It makes for a dreadful bore. You'll beg for someone to die a horrible death (you’d even settle for yourself if it meant you could stop watching) to break the monotony.

And then, the unthinkable happens. The film actually does something different. I was so deeply uninvolved in the story I didn’t see it coming, but Forces of Nature does not, in fact, end with Sarah and Ben learning that Bridget has been cheating with her old boyfriend Vic (Jack Kehler). The two people we have been following for 90 minutes do not consummate their love. No, the people who were supposed to get married… actually get married! Don’t think this redeems the picture in any way whatsoever. If anything, it makes it worse. Now we're left with a film in which the two people who are “in love” at the end have no scenes together, where all their insecurities as a couple are resolved with a quick speech Ben makes up on the spot. Meanwhile, Sarah’s story gets resolved off-screen. You think you’re being clever, movie, but you’re not.

The idea of someone watching Forces of Nature and enjoying it is inconceivable. The only scene I enjoyed showed Sandra Bullock in her underwear - a moment that makes you feel sleazy. It's as if director Bronwen Hughes had a big crush on the actress and realized this would be her only chance to get to see Bullock without her clothes on or was pressured to include this moment by a greasy executive. This is a forgettable picture destined to disappear. The sooner it does, the better. (On VHS, April 3, 2018)

La segunda temporada de Bridgerton regresa a Netflix con una nueva búsqueda de una pareja matrimonial adecuada, esta vez nos enfocamos en Anthony Bridgerton. La temporada 2 mejora la temporada 1 al cambiar el programa a una narrativa basada en historias de conjuntos que es esencial para construir los conflictos y las relaciones para las probables temporadas futuras. La dinámica de la relación central que combina los tropos de ficción romántica de enemigos a amantes y el triángulo amoroso satisface por igual a los lectores de la serie de libros de Julia Quinn y a los fans del show. La integración de los flashbacks en el Episodio 3 con la atracción cada vez más clara de Anthony por Kate, que complica sus planes de vida, está increíblemente bien hecha. El episodio también establece la historia de la familia Bridgerton, que es clave para los eventos posteriores de la trama. La temporada 2 de Bridgerton se desvió con éxito de algunas de las críticas de la temporada 1, mientras que quedan algunas. La única diferencia es que Edwina es la que se hace a un lado para que su hermana mayor tenga la oportunidad de una felicidad negada durante mucho tiempo. A lo largo de los episodios, Bridgerton entreteje referencias sutiles y abiertas que normalizan y eliminan los estereotipos más antiguos de las tradiciones culturales indias en el espacio dramático de época. Esto debe celebrarse ya que necesitamos más personajes dramáticos del período del sur de Asia. Sin embargo, la temporada pierde la oportunidad de responder preguntas sobre la historia de la India durante la Regencia. ¿Existe la Compañía Británica de las Indias Orientales? ¿Hay tropas británicas en la India? El enfoque en las cláusulas de herencia de Sheffield enturbia estas aguas. 

La trama de Theo Sharpe también es una oportunidad perdida para hablar más sobre los movimientos de reforma social y la cultura durante la Era de la Regencia. Esto también podría haberse relacionado con las Sharmas, ya que las discusiones sobre la abolición y la expansión colonial también estaban en folletos y libros de intelectuales y activistas. Sharpe es un medio para un fin para desarrollar la brecha entre Eloise y Penélope y debería haber tenido más tiempo en pantalla para mostrarle a la audiencia una visión más amplia de la regencia en los barrios bajos de Londres que la que se vio en producciones anteriores.

En términos de conciliar el canon del libro con el canon de la serie, la temporada 2 no resuelve por completo las preguntas sobre la identidad de Benedict. Su percepción de ser queer en la temporada 1 no se menciona en la trama de la aventura de la escuela de arte. Ahora si bien Benedict es el personaje principal del tercer libro de Julia Quinn, existe la posibilidad de que la temporada 3 cambie las cosas. "Hay ocho hermanos Bridgerton, por lo que estamos planeando seguir cada una de las historias románticas de los hermanos", mencionó Rhimes (productora ejecutiva del show) a ET. "No iremos necesariamente en orden, pero vamos a ver a cada uno de los hermanos y sus historias".

Dada la popularidad del romance de Colin y Penélope, es muy posible que la temporada 3 sea una adaptación del cuarto libro de Bridgerton, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, que se centra en el viaje de Colin hacia el amor.

