I saw one of my Tumblr mutuals on Hinge. It's eye-opening, realizing and re-realizing how big of a city I live in now. I did not run into these issues in Pittsburgh. My flabbers were too gasted to like anything, but I should've. He seems cool. I just couldn't think of a non-weird way to tell him we follow each other on Tumblr. Lord, the embarrassment if he didn't recognize me too? Couldn't do it lol.

I am not and never have been the type of woman to enjoy receiving flowers all like that. I love the gesture and can absolutely appreciate the sentiment of being thought of and considered in that way, but flowers never did anything for me.

My parents and my sister call me the Family Manager. My friends call me the Mama Bear of the group. And then not understanding her attitude when she just took over and did it herself. Now Hannah ain't nowhere near perfect, but I fully understood her frustration there.

“A US federal judge has refused prosecutors’ request to prohibit the maker of the 1990s rap classic Bling Bling “from promoting and glorifying future gun violence/murder” in songs and at concerts while on supervised release from prison, saying such a restriction could violate his constitutional right to free speech.

But the artist known as BG must provide the government with copies of any songs he writes moving forward, ahead of their production or promotion – and, if they are deemed to be inconsistent with his goals of rehabilitation, prosecutors could move to toughen the terms governing his supervised release.

That mixed ruling came Friday from US district court judge Susie Morgan in the latest development to a case that prompted discussions in some circles about an American musician’s rights to free expression under his country’s constitution – as well as his need to financially support himself – with federal authorities’ obligation to enforce the supervised prison release plan which he accepted.

Dorsey fell under scrutiny from federal probation officers after he performed at a concert in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he now lives, alongside fellow rapper Boosie – and he had also released an album with 2020 Grammy nominee Gucci Mane.

People on supervised release are generally required to “refrain from … associating unnecessarily with” those who have prior felony convictions, among other conditions, according to officials.

Both Boosie and Gucci Mane – under their respective legal names, Torence Hatch Jr and Radric Davis – each have prior felony convictions, prosecutors have said. Prosecutors also maintained that Dorsey did not obtain the necessary clearance to produce such work, which they argued also undermined his goals of rehabilitation, citing lyrics that exalted a pair of men who are serving sentences of life imprisonment after being linked to multiple murders in a drug dealing and gang-violence racketeering case.

Parole officers in March successfully requested that Dorsey be arrested. His attorneys established that those monitoring at a halfway house before he was granted supervised release had provided him with the necessary permission, and the musician was soon freed from custody on his own recognizance.

But he had to return to court in his hometown of New Orleans after prosecutors asked Judge Morgan to require him to refrain “from promoting and glorifying future gun violence/murder” as well as threats against people who cooperate with the police in songs and at concerts, among other requests.

Prosecutors contended that such lyrics echoed some of the conduct leading to Dorsey’s prior imprisonment and “are inconsistent with the goals of rehabilitation”.

Dorsey’s attorneys, Billy Gibbens and David Chesnoff, argued that preemptively ordering their client to avoid certain subject areas amounted to “an unconstitutional prior restraint of free speech”. In a five-page ruling, Morgan said Gibbens and Chesnoff “may be” correct, so she declined to impose such a condition.

But Morgan said prosecutors’ concerns over Dorsey’s goals of rehabilitation were “legitimate”. So she would have the artist turn his lyrics over to the government prior to putting out or promoting any songs he planned to use them in, and at that point if they are deemed to be “inconsistent with the goals of rehabilitation”, prosecutors could ask to modify Dorsey’s supervised release terms.

As prosecutors asked, Morgan also reiterated that Dorsey must not work with people previously convicted of felonies unless given permission to do so, among other special conditions. She furthermore ordered him to complete 400 hours of unpaid community service.

Dorsey had been transferred to a halfway house by fall 2023. And on 1 February, he began a two-year period of living under federal supervision outside the halfway house.”

According to a spokesperson for the San Diego County District Attorney’s office, rapper Boosie Badazz was arrested today. The spokesperson claims that Boosie was appearing in court for a recent gun case. The gun case was dismissed, however, Boosie was later arrested by federal agents outside of the courtroom. It’s currently unclear what the cause for Boosie’s arrest was.

