Anon has a good point about carbon being the basis of like but also consider: carbon is very slutty bc it bonds with everything
a fair point in a way, but in my experience Flourine is the truest slut by that comparison. That stuff will bond with anything at all
also hydrogen and oxygen, those two will bond with any element with a hole or an electron

I’ve been having some Thoughts™️ about the weird meta paradox of gerri kellman’s sexuality. as basically The Older Woman on the executive floor she’s trying as much as is possible to blend in with her male colleagues while also not being perceived to be doing so. muted colours and understated makeup. a competent filing cabinet. her husband is dead and her daughters are nameless. she was sexual once but that’s out of sight out of mind and now it’s just the work. it must be a relief in some ways to become finally unfuckable because you’re over 40. she can finally be taken seriously, but only if she toes the line between being too female and not female enough. trying but not too hard. desirable in the past tense only. an honorary man but still in a skirt. and while the men around her can fuck their much younger assistants and get sports massages and run a sex trafficking ring on a cruise ship, she is the job and only the job and that keeps her safe. for a bit anyway.
the irony of gerri saving the company from the full legal extent of a sex scandal by dating someone from the DOJ??? like i’ll never be over it. even filing cabinets have to flatter and please and fuck when called upon. i genuinely don’t believe any of the other execs could have swung it because they’re not women. she dated laurie (generally unseen unless framed from another man’s possessive perspective) to save the men from going to jail for covering up rape allegations. the irony is delicious. and even though she did that, she’s discarded once she’s framed sexually. Dick Pic Gate was out of her control and yet when confronted with any element of gerri’s sexuality (even her PASSIVE sexuality, even after using it to save his company), logan dismisses her as weak or impractical or failing or whatever other excuse he uses to justify his disgust.
i would argue that roman’s interest in gerri is not in spite of but BECAUSE of her asexual framing. it’s a challenge that he’s never going to win which is ideal for his impotency issues; he can push and push and get the thrill out of it, out of the fucked up power dynamic, but he knows he’ll never have to actually fuck her. it’s all hypothetical: down a phone, through a door, half-joking, covered in sensible skirt suits. gerri’s deliberate lack of sexualizing is counterintuitively a turn-on for roman. and i bet the game of chicken they play is freeing for her too because the fact that she has to be professional and cannot be sensual is part of the fun of it. “roman is weird about gerri”. “it’s fucking disgusting”. not because of their family history, or their professional positions, but because she’s old. because the absence of her sexuality is enough of a presence to be off-putting. shiv patronising her about it as a power play is so weird because she’s talking to her simultaneously like a child and like an old woman, and gerri, agency-less, just has to keep reassuring her “i can cope”.
BUT it’s worse than that because it’s so meta. Because gerri is hot. her actor is attractive and like roman, many people watching find her sexless, no-nonsense framing to be titillating. me included. what if roman likes gerri not because of oedipal issues but just because she’s hot and god forbid we find a woman over 50 hot? but whether or not gerri is hot in the context of the show shouldn’t be a big deal, she should have been able to escape this by now!!! she’s in her 60s she’s a widow she’s tired stop sexualizing her!!! but don’t NOT sexualize her either because that’s problematic too and old women can be hot and old women shouldn’t have to be hot and suddenly i’m making gerri do what waystar does and exist as something sexual and non-sexual at the same time. she has a huge plotline in which she’s essentially a sex object. whether or not gerri is fuckable is talked about as much in the show with mildly-disgusted fascination as it is in the real world!!! she can’t win she’s hot she’s old she’s sexually framed she’s deliberately trying not to be she wants sex she doesn’t want sex she’s covering sex with sex and she’s telling roman to leave her alone so she can just do her damn job because she knows that this is what will bring her down!!! sex scandals historically don’t get men fired but an unsolicited dick pic knocks gerri off her podium in logan’s head forever. even now i’m talking about it at such length because i’ve given it so much thought!!! she’s the only woman in the old guard and she’s one of the most sexualized characters in succession. but only as a joke. in the abstract. never actually. because that would be weird. right?

