Funny Journey to the West (2016) 搞笑西游记
Tumblr media
Director: He Qing Starring: Wang Zhe Country/Region of Production: Mainland China Duration: 73 minutes Also know as: 嘻游疯神记 / The Legend of the Crazy God Type: Retelling
Summary:
This story uses a nonsensical approach and takes the story of Journey to the West as a template to tell the various funny events encountered by Tang Sanzang and his four disciples during their journey to the West. At the beginning, Tang Sanzang successively encountered Sun Wukong who was pressed under the Five Finger Mountain, Zhu Bajie who fell from the sky, Sha Wujing who was fainted by Wukong's bad breath after not brushing his teeth for 500 years, and the defeated Japanese businessman Kato Yingying, and then tamed him into a white dragon horse and gathered the team to go to the West. Then the five of them set out together. While being chased by the repeatedly defeated leader, Dongfang Bubai, and Saiyans, they also experienced small episodes such as stockholders jumping off buildings and migrant workers collecting debts. Finally, the five of them passed through the Kingdom of Daughters and met the Bull Demon King and his family, but they finally obtained the true scriptures and achieved the right results.

Like a predator closing in on its prey, Sūn Wùkōng rushed toward you, driven by an untamed instinct he could no longer suppress.
Fingers sinking deep into your hair, he pulled you sharply closer until the space between you vanished, your bodies nearly entwined as one.
His breath grazed your skin, and before you could react, his lips found yours—sweet with the taste of peach, an attempt to drive away the lingering bitterness of battle on his own.
A fire flared within you, its warmth unfurling from your core, rippling through every nerve, sending a shiver of delight down your spine.
Your heart thundered so violently that you feared it might tear itself free.
It felt as though Wùkōng pursued not only you, but the shadow of his own dread—the terror of losing you.
Only once he had conquered that fear did he allow you the luxury of a breath, as if for a heartbeat, he had forgotten the fragility of your mortal life.
Without uttering a word, he drew you into his arms, the hold steady and unrelenting.
In the circle of his embrace, you sensed the depth of his strength, as though the world outside had ceased to exist—his grip unyielding, as if he would never let you slip away.

Someone on YouTube reanimated one episode of the 70's Monkey Magic show and released it a few days ago.
youtube
YES OMGGGGG PEOPLE I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS HARD ENOUGH TO WATCH NOW! This is a project where
170
artists took a segment from "Catfish, Saint, and the Shape-Changer" the 14th episode from the 1978 series Saiyuki or better known as "Monkey". It is nearly 50 years old and while I shall say the English voices are a lil dated the artists have captured the charm and humor that made the series so popular in the first place! It is creative, it is inspiring, it is so glorious to see so many different artists show how much Xiyouji means to them and how they see this funny and strange group of monks together on their holy pilgrimage. It really captures just how beloved not only the show was but how even today JTTW is for any generation and transcends time to still be going strong after 400 from Wu Cheng'en's official release!
If you have 30 minutes to spare, please give it a watch! This an ENTIRE episode so please enjoy!
I'm putting some of my favorite shots but sadly I can only fit 30 but look at these DESIGNS and in ANIMATION!! Seriously this is all worth it! From beautiful to funny give it a look!
