America's Angels

They bowed their heads and prayed to their god. And he was made of garbage and oil, lies and ignorance, bombs and bullets, suffering and decay.

I wrote this poem just for fun (and because I dislike the current state of america) I would love some constructive criticism.

This is the first hopeful news I've heard about U.S. politics in awhile. And it's from Alaska.

The justice system is failing my kids

and all of a sudden I understand why woman go crazy.

No fuckin child should be staying in a sober house

No god damn 7 year old should know about sex, make jokes about cocks, and tell me all about heroin and meth

No child should be forced to shower somewhere they’ve said they’re uncomfortable showering, esp when they’re only there 1 full day.

No child should be forced to see people who they don’t like, and hug them

No child should be told “don’t tell your Dad”

No child should be forced to call a parent who abandoned them for 3.5 years “mom” or “dad”, because they don’t know them that way.

No child should be forced to wear clothes or shoes they don’t like because “mom bought them”

No child should be forced to eat food they know they’re not supposed to eat (my kids are pork free, and don’t eat fast food) because “it’s cheaper, just don’t tell your dad”

No fuckin child should be forced to be around a parent they don’t want to be

Children have voices to; they are humans too. They shouldn’t be ignored, opinions disregarded, just because “she gave birth to them”

Giving birth to a child DOES NOT make you a Mother

Making a child DOES NOT make you a Father

If my child says no, it’s a no pal.

When they grow up, and realize exactly who their mother is, tho I will be happy, a part of me will break to know that they have the same mother I grew up with. I just hope they realize before I did, because my life has been 100x better since cutting my mother off.

I may just be a “step mom”, but I will do everything in my power to protect them, teach them, and support them, until they can make the choices I was finally able to.

And tho I would have much rather had a great relationship with my mother, I would have loved to see her with my kids, my sanity and my kids safety come above all else.

Narcissism, selfishness, addiction, manipulation, and “being the favorite parent” have no place in raising a child.

I wish our government in Canada had any ability to do much of anything lately, but especially, based on how the US has gone, you've gotta' put any unwritten rules people have been following to make society function into writing.

I'm not sure what all the rules needed are, but make them enforceable rules. Make every traditionally non-political appointment a bureaucratic non-political appointment by law, for onep

Make house of commons rules with teeth would be a favourite. A non-partisan person in the house with the ability to temporarily remove members, take away their voting rights for shouting and yelling. If MPs insist on acting like unruly teenagers, suspend their asses....maybe elect someone who can act like a non-asshole next time.

I've never forgiven this gov't for breaking the election reform promise...better late than never, do it now.

The Cons here in Canada are absolutely going to rig every system they are allowed to, and break the rest.