I haven’t seen anyone talk about Alastor’s cannibalism in relation to his relationship with Vox
So with most cannibalistic serial killers the reason they are people wasn’t because they liked the taste. It’s about full control and psycho-sexual desire as consumption.
The want of control is obvious all though Alastor’s character over himself and others. From the way he clearly gets joy out of ordering Husk around and literally owning his soul to his own ever-present smile (if we assume he’s not forsed into it as has not yet been confirmed) as a means of controlling his own character at all times. But with cannibalism it’s more than that, it’s control over your victim ever after they died, the power to not only control their souls but their body
And that’s where the psycho-sexual part of it comes in. In resent years movies like “raw” and “bones and all” we see what has always been a part of cannibalism: desire. Because it’s not only the power, it’s also the feeling of consumption, of becoming one with your victim. I’m a way, that’s not too different from sex in it’s most pure and carnal. In real killers most of the cases of cannibalism are sexual, with sex crimes accompanying. We can assume Alastor wasn’t like that, but the element or the carnal desire that plays such a big part in cannibalism still follows his character.
All of that to say that the desire that Alastor can feel in his own twisted way towards other demons is… impossible with Vox. He’s not made of flesh and bone (most probably) and we don’t know if he ever was. There is nothing for Alastor to feel attracted towards, not even his body (in the most literal way). We can also play with the idea that Vox is a sort of Ship of Theseus-type cyborg replacing parts of himself with machine one by one until there is none left as we do not know of any other demons in hell who are anywhere like him. So even if Alastor could feel that sort of way towards Vox, it is no more. And on the other side, if Vox was literally re-born as machine (maybe as ironic punishment for trying to be like one on earth like cutting off his emotions, etc) than that Alastor finds most desirable in a person was never there in Vox to begin with.
This parts a bit of stretch but even without the cannibalism Alastor thrives in watching people who are hopeful, souls who try and fail over and over again. Which maybe, as a machine, Vox originally wasn’t. Maybe at the start of their relationship he was calculating and unemotional which pairs well with Alastor’s own mask of detachment and indifference but also makes him completely uninteresting to Alastor as a subject of desire. But on the other hand Vox isn’t just machine, he’s a TV and his character reflects the media’s reactionary and emotional judgment. I just don’t know how Alastor ever worked with Vox if he’s always had the mindset we see in the show. But if that’s the case Alastor does feed on Vox’s desperation but never fully, never truly desiring him the consuming, power-play way that he feels most strongly (aka the want to eat him). I present you with both readings of Vox’s past emotional state as we do not as of now know what their relationship has been before
TLDR: Vox is the pinnacle of un-fuckable to Alastor, as even though he does not feel sexual desire the cannibalistic part of him can feel the psycho-sexual want to consume a body. Which he can’t with Vox who is machine.

I’d love to hear what other have to say about a machine loving a cannibal so please feel free to share your readings in the tags

