Have had the new TOP song on repeat all day and something just hit me about it

Little heartbreaking tidbit someone mentioned is the fact that if judging by the lyrics, this song is essentially Viktor saying goodbye to Jayce, possibly hoping he’ll understand and forgive him before he ultimately changes forever Which generally we all kinda got that vibe from the song anyways, its basically highlighting that Viktor possibly does know now that he's fucked up but its more of a "to far to go back situation" especially given the face he's essentially brainwashed at this point

But someone else pointed out one of the lyrics-

"I can feel the light shine on my face“ Hurts just a little more when you realize that at certain times when it’s sung, depending on how you hear it, it sounds like he’s saying “Jayce” instead of “face”

Hindsight is 20/20, but I don't think you needed to be psychic to guess that destroying ALL the shimmer supply was a bad idea.

In Act Three it took three whole doctors to save Vi's life after she gets slashed by a Noxian blade across the chest. Yet in s1 it took a single drop of shimmer to save Vi from the deep stab in the gut Sevika gave her without any other form of medical intervention.

There's just a really gross sense of irony that Caitlyn and Piltover at large took away Zaun's main source of medical care (as controversial as it may be), and then put it's people through a meat grinder battle while withholding such care.

It doesn't help that the meat grinder battle was useless ploy for Jayce to get close to Viktor and so a lot of people, specifically Zaunites, died for nothing.

You don’t understand what this means to me, Vi and Caitlyn get to be together. I get to imagine all their happiness together: Caitlyn gets to apologize, Vi gets to wake up next to Caitlyn every day and go to sleep next to her every night, Caitlyn doesn’t have to fill that hole anymore either, they get to kiss softly and make love, they get to comfort each other when they have nightmares, they get to call each other pet names and tease each other, they get to fight by each other’s side, Cait gets to tell Vi she loves her and Vi gets to say it back, they get to call one another out when either one slips, they get to balance each other, they get to be a mundane couple and sit by the fire place together and eat together, and everyone gets to see them be the power couple they are. Despite all the pain, they get each other, just a little bit of happiness in a world that crushed almost everyone else’s.

Forever obsessed with the fact that future historians will say that hero Jayce Talis sacrificed his life to defeat the dreadful villain who wanted to turn all humans into robots, while in reality he CHOSE to die with the said villain, who was also his soulmate in literally every universe, because he was in love with him and didn't want him to die alone

I know Mel is supposed to always be composed and strong and beautiful but can you imagine if they let her ugly cry? If in her finale scene, after we see everyone elses happy or ambiguous endings, she's alone on the warship, hunched over herself, gasping for air between retched sobs.

Because she watched Elora die in front of her.

Because a horrific enemy kidnaps her from the sanctity of her own home.

Because she's imprisoned in solitary confinement for months, then thinks she finds her long lost brother only to lose that hope in the same breath.

Because after all else fails, she's forced to kill the only family she has left to protect the city she'd grown to love, in that very moment taking up the mantle of the family name she dreamed of making proud but not like this. Never like this.

And, worst of all, she's become a mage a wolf something she doesn't recognize. Something feared by the city she loves, feared -for a moment- even by the man she loved.

But he's gone too now, isn't he?

So she has to leave her home, again.

Alone.

Again.

I haven't seen enough post-canon completely horrified jayvik. This is Viktor's like. Third time dying, WHY WON'T IT STICK. He'd probably be upset he's still around, forced to live after all he's done. And this is Jayce's FIRST time dying, he'd be confused and thankful? In a way? Still clutching Viktor in their cosmic death pose because he can't breathe and doesn't know if this is real.

I'm never not thinking about the way Viktor everso gently rubs his hand over Jayce's forearm right before they're about to die. It's so subtle, I almost missed it, but when watching the scene back, you can see him move his hand up and down over Jayce's arm in a soothing, comforting motion. In his final moments, Viktor's face is relaxed and peaceful, accepting of his fate, so he uses those last precious seconds to comfort his partner in the way Jayce best understands.

Because if there's one thing about Jayce that's been obvious since the beginning, it's that Jayce uses physical touch to both give and receive comfort throughout the series. It's a big part of how he communicates and how he best connects with people he's close to, whether it's by putting a hand on someone's shoulder or back, or going in for a hug, etc. Even in the final scene, he is CONSTANTLY reaching out to Viktor. There are probably a dozen ways he could have shared his memories of the bad future with Viktor, but Jayce chose to hug him. When Viktor pushes him away and tells him to leave, Jayce first puts a hand on his shoulder to get his attention before taking Viktor's hand and placing the crystal in his palm. To drive his point home, he looks Viktor in the eye and tells him, "we do this together." While the crystal destabilizes, Jayce holds on to Viktor's hand for dear life and when they're forced apart, Jayce fights his way back to grab hold of him again. And finally, when he reaches out to pull Viktor closer for the last time, it gives me the impression that he's almost asking permission to stay with Viktor until the end. Jayce has made his own position pretty clear through his actions. The whole time, he's pretty much saying, "I broke my promise to you and put you on this path because I couldn't bear to lose you. Now, I'm trying to keep that promise, but let me bear the consequences with you. Please let me stay with you. Please don't leave me to face living in a world without you by my side."

And that's when Viktor finally reaches back. He finally accepts Jayce's touch, accepts his love, accepts that Jayce is choosing him, choosing them, here at the end of all things, and chooses him in return. In their last moments, they are true partners once more. Jayce holds on like he's terrified Viktor is going to disappear, Viktor holds on like he knows Jayce won't. With his hand on Jayce's arm, moving gently back and forth, Viktor uses his touch to reaffirm their connection and as a way to soothe Jayce's unspoken fears. It's a way for Viktor to tell him, "I'm right here, I'm here with you now, and I'm not going anywhere without you again."

And it makes me fucking feral.
