Heimerdinger as a character has really tone depth relationships with his Zaunite students. For example, when Viktor's upset he's going to die from his illness Heimerdinger pretty much went "oh well, that's life". But Viktor was dying directly because he was exposed to dangerous mine gas as a kid. It's Piltover's fault Viktor was dying and Heimerdinger was in charge the entire time, and Heimerdinger has no sense of self awareness for what he's done.

-When she was little, her parents tried to get her to learn another language, but after much frustration and annoyance, she couldn’t speak it very well- understand it and read it? Yup, but Caitlyn couldn’t speak it without her pronunciation being off.

- hates herbal tea, she likes normal tea with a bit too much sugar and quite milky

-if you was in a relationship with her, Caitlyn would call you nicknames like ‘darling’ or ‘my love’

-after her eye got gauged out, she sometimes got phantom pain in her eye.

-talking about her now non existent eye, it took her a while to get used to the eyepatch

-Caitlyn gets really excited if someone mentions a topic she loves and can go on a 2 hour rant in extreme detail about it

-loves people playing with her hair, it soothes her

-similar to the one above, up until about 6 she couldn’t sleep without someone rubbing her back

-when she’s sick, Caitlyn HATES people touching her, she doesn’t mind if you make soup, hold her hair up but touching her? Nope!

-When Caitlyn was younger, she cried if she got told off, but she also grew out of that quickly

-if she’s having a scone, it HAS to be with jam and cream otherwise she won’t eat it

-after the finale, she went to the undercity a lot more, even if it just was for a few hours by herself

-Caitlyn is INSANE at any board game, it doesn’t matter what one, even ones what are pure luck, she’s still amazing at it.

-adore people rubbing her back to fall asleep, or her arm, any of the two and she will be flat out in seconds

-Caitlyn is a decent cook, she can do basic recipes, but she’s even better at baking

Oh those nasty glares and head-shake… The dynamic of oppression is far from over and I hope Sevika keeps on fighting for Zaun’s sovereignty.

A single seat in the council to represent Zaun is a goddamn joke…

- Zaunites dying to help Piltover in battle while wearing enforcer uniforms, even though Piltover did nothing to earn it

- Silco, one of the few pro-Zaun/anti-Piltover characters from season 1, reduced into a mouthpiece for "forgiving those who wronged you" and letting go

- Jinx, one of the few anti-Piltover characters, becoming redeemed by sympathizing with Piltovians, being apologetic for killing Councilors, and feeling like she should die to allow her sister to be happy with her enforcer girlfriend

- Vi not having any problem with her Piltovian enforcer girlfriend gassing Zaun, and reduced to kneeling for Caitlyn's pussy in a prison cell, where she was locked for years as a child by an enforcer

- Jayce telling Viktor that his disease was never a weakness to be cured even though the disease was caused by Piltover polluting Zaun

- Ekko never calling out Heimerdinger's failings as a ruler nor Vi for joining the enforcers (even though he does in the game), and also risking all the Firelights' lives to help Piltover

- Sevika not having any lines in Act 3, never interacting with Jinx or reacting to Isha's death, and also risking her life to help Piltover, a decision which was made off screen

Something I find really interesting in Arcane is what is and is not normalized among the setting and characters, especially Silco.

In 1x08 "Oil and Water" Jayce and Vi raid one of Silco's Shimmer manufacturing plants, which Jayce is rightfully horrified to find staffed with child laborers who are caught in the crossfire. To Piltovan, and probably audience eyes, this is barbaric and a moral event horizon for a villain who would use children this way.

But none of the Zaunites are horrified, or even fazed. Even Vi, who loathes Silco and certainly wouldn't hesitate to blame him, sees nothing amiss. Child labor, even criminal child labor, is not considered a failing in Zaun. Vander and Benzo lovingly raised their children, but involved them in their burglary and fencing. What other life skills could they offer them? There do not appear to be any schools in Zaun and any economy is grey at best. It’s a neglectful parent who leaves their child alone on the streets of Zaun. As sick as it is, these children were comparatively privileged. Renni’s son was the child of a Chembaroness, and when Renni finds his body, she blames Silco not for placing him in harm's way, but for refusing to avenge him. And her rage brings to light the massive double standard Silco holds with parenting Jinx.