Do you have any favourite scary movies?
Tumblr media
I love the ambiguity and grief of The Orphanage, and the main character's emotional journey is absolutely gutting.
Tumblr media
The Strangers has some of the most subtle, dread-inducing scares of any horror film of its era; if you liked the hidden ghosts in Mike Flanagan's Haunting of Hill House, it owes some inspiration to this film, I think. It truly gave me nightmares.
Tumblr media
The newer Suspiria has really stayed with me, and I loved Flawed Peacock's analysis of the film on Youtube as well. I watched both this and the original back-to-back a few months ago, and they're both great in different ways, but nothing tops the haunting, sickening beauty of the end of this one.
Tumblr media
28 Days Later is the only zombie movie for me, and yes part of that is because Cillian Murphy was so fuckable in it. I'll never forget the quiet, contemplative air of this movie, which is rivaled only by The Last of Us games. The zombie genre is bloated with derivative crap, but this movie rang in a whole new generation, and did it so well you don't need most of the rest.
Tumblr media
The original Saw is a hell of a stage-play-slash-bottle-episode, and it's far more sophisticated in its writing than any of the rest in the series. It really holds up in my opinion.
Tumblr media
The Cell isn't really that scary, to me, but it's fucking cunty as hell with incredible costumes and set pieces, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Bonus points for having a minor corruption/hypnosis aspect really tickled my imagination. I just wish that element had lasted for longer.
Tumblr media
Speaking of movies that are actually plays -- there's no better Stephen King adaptation than Misery. Kathy Bates absolutely crushes in a nauseating, confining performance here, and the hobbling scene is one you just never forget. To me it's a perfectly paced film, and it holds up shockingly well in the era of stans and superfandoms.
Tumblr media
Ghost Ship is my favorite bad stupid horror movie. The opening scene is enough creative nonsense carnage to justify its existence, but stick around through the end for a very weird trip-hop montage.
Tumblr media
Dead Silence is another goofy one that gets really inventive with its gore. I love horror movies that do just downright disrespectful, creepy shit with corpses, and that's what this one is all about.
Tumblr media
The Boy is a fucking laugh riot to me. The entire premise is so transparent from the very beginning and the thrills are so awkward and tame that it's a great Halloween party movie. If you're anything like me, you and your friends will walk around the house talking about the Boy for days afterward. Brahms is an age regressor king
Tumblr media
Some people find Aronofsky's movies to be too over-the-top to connect with, but I think he nailed the internal horror of perfectionism, codependency, sexual repression, and eating disorders with Black Swan. Barbara Hershey's character is so perfectly unsettling that it sets all my people-pleasing, abandonment-fearing issues alight every time. Everything about this movie is confining and distorting, which is exactly how it feels inside when you narrow your entire life to a singular pursuit and are governed by impossible rules.
Tumblr media
The Others has exactly what I need for a horror movie to have good replay value: just like The Orphanage, it's final reveal is more depressing and unsettling than it is pure scary, which makes it cut deeper, and it recontexualizes the whole rest of the film. The interiors and aesthetics are great.
Tumblr media
Possession is easily the most disturbing movie on this list. This one cuts deep in a confusing, unmooring way -- it makes you feel sick in your soul, hopeless, and put off from relationships. Filming it reportedly ruined Sam Neil & Isabelle Adjani's lives for a good while, and you can see why. This film is the psychological reality of divorce in its unabashed form. To really leave behind a life you once committed yourself to, you have to become almost unrecognizable to yourself, and do great violence to both your former self, and the ones you love. This film gets that, and it's painful. It makes you feel disgusting for wanting things or for staying in a place where you're unhappy.
Happy watching!

Who of the heroes would prefer Bathtub and who would prefer shower sex?
xdinary heroes - bathtub vs shower sex
Tumblr media Tumblr media

