Nothing better than a small #xmasdinner with loved ones ❤️ This year, I decided to go with a #scandinavian fusion menu 💜 Started with simple #coldcuts + #cheeseboard that goes splendidly with Roasted Pumpkin & Root Veg Salad drizzled with #homemade Yogurt Sauce. Followed by my personal fav, Varmalanskov Swedish Sausage with Tators in Creamy Cheese Sauce 💜 Manage to squeeze room for desserts from @paul.malaysia which was delish 👌🏻 Wishing one and all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 😘 #theMoS #personalchef #foodie #foodphotography #foodstagram #foodography #instafood #foodporn #foodgasm #foodiegram #foodiesofinstagram #swedishfood #swedishmeal #fusionfood #Varmalanskov #swedishsausage #tators #bangsar #kualalumpur (at MoS Batcave) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmTR3Orpy3M/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Varieties of Ways to Cook Spaghetti
Spaghetti, one of the most beloved pasta shapes, has been cooked and served in countless ways around the world. From traditional Italian methods to creative modern twists, spaghetti is a versatile dish that can be adapted to various tastes, dietary needs, and cultural preferences. Whether you’re a purist who loves a classic marinara or an adventurous cook looking for something new, here are some of the most popular and exciting varieties of ways to cook spaghetti.
1. Spaghetti alla Carbonara (Italy)
One of the most famous Italian spaghetti dishes, Spaghetti alla Carbonara is a rich and creamy meal that doesn’t actually use cream. The sauce is made with eggs, Pecorino Romano cheese, pancetta (or guanciale), and black pepper. When mixed with hot pasta, the eggs create a silky, luxurious sauce. This Roman classic is a must-try for anyone who loves comforting, simple ingredients with bold flavors.
2. Spaghetti Bolognese (Italy)
While Spaghetti Bolognese is more of an international version of the Italian Ragù alla Bolognese, it remains a beloved way to serve spaghetti, especially in the UK and the USA. The dish features a slow-cooked meat sauce made with ground beef, tomatoes, onions, carrots, and celery, often enriched with red wine and herbs. It’s hearty, filling, and perfect for a family dinner.
3. Spaghetti Aglio e Olio (Italy)
For a simple yet flavorful dish, Spaghetti Aglio e Olio is a go-to recipe. This Neapolitan dish consists of spaghetti tossed with olive oil, garlic, chili flakes, and sometimes parsley. Despite its simplicity, it packs a punch with the aromatic garlic and a hint of spice. It’s an ideal option for a quick and satisfying meal.
4. Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce (USA/Italy)
A classic, no-frills dish, Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce is one of the easiest and most popular ways to cook spaghetti. Marinara sauce is made from tomatoes, garlic, onions, and herbs like basil or oregano. It’s a vegetarian option and serves as a foundation for more elaborate dishes, such as spaghetti with meatballs or parmesan-topped spaghetti.
5. Spaghetti with Pesto (Italy)
Spaghetti with Pesto brings the fresh, herby flavors of Genoa to your plate. Pesto sauce is made from fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil, creating a vibrant green sauce that’s full of flavor. The sauce can be tossed with spaghetti for a light, fragrant meal that’s perfect for summer.
6. Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe (Italy)
Another Roman classic, Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe is a minimalist dish made with just three ingredients: spaghetti, Pecorino Romano cheese, and black pepper. The trick is to use some of the pasta water to help the cheese melt into a creamy sauce. This dish is all about balance and mastering the technique to create a perfectly smooth, peppery sauce.
7. Spaghetti with Clams (Spaghetti alle Vongole – Italy)
A seafood lover’s dream, Spaghetti alle Vongole (Spaghetti with Clams) hails from the coastal regions of Italy. This dish is made with fresh clams, garlic, white wine, olive oil, and parsley, tossed with al dente spaghetti. The briny sweetness of the clams pairs beautifully with the light, fragrant sauce, making it a popular dish for summer dining by the sea.
