The second annual Sailor Moon Villains Week will take place the week of October 6-12, 2024 (the second week of October) !

You may post your works on Tumblr, AO3, Deviantart, or anywhere you choose so as long as you link them in your Tumblr posts if they are off-site. All ratings are allowed, so long as NSFW work is properly tagged and follows the rules of the platform it’s posted on. Be sure to use the "read more" option if necessary (if you post a full fanfiction on Tumblr, to hide NSFW content, or potentially triggering content).

You can add your AO3 works to our designated collection for the event smvillainsweek2024. You can also add your works to our DeviantArt group. Feel free to also use the hashtag #smvillainsweek24 on Twitter or Instagram too.

Submissions should focus on at least one villain from any Sailor Moon media (manga, 90s anime, musicals, live actions, Crystal) at their core along with the daily theme. Ships are allowed as long as they contained at least one villain within the pairing. It doesn't have to focus on or even include a ship, given this week celebrates the Sailor Moon villains. Basically, as long as you're writing/ drawing/creating something featuring a Sailor Moon villain, it's all good.

i haven’t watched the anime on my phone to screenshot yet so i don’t have any good pics but KIRYUU <33 he’s the longish haired person. can you tell he’s my favourite. and Nirei being best supporting character <33

i had mixed feelings about kiryuu at first cuz i was uncertain about his vibe BUT HES AMAZING

kaji is a favourite too!!! his headphones, lollipop and hoodie is so iconic. i also love his parallel to sakura! sakura has someone to ask advice for who’s similar to him :))

introducing the four kings of furin/bofurin!

MOMOSE, the zojo king (the guy with a hood and sweater paws) we don’t know much about him yet (i hope we get more) but i just like him so he’s a favourite! so my top three are kiryuu, kaji and momose, in no particular order

tsubakino, the jikoku king (the one in the second frame)! the way the whole town just accepts them!! and their crush is treated like any other normal crush! they’re so older sibling vibe i love them so much

hiragi, the tamon king (the one in the third frame)! the dad of the group and the one who pops those stomachache pills/tablets like it’s nothing. tbf having to deal with the leader of furin, who legit yells into the broadcast mic thing, isn’t easy 😭

mizuki, the komoku king (the guy in the first frame)! nothing much is known about him either but he’s seems serious and is the strategy person of furin. also he takes off his glasses when he fights which is just really cool

also i realise i haven’t said this but the one with dual colored hair (kinda like todoroki shouto) is the main character of the manga, sakura, who’s goal is to be at the top of furin! he’s got ✨ trauma ✨ but he’s slowly learning to accept and rely on people :)) he also blushes at any kind of romance (and also when he’s shy or embarrassed), even hand holding. i don’t know how he’s gonna date people honestly

and of course, the leader/representative of furin, hajime umemiya! he’s really just like an elementary school kid, as Suo says. hes the sunshine character who you wouldn’t wanna piss off. he’s also the one who united furin with the four kings when they used to be a dog-eat-dog kind of school, so major respect to him!

(the next one contains a bit of spoiler on suo?? idk but just a warning. it’s more of a mini analysis)

a more formal introduction of suo and nirei, sakura’s vice captains and the supporting characters! nirei is good with people and collects information on people in his notebook. he’s the sunshine in the trio, and the other two are the sunshine protectors! suo is a joker, but don’t let that kind face get to you. he’s like the main instigator of most of the (harmless) shit that goes down in 1-1. he’s also mysterious with little information about him. oh and he doesn’t eat?? not in front of other people at least. i really wanna know his backstory tbh

but also:

suo. hes mostly easygoing with a smile on his face all the time. but also freaking scary when pissed off like if someone was looking at me like that i’d run and never look back. yes sakura is right, that’s not the face of someone who’s kind, not in this case. i’ll make a post psycho analysing him later

but he takes fourth on my favourite character list! then tsubakino, umemiya, nirei, hiragi, tsugeura, kusumi, suzuri, choji, togame, the twins etc. the list goes on.

point is: wind breaker is great and i highly recommend reading/watching it.

The more wretched and tragic a Shadaloo King’s past is, the more dastardly he becomes.

Balrog = Born from a poverty stricken family and must fight in the mean streets to earn money and recognition. All he cares about is money (and Ed). If he killed anyone, it’s by accident. Ok, he’s not that bad.

Vega = His mother was murdered by his stepfather. In turn, he killed his stepfather out of vengeance. This incident traumatized him and he became a murderous psychopath.

F.A.N.G = He was kidnapped as a kid from a notorious cartel, put into a poverty stricken environment, was forced to undergo the brutal poison training that so many of his childhood peers died from, and was tasked to kill the friends he used to care deeply about. After that, he cares for no one except Bison and will do any evil thing to survive…even attempted world destruction with the Black Moons.

M. Bison does not have a known sad past and Sagat has always been honorable.

I was chatting with @digitalagepulao about this image of Nalakubara holding Heavenly King Vaisravana’s stupa and realized that I didn’t know when the bearer of the golden stupa/pagoda shifted from Nalakubara/Nezha to Heavenly King Vaisravana/Li Jing.

My first hypothesis was that this is a change exclusive to China as Buddhism spread and continued to develop/affect Daoism. If anyone has information on this change I’m more than happy to receive it.

The four heavenly kings and their poison immunities:

Toriko: immune to some poisons so he can eat more food, a conscious decision that he made, probably chose the most common poisons and did them to cover his bases

Sunny: immune to some poisons because the foods/products that carry them are beautiful and he Will Not Be Denied Beauty even if it kills him AND because being poisoned really isn’t a good look on anyone so better become immune to avoid the embarrassment of that happening

Coco: immune to most every poison and creating more by the day because he’s got some crazy fascination with death and also he’s such a little freak about only finding things fun if his life is in danger and he took that a bit too far and now Can’t Die because his gourmet cells really took to Improvise Adapt Overcome in a way that killed his thrill seeking ways

Zebra: immune to some poisons not because he made the decision to but because he realized some foods made him sick and Zebra doesn’t adapt to things they adapt to HIM and clearly this food wasn’t adapting to his body so he ate it over and over again to teach it a lesson until it gave up on killing him. Poison: 0 Zebra: 1
