Started crying this morning over just how overwhelming proud I am every time I remember how that tiny child that was hated and abused by all of his kingdom aside from one, that was so unnaturally small and so utterly powerless, that was suffering so badly he wanted to die—to scorn the world and then never return…became one the most powerful (and wealthy) men in all the three realms, so strong that even the heavenly emperor himself is wary of his power, so strong that only three others could ever rival him. Became the ruler of his own city—a city he built himself from the ground up, a city of misfits and monsters, of those lost and tossed aside by the world. A city where he is adored and respected greatly by all. Became so intent on remaining in this world that he defied and rejected death three times, looked it in the eye and firmly refused.

I am LIVING for the head cannon going around that Xie Lian has actually lost it centuries ago and his beautiful husband, Hua Cheng the Crimson Rain Sought Flower Ghost King himself, is actually a putrefied abomination/horrific creature of the night and he just doesn't see it.

Does anyone else wish we had more content of He Xuan in the original novel? He's literally one of the two ghost kings to ever emerge from mount Tonglu, and he did it in 12 years. He's definitely super strong, but we don't really get to see him fight any one on page. I also want to see how him and Hua Cheng met. It was probably so funny. I WANT HUA CHENG HU XUAN FRIENDSHIP. I also want to know how he met Shi Qingxuan. How did Wind Master decide they would be best friends. I NEED MORE BEEFLEAF BACKSTORY!
