just read a delightful OT3 story in another fandom involving hot baths and massages, and now I am directly yoinking a bunch of its beats so I can tell myself a bedtime story about Lisa and Kaeya bullying Jean into a hot bath and massages. 10/10, do recommend
#she comes back filthy and exhausted from a big battle#and lisa is like 'you're not getting in my bed in that state'#jean is confused. there was no previous discussion of getting in lisa's bed. this was supposed to be kaeya's date night#and now will inevitably be swallowed up by post-mission reports#(but she and kaeya can sneak in some late-night couch cuddles while reviewing everyone else's reports. so it's fine. really)#at which point lisa informs them both that they are having their date night in her bathroom#look at them. merely stepping into the office would create an hour's worth of work for noelle. add another hour for every item they touch#do they want to do that to noelle? of course not. how COULD they#at which point kaeya is pretty enthusiastically getting with the program. surely they can write their reports at lisa's. once they're clean#waiting to review all the others' reports until tomorrow will give them the chance to clean up first too. great for morale#(and obviously lisa will now be inviting herself along on the bathroom date. it's her tub#jean will just have to endure both of them loving on her at once. how terrible. whatever will she do)#...damnit. logging this for later to see if i can write the bath-and-massages without actually completely ripping off this other writer#anyway#jean has two hands and two aides: coincidence?

I don't have anything for xisang week, bc I was planning on drawing this weekend and instead I just tried to convince my body that breathing is a fun and important function
I am legit so, so upset that I can't contribute to the event. I can't even reuse old unpublished fics, I have nothing that's shareable. And considering how writing has been going lately, the chances that I manage to write something in the coming week are comically low, and I don't know if I'll have time to try painting anything and blarg
I just want to have fun with these two stupid men, is that too much to ask?
#jau rants#I hope I'm better tomorrow for work#I'm REALLY hope I'm better tuesday bc I'm at the office+on a first aid course all day#but yeah today my brain level was so low I just played new pokemon snap all day

My dad was in the area yesterday so I got to eat dinner and talk to him about my plans post-uni. I told him about how I’m planning on probably not applying to any creative industries at all and instead get a full time job unrelated to art and animation and do freelance art and other art on the side. He seemed surprised but also understood that the industry as it is now is very different from where it was 3 years ago when my high school digital arts teacher told them that me getting into the industry was guaranteed.
I’m glad he took it well, I’ve been going back and forth in terms of confidence in my decision.
#for transparency; my current plan is to pick up a first aid certificate and hopefully get a job at a place nearby my apartment.#the first aid course is pretty expensive (between 130$-170$) so i might have to open some commissions to cover it.#the plan so far isn’t perfect since it hinges on me getting this specific job#but currently I’m just trying to work with what I have. hopefully it pays off.#telekitnetic's silly mind box

[Silly shenanigans in the tags, just need to vent, don't mind me]
#so my colleague used to be a flight assistant and she is supposedly skilled in first aid okay#i have autonomic dysfunction which is a common comorbidity of my genetic condition#long story short i faint A LOT#it's not the first time it happened to me while working with my colleague but the other times there was either somebody else present#who could assist me or i've otherwise always managed to ride out the presyncope in a safe way#today it was just me and her and i felt it coming and i went down like in a weird way#next thing i know i am lying down on the veranda while my colleague is in tears completely panicked#because of course when someone faints what can you do? drag them across the floor and carpet for several mts and bring them outside 🤦🏻♀️#and now i have huge bruises on both of my arms in the shape of my colleague's fingers#i am perfectly fine now but the whole situation was so silly! and i also have rug burns on my lower back 💀#so much for someone trained in first aid#thank god i know how to deal with this shit myself lmaooo#just let me pass out in peace 💀#my colleague just couldn't stop shaking for the whole shift because she thought i had cracked my skull open ⚰️

fictional characters being cavalier about head trauma, and shitty movie CPR scenes, are two of my biggest pet peeves in terms of inaccurate depictions of health and first aid things that could and probably do get people killed for real
#like. people learn shit from fiction#you form your understanding of the way the world works from the things you see. and that can include stories you’ve heard about it.#if you’ve never taken a first aid course irl then genuinely your only exposure to these things might be from fiction#if movies always show CPR as being a thing you do for 30 seconds#then give up on as soon as it’s no longer dramatic and interesting#then that’s what people will do!#they will assume there’s no point in persisting with CPR if they don’t get a result within the first couple of repetitions#bc that’s how it’s worked every other time they’ve seen it (in fiction)#if people in the movies are constantly shown getting hit in the head and knocked out and just walking it off#then people in real life will begin to form the impression that head injuries aren’t such a big deal!#and obviously the solution isn’t that all movies need to have perfectly accurate first aid or whatever#i don’t think it’s the job of entertainment to be a teaching tool#but. idk. i do worry.

