“Hey guys,” Aether greets, swinging the door open. 

You and Yoimiya look up from the living room floor, where you both were sorting through what stash you had. An assortment of weird flavored vapes, an ugly bong, and a few joints. 

“Welcome,” Lumine greeted, locking the door behind the four of them. Your eyes flicker towards Scara, who’s staring around your guys’ dorm curiously. Everyone else had been there before, but he’s refused since you were present. 

Fischl flickers the lights off apart from the LEDs hung around your dorm. The space settles into a dark haze, the dim red and blue being the only source of light as everyone finds a spot. 

“You got the goods?” Childe asks, plopping down across from you as everyone settles onto the floor. Unfortunately, Scaramouche ends up next to you. He doesn’t even spare you a glance.

“Goods? What are you, 14?” Aether laughs.

Venti pulled out a small plastic bag from his pocket. It was hard to see in the lack of light, but you could see bundles of green inside.

“Here,” Venti replied, tossing the bag to you, who caught it clumsily, “You have a joint, right?.”

You tucked the bag away and pulled a joint out of your pocket, popping it out of its tube. You took a lighter from Yoimiya’s hand and it let out a lousy spark, but no flame came out.

Scara scoffs from beside you, but before you could make a comment he covered the lighter with his hand, causing a flame to come out. 

“Thanks,” you mumble, taking a hit, and passing it to him. 

Scaramouche took the joint from you with his free hand, bringing it to his lips. He leaned his head against the base of the couch behind you both, passing it to Childe and so on. 

Aether soon brought out his phone, connecting it to a speaker as music slipped through the room. Fischl put out a pack of UNO as you guys all started a slow paced game while passing around a joint that slowly diminished.

Venti set up his bong, much to Scara’s dismay. 

“Can you roll some blunts for me, I’m going to check if we have drinks,” Yoimiya asks, gesturing to the table. “I can try,” you slowly say, eyeing her work. You were never good at rolling, and you still weren’t if your clumsy fingers were any tell. You bit the inside of your cheek as you attempted to tuck the paper in with your fingers, but failed miserably as a bit of weed kept falling onto your lap.

“You’re shit at this.”

That was the first thing he’s said to you since your fight in the dressing rooms a few days ago, and of course it was an insult.

“Shut up, I almost got it,” you huff. 

You most certainly did not got it.

“You’re supposed to mold the weed in as you go,” Scara says, “You’re really bad at everything you do.”

You roll your eyes but follow his words. You can feel his eyes on your hands as you continue to struggle to get the paper to stay put.

Before you could give up and keep everyone waiting Scaramouche reached over to grab your wrist and pull your hand towards his face.  

“Hold the end,” he orders, folding over the paper for you as you hold the end of the soon to be blunt in front of him. His movements are swift and precise as he rolls the blunt with practiced ease. You can’t help the flicker of resentment spark up at his effortless skill.

You almost tug your hand away, not wanting his help, but he brings the blunt, and in tow you, closer to his lips. His grip on your hand is soft as he leans down and licks across the paper, his lips close to your fingers as he seals the blunt shut. He looks up to lock eyes with you, were his eyelashes always so long? 

The LEDs painted the living room in rolling light and shadow, and you were suddenly conscious of Scara’s unrelenting gaze. For a second, your eyes met his dark, half-lidded eyes. They seemed unfathomably deep, like staring into an abyss. Scaramouche soon pulled back, snapping out of whatever that was before you, and tugging the blunt out of your hands and leaning back to light it.

“That’s how you do it, dumbass,” he says, placing it between his lips.

“Whatever,” you manage to say. The image of his eyes looking up at you crystal clear in your mind. You snatched the blunt back from him, you needed to forget the weird feeling in the pit of your stomach. Envy, that was surely it.

Yoimiya came back with drinks and rated your blunt an 8/10, but didn’t ask you to roll anymore throughout the night. The UNO game was soon forgotten as you guys passed around controllers to play Mario Kart and take hits. Childe insisted it was more fun when high. 

It always took you a while to start feeling it, you’ve only occasionally taken part with your members a few times. You could feel the weight of Yoimiya’s hands on your shoulder as she shouted out for you to dodge the banana peels, the stain on the ground from where Venti had knocked over his beer earlier was suddenly bothersome, and the dim lighting seemed to lull you to sleep.  

