I think there’s a super easy way to justify Batman adopting his kids and turning them into vigilantes, it works weather it’s another universe or making it the origin of the main universe versions after another full on reboot.

Dick after his parents die is taken in by the Court of Owls who raise him to be the succession of The Judge, who’s the founder and leader of the CoW, which would explain why he wasn’t turned into a talon. He’s super fucked up when Bruce saves him, so Bruce decides to take him because there isn’t really that many options for a kid who saw his parents die in front of his eyes and then was raised by a supernatural cult for a bit.

Jason grew up in the streets of Gotham, it’s not that hard to come up for some reason that normal people can’t help him, make him the victim of a pro type of the Joker Venom that fucks him up but he can still be relatively normal most times.

Tim already had fucked up parents, parents who were interested in artifact. So let’s say his PoS parents left him around some supernatural artifact that mentally scared him for life and made him supernatural in some way.

I don’t need to over Damien, Duke, and Cass for obvious reasons.

Everyone now has super fucked experiences that no one is equipped to help them with, fuck even a therapist wouldn’t be enough at that point. So is it really that much a stretch to say them becoming child vigilantes who train to handle their supernatural ‘scars’ is the worst idea.

WB Animation Character Concepts, YOUNG JUSTICE: PHANTOMS, Lara and Jor-El. Media: Digital. For the Fourth Season of YOUNG JUSTICE, I was assigned two of the preeminent Kryptonians to design, the parents of Superman.  Basing my concepts on previous versions of Jor-El and Lara, including that of former Lead Character Designer Phil Bourassa, I came up with something suitable to use as the likenesses for the ice sculptures appearing in Superman's Fortress of Solitude.  They wanted Lara's hair exposed, rather than the tight cowl from earlier designs which may have been too cold, antiseptic, and soulless.  I added the El family crest to her outfit, with a cape that draped asymmetrically.  Stylized circlets suggesting modest crowns rather than plain and dated headbands added the right regal touch of status.  I gave  Jor-El's circlet more of a technological design, while Lara's is a bit more mystical.  Finally, along with Jor-El's obvious resemblance passed on to his son, I hinted even more at Superman with the colors of Jor-El's tunic beneath his robes, and the inner lining of the robe sleeves.  Of course, color didn't matter at all for the ice sculpture application, so this detail was for my own amusement.   #wbanimation #dccomics #youngjustice #cartoonart #characterdesign #superman #jorel #fortressofsolitude

Continuing our quartz thread from amethyst, this amazing quartz variety is RUTILATED QUARTZ🪡. This prized quartz is shot through with spikes of rutile, a mineral composed of titanium dioxide (TiO2). The rutile inclusions form delicate hair-like needles with submetallic luster that can range in color from silvery gray to black to reddish-brown to golden. The rutile spears most often grow first, in a rock cavity called a “vug”, and later the quartz fills in around them via hot mineral-laden water coming from deep in the earth and circulated by magma.   Rutile crystallizes in the tetragonal system with three mutually-perpendicular axes, and usually forms elongated prismatic crystals with striations (parallel linear grooves) on the surface. Its #crystals often exhibit a slender shape. The first specimen belongs to @microworldofgems, and I filmed it with the help of @mineralien. The second specimen is part of the Collection of the Harvard Museum of Natural History. This story is not about “the losers” – although plenty of them have secondary parts, and lots of walk-ons. We know those types. They fade into the background. Likely as well to bitch about how they’d never been given a chance. Losers.

Dylan Ebdus understands life differently. While having had to negotiate the micro-society of his childhood street (and, later, neighborhood) with rather poor results, he’s tattooed with the knowledge that one needs to learn something in order to make a life.

A Brooklyn landscape; a single street in Boerum Hill. That is: long before “fashionable neighborhood” was attached to this slice of low-rise cityscape. The set-up of black-white-brown friendship and its opposite. The aura of the place is enough to keep it full for any reader.