I got my first aid certificate today!!
#me#personal#work#most of the course was focused on children#because I work with them and I had to get it for work#we learned to perform cpr on a baby#a child and an adult#all different techniques#and so much more#but even though I'm happy I could practice all day today#and ask questions and everything#I hope I don't have to use this (too much)#I think it would be really hard#but I'm happy I know it all now#so at least I can do something if it happens#first aid#cpr

I, for one, cannot BELIEVE that I've not found a Single Windows of Opportunity fic about Teal'c and Jack double teaming the daylights out of daniel, it seems so obvious to me
#the foundations are all there!!#maybe im jist not looking hard enough but i fear straying too far from ao3s beautiful tagging and sorting system- call me apoiled as it may-#-very well be true#anyways im just THINKING here. its been a Long l o n g couple dozen loops and theyve very well exhausted their juggling and crafting and#gate-golfing. and while theyre Trying to focus on getting this translation work Done and Over with its alwaya the same!#daniels voice takes on the same inflections. his eyebrows have shot up his forehead the same way each time either of them-#-correct him on a word or phrase and his hands have flapped helplessly and indignantly the same every time J a c k of all people starts-#-lecturing him about the minute differences between This Meankng and That#and of course ot becomes imposible to not notice- after a couple dozen more loops- that as they start to speak the language better-#-and more confidently; that daniel blushes the same. excuses himself to the restroom the same. but the time gets decidedly longer. and jack-#-figures that means hes gone from taking deep breaths to get it under control and to wrap his mind around it the first couple times-#-to not even having the mental fortitude to withstand another hour of hearing them speaking that latin derivative near Perfectly. He's not-#-just flustered. he's getting off. which then Teal'c may point out that he would not do so lightly; he would have to be severely impaired-#-by his arousal to not be able to simply power through it. And isnt that just Something. Theyd consider it for a while (meaning jack shrugs-#-and tealc raises an eyebrow conspiritorily) and by the next loop; once they reach the point daniel has to excuse himself; jack stops his-#-retreat with two arms around his waist from behind. tealc aids with a hand on his shoulder and another low on his hip from the front and-#-daniel gives a half hearted effort at releasing hinself from their loose grasp before resigning with a sigh; 'you know exactly what i was-#-going to do. dont you?' he asks; somewhat still in awe from the Looping Concept but mostly in utter embarasment. teal'c inclines his head-#-with a knowing smirk just barely playing at his lips but having a Feild Day in his eyes; 'we had an inclination'. Jack is already swaying-#-his hips in gentle circles against daniels ass; telling him how agrivating it is that daniel gets to get off every other loops or so but-#-he has to be zapped back into the commisary with blue balls because he just csnt help getting hard at the thought of daniel getting off-#-over something he did. and because there are no consequences and Jack is actually rather frustrated; he allows himself the luxery of-#-talking dirty into the soft skin of daniels neck; getting lost in the babble of his own words 'Ive learned to draw and paint; took up-#-pottery and guitar and golf and ive damn near perfected every weapon theyll allow me on the range. but daniel-' he presses a devious kiss-#-right under his ear and daniel Shivers despite himself '-nothing ive learned holds a candle to finding out what gets you off'

copying some bits of my park service resume to make a new regular resume and found typos and a sentence i forgot to finish 👍 this is good though. makes me lower my expectations. "who else are they gonna hire to be a glorified cashier in tupelo" someone who doesn't leave one of their actually relevant skills list items half finished, probably
#i proofread it so many times you guys i swear#honestly didnt think i'd GET the job and now not especially confident i'll hear back at all but oh well i gave it a shot.#have inquired abt volunteering in neighboring county and now applying to jobs in larger city since no one in town wants me#going to take a first aid course next time i get paid. want to also study to finally get an amateur radio license#with the hope that both of those things will make me more appealing for future jobs in semi-remote areas#also need to work on basic russian & spanish again. what else can i do to look good on paper#need to see what's up w our master naturalist program. they were revamping it last i checked but i never got an update email....#anyway. how are you guys doing. not job searching i hope this shit sucks

Me, ages 13-17, acting as one of the main participants of our school's first aid club, which effectively acted as a collective school nurse (keeping track of the little paperwork we had to do, being responsible while we didn't have adult supervision for a few years, training the newer members since we didn't have first aid classes until my last few years, etc.):
"Wow, I'm so happy with how much people trust me!"
Me now, a few years later: "What the actual fuck were they thinking, letting children handle this much responsibility?!?"
#i quit because the teacher who was supposed to lead the club came back to our school#after like five or six years of being gone#and she called me “her assistant” and only let me take responsiblity when convenient for her#i fucking hated her#especially since at that point i was more qualified than her. the only thing she was good for was communicating with adults#at least she managed to get us free official first aid courses (so i did two of those)#but yeah. couldn't imagine working under her.#anyway if you want details let me know i am willing to rant about this#rant#personal