You look to your left, watching as Scara puts down a draw four for Aether, who was still playing, his nimble fingers flipping over the cards and smirking as Aether wails in response. His skin glowed warm under the flickering violet lights, his lips pulled into a frown as Aether pulled a reverse card on him. He was pretty, but you’ve always known this. It was one of the many reasons you disliked him.

Your head felt light for the first time that week, all the stress from the awards ceremony incident dissipating. It was as if the weed inside you rose up to your skin, turning you inside out, causing every emotion you felt to be turned up to the next ten dials. Every nerve in your body was buzzing with anticipation. Of what, you didn’t quite know yet. 

You promptly let your head hang limp for a while, letting your eyes fall shut as the voices of everyone around you faded into a faint noise. A few minutes pass before you find yourself falling to your left, your head landing on something soft as you drift off into nothingness.

When you come to the dorm is quiet apart from the low music of the abandoned game of Mario Kart on the tv screen. Apart from everyone else passed out and splayed across each other the first thing you notice is the fact that you're laying on someone’s lap. 

Assuming it’s Yoimiya you look up and are taken aback at Scara’s head hung a few inches above you. His arms are crossed and his chest is rising slowly, and when there isn’t a scowl or frown adorning his face, he looks rather peaceful. At that moment, Scaramouche was the epitome of contentment that even monks who cultivated for decades would be jealous of. 

You’re suddenly aware of every one of your movements, it would be humiliating for him to see you like this. You turn your attention back at the room and eye the mess you guys all made. You should really wake them all up in case Jean visits you guys in the morning, your heart can’t handle another lecture from her. 

You turn and look back up to see Scara staring at you with a heavy unrelenting gaze. You yelp and sit up abruptly, scooching away from him.

He merely stretches out his legs and leans his head back, as if you hadn’t just fallen asleep on him.

“Ew, I can’t believe I took a nap on you. Why didn’t you push me off?” you ask.

“Lumine said she’d kill me if I did,” Scara answers, his voice hoarse from just waking up, “Your big head is heavy, don't do that shit again.”

“As if I’d ever want to, fuck you,” you huff, “You’re uncomfortable,” you add. Which wasn’t true, his sweatpants were rather cushy, but you’d die before admitting that. 

“You drooled on my pants,” Scara grimaces.

“Did not!”

“This is why nobody wants to sleep with you.”

“Who told you that?!”

“Just an observation.”

You scoff and busy yourself with picking up the UNO cards scattered around you. He wasn’t completely wrong, you were too busy with idol life to seek out any sort of relationships. But he didn’t need to know that.

“Not everyone is a slut like you,” you say back, bringing your knees to your chest.

Scaramouche looks over at you for a second, an insult probably loaded atop his tongue, before he instead stands up and stretches his arms above his head. His shirt rides up for a moment, a flash of a tattoo being visible for a second before he looks around. 

“Which one is Xiao’s room?”

“First door on the left, why?”

He doesn’t answer, grabbing a vape off of the table and walking off, shutting the door behind him.

synopsis — after the disaster that was the live award show, where you and scaramouche got into an argument on stage after both of your groups got a tie for top artists, your guys' PR teams have been in shambles trying to scrape up your mess. that's when the idea to send you both off with some other idols to a remote location for a survival dating show to mend your public image comes up. before you know it your bags are packed and you’re on a plane to a remote island. the only obligation is you need to end up with scaramouche at the end of the show, whether you end up liking him or not doesn’t matter to your managers as long as the show’s ratings stay high. whatever you do in between to get there is up to you!

So, wouldn't it be fun if, when the Cataclysm happens, we temporarily enter a trial stage where we can see what the rest of Teyvat is doing while we're (presumably) in Khaenri'ah?

Like, Paimon makes an off-handed remark about how she hopes our friends are alright before we enter a domain, and next thing you know, we're playing as Jean back in Mondstadt, following her as she orders the knights to defend the city, before finding out to the Cathedral has been targeted and running up the flights of stairs alongside Lisa, Noelle, Mika and Eula. Once they reach the Cathedral, they rush to the basement alongside Barbara, only to find Albert rifling through priceless artifacts.

Then Albert reveals himself to be an Abyss Herald, saying how he spent the past years pretending to be an unsettling Barbara fan so he could be near the Cathedral and figure out the building's layout, as well as learn more about Barbatos.

We then beat him up for it. (I just want an excuse to beat up Albert). And, after the battle is over, Barbara wonders about Rosaria's whereabouts.

