Truly nothing has ever pissed me off so much as this animal. An abomination is what this is. And I'll never be free of it. He has haunted me for years. Remember back in 2021 when we all had some hope for arc 9? Maybe not much, but some. Flamepaw, they called him. And then it was 2022. The excerpt was released. And I knew it was over. Because they gave him mommy issues. But already he was garnering fans. Already, people were buying into his lies. And then the book came out. It was April 2022. The world would never be the same. The Big Sparkpelt Retcon. The name change. Stealing his new prefix from yet another woman continuously wronged by the narrative. He didn't even pick his own name but he pretends he did and thus the fanbase believes this to be true. Never in my life have I felt so hateful towards a creature such as this. I cannot stand him. I can hardly bear to look at his sprite. What a joke. His chapters were grueling and aggravated me to no end. I've never read from a POV this painful. Every word that leaves his mouth is worthless. What a joke. I hope he burns in the deepest and darkest pits of hell. I like to imagine this often, because I hate him terribly. His screams would be the greatest sounds to ever escape his throat, and the flames that lick his skin would be as bright as his horrible amber eyes. They're not even bright in this photo. I bet he changed them just to make me look bad. He's good at changing things when he so wishes it. I can't stand him and I can't take it. He is the worst character. His existence shouldn't matter, yet he is somehow the most important character in the series, and so I could never get myself to really believe they might kill him off. But I wanted it more than anything. Opening each new PDF on release day I would pray that he would be flayed alive. Just brutally eviscerated. This did not come to pass, because I never get anything I want. My heart is as black as his sleek, self-righteous coat. I am so angry.

nightheart is so a trans man allegory to me. i can see the transfem reading too but i think hes a trans man. and people who call him flameheart/flamepaw make me so angry. because its like. you wouldnt respect a trans persons chosen name then either huh, because you think its a form of respect and not just a basic human decency. but also i feel its suspicious that the hatred of him and demonizing of him happened right after people realised hes a trans allegory. the most he does is be whiny and hate his mother (hes not even misogynist he just hates his mom.). half this website does too. are they also misogynist?

Being a Nightheart fan is rough on Tumblr 😭
Okay here's my Nightheart take:
He wasn't completely right as an apprentice, but he DID have a right to be upset. I don't think we were meant to be entirely sympathetic towards him and agree with all of his opinions in the early ASC books. For instance, it seemed to me like we were supposed to see him failing his assessments as justified, considering he tries to show off when he shouldn't, and he takes risks that are completely unnecessary. Squirrelflight failing him on his 2nd assessment was the right choice. However, he had every right to be angry about his name and how everyone was comparing him to Firestar. Like he says, he's a black cat, the Flame prefix never made sense. The clan already knew he didn't like living in Firestar's shadow when he was given his warrior name, and giving him almost the same warrior name as Firestar didn't honor him for the individual he was, it honored his heritage.
Nightheart also felt that Sparkpelt had abandoned him when her and Finchpaw left ThunderClan, and throughout ASC, we see his take on her become much more nuanced, and they eventually forgive each other. Iirc, he also apologizes for his actions, but correct me if I'm wrong. I do agree that there was sexism from the Erins involved in Nightheart's story that made Squirrelflight and Sparkpelt (and even Finchlight, a little bit) look bad, but I also think that they weren't as vilified by the story as some people claim. We were reading from Flamepaw's point of view- He saw things in black and white when he was younger, and he later grew to understand that the situation was a lot more nuanced than he'd first thought.
I like that Sunbeam makes him more cautious while he makes her more daring. He becomes considerate and she learns to stand up for herself. I see a lot of people saying that it's not fair that Nightheart was the main cause of Sunbeam's character development, but the way I see it, she affected him just as much as he affected her.
I do agree that Sunbeam's arc got sidelined a bit for Nightheart's. Honestly, in TBC, I felt that Shadowsight's - and *sometimes* even Rootspring's - arcs got sidelined for Bristlefrost's, and my opinion is that it was about keeping more of the focus on ThunderClan so that it'd still be seen as the "main clan" just as much as it was about the writing of Warriors being sexist at times. Multi-faceted issue.