cw: mentions of unprotected sex, fingering & handjobs
a/n: this is such a good question it made me think as if it was a science project
Tumblr media
bathtub sex
♡ gunil
he appreciates a romantic intimate moment so i can see him surprising you by filling up the bathtub, dropping some rose petals, while scented candles burn from different angles of the room, and preparing a glass of your favorite drink
he gently washes your hair, as you lay in his arms and talk about your day. he gives you a neck massage, and rubs your back softly with a loofah. he loves taking care of you, taking all the weight off your shoulders
inevitably in one moment his cock starts poking at your lower back though. the soft humming sounds that escape through your lips, as he caresses your upper body become too much for him at one point. it leads to you leaning forward on your knees, and gripping onto the tub tightly so he can rub your clit from behind, and watch the water sway over your ass. until he begins to thrust into you roughly and there’s almost no water left
♡ hyeongjun/junhan
i can see junhan as a big fan of doing after care with you, so spending some time in the tub after sex would definitely be one of his favorite activities, until one day you use it for a second round
you’re sitting across each other inside the soothing water and chat for a while. a nice conversation that gradually slows down as your bodies loosen up, and turns into a moment of peacefully shared silence between the two of you. but you cannot resist how pretty he looks sitting there in the water with his messy hair half wet and eyes closed shut; how fuckable he looks when he throws his head back and you see his adam apple move deliciously. so you lean towards him, pressing your bare chest to his and kiss him with a burning affection. that’s how it starts, and it ends up with you riding him till you both realise that the bathtub can be used for other purposes too
♡ jooyeon
i have a feeling he enjoys both a lot for different reasons, but i put him here, because we all know he loooves laying down and having his partner on top just devouring him. he’s such a big receiver. i also think he has a thing for lazy sex, especially after a long day. he appreciates a lazy sunday with a late afternoon nap, that follows up with a sensual fuck or just a jerk off session from your hand ~ that’s why i think on most days he prefers the bathtub, because he gets to relax and have you pleasuring his cock at the same time, till the really needed climax washes over him and he feels like a whole new person
he enjoys resting his arms on both sides of the tub, while he follows the rolling motions of your hips, that cause water spillage on the bathroom floor. the sight really turns him on, and he might make you rub yourself under the water too
after you both cum he embraces you in his arms, and you lay for awhile in a soothing silence, while he brushes through your hair with his fingers
shower sex
♡ jiseok/gaon
he definitely has fun sneaking into the shower while you’re there, because everything about it turns him on - the sight of body gel dripping down your body parts, the warm heat that makes both your bodies hot, the water slipping through your lips as you make out. there’s so many elements to this that arouse all of his senses
and the sounds, oh my god! it won’t be kwak jiseok if he doesn’t spin you around to fuck your pussy from behind - wether it’s with fingers or his cock (most times both), and obsess over the splashing noise coming from your body’s contact with the falling water. he observes the jiggles of your ass, and how your hair sticks to your neck, meanwhile your moans melt in the humid air, causing him to hold back from cummin multiple times
definitely fucks you from behind in a chokehold ~
♡ jungsu
let’s say your shower doesn’t have a lot of room… jungsu would love to fuck there
the limited space really does it for him. he enjoys pinning you against the tiled wall, both arms around you, leaving you with nowhere to look except at him; leaving you no choice, but to brush your naked skin against his. if it’s your first time together in the shower you might be a little bit shy at first and he would find that attractive
to help your nerves relax he would offer to wash your body for you, and he’d do a pretty good job before making himself even more horny - i mean, he uses his hands instead of your loofah, so it was expected. after he gets the first few moans out of you just from streching you out with his fingers he gets really excited. if your voice echoes so pretty now, imagine how it’s gonna sound like when he gives you his cock
♡ seungmin/o.de
i have a feeling he loves blowjobs/handjobs in the shower. his jerk off sessions might often take place in the bathroom if you ask me
definitely the type to offer showering together before going out, cause it will save us time
at first, you really do shower, but when you move onto using your body wash it’s over for him. his cock immediately reacts to you running your loofah down your neckline, over your nipples, and bringing it low to your tummy
he pulls you by your free hand, asking if you’re doing it on purpose, but you’re literally just washing yourself. you know what that means, it’s not the first time, nor will it be the last. you jack him off with your quick fist, as he stays still, letting the water fall down his back. the erotic look of your wet hair, wet lips and body wash slipping down your figure makes him extra sensitive. your tits half covered in soap bounce with every move of your hand, and suddenly he wants you to squat, so he can shove his cock between them - that was a first