Rosaria is currently rushing through Springvale, trying to reach Wolvendom to see if Razor is alright. Diona, Bennet and Fischl are following her, alongside Draff and a few hunters.

They fight alongside Andrius and a pack of wolves, fending off the Abyss, especially the rifthounds (the people of Springvale evacuated to Mondstadt City).

And, just as the next wave of monsters appears, we cut to Dawn Winery, where Diluc, Kaeya and Amber are protecting the estate. (Assuming Kaeya is in Mond and not fighting his demons back in Khaenri'ah).

Meanwhile, in Dragonspine, Albedo, Mona, Klee and Sucrose are fending off a bunch of Abyssal monsters with the help of Albedo's siblings (there's an entire pack of rifthounds circling the group in a protective manner).

Then we hear an earth-shattering roar and a revived Durin suddenly takes to the sky, starting the final segment of the Mond Cataclysm fight, where we accompany Dvalin, Durin and Venti in a battle in the skies, the old foes now allies.

Then we jump from region to region, finding out how our friends are doing while the world burns to the ground.

Notable mentions that I'll probably include in another post at a later date include:

- Qiqi healing Millelith soldiers while Keqing fends off the Abyss;

- Hu tao, Shenhe and Baizhu dealing with restless spirits in Wuwang Hill;

- Rhodeia single-handledly protecting Qingce Village with a thousand Hydro mimics;

- The Akitsu Kimodameshi Youkai children attempting to protect other kids in Hanamizaka, and when that almost fails, Itto and Yoimiya swoop in to protect the kids;

- Sara, Heizou, Kokomi and Gorou working together to fend off monsters coming from the Dark Sea to Watatsumi, with Raiden on the frontlines;

- Yae sending out fox spirits to protect Narukami Island from atop the Shrine;

- Xiao, Yelan and Yanfei fighting at the Chasm;

- Wanderer fighting alongside the Pari before returning to Sumeru city to help Nahida;

- Nahida and the Aranara coordinating efforts to protect and guide all the people of Sumeru, be if by offering protection or providing oasis and safe havens;

- The Akasha being temporarily back so the entire regionof Sumeru is connected, with eremites and people from the rainforest sharing knowledge, be it the location of enemies, evacuation routes or first-aid tips. The children and elderly are also swapping stories, to calm each other down and avoid panicking;

- Nilou is guarding the Sanctuary of Surasthana, not that anyone is getting near Sumeru city, what with the green shield of Dendro and Apep looming in the background;

- Lyney and Lynette looking for Freminet, only to see a gigantic hydro construct of Pers fighting a Wolflord alongside the Salon Solitaire (Freminet and Furina besties agenda);

- Enemies such as Treasure Hoarders and Fatui fighting alongside the playable characters against the Abyss.

Noelle is so happy making toddler you all the pancakes you can eat, Sucrose had to stop her from going overboard and not just listening completely to kids when it comes to food

She is now very concerned with making you a balanced diet, tho she will still make u an ungodly tall stack of pancakes every now and then <3

They kind of all equally provide for you, obv ur their god, and ur a literal cutie patootie child, they cant just leave you

(also u might like move a mountain or change the weather or smth if they don't watch you so most are a little paranoid of that too)

Lisa gets u all kinds of cute outfits, still stuff you'd like, but definitely snuck in some sumeru looking clothing lol

she even managed with her own crafting powers (and your probably editing the game code or smth) she somehow makes a reinforced glider with a small harness on the back for you to glide with her

ur absolutely spoiled rotten by him (and Dvalin, and Andrius, and the wind sprites)

if this god had money he’d spend it on wine and you lol

takes u flying all the time, any time, would drop everything to go to Mondstadt wilds and use his archon form wings to take you wherever you wanna go

tries to bring u to Angel’s Share but Diluc nearly hits him on the head with a wine bottle and brings you back home after kicking Venti out and giving you grape juice (yes you get all you want, within a healthy amount)

anyway the most important part abt you being a god and child is that you can now fulfill your childhood dreams of riding a dragon whenever you want

(one way to quickly get Mondstadt citizens to trust Dvalin again was just constantly seeing him flying overhead, occasionally seeing a small child on his back also helped lol)

(neither you nor Venti tell Jean you ride Dvalin and keep it an active secret from her.)

You woke up with a pounding headache. Whether it was from the alcohol you drowned yourself in last night or the hours you spent crying, you weren’t sure. The apartment was eerily quiet, except for the faint hum of the fridge and the occasional sound of cars passing by outside.

