”You’re gonna look so pretty, Sayuri! I mean—you already are. But you’re gonna be even prettier,” Kuina said, grinning as she twisted the delicate flowers into Sayuri’s hair. Her hands were gentle—she was trying her best not to pull too hard as she decorated Sayuri’s locks in colors of pink, white, and yellow.
“Perfect,” she whispers, moving her hands slowly as if any sudden movement might break the spell. “That’s my first time ever doing that. Do you like it?”