Okay, normally this wouldn’t be something I’d go near at all, but I saw some things fly past my dash on the new James Somerton youtube controversy, and I vaguely remembered watching one of the guy’s videos a while back (I can’t actually remember which one, I just remember he was talking about growing up in a poor town where people were paid under the table as a regular fact of life? I can’t remember the topic, which maybe says something about the dude’s presentation style). So I got curious and watched first hbomberguy’s plagiarism video and then Todd in the Shadow’s misinformation video on the guy. The basic takeaway of which appears to be that 90% of his output is stolen, and the parts that aren’t are often wildly incorrect instead. Anyway. I realise this is a weird thing to get hung up on given the much more serious issues of, you know, plagiarism and theft and misogyny and frankly astonishing opinions on queer history, but …
There’s a section in Todd’s video (around 1.25.00) about Somerton’s interpretations of various vampire media from his video on ‘Vampires and the Gays that love them’, and I got to ‘Gary Oldman was the first fuckable Dracula’, and … what?
It’s around 38.10 in Somerton’s video, and the full quote is as follows:
“Again, the significant element here is how readily Coppola depicts a vampire who fucks, whereas Dracula is more prominently depicted as a reclusive humanoid monster. From Nosferatu, Plan Nine from Outer Space, Salem’s Lot, the Last Voyage of the Demeter, this figure has almost exclusively been painted white, and shown with clownishly monstrous features. But Coppola creates a monster for whom the audience looks at and completely understands what Mina is so horny about.”
I’m going to leave out everything else he says about Coppola’s Dracula, because … wow, there’s a lot of interesting opinions in there, but …
Christopher Lee. And Bela fucking Lugosi.
The man cannot be unaware of the two single most famous depictions of Dracula ever put on film, right? Dracula has been ‘more prominently depicted’ as the Nosferatu-inspired Count Orlok type monstrosities, and Coppola’s is the first ‘sexy Dracula’ on film? Like. What?
As Todd says, anyone even passingly aware of Dracula films is gonna go … Hammer? Universal? Bela Lugosi. The single portrayal that has been shaping Dracula’s iconography for nearly a literal century? THE film Dracula? The one literally everyone is going to think of?
Like. It’s such a weird choice. If he was going to say something about what you could get away with onscreen now vs in the 60s or 30s, or about the evolving tension between the sexier Draculas vs the more monstrous, which Chris Lee’s Dracula was an element of, a more visceral, animalistic portrayal vs Lugosi’s suave charm, arriving to what Coppola’s could actually explicitly put on the screen, but … This is framed like Universal and Hammer just didn’t exist. At all. It cherry-picks such a weird selection of examples of the Nosferatu style portrayals (and not even of Dracula, just vampires in general), and just flat never mentions the two single most famous Dracula film franchises ever made.
I’m curious what the comment section for this video was like. It’s been locked down now because of the controversy, so I can’t tell, but I’m assuming … I mean, that can’t have flown, right? As Todd says, literally anyone could have picked up on that one.
It’s just such a strange thing to choose to say. There maybe is a fair bit to say about ideas of sexiness in film across different decades, or if he meant that Coppola’s Dracula was the first to literally fuck on screen because of what could be shown in different eras, or even which Dracula he personally found most sexy, but …
Why would you choose to say, with a straight face, that Dracula has most prominently been depicted Nosferatu-style when literally anyone with the remotest knowledge of Dracula is going to point directly at Bela Lugosi and his ninety years worth of imitations and rejections and parodies and rebuttals? Nosferatu is a silent era classic and a periodic cult revival for vampire depictions, but THE movie vampire in popular consciousness is still Lugosi’s suave, sinister European nobleman in classy eveningwear. Any random Joe Soap off the street is gonna know that. Saying the Nosferatu depiction is the most prominent is just flat not true and everyone knows it.
Sorry. Again, I know this is a weird thing to get hung up on, but it’s such a weird choice. I get selective cherry picking of evidence to make your chosen point, but you can’t just ignore the one depiction that literally everyone knows and expect them to just nod along. Right?
Anyway. Weirdness aside. Carry on.