You checked your phone. 12:07 PM.

You groaned and pushed yourself out of bed, the floor cold beneath your feet as you slipped into your slippers. Unlocking your bedroom door, you stepped out into the dimly lit hallway—only to stop in your tracks.

Lumine was curled up right outside your door, her back against the wall. Her arms were tucked under her head, her makeup smudged, and her dress from last night wrinkled. She must have been waiting for you.

Your chest tightened. Quietly, you grabbed a blanket from your room and draped it over her shoulders before heading toward the living room.

The sight that greeted you wasn’t surprising.

Venti was sprawled across the couch, drooling onto a pillow, while Fischl lay on the floor with a blanket half-covering her. Xiao, of course, sat stiffly in the beanbag chair, awake but clearly exhausted.

You didn’t say anything as you shuffled past them and into the bathroom. Opening the cabinet, you grabbed the bottle of ibuprofen and downed two pills with a glass of water. When you looked up into the mirror, the reflection staring back at you made your stomach drop.

Your eyes were red and puffy. Your hair was tangled, and faint streaks of mascara smudged your cheeks. You looked as bad as you felt.

“Where were you?”

You jumped, nearly knocking the glass into the sink. Spinning around, you saw Xiao standing in the doorway, arms crossed and eyes sharp.

“Jesus, Xiao!” you hissed. “You scared the life out of me!”

“You scared us first,” he shot back. “We were looking for you all night. Everyone at the party left, and you still hadn’t shown up. We tried calling, but all our messages went to voicemail. What happened?”

Your shoulders tensed. “I don’t want to talk about it, okay?”

Xiao’s frown deepened.

You pushed past him, already heading toward your room. “If you’re not busy, I could actually use your help with something.”

He followed silently, watching as you handed him a large trash bag.

“We’re packing up everything related to Scaramouche,” you said flatly, yanking a plushie off your bed and tossing it into the bag.

Xiao froze. “Wait—are you sure? Some of this stuff… You said it was limited edition.

You didn’t stop. More plushies, posters, keychains, and signed photos quickly disappeared into the bag. You didn’t let yourself hesitate, even when you came across your most prized possession—a framed, autographed poster that Scaramouche had only signed once, the day of his debut.

Your fingers trembled as you carefully pulled it off the wall.

“Y/N,” Xiao said softly.

“It doesn’t matter anymore,” you muttered, rolling the poster up and shoving it into the bag. “None of it matters.”

Xiao didn’t argue. He tied up the bag without another word and carried it out of the room, leaving you standing in the wreckage of your once-decorated space.

It wasn’t long before Lumine finally woke up and stumbled into your room, her blanket dragging behind her.

“Y/N!” She practically tackled you, wrapping her arms around you so tightly it almost knocked the air out of your lungs. “Where the hell were you?! We looked everywhere! I was so scared when we couldn’t find you. I tried to get into your room, but the door was locked, and—”

“I’m fine,” you whispered, cutting her off as you hugged her back.

But the warmth of her embrace broke something inside you, and the tears you’d been holding back spilled over. Lumine held you tighter as you cried, running her fingers through your hair and whispering soft reassurances.

Eventually, the others trickled in. Fischl flopped onto your bed with a yawn, while Venti scavenged the kitchen for snacks. Xiao leaned against the wall, arms crossed but still keeping an eye on you.

“So, let me get this straight,” Fischl said between bites of cereal. “You overheard him talking trash about you and just… walked home in the rain?”

You nodded, staring at your half-eaten bowl of cereal.

“What an asshole,” she scoffed. “He doesn’t even know you that well, and he thinks he can talk like that?”

“He doesn’t need to know me,” you said quietly. “He was right. I was obsessed with him.”

“Stop it,” Lumine snapped. “Don’t do that to yourself. You’re allowed to like someone’s work. It’s not your fault he turned out to be a—”

“—complete dickhead,” Venti finished, mouth full of chips.

A small, bitter laugh escaped you.

“Maybe this is for the best,” you said, pushing the bowl away. “It’s time for me to focus on my work and stop pretending I belong anywhere near someone like him.”

Fischl groaned, flopping onto her back dramatically. “No offense, Y/N, but you can’t just let this go.”

“I’m not letting it go,” you said firmly. “I’m just moving forward.”