Silco is unusual among Zaunite parents in that he doesn’t use his child for any sort of work. The only "labor" Jinx does for Silco is nursing and in-house graphic design, and any involvement she has in his operation is at her own behest. Albeit in a very twisted way, it’s traits that could make Silco a “good” parent that draw confusion and resentment in Zaun. He takes note of his daughter’s interests and gets her the resources to explore them. He goes out of his way to nurture the talents she chooses and tries to guide her to a path he thinks will be fulfilling. And when she struggles, he puts her first, before business, politics, or even others’ well-being and safety.

Many things about Silco make him a typical Zaunite man. He employs child labor. He wears makeup. He’s disabled from some aspect of hard living with few resources. He chain-smokes in self-destructive defiance of every other toxin in his environment. He hates Piltover.

But for all his hatred, Silco dresses Piltovan, in sharp clothes lacking Zaun’s asymmetry motif. He’s unusual not for wearing makeup or being disabled, but for using makeup to try and hide his disfigurement, his Zaunite asymmetry. And his treatment of people, good and bad, is very Piltovan in Zaunite eyes.

Exhaustion seeped through your body. Clouding your mind, your vision. You can't remember the last time you felt so weak. Ambessa had been in a meeting with the Council, going on about whatever it was she was talking about. You weren't sure. Even as her girlfriend she kept you in the dark on a lot of projects. Saying that you didn't need to worry about them and to let her handle things.

Of course, you listened without question. You always did. Ambessa loved your loyalty. It was one of the reasons she had fallen for you to begin with. She'd stationed you just outside the door, being her personal guard for the evening. You agreed without hesitation, having mot realized your growing exhaustion at the time. It's been a while since you'd had a good sleep. Often only managing to get no more than a couple hours before work called again. Seems your schedule was finally catching up to you.

"And then if we-" Ambessa stopped talking when she heard a clatter outside the door. The sound of a bunch of armour hitting the floor. Followed by a thud. What were you doing out there? Ambessa looked to the Council, who was watching her every movement. Having already been wary of her," just a moment."

She walked over to the door to check on you. Not knowing what she would find on the other side. Were you hurt? Alive? She didn't think you could be taken down so easily. So she held hope. Ambessa threw the door open, her eyes widening when she saw you. Unconscious on the floor. Her eyes quickly scanned the area for any threat or cause. When she realized there was none, Ambessa became confused. Before it dawned on her. Exhaustion.

Kneeling down next to you, Ambessa picked you up with ease. She could see the bags under your eyes. The pure tiredness etched into your face. She sighed, well she could always continue the meeting with the Council another time. You were her priority. Damn you, weakening her. You were her greatest weakness next to Mel. But at the same time, you made her all the more stronger. Giving her reasons to fight. Reasons to stay alive.

"We'll continue our conversations later," Ambessa addressed the Council. They shared confused looks, Mel eyeing her mother. Glancing to you in her arms. She knew about you and her mother's relationship. Sometimes Mel wasn't sure how to feel about it.

Ambessa carried you out of the room and to the place you and her were staying while in Piltover. She set you down on the bed, hand trailing your face. Cupping your cheek. She can't remember the last time she'd ever seen you so worn out. Just how little sleep were you getting? You weren't putting all your energy into your work, were you? Oh, of course you were. That's just what you did. You were a worker.

"Rest, my darling," she murmured. Not caring if you couldn't hear her, her thumb brushed your cheek before she let go. Giving you one more thoughtful gaze before heading to the kitchen. Getting you a glass of water for whenever you woke up. Normally she would just make somebody else do this, if it were a glass for herself. But when it came to you? Ambessa was the only one to take care of you. That's just how she wanted it.