Also, people seem to act like he didn't grow as a character, but he definitely did. He becomes less reactionary, he starts to consider the opinions of others, he forgives his mother and sister, and (minor spoilers for Star, doesn't reveal anything about the plot which is why I'm not bothering to like, put this in a separate post) in Star, when someone whose name I honestly cannot remember starts to say that he becomes more like Firestar every day, Nightheart says thank you. That's... like very obvious character development and I have a little bit of hope that it'll make people favor Nightheart a bit more, but I'm not *that* hopeful.
I see a lot of hate for him that comes from the Erins saying he's only a POV character because they needed a male POV character. Personally, I don't REALLY understand why the (rightful) disdain for that fact gets thrown onto Nightheart instead of the Erins, but I mean, I can get why that would sour people's opinion of him. I'm just sad about it because I'm a Nightheart fan and it gets kind of tiring to see people constantly hate on him and even go so far as to say that they hope he suffers in Star or that they headcanon him as having an orange flame-shaped marking just because they know he'd hate it 😭
I kind of view people who call him a bad character specifically because he's annoying and whiny the way I view people who call Catcher in the Rye a bad book because they find Holden annoying. First of all, you can find a character annoying without calling them a bad character. Second of all, he becomes like, a LOT less whiny and annoying after he actually grows up and realizes he wasn't always right. Lastly, he was a teenager (and yes, he was basically warrior aged in the early books so maybe a young adult, but still very young) who felt misunderstood. He felt like ThunderClan didn't appreciate him for who he was because they could only see him for who he was related to, and he's kind of right tbh. He clearly holds the same values in Star regarding his belief that every cat should be an individual and they shouldn't have to live in the shadow of someone else's legacy, but he's more reasonable than when he was an apprentice.
Overall, I love Nightheart as an interesting, nuanced character that has some of the best character growth in Warriors. I love how him and Sunbeam compliment each other. I think a lot of the hate he gets should be directed at the Erins for their... very male-favoring writing instead of at him, and I definitely do not believe Nightheart fans deserve to be attacked or called sexist for liking him. That's going way too far. We're all going to have different takes on these books and the characters in them, and ngl, the writing is so inconsistent in the series that one book can portray a character as being loyal and kind and the book directly after it can portray them as the complete opposite, so we should all fight each other less and fight the Erins more LMFAO.
Now, I'm perfectly open to hearing people out if they disagree with my takes here, but they won't make me stop liking Nightheart. I relate to him and I like his arc. If you don't like him, whatever. Just don't come in my comments talking about how you hate him and want him to die between books and never be mentioned again because I'll just block you 😭 I don't want to see that. And to the people who comment shit like that on art people post of characters you don't like, stop doing that. Seriously. Unless the artist is already talking about hating that character, their post is not the place for you to rant about how much you despise what could very well be someone's favorite character. Yes, that includes comments like "I hate x but this art is great". Just say the art is great and move on. This community isn't always nice to each other, and a little less negativity would go a long way imo.
Yeah 3 am post about how much I love Nightheart. Also, I was 100% happy with Star. That seems to be an unpopular opinion, which I understand, but yeah I really liked it :)

How do gatherings look like in your rewrite? I always found it a bit silly that the cats only really talked to members of other clans briefly while waiting for the leaders to start, and then after the speeches everyone leaves immediately. Guess it makes for better drama that way but......i just want these cats to befriend more people outside their own clan
I think they do it to keep scenes focused on the information they wanna impart, but, come on. Let the cats live a little.
In my rewrite, here's how an average Lake Gathering goes! Forest Gatherings were a bit different.
Shellfur arrives with ThunderClan, just after sunset, when the full moon is faint in the sky. Today, they are the first to arrive. Usually WindClan is first, so Shellfur is antsy and worried that maybe Fernstripe won't show up.
So he decides to help Sorreltail and the kitchen crew set up, just to keep his paws busy. They uncover the pot from its fern hiding place and start gathering bowls of lakewater to fill it. Finchpaw is excited to have her last gathering as an apprentice and so is helping enthusiastically, which is tradition.