The rest of the day blurred by. Xiao took the trash bag to the storage unit downstairs, and the others hung around, watching movies and pretending everything was fine.

But it wasn’t.

That night, long after everyone had fallen asleep, you found yourself staring at your phone again.

Scaramouche’s name lit up your notifications—tweets, photos, videos. His fans adored him. They didn’t know the version of him you’d seen.

You hovered over the block button.

Instead, you turned off your phone completely and shoved it into your nightstand.

Tomorrow, you promised yourself. Tomorrow you’d stop letting him take up space in your head.

But even as you tried to sleep, his voice echoed in your mind.

"She’s pathetic."

You clenched your fists under the covers.

No more crying. No more hoping. No more Scaramouche.

I read your Archons, Ganyu and Xio watching Teen!Reader growing up.

Can I request a silimier story, but the Teen!reader is a Adventure like Bennett and Fischl.

They notice that Teen!Reader been gone for a while and decided to see if they are alright. Only to discover that one of their missions led them to a fight with the Abyss Order, and they were heavily injured. But when they found them, they are alive, even though cover in bandages. And explain happily they survive thanks to the sudden appearance of a Vision silimier to their own or element.

Of course! It turned out quite short since I didn't wanted to write twice something I wrote here but I hope you'll enjoy this either way!

⊱ Venti always was scared for your well being, he simply didn't wanted to loose you, especially when you had so much life in front of you

⊱ it'd be a lie to say that he never thought of causing strong winds to make your journey impossible but that'd be taking freedom away from you and he didn't wanted that!

⊱ but you still experienced some stronger winds when you were out but not enough to make it harder on you, quite the opposite

⊱ winds were usually strong enought to help you cause swirl reaction or to swipe some of the enemies away

⊱ but he's also the type to go with you on any kind of journey and make sure by himself that nothing will happen to you

⊱ also is the type to congratulate and celebrate your every found treasure, even if it's one mora

⊱ literally is your mom whenever you're about to leave for adventure, like he'll go after you, make sure you have 20 more things that you don't even need and will hug you like he sees you for the last time you literally need to convince him to not follow you

"Strong yet helpful winds? Sounds like Barbatos has an eye on you! Ah c'mon, don't look at me like that! Maybe it's true, you never know~!"

⊱ you probably got into exploring and adventuring thanks to all those stories Zhongli told you

⊱ and he was glad that he helped you find something you enjoy so much

⊱ of course he was worried, that's why first few adventures were with him by your side

⊱ he's the type to help you pack yourself, he'll tell you what things are absolutely needed and which ones you won't need at all

⊱ he loves hearing about your journeys and sometimes he may tell you about his own journeys once he realizes you're old enough to finally hear them

⊱ bring him whatever you found in treasures and he'll tell you how much they're worth it and if you found any artifacts, he'll tell you quite a long description

"Not exactly... you see, this artifact is 500 years old and it used to be seen as so called rain bringer. Let me explain..."

⊱ believe it or not but Raiden was actually a bit worried about you, especially when you decided to go on your first mission

⊱ on the day of your first few missions, thunder actually was a bit stronger but it never hit you, if anything it hit your enemies

⊱ she won't say anything about what your packed unless you asked her about it yourself and she'll actually give you some good advices

⊱ sorry to break it up to you but she actually doesn't care much about what you found but she still listens if you like to ramble about your findings

⊱ literally would send you to Miko if you'd want to know more about some artifact you found on your way

⊱ she's definitely the type to give you some sweets as reward for your adventure, she once tried baking something for you when you come back but it ended on kitchen catching fire so she buys you something instead...

"I did not made thunder stronger today to interrupt your adventure. Let's just say that friend of mine convinced me to give you some extra help"

⊱ I think you could've expect it but... Nahida is literally a mom

⊱ she'll give you way more things to pack that you actually need, will ask you many stuff to make sure you'll be safe there or will be able to protect yourself and will struggle to actually let you go

⊱ and it's even worse if it's your first mission... you had to convince her to not make you go with Traveler and to not give you whole 3 bags of everything since it's just 3 to 8 hours

⊱ but once you come back, she's the type to welcome you with big hug and many questions making sure you had fun there

⊱ and you better not get any injury because her mom mode will get even more serious... she won't let you out of your bed for first few days and won't let you out of the city untill you heal fully

⊱ what's nice tho is that you get lots of your favorite foods and drinks from her once you come back

⊱ but let's focus on less mom things... if you ever bring any artifact, she'll announce how proud she is from you and if she can, she'll tell you as much as you'd like about what you found

"Are you sure you got everything? What if it'll suddenly rain? Take an umbrella with you, it doesn't matter if you'll be out for just 6 hours. Better be safe than sorry."

