The umbrella is a metaphor for her support. “Umbrella” stayed on top of the UK Singles Chart for 10 consecutive weeks, longer than any other single that decade. The single remained at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 for seven consecutive weeks. During the tracking week ending February 25, 2023, the song re-entered the Hot 100 at #37. The accompanying music video, directed by Chris Applebaum, was released on May 11, 2007. In 2008, “Umbrella” won a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, and was nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. This is the 6th song off of Fleetwood Mac’s critically acclaimed eleventh LP, Rumours. This song was written by vocalist Christine McVie. This ballad has won over the hearts of many for its soft and gentle sound and emotional lyrics about self sacrifice in love. Producer Kevin Caillat told Music Radar: “Christine started playing something she had written on the piano one day, and it floored me. It was so beautiful and special, so personal – I knew I had to get just the right recording of it. Before Rumours, I had recorded an album with Joni Mitchell at the Berkeley Community Theatre. I thought doing a similar kind of concert recital recording was perfect for Songbird. Christine and the whole band loved the idea. The Berkley Community Theatre wasn’t available, so we used the Zellerbach Auditorium, the same kind of vibe. Christine sat on the stage and played a nine-foot Steinway, and she sounded magnificent. I used 15 tracks for the piano – two close mics and the rest were distant mics. For something like ‘Songbird,’ I wanted the room to really speak.”

Hellooo anyone has any ideas how to self harm i mean anything else than cuting but with quite same felling i tried to do it with lighters but its not the same and only after cutting myself i look normal I don't make it deep enough to make them stay forever but i allways cane make like 30-40 of them i don't do it to deep couse im scared that they won't look similar i want to have my whole mahds covered by straight lines anyone has idea hov to do it other way ? Actually- I'm not sure if you did share- what were the ideas you had for cosplaying characters??? It was honkai right? But the honkai designs are so busy and filled with stuff... Idk how one would manage that. Though i guess there are simpler designs like ie Tesla who would also look really good!

So firstly i was thinking of doing that 1 ae outfit yk the beautiful purple dress but then it hit me first it would take forever to put on and idk how I'd walk in it.

Then i decided let me do a herrscher, that idea was very short lived bc have you seen how expensive they are😭😭 and most of them are kinda revealing to me so not for me. But i must say id love to see someone make a HoV cosplay id think it would be soo cool so someone tell me if you see one

Thenn i went to flamechasers so i obviously thought of my loml, Elysia but her outfit is wayy too short for me ( i might do her maid dress someday tho) mobius nopee bc i kinda want to keep my ability to walk😭, eden well not for me, felis wayy too short, aponia dont feel like dressing up like a nun so that leaves one person Grieso and her outfit is soo cute.

Then i started thinking of my favourite ships amd then i thought of bronya and seele (love those two) and then i thought why not do a seele cosplay then and i loved the idea amd i could definitely force convince someone very dear to me to cosplay bronya and if they say now I'll just cosplay the ship myself.

So im going to cosplay seele!! The outfit im going to get will be this one

A few weeks ago the soundtrack to the most recent Jeymes Samuel film, The Book of Clarence, dropped, and among its star-studded talent roster is a song called "I Want You Forever" featuring D'Angelo and Jay-Z. D'Angelo's psych-soul magnetism has only manifested on a few songs since the release of his classic 2014 LP, Black Messiah, (an original contribution to the Read Dead Redemption II soundtrack, features on songs for Rhapsody and Slingbaum, etc), so it's always a treat to hear the idiosyncratic recluse lend his talents to just about anything. While this 9.5 minute soundtrack cut from Jeymes, Jay, and D'Angelo overstays its welcome for a few minutes, and is hardly among the essential, boundary pushing cuts for either of the latter two, it's still a satisfying team-up propelled by D'Angelo's potent hook.