Bridgerton es una franquicia de drama y romance de época que llegó para quedarse. La segunda temporada demuestra que la serie puede expandir con éxito el elenco y cambiar el enfoque sin perder el núcleo de lo que hizo en su temporada. Los snobs y racistas del género tendrán que aguantar o callarse mientras el público disfruta de un gran show.

‘ello chickens! it is i, g aka the dumb dumb behind alexander, once more bringing you a character nobody asked for but hopefully someone will love? she is my precious baby and i adore her so hopefully, she’ll find a home and a family here with all of you and your amazing characters. without further ado, i’ll introduce you to my baby, addie.

addie was born in peachtree, georgia as adelaide savoy dupont, daughter of a salesman/conman and an atlanta socialité who learned to be a scammer thanks to her husband and taught addie to be one as well from a very young age. 

they part of the renown du pont family, so they p much lived like royalty for a good portion of addie’s life, even though her parents were never affectionate towards her and p much only used her whenever they needed something from her because no one suspected the little girl with the ponytails and sweet smile.

theodore michael savoy du pont, addie’s younger brother was born when Adelaide was around nine. their mother lost interest on teddy pretty quickly so addie pretty much raised the kid as well as she could after she turned thirteen and the two formed an unbreakable bond very quickly. the most their parents neglected them, the closer they got.

CHILD NEGLECT TW the worst instance of their parents neglecting both addie and teddy happened right after teddy turned 7. their friends and family found out about how the couple had played them and the savoy family lost all respect within the community, so they quickly started to go in debt with banks and strangers to try to live the life they were so used to. by this time, the matrimony had mostly forgotten their kids to the point where they stopped providing for them unless they needed adelaide for some job, so it was all addie’s responsibility to not only care for her brother but her parents somehow. she started working (an honest job) when she was fifteeen and never truly stopped.

ARSON TW when addie was seventeen, one year from graduating high school her parents made a decision: they needed money to pay off credit debts and alas, they needed to burn down the house the du ponts had bought for them down. when she heard about the plans, addie started to storage as many stuff as she could when she was informed of what was going to happen (was guilt-tripped into staying silent) and the night her parents actually burnt the house down, addie grabbed teddy, everything she had gathered, a car a friend had lend to her and fleed peachtree. the two siblings never look back. 

in the next years, the savoy siblings lived in around eight different cities in the usa, where addie would work two, three jobs and sometimes homeschool teddy, since they moved a lot and couldn’t find schools for him. 

when addie turned 18, she sued her parents and gained teddy’s custody, becoming his legal guardian and raising him as such, all by herself

the savoy siblings arrived to islesbury in 2015, when addie was 26 and teddy 16 after receiving an inheritance from the du pont. they bought a nice house in town and a bigger manor near the beach in shambles and worked to turn it into ALMOST HEAVEN INN, a b&b addie still manages to this day. she also makes all of her and some of teddy’s clothes (something she had to learn to do after their parents stopped providing for them), paints and sculpts.

when the two arrived to islesbury, addie met someone she completely fell in love with and within a year, the couple was already married (i already submitted the wc to main BUT PLEASE GIVE ME ADDIE’S SPOUSE I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS IN MIND) and raised teddy together for a year, until he started college.

he recently graduated as a vet, still lives with addie and her spouse and is addie’s biggest pride and joy.

most days, addie is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, the kind of girl who smiles at everyone she meets and greets strangers with a smile on the daily. she likes making people around her happy. she thrives when people around her shine.

however, she can be very closed off and go as far as to be very deceitful? I mean, she is sharp, even though people don’t think she is because they write her off as a “southern belle” type, but what most people don’t know is she can be cunning whenever she sets her mind on it, she learned from a very young age how to take advantage of everything she had to get what she had her mind settled on.

hello fellow kids, i am g (aka the dumb dumb behind @soulcfaman​ here with another character nobody asked for. without further ado, i give you my sweet baby girl, addie:

H I S T O R Y

Adelaide Atkins Savoy is the daughter of Edward Atkins, an English salesman/conman and Ann Savoy, a French teacher that came from a (somewhat) noble family.

The Atkins family moved to Peachtree, Georgia from England when Addie was five years old after a business initiated by Edward, her father, went awry with the Savoys. Addie’s grandpa, who probably lost the most out of the business con but loved Addie to no end and wanted her grandkid to have a decent life, decided to fly the Atkin-Savoy family and bought them a wonderful, luxurious home on Addie’s name.