⊱ Ganyu is another person to act like a mom but she's not as bad as one archon...

⊱ she tries to not overload you with things you might need but you still will usually carry more than needed unless you tell her you won't carry it and she's not the type to pry

⊱ she won't come to adventure with you but she does walk you off to some spot just to make sure you're safe for some part of your adventure and to spend some more time with you

⊱ when you're away, she really just focuses on her work and wants to get more things done so she can spend some time with you once you're back

⊱ once you're back, she definitely treats you to some restaurant or any other place you might like as reward for your hard work

⊱ she's the type to just listen to you while you talk about your adventures and she might even ask you some questions

⊱ she will try to tell you as much as she can about any artifacts but even tho, she couldn't be more proud of you for finding every treasures

"I'm so glad you're back! Did you had fun? Did you occured any problems on your way? Come on, why won't you tell me everything on our way to Xianglings restaurant?"

⊱ Xiao acted like he truly didn't care that you're going on some kind of adventure but the truth is that he was so scared over his child companion

⊱ he literally followed you on your first 5 adventures if not more and defeated any monsters on your way

⊱ or just first 3 if he had no other choice but to slay some demos...

⊱ of course he doesn't help you with packing or anything since he doesn't know much about what mortals might need but he will get Traveler if you'd like some help

⊱ after your first adventure, he definitely suggests training you a bit but if you refuse he won't mention that ever again

⊱ he's not the type to welcome you back like it's the best thing that happened to Teyvat but he will show you his softer side especially if you're back from longer adventure

⊱ maybe he won't ask you many questions and you may even think he doesn't care but he does enjoy listening about your journey

⊱ if you ever show him artifact, he'll answer simply in few sentences and will advise you to go ask someone else instead since he's too busy to focus on just explaining

13. bumping into someone familiar [fanboy!scaramouche x drummer!reader] ⎯⎯ heartbeat rhythm series

the day before was like a dream.

there's a change in your attitude and practically everyone notices it. you just can't believe you got to casually hang out with the scaramouche.

he was so cool and composed the whole time, it had you thinking that he's a hallucination, or rather a divine angel sent down by the archons themself!

you hum as you fidget with the cat charm attached to your phone, sitting atop the outdoor stage as you and the other members wrapped up another practice. ayaka takes note of this and approaches you.

"(name)? when did you get that?" she queries, placing her hands on her knees to meet your gaze. you slowly giggle with a pink face, "he won it for me at the arcade." ayaka turns red at your response. she seems to be more excited about this than you do.

she looks around before sitting next to you and whispering, "did he?" you eagerly nod with suppressed laughs. ayaka quietly squeals, "that's so cute, (name)! you should make a move on him already!... ah, i don't mean to rush you or anything-"

you chuckle, "no, it's fine, ayaka. but," you stretch your arms and lay down onto the stage with your hands behind your head. "i don't know. i still have a bad feeling about having to confess sooner or later."

ayaka hums in understanding. you sit back up and change the topic to lighten the mood. "did you know he has two sisters? his younger sister, fischl, is in her last year of middle school and he has a twin sister, who goes to our school!" you playfully nudge, "if he rejects me, i'll go for his sister."

ayaka's jaw drops and you laugh at her reaction, "i'm joking!"

hu tao comes out of nowhere and places a paperbag on top of your head. "food is here and just what are you guys giggling on and on about? me and yoimiya could hear you from the other side of the stage!" the brunette crouches down by ayaka as yoimiya sits next to you.

you tease hu tao with a lilting tone, "you'll have to guess." hu tao hands a sandwich to yoimiya and ayaka and saves you for the very last. "something something student council president," hu tao flatly says, taking a bite out of her own sandwich.

"how did you know?" you sarcastically ask, swaying your legs and hitting the heels of your shoes against the stage. "anyways, he's super sweet. people who hate him are just jealous like that," you state with a smile.

the sandwich began to taste even better when you spoke about him.

hu tao rolls her eyes, "okay, (name)~ now, about yun jin!" she leans in, "she hasn't texted us in days. do you think she's alright, handling the madam faruzan situation? what if she won't be able to sing when the day comes?"

ayaka frowns, "that's true. she hasn't practiced with us in forever. at this point, we might have to cancel on performing." all four of you fall silent at the thought of it.