Flamepaw on the other hand is bellyaching as always. Just before Shellfur snaps at him to remind him this isn't mandatory, WindClan streams in. Now there's plenty of apprentices and kitchen patrollers to help, so Shellfur slips away before he says something mean.
He's been trying to be nicer these days, else Spotfur won't let him see his nespring.
Old friends are brushing up, sharing smalltalk, talking about the weather and how the kits are doing. See, the gathering isn't OFFICIAL until the leaders announce it when all four are present, so Shellfur is trying soooo hard to not immediately split off to hang out with Fernstripe.
That's because Clan leaders want all their warriors on display when each Clan arrives. Some kind of political display. Shellfur can be patient, though, because soon he won't have to hold back his affection for Fernstripe.
SkyClan is next today. They tend to enter in a very disorganized way, the most eager warriors arriving before Leafstar herself. They have a much looser hierarchy than the Forest Four clans.
ShadowClan is usually last, but today they're fourth. Heartstar LOVES her dramatic entrances, so she bursts into the clearing with a running start, bounds up the tree, and orders her warriors forth with a yowl. They charge in a straight line, some of them doing little tricks as they enter. Show-offs.
And last is... RiverClan. No one says, but everyone knows, that this will be Mistystar's last. They typically swim towards the island, allowing the moonlight to shine on their pelts like liquid starlight. But today they have taken the bridge, and the warriors walk gracefully behind their aging leader.
When the leaders call for the Gathering to begin, you must listen to the speeches before breaking off. Shellfur believes this is because it would look bad if no one cheered for their own Clan's announcements.
Once this is done, the Gathering begins in earnest.
Shellfur and Fernstripe listen to a story from Elder Mosspelt of RiverClan, of how she helped Mistystar escape TigerClan so long ago.
Later, Shellfur watches with ardor as Fernstripe is beaten by Rootspring at a game played with little stones and a grid scratched in the dust. It's the first time Rootspring has smiled in a while, but he doesn't know how good Fernstripe really is at Scratchstone. She let him win.
He needs to impress her, so he whispers to Sorreltail to set aside a crayfish from the Paw Soup for her. Sorrel gives him a wink and a coo. Fernstripe loves trying new things... Shellfur does not, but for her, he will have soup with a mud bug.
Time passes. The moon is hanging low. Any leader can call for their Clan to leave whenever they please, but any cat can say the magic words.
"I'll catch up with you later."
That's what he says when ThunderClan leaves the clearing. A few stay behind. Duststripe is one of them, Dewnose is another.
When the leaders are all gone, there's a second Gathering. This is when cats discuss other things, harmless, but codebreaking nonetheless. Honor-siring, goods-trading, sharing forbidden foods like kittypet kibble.
They usually make a second version of Paw Soup together. Someone called it Foot Soup and it stuck. Whatever was left over, plus some extra spices, this one usually has fish and kibble. It's a lot stronger than regular Paw Soup so Shellfur didn't think he'd like it, but he was surprised when he did.
And most importantly, he gets to be with Fernstripe. REALLY be with her, brushing, snuggling, getting actual relationship advice. It's like a safe haven.
But he's truly over the moon today, because tomorrow, he will wake up next to her and they will go home together. This is their last night at the Aftergathering, from now on, they won't be regulars anymore.
Before the moon is gone, so is everyone else. Gone back to their own Clans, where divisions are deeper than chasms. Fernstripe asks him if he's ready. He says yes, of course.

Sol once again gains access to forbidden knowledge and decides to mess stuff up au
Aka Solar flare au
An au where after Sol runs away, he, after many years of trying to find a way to get back at the clans, eventually comes into contact with a mysterious spirit that calls himself Scourge. Scourge is followed by other spirits who want to help Sol take revenge on the clans, and they give him access to the dark forest. Sol tells the dark forest cats and Scourge that he wants to get rid of the clans and the code itself. Scourge, intrigued by Sol's hatred of the clans and code, takes him to the oldest resident of the dark forest, and the most informational on Starclan, Ripplestar. Ripplestar admired Sol's ability to temporarily shake Shadow clan's faith in Starclan, and believes that the same can be done again, now that Starclan has little access to the land of the living. Sol decides that they will need someone on the inside of the clans, someone to shake things up a little, and they come across an angry black tom, who wants nothing to do with his ancestors, and desires to be seen as something other than Firestar,
Flamepaw.

