Fireworks Safety Infographic
Every year, thousands of people are injured badly enough to require medical treatment after fireworks-related incidents, with many of the injuries to children and young adults. While the majority of these incidents are due to amateurs attempting to use professional-grade, homemade or other illegal fireworks or explosives, less powerful devices like small firecrackers and sparklers can also cause…

A little something.
Tumblr media
Yep! I barely survived! 😮
But it was the most wondrous firework I had ever made!
Tumblr media
But now Emi insists that if I post anything about fireworks, I have to put her PSA thing in as well! 🤷‍♀️
So, here it is...
Fireworks safety PSA!
Hey kids, and adults!
Don’t mess with fireworks!
You don’t want to end up like poor misguided Edric!
Or worse!
Remember…
Fireworks are explosives!
Explosives are DANGEROUS!
They are NOT toys…
Edric used his knowledge of potions and fireworks to manufacture fireworks far more powerful than those any self respecting witch could require!
Unfortunately, something went wrong, and he was lucky to survive. I was on hand to help with his healing.
A healer may not be near you!
DON’T TAKE RISKS WITH FIREWORKS!
Stay safe out there witches and witchlets!
Em.🧙🏻🙋🏼‍♀️

attending a 4th of july fireworks display but shaking my head the entire time to make it clear that i explicitly condemn US patriotism & imperialism, and that i fully understand the harmful ecological & social ramifications of recreational explosions.

With it being the 4th of July, here in America it means celebrations. However here's some friendly thoughts in terms of celebrating. Please don't shoot off fireworks. Yes they make look pretty and cool but anyone with PTSD can easily be triggered by them into flashbacks, rather they were veterans or not If you drink any alcohol, please don't get behind the wheel. It takes one mistake and then someone is hurt and lives are forever changed. PLEASE don't shoot your guns in the air, the bullet will eventually come down and while yes most land in the grass innocently, they can still end up hurting someone If you are going to go somewhere, please go with other people. It's safest that way especially due to many traveling for the 4th If your going out drinking, hold onto your drink, even if it's non-alcoholic. That way it's kept safer. All in all, please be safe, have fun, and remember that while yes some things might be fun, you still need to be safe and please try to keep in your mind that loud noises aren't really too good for a lot of people near you.

New Years in Kagome's era where she realizes Inuyasha's afraid of fireworks and spend the whole night trying to coax him out from under her bed. She finally succeeds only for him to run into the bathroom, scrabbling and slipping on the tile until she finally burritos him in a big fluffy towel in place of one of those thunder vests.

Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate!
The 4th is often a really exciting time. You're meeting up with your best friends and blowing things up which make beautiful colors in the sky!
However, not everyone enjoys those colorful explosions. Even the most well behaved pets can be terrified by these noises, which are much, much louder to their sensitive ears.
If you have a dog, even if you keep them inside, make sure they have their collar on with identification. Check their microchip info if you are able to, to make sure it is up to date. Put them on their leash and keep it on so you have something to grab for if they scare and bolt out the door. If you have a tracking device that connects to Apple or satellite, connect that to their collar. Make a note of your local animal shelter's phone numbers in case your pup gets lost. If you have a thunder shirt or similar, tonight is a good time to use it.
If you have a cat, make sure they too have a collar with identification and a tracker attached if possible. Check their microchip and make sure it's up to date. If you can keep them in one room of your home overnight, that may be best.
If you have birds, it may be best to put them to bed before the fireworks start. Don't have them free roaming your house during, all it takes is the door opening at the wrong time for them to get out.
If you have hamsters or any other caged animal, wait until tomorrow to free roam them, or free roam before the fireworks begin. You may try covering their cage with a light blanket to reduce stress.
If you have horses, make sure you have an ID on them somehow. Try to make the fences easier to see so they're less likely to run over them in a blind panic. If you're keeping them stalled, do everything you can to reduce stress, and I still reccomend having an ID on them somehow regardless if you keep their halter on.
And if you have PTSD, autism, or get sensory overload from something else, noise canceling headphones and earplugs are your friends. You can combine these to further reduce the sound.
For some people with PTSD, being outside and watching the fireworks may help reduce the stress because you know when another explosion is coming. You'll see it go up, and the pause before the blast, so you can mentally prepare and it's less of a surprise. For other people, reducing sensory input by being in a dark room + noise canceling headphones may help more.
If you want to see the fireworks without the noise, there are live streams and you can mute the volume. All the color, none of the noise!
Have fun this 4th, but most importantly keep safe both you and those you love.

Six Flags?! I didn’t think he lived in Texas with the sweaters and stuff.
There's Six Flags locations all over the US :) I used to go to the one near Los Angeles all the time when I was little.