"it's okay!" yoimiya widely grins, "we could fill in for her." the blonde takes out a notepad and hurriedly scribbles down the lyrics. "here, like this. ayaka can sing the first verse, then-"

ayaka cuts her off with a yelp, "me, sing!? i don't know about this plan, 'miya..."

you place a hand on ayaka's shoulder and smile, "it's okay if you don't want to, but you really are a great singer. your voice is very stable but soft, which contrasts really well with the song."

hu tao nods, "mhm! plus, we're all going to be there! only the archons know how many people are out there that love you like we do!" ayaka takes tiny nibbles from her sandwich, muttering, "what am i going to do with you guys?"

after planning out who's singing which verse and practicing like it was the real performance, the sun began to set, and everyone started packing up their instruments.

"see you tomorrow, hu tao, 'miya!" ayaka calls out with a smile and you and her head back into the school building.

you suddenly realize something and start feeling at all of the pockets you could possibly find on your outfit. "shit, i forgot my house keys in my locker! text me if ayato is here by the time i'm not back!" you exclaim, running up the stairwell to the second floor.

ayaka blinks and looks around her, "o... kay..."

you pant to catch your breath and in a rush, your shoulder hits someone in the arm. you look back and panic, "sorry, i-!" your pupils dilate at the sight of the girl before you.

"oh? aren't you the drummer from 5O5?" mona curiously tilts her head and places a hand on her hip, seemingly have forgotten the previous slip-up of yours.

you shyly nod, a little intimidated by how much she appeared and acted like scaramouche. the cold aura, the pretty face; just who is their mother?

she held up one of her hands to her mouth and your gaze instantly admired her gorgeous nails and rings. "ah, i see! i've heard a lot about you from my little brother." a sly smile curls at her lips and you anxiously swallow.

thinking about it began to make your mind feel fuzzy, searching for a memory buried within others.

you mumble, "that's interesting..." you recall how he had mistook you to be the group leader, but if was at the live house, then he would have known yun jin was the leader. well, it's probably nothing. there's no point in going into depth, right?

"wait, um..."

"mona," she says, answering for you.

you sigh, "mona, why did you two go to the live house in the first place?" mona answers truthfully, "he asked me to drive him. practically pleaded, at that."

⋆｡°✩ 12-juliet's found a new romeo

a/n: this takes place a week after chapter 11, after school hours

"1, 2, 3. 1, 2, 3."

Eula was counting out the beats as you tried to keep up. She was put in charge of choreography for the production. Albeit, she only had one scene to work with. That might have been for the best though, because a simple waltz scene felt like military training with her in charge.

She didn't hesitate to yell or shout. Several freshmen in the ensemble ran out of the room crying because of Eula. No wonder everyone hates her, you thought, but you kept to yourself. There was no way you were risking her wrath.

Lyney was your dance partner. His right hand rested on your waist, while his left was intertwined with your own. He was keeping up with Eula's instructions. You on the other hand, were doing the exact opposite.

You had stepped on his feet more times than you could count. Which resulted in numerous bruises, not to mention how you were completely off beat.

Eula opened her mouth, preparing to scold you for the hundredth time. You winced in anticipation.

"Everyone take five!"

Furina called out. Then she beckoned for Eula to talk to her. Eula set some papers down and muttered something about how incompetent everyone was before making her way to Furina. She gave you a glare, clearly indicating that you should still practice, thankfully Chiori had grabbed her attention before Eula could say anything else.

You and the ensemble took a collective sigh of relief together. Everyone went on a water break together. You and Lyney let go of each other and made your way to sit on the edge of the stage.

"Sorry about that Lyney." you muttered. "You're gonna be the death of me, (Y/N)." he said, chuckling. You playfully punched his shoulder, as he feigned pain.

"Oh, how you wound me!" he exclaimed pressing the back of his hand to his forehead for dramatic effect. You rolled your eyes as you took a sip out of your water bottle. "Yet you love me regardless."

"That was my first mistake." he replied, which earned him another punch from you. You caught him glancing at your hand, before you could ask him why, he grabbed your wrist. "You're still wearing that ring? Aren't you afraid of losing something so expensive?" he asked.