8. Spaghetti with Meatballs (USA)
An iconic Italian-American dish, Spaghetti with Meatballs is a favorite comfort food. The meatballs are typically made from a blend of ground beef and pork, seasoned with garlic, breadcrumbs, and herbs, then simmered in a rich tomato sauce. This dish is hearty and filling, and the juicy meatballs add texture and flavor to the spaghetti.
9. Spaghetti in Tomato Cream Sauce (Worldwide)
For those who love creamy pasta but don’t want to go overboard, Spaghetti in Tomato Cream Sauce offers the perfect balance. The sauce is made by blending marinara with heavy cream or mascarpone, creating a rich yet tangy flavor. It’s a comforting dish that’s easy to make and pairs well with a variety of vegetables or proteins.
10. Baked Spaghetti (USA)
For something a little different, Baked Spaghetti is a casserole-style dish that combines cooked spaghetti with marinara or meat sauce, topped with mozzarella or cheddar cheese, and baked until bubbly and golden. This is a great way to use leftover spaghetti, and it’s a family-friendly dish that’s perfect for potlucks or casual gatherings.
11. Spaghetti Stir-Fry (Asia)
Taking a fusion approach, Spaghetti Stir-Fry is a creative twist on traditional pasta. In this version, spaghetti is stir-fried with vegetables, garlic, soy sauce, and sometimes meat like chicken or beef. This method is popular in Asian countries where pasta is incorporated into local dishes with flavors like ginger, sesame oil, and chili.
12. Spaghetti with Squid Ink Sauce (Italy)
For a more adventurous palate, Spaghetti with Squid Ink Sauce offers a deep, briny flavor and a striking black appearance. Popular in coastal regions of Italy, the sauce is made from squid ink, garlic, olive oil, and sometimes chili, creating a rich, savory dish that’s a favorite among seafood lovers.
13. Vegetarian or Vegan Spaghetti
With growing interest in plant-based diets, Vegetarian or Vegan Spaghetti has become increasingly popular. Options like spaghetti with roasted vegetables, tofu, or lentil-based sauces provide a wholesome and satisfying alternative. Vegan versions of classic sauces like Bolognese can be made with lentils or textured vegetable protein, while vegan pesto swaps Parmesan for nutritional yeast.
From traditional Italian recipes to global fusion variations, spaghetti is one of the most versatile dishes in the culinary world. Whether you prefer it simple with garlic and olive oil or indulgent with creamy sauces, there’s a spaghetti recipe for every mood and occasion. Experiment with these varieties and discover your own favorite way to enjoy this beloved pasta.

A unique fusion of sushi and burger, the Black Sushi Burger combines fresh sushi-grade tuna, crab meat, avocado, and cucumber wrapped in nori seaweed and served on black brioche buns. It's a delicious and visually stunning dish that's perfect for sushi lovers with a twist.
Ingredients: 1 cup sushi rice. 2 tablespoons rice vinegar. 1 tablespoon sugar. 1 teaspoon salt. 4 nori seaweed sheets. 1/2 pound fresh sushi-grade tuna, thinly sliced. 1/2 pound cooked crab meat. 1 ripe avocado, sliced. 1 cucumber, thinly sliced. Soy sauce, for dipping. Wasabi, for serving. Pickled ginger, for serving. Black sesame seeds, for garnish. Sushi burger buns black brioche buns.