WIP Questionnaire Tag!
Thanks for the tag @nczaversnick!
This is for Verum II: The Robotic Era
What's the first part of your WIP that you created?
Since TRE is the second book of a series, the characters and rough world building had already been created before I started. I think I began with writing all my ideas down for the story line.
If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?
It would definitely be a metal song. Maybe orchestral death metal mixed in with some cyber elements.
What are your favorite characters you've made? Why?
I think it's Dethra. He's very hot, funny and badass. At least to me. I just love big scary killer machines that could crush me in an instant, lol.
What other pieces of media do you think your fanbase would share?
Uhhhh… idk?
How do characters travel/get around?
Planes and cars. And of course they’ll also walk if their destination isn't too far.
What part of your WIP are you working on right now?
Currently I'm writing a part that is on the easier to digest and on the funnier side, since the last two were rather heavy. It's Luce, Dethra and Bluctro traveling to India.
What aspects/tropes do you think will draw your audience in?
There's polyamory, fuckable robots and a fuckable alien… I think this is the first time that I say this, lol. It's also a little Dead Dove: Do Not Eat-y.
What are your hopes for your WIP?
I hope that I will gain some readers, since my first book isn't doing well (justified, it's bad as hell, lol). Having a fan base that loves my work, talks about the characters and eventually even makes fan art and fanfiction of it would be my absolute dream. But I doubt I'll get to that point any time soon.

In defence of-
Lea'zel
Honestly Lea'zel has become one of my favorite characters. She's just a regular person who thinks they've encountered the worst case scenario only to find out over and over again that no in fact things can get worse and I identify with that pretty hard.
Is she rude? Yeah, even if you give her the benefit of the doubt based on her past and current situation she still makes choices that are unkind. Then again that's an interesting facet of her character whether you play a good or evil tav, Lea'zel doesn't care. At the start of the game she is the most Neutral on the good/evil alignment scale.
Let's talk about that benefit of doubt for a moment. Besides the cultural difference (especially if you the player are American, I'm from the Midwest and a close friend of mine is from Germany its wild). She is indoctrinated by a tyrannical eugenisit society. She only lasted as long as she did because she is so brutal. Then she went on her holy mission (that she later realizes the only purpose was to prime her for being used) and she's kidnapped by the most despised and evil creatures she could think of, infected with the worst possible affliction her people could think of, thrust into literal hell, all before you learn the wasd controls. Then she crash lands on a hostile planet alone and having to figure out how to survive the world and the parasite without any direction.
Tell me you could go through all that and not end up a little cranky.
And after all of that what does she do? She tries to bring yu to th creche, which once you get there is obviously not part of the protocol. And there is some element of her wanting help navigate the new strange planet, but she'll threaten to go on her own a few times if you don't go with her, so she's not scared of forging the path alone. I genuinely think she's trying to help you more than she wants help from you.
You know the fastest way to get approval from her in a good game? Letting her speak for herself when her people try to speak over her to you.
I'm not here to tell you she's a secret cinnamon roll who has been traumatized into wearing a sharp shell, this isn't shadowheart, I just want to say her story is so much more enjoyable if you think about it from her perspective.
Also I do have to point out that there are other characters just as morally grey and murderous, but everyone gives him a pass because he's hot. Like who you like, I just get tired of people bashing characters because they don't find them fuckable. Also Lea'zel is pretty hot, you just have no taste

Ok, so this is for a later thing,  it's a cool idea but I feel there may be some idea conflict.
But if say a human turned spider lady,  like a human from the waist up and a spider from the waist down.   She has the big underneath spider part,  all I can think of is that spider lady from that monster Munsane but I know other media have examples of what I'm talking about.
Ok, so she can lay eggs cause she's a spider,  could be an alien spider so each egg has one spider. She doesn't lay full-grown spider people but spider minions eggs for some fantasy element.  The first question is how does she lay them? Or how does she get fucked to be able to lay eggs?  I mean you could give her a working vagina where it would normally go on a human but do eggs come out there as well? Oh does she lay them at the end of her spider body?
If you give her an ovipositor,  where would it go?  Like in the back as well?  Could she fill someone with unfertilized/Fertilized eggs? like she fills someone for safekeeping until she can find someone to help Or do they hatch as clones?
Sorry for any confusion.
Go the drider way, if you want; human torso up, then the body of a spider, a heavy ovipositor that emerges from the back of her abdomen. Or you can have her with a human, fuckable vagina at the front and her spider ovipositor for eggs at the back. Trap a man, breed from him then roll him over and fill his ass deep with the now-fertile eggs...