Her childhood was… an odd one, to say the least. Her parents still acted like they were part of the Savoy family while in Georgia (and with the housing/jobs Addie’s grandpa got them, there was no reason to doubt them) so they fit perfectly with Georgia’s finest, they were living a double life of sorts, socialités in debt who schemed their wealthiest friends without them knowing. Her parents promptly got Addie to work alongside them, either as a distraction or as an active asset in their plans and she couldn’t quite deny her skills to them alas, Addie did stuff she wasn’t proud of, illegal stuff she could get away with because no one suspected the little girl with the ponytails.

Edward Michael Atkins Savoy, Addie’s younger brother was born when Adelaide was around eleven. Ann lost interest on Eddie pretty quickly so Addie pretty much raised the kid as well as she could after she turned thirteen. The two formed an unbreakable bond very quickly.

She learned many skills during her time with her parents: pick locking, html, pickpocketing, boxing, sewing (which served the young woman well when her parents decided to stop buying their kids clothes and she started making them for the two of them instead), whatever her parents required of her and whatever she could learn to make sure her brother was well taken care of, she’d learn.

CHILD NEGLECT TW The worst instance of their parents neglecting both Addie and Eddie happened right after Eddie turned five. Their friends found out about how the couple had played them and the Atkins family lost all respect within the community, so they quickly started to go in debt with banks and strangers to try to live the life Ann and Edward were so used to. By this time, the matrimony had mostly forgotten their kids to the point where they stopped providing for them unless they needed Adelaide for some job, so it was all Addie’s responsibility to not only care for her brother but her parents somehow. She started working (an honest job) when she was fourteen and never truly stopped.

ARSON TW when Addie was seventeen, one year from graduating high school Edward and Ann made a decision: they needed money to pay off credit debts and alas, they needed to burn down the house the Savoys had bought for the family because they needed the insurance money. Addie started to storage as many stuff as she could when she was informed of what was going to happen (was guilt-tripped into staying silent) and the night her parents actually burnt the house down, Addie grabbed Eddie, everything she had gathered, a car a friend had lend to her and flee Peachtree, the two siblings didn’t look back. Adelaide didn’t finish High School.

After the two siblings escaped Peachtree, they situated in New Orleans for about a year, where Addie worked around two, three jobs in order to take care of herself and Eddie. No longer after a friend encouraged her to give her testimony (and all the proof she had gathered that backed up the claim that the fire had been premeditated) and she put her parents in jail for arson and child neglect, gaining her brother’s full custody and whatever money was left from the insurance payment.

By Eddie’s request, the two siblings moved to California in 2011 where she met a young musician called Dillon Wolfe. The couple fell in love shortly after. Six years later, they were getting married, Eddie being the person walking Adelaide down the aisle.

The little Wolfe-Atkins family moved to New York in 2018.

After working as a waitress/bartender/cook/whatever she could get to make a living for her and Eddie throughout her life, Addie got a letter from the Savoy family one day with the news that her grandfather had died and had left behind a trust fund for her, enough money for the two siblings to live off comfortably for the rest of their lives. However, the oldest decided to only use enough to buy a nice house for the two of them and to open a modest, lovely b&b, their major source of income and save the rest as the family wasn’t in dire need for money anymore.

She and Eddy don’t really talk about their past a lot, unless any of the parts truly trust the person they tell their story to.

p e r s o n a l i t y

Most days, Addie is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, the kind of girl who smiles at everyone she meets and greets strangers with a smile on the daily. She likes making people around her happy. She thrives when people around her shine.

However, she can be very closed off and go as far as to be very deceitful? I mean, she is sharp, even though people don’t think she is because they write her off as a “southern belle” type, but what most people don’t know is she can be cunning whenever she sets her mind on it, she learned from a very young age how to take advantage of everything she had to get what she had her mind settled on.

Best friend: Either the best friend who help the Atkins while the lived in Georgia (preferably) or a new friendship they’ve built in the years they’ve been in New york Addie would be nothing without this person. She trusts them more than her own shadow and would kill for them in a heartbeat.

Foreign cousins: Maybe someone seeking vengeance because of what Addie’s father did to the family? Maybe they don’t even know they are related, everyone loves having someone you can tell “well, now i know where the craziness comes from”.

Muse: Whenever she’s stressed or just… inspiration strikes, Addie calls this person to either use them as a model or a canvass. She has every line of their body engraved on her memory and she still finds them fascinating and could spend hours painting them. We can discuss what shape this plot could potentially take.

People she works for: Either her art or the clothes she makes, I’d love to write about any of those.