this is my own fault.
hear me out-
rc9gn x warrior cats au
i need this. like, here is my vision- norrisville is a clan of cats, right? for now, we're calling the clan "brightclan" bc i am uncreative but, brightclan also had their own version of the norisu 9- the first ninja was this former kittypet who had gotten some of his fur dyed green and it just never came with; he was a curious boy, genuinely loved the outdoors and would spend his time wandering the forest which is how he found brightclan and his littermates (eight of them, mind you) followed suit
but first ninja was given the warrior name pouncepaw - pouncepaw and his brothers were resilient warriors, given the nickname "norisu 9" (for lack of better name-) because they excelled in what they did but of course- the clan was having issues with a band of rogues (where the sorcerer and his mate, the sorceress, came from!)
pouncepaw was close to becoming a warrior, but because he had begun his training late- due to ex-kittypet status- he didn't have an earned warrior name. his siblings, albeit not all from the same litter, were tasked with taking on the rogues; in an attempt to drive them out as they were causing problems on the clan- but something went south... pouncepaw still remembers the blood, the yowls even - how even his brothers were no match for the rogues (pouncepaw was given his warrior name after for his bravery, but he was the sole survivor)
now pouncestrike, he and his best friend pumpkinheart were leaving camp often- determined more than ever to take those down rogues; no one's entirely sure how it happened but the two rogues were banished from the territory- never to return...
pouncestrike went missing one day- no one was entirely sure what happened to him; some claimed he simply returned to his kittypet life, others thought he just went rogue- unable to deal with the deaths of his littermates but whispers foretold of a great warrior - the one cat who would protect them from harm (what they didn't know is it was different cats chosen, for their bravery- their courage- their true heart)
generations would come to pass within brightclan and soon enough, current times brought a new apprentice- the cat who would finally put an end to the rogues once and for all (not that anyone knew it yet-); let me have fun with this idea- i realize it barely manages to make sense
in comes our boy- violetpaw (currently just a placeholder name!) who was certainly a... unique cat; he seemed clumsy, but he had proven he would protect those who needed it and thus it was when the messenger delivered the message. except violetpaw didn't understand the teachings as well as the others, needing a little extra nudge from the cat version of the nomicon (genuinely for now, i think the nomicon should be like a starclan warrior or something visiting the ninjas in their dreams? i'll fix this later-)
violetpaw and his best friend flamepaw are apprentices known for their mischief, but of course- the rogue known as shade (also a placeholder name!) is back; and two of the warriors (mcfist is sandswipe? stoatfang? and viceroy, willowstrike) are apparently in cahoots with shade
tldr; the ninjas are warriors with a unique set of skills and abilities that set them out from the rest- they are referred to as 'silent warriors' (until i come up with a better name) and currently, violetpaw is chosen to take on the mantle. the mind-wipe would likely play out differently bc i am not that mean and obviously cats have a different perception of ages/years than a human would-
gonna reblog this with the list of potential cat names and whatnot in a moment!

I wonder how much would’ve changed if Nightheart’s story was everyone saying how unlike Firestar he is.
That everyone in Thunderclan became so accustomed to the goal of being like Firestar, that when a cat who isn’t quite right comes in they can’t help but judge him?
Nearly everyone is related to Firestar anyways, so it makes more sense to have this cultish obsession with being like the Greatest Leader That Ever Was that those who are outside of the norm are shunned.
LIKE Sparktail vs Alderheart? Sparktail was always brave, confident, and loyal. Alderheart was anxious, hesitant, and a little disloyal (crushing on Needlepaw, willing to allow Twigkit and Violetkit to meet in secret) so instead of working him through his troubles, he was shoved into the medicine cat den.
It would’ve been interesting to see Nightheart being given this treatment “oh, you failed your assessment three times? Maybe you’re supposed to be a medicine cat.”
Because Firestar wasn’t a medicine cat, he was a warrior. Therefore cats who are not like him must be destined as medicine cats!
