Have had the new TOP song on repeat all day and something just hit me about it

Little heartbreaking tidbit someone mentioned is the fact that if judging by the lyrics, this song is essentially Viktor saying goodbye to Jayce, possibly hoping he’ll understand and forgive him before he ultimately changes forever Which generally we all kinda got that vibe from the song anyways, its basically highlighting that Viktor possibly does know now that he's fucked up but its more of a "to far to go back situation" especially given the face he's essentially brainwashed at this point

But someone else pointed out one of the lyrics-

"I can feel the light shine on my face“ Hurts just a little more when you realize that at certain times when it’s sung, depending on how you hear it, it sounds like he’s saying “Jayce” instead of “face”

SO FIRST OF ALL. I also caught up on arcane and it’s sooooo amazing but I’m saving that for another post. I’m also so excited to see how this song plays into the story it’s going to be so gorgeous. I’m also not going to talk about arcane any more in this post bc I’m not a snitch this is a spoiler free zone

This song is so fucking good ugh it’s so gorgeous the lyrics are so. Mmm I don’t relate to this song at all I’m totally normal!

AROP IT WITH THE JESUS ANALOGIES FOR FIVE SECONDS THEY DRIVE ME CRAZYYYYY /POS but seriously that part is sooo important to me both in a religious sense and in a personal sense. I can’t put into words what I’m tryna say but it’s like being a christian and begging for forgiveness even when you feel unforgivable. When you’re so far down in your own bad thoughts and actions you don’t think anyone can love you again but god still does and that’s so beautiful

So with the religious stuff talked about, this song feels really different from their other songs but also the same in a way? I mean first of all, the drums in it aren’t necessarily bad but they’re not as loud and daring as they usually are. Second, I don’t think I’ve ever heard a violin in a tøp song but I might be forgetting something. I like it tho it’s good

Third, the lyrics remind me of Ruby and Addict with a pen for two different reasons. It’s like Ruby bc of the way the lyrics are structured and it’s like awap bc it’s telling the same message about religion

Tyler’s vocals in this song also???? THEYRE SO GOOD AAAABNGNG he’s so good at his job omg. This song is so beautiful.