The music here is lush and sensual, with smokey bass grooves, shimmering synths, and percussion constructed to caress, betting the sentiments being conveyed at the song's core. While the music builds to a predictable, stock guitar solo juxtaposed awkwardly against the swelling strings, D'Angelo's simple but timeless hook "All I wanna say is that I love you so much/I don't want to be without you, I want you forever" builds in potency with each run. And Hov emerges out of the gates with one of the most touching verses that he's spit in years to complement D'Angelo's lead "Slept in the couch, 'cause the bed ain't a bed without you/Luther songs looped up in my head/Love you for my life, and I put that on my dead". While a little editing would've gone a long way, "I Want You Forever" is still a smoldering slice of soul that sees two iconoclasts in top form.

Nas "Ether" (2001)

Target: Jay Z

Album: Stillmatic

Label: Ill Will/Columbia

Best Line: "Eminem murdered you on your own shit"

After Jay Z dropped "Takeover," a sleeping giant was awoken in Nas, giving God's Son the kick in the ass he needed to get his career back on track. Where "Takeover" was prepared like a finely written essay, "Ether" was more like a lunchroom taunt.

After the classic "Fuck Jay-Z" vocal sample, a far more vile Nas went in, calling Jay Z a camel, accusing "Gay Z" of being a Nas stan, and questioning Hov on his overuse of recycled B.I.G. lyrics. So vicious was the attack that "ether" has now become a verb in the hip-hop lexicon, and the song was arguably the launching pad Nas used to revive his at-the-time waning influence.

3. Jay Z "Takeover" (2001)

Target: Prodigy, Nas

Producer: Kanye West

Album: The Blueprint

Label: Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam

Best Line: "Four albums in 10 years nigga? I could divide/That's one every, let's say, two/Two of them shits was doo/One was naahhh, the other was Illmatic/That's a one-hot-album-every-10-year average"

Jay Z and Nas had a longstanding rivalry and were engaged in a silent power struggle for years, but the shots remained (somewhat) subliminal until Jay Z called out Nas on stage at Hot 97's Summer Jam in 2001: "Ask Nas he don't want it with Hov." Nas subsequently took the bait and dissed Jay on his "Stillmatic" freestyle, prompting Jay to unleash the classic "Takeover."

Jay's response was crafted more like an essay than an actual battle rap, with Hov introducing the argument, analyzing the data, raising counter-arguments, and then concluding. Prodigy of Mobb Deep was dissed on the second verse, but this was dramatically overshadowed by Jay's beef with Nas. Hov's shots at P focused on his small stature, smaller record sales, and the infamous "ballerina" pic he flashed on the screen at Summer Jam 2001.

The Nas portion was far more brutal, attacking Nas' descent from hip-hop's top MC list to a guy who was now being out-rapped on posse cuts by his bodyguard. Jay went on to clown Nas' catalog, and on the final line alluded to sexing Nas' baby-mother, Carmen Bryan. Many speculated Nas' career would be finished after "Takeover," and some believe Prodigy was never able to recover.

2. 2Pac "Hit Em Up" (1996)

Target: Mobb Deep, Puffy, Junior M.A.F.I.A., Lil Kim, The Notorious B.I.G., Chino XL

Producer: Johnny J

Album: How Do U Want It [Single]

Label: Death Row/Interscope

Best Line: "That's why I fucked your bitch, you fat motherfucker"

Reworking the beat of the opponent's popular song? Check. Claiming relations with the opponent's baby-mama? Check. Poking fun at the opponent's physique and labeling him a biter? Check. Video parody? Check. Letting your little homies get in on the action? Check. On paper, 2Pac perfected and personified the diss song formula on "Hit Em Up," incorporating all of the elements those before him used to become victorious against their adversaries.

However, Pac kicked his up a few notches, taking this from a war of words to a war of coasts that eventually divided an entire hip-hop nation. What began as a beef between two rappers (Biggie and 2Pac) eventually turned into a battle between the West Coast-based Death Row Records and the East's Bad Boy Records, who were the top two labels in hip-hop at the time. This sent the media into a frenzy, who dubbed it the East Coast vs. West Coast war, which quickly became the most publicized and sensationalized hip-hop beef of all time.

In the wake of "Hit Em Up," two of hip-hop's greatest talents (B.I.G. and 2Pac) would be killed (both murders remain unsolved), changing the face of hip-hop—and beef—forever. This battle will forever be a reminder that, unless kept on wax, rap beef can quickly become real beef with dire consequences.