Nightheart running away to Shadowclan, still as Flamepaw and pinning over Sunbeam would’ve been interesting. Since the age gap would still be obvious between the two just by keeping the apprentice name! Then the relationship could’ve ended with Flamepaw leaving Shadowclan
I would then boot him to Skyclan where Rootspring becomes his mentor/big brother figure because Rootspring understands Flamepaw: a family lineage that’s hard to call your own and a forbidden love that ended bitterly (bonus: Flamepaw is kicked out of Shadowclan after recklessly endangering Sunbeam and causing her an injury. This pushed Sunbeam closer to Shadowsight plus adds to the narrative that Lightleap gets away with stuff as the leader’s kit whereas Flamepaw isn’t shown any mercy towards his reckless behaviors)
Of course I’d still stick with my Flamepaw gets kicked out everywhere and becomes a loner AU idea, but this can actually tie in to Frostpaw’s drama if say she has to travel outside of the clans to discover the truth for Riverclan? Flamepaw (who maybe named himself Night now) might be able to aid her.
AND you can have it that at this point Sunbeam is the acting guard for Frostpaw, so it ends up with the three working together. (Night and Sunbeam make up during this time, Sunbeam seeing that Night has finally grown. But it’s too late for romance between them as Sunbeam confesses to having feelings for Shadowsight.)

12 YEAR OLD OCS; SIDE B
Flamepaw [Silvia Flowers] (he/him)
Flamepaw is a warrior cats OC, a Thunderclan cat who got abused by his mentor and died to a badger. As a Starclan cat he was revived (by Starclan) to protect this new apprentice who was going to be abused by the same mentor, her name was Bramblepaw (who I actually made earlier, but she has an okay-ish story in another time its sorta mundane). They fell in love and after some moons when theyre made warriors, they have a kit named Faithkit, which, for some reason, Starclan didn't like, because Starclan *loves* making arbitrary rules about romance, and he's banished, but not before his (dead) mom gives him and his family these crystals that let them turn into my "original species" called Drattus (theyre just dragon cats. theyre cats with dragon wings.)
And that is the end of this goobers story, he goes on to leave the clans and find a Drattus colony somewhere idk, he was my sona for awhile! He's goofy but I love him, and I hold him very near and dear to my heart. I have faith he can murder all the mary/gary sues in his path with his dragon cat abilities >:)
Description
A picture of Flamepaw, an orange cat with a lighter muzzle and paws. He has a white tailtip, amber eyes, and dark gold ears. He has a string with a purple crystal around his neck.
Lasha Felomi [Luna Wolf] (she/her)
She was just a normal girl but then her parents got murdered. Shen then gets adopted by the god of darkness and got turned into an immortal demigod with dark powers. She has a sword made out of her own frozen blood (never drew that though). She was forced to kill her best friend to take out the villain, but years later she finds out the villain actually survived. She tries to finish the job but gets killed herself instead. That's how her story originally would have gone. Also, Kirby and Hulk and Bubbles were there.
Growing up unable to stop all the tragedy around her, she has developed a deep need to be in power at all times and insists on being capable to do anything on her own and refuses to receive help or cooperate with others. She needs to be the most powerful person in the room but she is maybe upper B tier in the grand scheme of things.
I'm using her original name here, I wonder if anyone can spot where I got it from. It's pretty stupid and has nothing to do with her character.