You pulled your hand away, fidgeting with the piece of jewelry that Xingqiu gave you. "Honestly, I'd feel kinda bad if I didn't wear it." you muttered as you watched Xingqiu laugh with his friend about something.

You smiled watching them fool around together. Part of you was kinda jealous.

I wish I could make you laugh like that

"Archons, you're down so bad." Lyney teased, smirking as you turned red. "Shut up." you whispered swatting his shoulder. You went back to observing the crew + some of the volunteers.

Xingqiu and his friend were transporting some boxes over to the stage. You subconsciously fixed your hair and smoothed out your clothes as he neared you and Lyney.

Xingqiu waved and you returned the gesture. "You do know you can just talk to him right?" you heard Lyney ask. You were about to do just that, but Eula had returned from her meeting with Furina and Chiori.

"Places!" she snapped her fingers as everyone scrambled into their positions, but your mind was preoccupied with other thoughts.

I wish I could just talk to him

Hours later, you still couldn't grasp the routine. Sure, you had gotten better, but not to the point where Lyney's feet didn't suffer anymore. But there was always tomorrow, rehearsal would be over soon anyway.

Eula rubbed her temples as she glanced at her phone, checking the time. "That's a wrap everyone! Thank you for coming." you heard Furina announce as she started packing up.

Fischl and Lyney started gathering their things. "You guys can leave without me, I just need to sort out some things." you told them. Fischl looked at you, then at Xingqiu, she mouthed an "Oh" before dragging Lyney away and whispering something to him.

You waved goodbye before approaching Xingqiu who had just done the same for his friend.

"Hey."

"Hi."

The two of you had exchanged a proper greeting for the first time today, it had been a while since the two of you got some one-on-one time alone. "Did you need something?" he asked.

Is what you would've said, but that would've been to forward. The two of you stood in silence for a few seconds, though it felt like an eternity. You had to think of an excuse so he would stay.

"You wouldn't happen to know how to dance would you?"

Xingqiu looked surprised, then he took your hand and led you to the stage.

"As a matter of fact, I do."

He led you up the steps, his stand still intertwined with yours. The two of you made your way to the center of the stage. His right hand rested on your waist, and his left still held your hand.

He pulled you closer, your chests pressing against one another, you hoped he didn't feel your wild heartbeat. "Um, this is okay with you, right?" he asked, due to your close proximity you could see his cheeks dusted with pink..

You nodded, attempting to maintain eye contact with him.

"Just follow my lead then." he told you.

You counted the beats in your head, but you soon found out that you didn't need to. With Xingqiu, it just came naturally.

You found yourself focusing more on him rather than the actual routine. You noticed how pretty his resting face was, and the golden sheen in his eyes.

Your faces were getting close, dangerously close. You could feel his breath against your lips. The two of you continued dancing, you swayed along with him.

Your foreheads were resting against each other, and the two of you continued to hold eye contact.

"Xingqiu..."

He was leaning in, whether this was something he wanted, or this was just him being in the moment, was something you couldn't determine. You weren't even sure whether you wanted it either.

"Excuse me!"

You heard a voice yell, it was Furina. "Sorry to interrupt but some people are renting the auditorium so you guys need to get out now." she explained before leaving again.

You pulled away from Xingqiu, and he heard him mutter an apology as his face flushed. You went to pick up your bag that rested by the stage.

"I'll see you tommorow, yeah?"

He nodded going to get his things from the seats in the front row.

As you walked towards the exit you felt your stomach doing somersaults. You recalled your thoughts from earlier.

I just want you

You put your hand on your cheek as you felt your face heat up. You turned around to watch Xingqiu pack up his things.

Chapter Four of "Allogene BURST!" is now live!

It had been over a week since Bennett had started his training with Diluc; over a week since Fischl started her hunt for the new Allogenes. But despite her best efforts, despite all the hours of research and investigation, she hadn’t found anything even close to a promising lead… Maybe I should check the recent Hilichurl sightings again…She thought, absentmindedly taking a bite out of the franzbrotchen. It wouldn’t take too long- there had been barely any since the big attack on the school. Or interview some more potential witnesses… Finishing the last of her pastry and downing a second cup of coffee, Fischl packed her binder, last night’s homework, lunch, some reports on the Abyss Order’s recent attacks, a couple hardboiled eggs and a baggie of hazelnuts into her school bag. She put on her knee-high, lace-up boots and made sure the house was locked properly. And, with that, she was on her way to school.