In a way, Zero is a love song, too. "Check this guy out, he's so cool and strong and fuckable"
But then we could argue if it's Lucilius referring to himself, since it is his theme, or if we're going with the headcanon that Belial "wrote" Zero in his simpery
oh yeah completely. cue to one meme i made forever ago about what i think is going on when i listen to Zero:
Tumblr media
more seriously, Zero feels like a duet to me, or at least, meant to be from different people.
the Give praise part feels like they are from Belial talking about Lucilius, showing him off, mentioning just how perfect he is.
but the moment the existential questions about what is a god and everything start to hit, it's Lucilius speaking, and then for the rest of the song i do think it's mostly Lucilius's POV. Some of the element of the existentialism and the distress felt toward the song felt more like Lucilius' own feelings toward Bahamut.
The "give praises" part seems like Belial's introducing him more than anything.
That's how i feel it anyway, but yeah.
Bahamut quivers before him.

@fatummortem sent a meme: "If you want to talk, how about you keep your brand of 'charm' to yourself this time?" (bobby)
Tumblr media
Krakoa might have changed Fang ( as it has for everyone ) for the so-called better but some things just stay the same.
Like, for one: Trolling, tormenting and teasing the Iceman.
"No. Come on. You like the attention." He's two steps behind him, perpetually following him as he eats a cone of ice cream. No, not in a sexy euphemism way, just a hungry one.
"So, who're you hooking up with nowadays? Like. Other elementals? That lava guy?" A hand reaches out to touch an icy shoulder. "How about ferals? We're pretty fuckable. You into bear-men?"

I want to say something I've been wanting to say since that scene aired but you all are gonna laugh at me because I'm bi, so of course I'd say that. But...
It kinda IS normal to 'check out' other people even if you're not attracted to them, and I would say women do that even more unashamedly than men, and they talk about that too. They will look at each other's boobs and go "wow your boobs look great in this top". You can appreciate aesthetics and the form of another human being without being attracted to them. Same as I can look at a horse and say "wow, what a beautiful horse. Look at that shiny mane" and not want to fuck it.
But there's definitely a difference between appreciating the form objectively, and really 'checking out' someone you then describe as 'hot'. As a bisexual, the lines can get so blurred sometimes though. Because, what is attraction other than appreciation of the form with an added element? And that added element so rarely gets explored. You don't always see an attractive person and instantly go "omg I wanna fuck them" - at least not in every day interactions where you see them as just another fellow human being occupying the same space as you. You don't usually go around and instantly have sexual fantasies about strangers even if you consider them attractive.
I dunno if I'm getting this across properly, but that added element can be so subtle and difficult to distinguish. So that would explain why Buck never really picked up on it.
Also, attraction is much more complex than just seeing the physique of a person for 5 seconds and categorizing them as 'fuckable' or not. It's vibes, it's the way a person smiles, the tone of their voice, the way they move, or the way they talk and flirt with you (he's interesting, he's confident, he's cool). It's that which affects and sometimes changes that more objective, theoretical and general category; a person you could consider physically attractive can become unattractive if these things feel wrong, and an on first glance not strikingly attractive person can become really attractive when they match.
TL;DR: attraction vs. objective appreciation can be hard to distinguish, especially when heteronormative behavior has worked out nicely for you.
Like Maddie absolutely told Buck “it’s not—abnormal” to check out a hot guy’s ass and then thought “but when I check out a hot woman’s boobs it’s completely normal and a very different situation”