Description
Her first design was a rollercoaster tycoon guest looking girl with an emo haircut, wearing an ugly yellow sweater, a red scarf and blue jeans. Also a picture of her hugging Kirby and one where she beats up a bad guy cat (epic) [Mod Note; Couldn't fit in the one where she beats up a bad guy cat :(]

ok yay. when flamekit was born, he was a heavy baby. i think his parents thought he was always destined for greatness so they constantly pushed him to do his best. they wouldnt be disappointed if he couldnt catch the mossball the fastest or win a sparring match with a littermate but theyd definitely train him more than other kits. his dad mightve been bulky while his mom was more lean and faster
when flamekit was appointed as an apprentince, he got a slap in the face with reality that some cats are better than him. bc thats when his enemy silverpaw showed up ^_^ silverpaw was quickly favored by gorsestar for being demanding and able to put up with a fight. when flamepaw was defeated by silverpaw in the fight, his parents scoffed and told him "i thought you could do better than this, flamepaw." that pissed him off
as an apprentince, he was constantly a show-off, going "look what /i/ can do" with a smug as fuck face. this is how he met goldenpaw, his best friend and practically his brother. goldenpaw taught flamepaw exactly how to be swift rather than just a living tank. when he was made warrior, flamepaws mentor called him the best apprentince they ever mentored
flametail was a bright young cat but with a bad temper. he wasnt afraid to use his strength to push around cats that pissed him off but that was rarely the case (except with silvereye ofc). well ok expanding on silvereye and flametails relationship. theyd tussle and what not but flametail knew that silvereye was always and would always be favored by gorsestar. when he got his apprentince, he went /hard/ on uh. beepaw :3 constantly pushing her to do better and to not disappoint him. it caused some tensions with the other mentors but overall flametail was respected
later on, as he got older, he was seen as this tank that no cat could take down. big and bulky, but short so you'd underestimate how he is. there used to be a rumor spread around by the apprentinces and kits that flametail took down an entire riverclan patrol all by himself (he didnt, goldenripple was there to help. he Did however injure them bc they pissed him off)
appointed as deputy, tensions were growing between him and goldenstar. he tried talking to his friend abt stress and whatnot, that goldenstar can take a break and flametail would pick it up. goldenstar refused, spiraling further and eventually running off. flametail became flamestar and at this point he was being compared to lionblaze (in the official warriors canon he has supernatural strength and well. looks like a lion. in this story hes retired) and well. stress ^_^ and yknow the rest bc i infodumped beforehand :3
but ya thats flamestars life. eventually the pressure of trying to be the best warrior/deputy/leader there was got too much for him and he went on a rampage with windclan. beating the shit out of them :3
if you ask abt the tail he was born with the stub and has learned to properly balance which is why he walks a bit funny but no cat mentions it bc they dont want to recieve flamestars grand slam
👀 HELLO!!! TANK KITTY I LOVE HIM

Nightheart beats up Larksong AU
Larksong is possessed by Clear Sky after getting poisoned.
Sparkpelt is transmasc. He's already out to the medics and his family since his warrior ceremony.
Clear Sky, due to being a founder, has access to Larksong's memories. He takes advantage of Sparkpelt's illness to verbally abuse him. He tries to badmouth "his" mate.
Over time, Clear Sky starts trying to isolate and gaslight his kits about their father, misgendering Sparkpelt.
This raises red flags for Alderheart, Jayfeather, Squirrelflight, Leafshade, and Lionblaze. They defend their brother/son.
Skysong starts roping Lilyheart and Bramblestar into his nasty behavior. Bramblestar already had to be pressured into using He/Him pronouns for Sparkpelt by others beforehand, so everyone is already upset about him misgendering his son again.
Skysong and Bramble start getting worse after Finchkit is discovered to have wobbly cat syndrome. Flamekit is terrified of Larksong and tries to stay near his father or uncles as much as possible. He's also scared of Bramblestar. Flickerkit retreats to the medicine den.
Alderheart, Sorrelstripe, and Leafshade sleep in the nursery with Sparkpelt when Skysong starts getting physically abusive toward Finchkit. Alderheart sneaks his brother his HRT herbs.
Meanwhile in Skyclan, Needlekit meets a weird tom who asks her for help. Rootkit can't see him. He says his name is Larksong and begs for help for his mate and kits.
When Ashfur possesses Bramble, he makes Lilyheart Flamepaw's mentor, Leafshade is Finchpaw's, and Alderheart is Flickerpaw's. Flamepaw doesn't want Lilyheart as his mentor.
Sparkpelt gets exiled after searching for Lionblaze and getting attacked by dogs.
Skysong forces Finchpaw into dangerous situations that leave her injured. She complains to her siblings that she is scared that one day, she fears that Skysong might be trying to kill her.
