It's a large order, but I'm sure it can be reached!
The International Cryptozoology Museum is looking to restore and inhabit this historical building located in Bangor, Maine! The museum's current locations are small and make the collection they hold seem crowded. It deserves a larger space to thrive in. It was built in 1945 and served as a garage and car dealership. But it was also eventually used as a laundromat, a taxi depot and a recycling center.
A number of things need to be done to this building to make it safe and modern. The money raised will go toward things like replacing windows and pipes. The International Cryptozoology Museum is a non-profit and relies on donations to survive.
Please consider donating and if you can't donate, sharing is so helpful!

Let me introduce myself…
Hey my name is Dean, I’m 44 and I’m from South Georgia. I tried tumblr years ago but it didn’t stick. I decided that I would give it another go. I wanted a place to sort out some of the shit that swims around in my mind and meet other like minded people. I’m a paranormal investigator, actor, and music lover. I love the world of high strangeness, and have an obsession with many topics in the Fortean world. I work for a company called “Nightshift Paranormal Events” and enjoy taking others on investigations in real haunted locations.I did vocals in a death metal band years ago and toured full time for a few years. I now work with an agency out of Atlanta as an actor and hope to eventually be able to act full time and work taking others on paranormal investigations. So yeah a lot of random shit haha. I’m a spiritual seeker and was once a devout Christian. I have tons of religious trauma from my past and now try to live a spiritual life with no labels, just love. Now, this brings me to another reason that I came to tumblr. I became a big Ethel Cain fan around 2 years ago. Hayden’s real life story and her character “Ethel Cain’s” story captured me through her beautiful, and haunting music. Then I found out that she was originally from North Florida and very close to where I live and grew up. I saw that she is active on tumblr so, I thought hey, maybe I can get the chance to convey to her just how much her music means to me, or at least keep up with the community of other fans! I also enjoy blogging, so I just decided to jump on here and give it a go. So yeah, stay tuned for some random shit haha!

The Sandown Clown
During the mid-1970’s, two small children would find themselves confronted by a mysterious figure, whilst holidaying on the Isle of Wight. From their description of this bizarre entity, it still remains unclear whether the encounter was paranormal or extra-terrestrial in nature. Join us as we explore the haunting story of the Sandown Clown.

Ep 292: American Bloodfalls with Tom Maxwell Part
"Usually these things of the accursed have been hushed up or disregarded—suppressed like the seven black rains of Slains—but, upon March 3, 1876, something occurred, in Bath County, Kentucky, that brought many newspaper correspondents to the scene." -- From Charles Fort’s ‘The Book of the Damned’ c. 1919, Chapter 4
Description:
In our conclusion to our two-part series on American Bloodfalls, we dive deeper into the mysterious phenomenon that baffled witnesses across 19th-century America. Our special guest, Tom Maxwell, guides us through more perplexing incidents of blood and meat raining from the sky, from the famous Kentucky Meat Shower of 1876 to the final recorded event in 1902. We examine the scientific analyses of the time, which often identified the fallen material as animal tissue yet failed to propose any reasonable theories about its origins. Tom helps us navigate the theories proposed over the years and why they fall short when confronted with eyewitness accounts and the scale of events. We’ll discuss connections to biblical accounts and consider how these events might reflect their time's cultural and spiritual climate. Then, of course, we’ll get to the theories, even though the mundane ones have been tough to identify with this legend. But yes, portals and UFOs will probably make the scene.. Tom helps us grapple with how these occurrences challenge humanity’s modern, materialist worldview and why meat showers and bloodfalls seem to have ceased by the early 20th century. Even after all of this time, they continue to defy explanation. However, that won’t stop us from trying to figure it out.

Born 150 Years Ago Today: The Still Living Charles Fort
“I believe nothing of my own that I have ever written” — Charles Fort, 1874-1932 Yes, Charles Fort died in 1932. He is only “still living” in the sense that “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus“. Fort still has followers, and people still delight in reading him. He may be considered among the principal founders of modern pseudo-scientific journalism. In his Book of the Damned (1919) and other…

The Petrozavodsk Jellyfish
Tumblr media
In 1977 a strange thing was seen over the skies of Petrozavodsk in the Soviet Union. TASS reporter Nikolai Milov described the object as "a huge star", that "flared up in the dark sky" at about 4am, "impulsively sending shafts of light to the Earth". According to Milov, "the star" spread out in the form of a jellyfish, "showering the city with a multitude of very fine rays which created an image of pouring rain". Milov further reported that "after some time the luminescent rays ceased" and "the jellyfish turned into a bright semicircle", which resumed its movement towards Onega Lake.