Instructions: Cook sushi rice according to package instructions. In a small saucepan, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat over low heat until sugar and salt dissolve. Remove from heat and let it cool. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl. Drizzle the vinegar mixture over the rice and gently fold it in to coat the rice evenly. Allow it to cool to room temperature. Place a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi rolling mat. Wet your hands and grab a handful of sushi rice, spreading it evenly on the nori sheet, leaving about half an inch of nori at the top edge. Layer the thinly sliced tuna, crab meat, avocado, and cucumber on the rice-covered nori sheet. Roll the nori sheet tightly, using the bamboo mat to shape it into a sushi roll. Wet the exposed edge of nori to seal the roll. Repeat the process for the remaining nori sheets and ingredients. Slice each sushi burger roll into bite-sized pieces. To assemble the black sushi burger, cut the black brioche buns in half and lightly toast them. Place a slice of the sushi roll on the bottom half of the bun, drizzle with soy sauce, and add a dollop of wasabi and pickled ginger. Sprinkle with black sesame seeds for garnish. Place the top half of the bun over the sushi filling to create your black sushi burger. Serve immediately and enjoy!

My 100% honest review of Chatpatta Indian and Pakistani Street Food, the food truck - Lalli
Around 4-5 blocks from the back of the Moody School of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin, is a small food truck complex. If you don’t mind the short walk in the sweltering summer heat, I definitely recommend! For dinner we hit up Chatpatta Indian and Pakistani Street Food. This is what we ordered + my review in order of the photos:
1) Mango Lassi - 10/10 I’d be rlly sad if they messed Mango Lassi up lmao
2) Samosa Chaat - 7/10 It was light and mild which is perfect for how hot it was out. Although it was a tad bit too salty and super watery, so much so that it leaked all over the bag. The portion size was a bit big so make sure ur ok with it being your entire dinner.
3) Paneer Paratha Taco - 8/10 It’s pretty self explanatory in the sense that instead of a Tortilla, the filling is sandwiched between a Paratha (which is a type of Indian bread in case you didn’t know). The Paratha was flaky on the outside and chewy on the inside, so basically perfect. The vendors threw in some Paneer chunks with lettuce, onions, and a masala crema that added another layer of flavor to the taco. The paneer itself was a little bland, so that’s the big lacking point. Once again, the portion size was 2 very big tacos, so make sure you’re ok with ordering only that.
4) Lahori Channa Masala - 6/10 The dish was light and mild, once again a rlly good pairing for the hot weather. I had a similar problem with samosa chaat because both of these dishes were a little too salty and very watery. The channa masala did ,however, come with a side of rice so that compensated for the soupy texture. The portion size is decent, not too big or small.
Price wise, this place is pretty affordable considering you could get a whole meal for less than $20 per person. As far as the prices of each dish, it varies between $12-15 dollars. Added bonus, all the meat is Halal, so for our Muslim friends, go crazy! If it’s not worth the walk, the food truck offers delivery through GrubHub so homebodies have a great alternative. All in all, I’d give this place a 7.5/10. Have fun!

1st day of Ramadan Ifthar I am trying my best to eat healthy food this Ramadan with a balance of everything on my plate - protein, veggies and carbs. Alhamdulillah it was a delicious meal! I made roasted red pepper chicken kofta curry. This time I made it a little different by adding cashew & poppy seed paste (which induces sleep) to the tomato and onion based curry masala and no yogurt. It did help me sleep well. The recipe is on my blog and the link is in my bio. I made the grilled Zucchini following Chef Thomas Keller’s recipe @chefthomaskeller inspired by @kesarkitchen. The zucchini was so soft, juicy and creamy and so good that it did not need any dressing or vinaigrette to go with it. For the salad I julienned the white Indian radish and cucumber, tossed in some chopped ginger and sprinkled some lemon juice, salt, pepper, red chilli and cumin powders. You could add some chat masala if you like. It was tongue tingling and so refreshing to eat for Ifthar. * * * #ramadanifthar #nutritiousmeal #onmyplate #healthyveggies #grilledzucchini @chefthomaskeller #cucumberradishsalad #tasteofindia #fusionfood #canadianfoodblogger #foodbloggersca #fbcigersfood #igersfoodie #food52grams #huffpostaste #buzzfeastfood #mamasecretrecipes (at Brampton, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/CqLe_o4gmaC/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