One day, she meets Needlepaw while trying to do tree climbing near the Skyclan border. Needlepaw saves her from falling and helps her get down safely.
Flamepaw, Finchpaw, and Flickerpaw get caught sneaking out of camp to find their father and uncles and are attacked by Ashstar, Skysong, and Lilyheart. Bramblestar calls Flamepaw, "Flamesong" and threatens to kill him.
Finchpaw attacks Ashstar. "Stay away from my brother!"
Needlepaw arrives and helps Finchpaw by attacking Lilyheart. The three siblings run off.
Needlepaw explains about Bramble and Lark's ghosts talking to her. Finchpaw decides to believe her. They meet up with Sparkpelt.

Okay that last post has me thinking about ASC au but it follows Fringewhisker, Frostpaw, and Finchlight. Like image how much better that would be already.
(A few asc spoilers ofc if you don’t want them then don’t read!!!)
Fringewhisker is so for the code change and in a scary situation as a ton of cats just hate her, she’s also beefing with her mother in law. This change also makes the first book being called Sky work more, maybe draw out her leaving to go to Shadow more. She’s in between leaving her family and going to her mate Spireclaw but then sickness strikes Sky and she feels bad. She doesn’t want to leave them in such a bad place. Finally at last she cracks and goes to Shadow, and then a few Shadow cats get sick. She feels like it’s her fault and sets up good reason the next book would be called Shadow. From what we’ve seen she tries really hard even to her own detriment to be worthy of others, is sweet, and sort of quiet. Over the arc she’d grow to be more loud about her place with her mate, maybe beat up Berryheart, and squash the rumors about her.
Frostpaw is just a baby and going through it. She became a healer apprentice maybe a moon before Willowshine died so by ASC start she’s a little into training. She’s grieving Willow already and growing a bond with Mothwing (aunt like bond I think it’s cute). Close with her siblings, her mom a bit overbearing but definitely caring for her. Then she has a vision of Reedclaw walking out of camp, he’s found dead. The second death she’s predicted after her dad. Mistystar dies, Curlfeather takes the lead then dies. She’s hella traumatized and a ball of overwhelming anxiety all the time. I’d want Mothwing to help her through it but she’s also not doing well with literally everyone dying. Instead of Splashclaw being there it’ll be her brother Graypaw (setting up a sort of Hawkfrost and Mothwing relationship but for them two instead).
Finchlight. She becomes a warrior like halfway thru the first book and is a lot more traditional in beliefs. She has the legacy of Firestar hanging over her head, her mother’s depression she’s trying to help, and her brother’s problems as well. She’s pretty much pulled every way and forgetting about herself. Flamepaw still has his name changed but chooses Raven instead, becoming Ravenflame. Trained under Thornclaw she carries a lot of his beliefs and can’t take in the code changes. She pushes them away and becomes a bit of a prick to outsiders but thru the arc she’d learn that that’s not right and that other cats aren’t her enemies. Somewhere in the second or third book Raven says he want to leave abandoning her entirely and completely blindsiding her, this pushes her more angry traditional beliefs even more. I think she’d join the cats against it but meets Fringewhisker and finds she’s actually so different from what Berryheart said. The sweet cat isn’t a sneaky manipulative clan crosser but a loyal determined cat who wanted to be with her mate. She starts changing and has a bit of a crisis of faith until steadily forwarding change alongside the other protagonists. Kinda like her having a girlfriend as well idk it’s cute maybe a Shadow cat (Finch and Gull???)
Side note with Ravenflame, while he does change his name and is still the annoying cat he is I think he’d actually be more flawed. Cats aren’t bullying him but he says they are, he blames other cats and is overly horrible to his mother. He also snaps at Finchlight when she tried to ask him why he didn’t tell her about his name change before he did it in front of everyone. I actually think he would leave but instead of going to Shadowclan he goes to Windclan, it takes awhile and absolutely tears the family apart. Finch resents her brother for leaving her to deal with everything by herself and grows even more angry when she hears him tell her that she was such a horrible sister and never cared for him. Eventually they would come back together and Ravenflame realizes that it wasn’t his clan that was the problem it was his own attitude, coming back to Thunderclan later.