Boosie pleaded not guilty to his gun charges last month. He was facing up to three years in prison for the four charges. Boosie was charged for felon in possession of a firearm, concealed carry weapon in a vehicle, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, and unlisted owner of a registered firearm. After his initial arrest, he was released on bond. He later performed in San Diego, where he encouraged fans to chant “f*ck San Diego police.”

Boosie also recently shared his interest in becoming a defense attorney, after he attended YNW Melly’s double murder trial. Rapper Boosie Badazz says if he were back in the antebellum South, he would probably be a slave.

During an interview with former battle rapper turned talk show host Math Hoffa, the “Wipe Me Down” chart-topper was asked about the almost equally controversial Kanye West.

Boosie shares on the “My Expert Opinion” show that he was “p##### off at Kanye West” last year when he made several inflammatory statements about the Black Lives Matter movement, George Floyd, the Jews, and slavery. He said he was so upset that he could not stop tweeting and “misspelling words” trying to get his outrage out on Twitter.

“I don’t like what Kanye do to our Black race,” the Louisiana recording artist said. “I don’t know what Blacks done done to him, bro.”

Math Hoffa jumped in and asked if he was referring to the White Lives Matter shirts— which caused an uproar with the other guests in the barber shop setting.

Still, Boosie didn’t get distracted. He was clear on what he feels Kanye’s perspective on is on Black people.

“[Ye] said slavery was a choice,” the guest blurted out.

Math Hoffa dropped a bomb and said he felt the same way, shifting the conversation to what he would have done if he was a victim of the Transatlantic Slave Trade (the MAAFA).

“I don’t,” Boosie said, vehemently shaking his head “no,” and mimicking what a whip might look like going against an enslaved person’s back.

Hoffa tried to challenge that and ask why didn’t people rise up and fight back or stop Europeans from going into Africa and stealing his ancestors. He asked why people didn’t risk their lives or choose death.

Boosie (nor many of the other guests) jacking Hoffa.

“I don’t agree with nothing Kanye West says about Blacks. I feel as a person, from what I seen him do and talk about Black people, I feel like he has no love or respect for the Black race,” the rapper said, adding, “I feel he loves the white race more.”

To this point, Math Hoffa brought the infamous 2005 Hurricane Katrina telethon and Ye’s comments about the then-sitting president.

Boosie was clear.

“He said ‘George Bush doesn’t care about Black people,’” the rapper said, “but he shows he doesn’t love Black people.”

One of Boosie’s problems with Kanye is that he believes the artist has a dynamic platform but has chosen to use it multiple times to tear down and “disgrace” Black people, particularly pointing at his comments regarding Floyd.

As the conversation intensified, Hoffa asked Boosie if would he have fought to the death to not be enslaved or have his family members enslaved.

“At that time, I am going to do what I have to do to stay alive,” Boosie said. “If I run, I’ma die.”

“Now let me flip it on you. If a million of your brothers and sisters got burned up in a fire, would you like somebody talking about them or saying anything that is not supporting them?” he asked Math Hoffa.

Hoffa didn’t answer the question, perhaps not understanding that Boosie was referencing the Jewish Holocaust.

During the discussion, Hoffa continued to be challenged, even by his co-host who said, “You’re speaking from the perspective of a free man. You don’t know what it feels like to be in captivity. You have no idea what that is like and to sit there and judge someone who was…”

Boosie jumps in and says, “You don’t know if you’ve never been in captivity. Some people not gonna run if you over them with guns and whips on your back.”

Hoffa asked, “What you gonna do?”

“I wouldn’t know. I wasn’t in captivity,” Boosie, a man from the deep South, answered.

“If I run, I’ma die. I probably would have been a motherf##king slave,” he said. “If I was born in captivity…”

Math interrupts and says, “You? That’s hard to believe.”

The consensus of Boosie and the other host, “It’s hard to think about being born into captivity.”

“That’s just like me being born in the hood and staying a hood n##ga. If I was born into captivity and all I know since a child is praising and being took care by a white man I probably would have been a f##king Django or a slave overseer. I would probably be f##k up,” he said.