(Also I chose Ravenflame bc Raven connects him to Larksong and Finchlight while flame still ties him to his lineage, mother, and previous name. A straight rug pull from Bramblestar lol, he allows him to change his name but also completely makes it null by putting flame as his suffix.
Alternatively I think Ravenshade could also work as a name or Ravensong to tie him back to his dad)
#asc but women au#Graypaw could be Grayfeather or maybe Grayrain idk I think it suits him#Frostpaw would be named Frostshine or Frostheart#while she has less focus Mistpaw should be Mistclaw after her dad and vc I see her as having a temper#asc au#asc#a starless clan#finchlight#nightheart#flamepaw#fringewhisker#spireclaw#Frostpaw#mothwing#ruse au’s#wc au#warrior cats au

Ten Quotes from Ten Major Characters
(I always accept asks and requests for writing)
"Tigerstar wants to destroy the clans. I'm going to save them, and raise them up to the stars where our ancestors walk. I love this land, and after I'm done, it'll be perfect."-Firemask to Ravencall, after Brightpaw flees to RiverClan.
"What makes you think I'm on your side, Thistleclaw?"-Mapleshade to Thistleclaw, during the Great Battle.
"ALL OF YOU HAVE CAUSED THE DEATH OF MY CLAN! I SHOULD NEVER HAVE STOPPED FIGHTING!"-Skystar to the other founders after the exile of SkyClan, currently going through a rough time.
"How could you? She was our leader... How could you do this"-Sandstorm to Firemask after his confession of guilt.
"There's a 'hyena' here. The other kittypets call him Snickers. Don't worry. He's friendly."-Bumble, to Shadowstar, during her first visit to Limbo.
"....Gaze...upon...my...mistakes....know....this...may...find...you..."-Tom visiting Ashfur in his dreams the night before the fire scene, permanently emaciated due to his choices. (DING DONG THE BITCH IS SUFFERING)
"Well. It's been a long, long time, hasn't it, River Ripple?"-Frey, revealing his identity to Riverstar during the Great Battle.
"You're just like Crowfeather! I'm going to kill you, like I'm gonna kill him!"-Breezepelt to Pinestar during the Great Battle.
"Bramblestar. If I must honor my ancestors, give me suffix of a cat who mattered more to me than Firestar ever did!"-Nightsong to Bramblestar, when he was still Flamepaw, during his warrior ceremony.
"You were trouble ever since you set foot in the forest! Prepare to die, horrid thing!" Tigerstar, to Firestar, during the Great Battle, and being a hypocrite.

I fully headcanon that Graystripe in StarClan would just... be mates with both Millie and Silverstream because he never stopped loving either of them, and would never choose one over the other. I severely doubt that the actual books would actually do this though considering the random retconning in Silverstreams opinion of millie
I also fully headcanon that Leafpaw had a major crush on Mothwing and one of her big motivations for continuing to train and be a medicine cat is meeting Mothwing at the meetings. I love the idea that Mothwing is fully aware of her crush and finds it cute, just doesn't reciprocate it/feel anything back bc Leafpaw is a child and Mothwing isn't weird like that. Plus Leafpool still having a bit of a crush as an adult bc Mothwing is pretty as she has made very clear.
Also, take this idea: Nightheart is so mad at him being named Flamepaw bc he has black fur, but everyone is confused at this because, unbeknownst to him, his fur has a bright red shine to it when its hit by the sun and always has, which is why he was named Flamekit/paw. That idea or in the area of his back he can't see he has a little dab of ginger that looks like fire. It's more of an idea than an hc, but still wanted to share it.
Interesting. Personally I’m pretty sure Mothwing wasn’t old enough to be called an adult when she and Leafpaw first met, Moth seemed to have just gotten her name sooner, not really being noted as much older than Leafpool in any way I can recall. Also while Mothpool is good… it’s pretty stale for me tbh. It’s the Errorink of the Warriors fandom, overdone and underexplored.
Personally I think the idea of Nightheart looking like that is beautiful! And even though I haven’t even read their books yet, I’m very avid as a transfem Nightheart believer (I’m currently stopped dead in the middle of AVoS).
