The Bad Kids ranked from Highest stat total to Lowest
Fabian Average 15.8 Total 95 (Lowest stat 12)
Adaine Average 15.2 Total 91 (Lowest stat 13)
Gorgug Average 14.2 Total 85 (Lowest stat 10)
Fig Average 13.8 Total 83 (lowest stat 11)
Kristen Average 13.8 Total 83 (Lowest stat 4)
Riz Average 13.7 Total 82 (Lowest stat 6)
Fabian has a 20 in both Dex and Cha meaning both of his Battle Master and Bard saving throws are maxed and equal to any other caster in the party
With Adaine's lowest stat being a 13 that technically means she can multiclass into any class without DM allowance (Multiclassing rule you need a 13 minimum or DM okays it)
Gorgug actually had to drop 2 points in str to boost his int meaning that his to hit bonus actually never improves in Junior Year it just regains the missing +1
Fig while having no negative modifiers in any of her stats makes it seem that she is low on the list none of her stats are above 15 except for Cha
Kristen has amazing stats with everything being at least a +2 modifier if not a +3 it's just that the 4 Dex (-3 modifier) drags her stats down because on average she has well above average stats
Riz has good dex/int it's just that his str is a 6 which was a great decision by Brian Murphy because Riz having the lowest stats of the Bad Kids wasn't even noticeable

75 MORE essential single-character verbs (单字动词)
Tumblr media
People seemed to really enjoy my recent post 75 essential single-character verbs (单字动词)...so here's 75 MORE VERBS.
It was really difficult to put together the first list. I had a spreadsheet of literally hundreds of characters that I had to whittle down. So I was happy to give some of the eliminated characters a second chance.

went back and rewatched all of the Intrepid Heroes' BTS videos that they released prior to Junior Year to see what they teased about this season:
Emily said her dream side quest would be the butter jellies, but she couldn't say anything more. Obviously, those are the butter jellies of Last Stand Exam fame!
Emily also said she wanted to retire Fig but Brennan wouldn't let her, and it was a "fun surprise" when she found out why. Not sure we've seen this come to fruition yet. There's been Fig-centric stuff, but nothing that would be so important to the plot or the character that Brennan couldn't rewrite it. Unless I'm missing something? I kind of hope it's still to come so i can keep adding things to my string board as i watch!
Murph said that "one of the dumbest, funniest things that happened in the show happens this season" and it broke him. I'm like 95% sure this was the late, tactical yorbies. (So tactical! So late!)
They all made other allusions to character development and plot themes, but these were the major specific references that made me wildly curious when i first watched them!

I'm rewatching Junior Year Finale. . Since I'm curious. .there were a lot of "kids to camp" aka IH gifting their dice to someone. .
I wanted to see the damage for the LAVA (18d10)... I love how it ended up having 18d10 in a spare box for this roll, since so much lava damage happened.
117 - Lou. (Fabian to Jace)
106 - Murph (Riz to KLCK)
113 - Emily (Mary Ann attacking Fig)
95 - Zac (Gorgug to Jace)
69 - Emily (Fig to Jace)

Thank you to @thecoolerlucky for the tag!

Storm has done quite a bit. He's a gay outlaw who doesn't give a fig about decency.
Lucy 14
Lucy is a Soiled Dove/Former Saloon Girl who knows how to have a good time! She is now a happily married woman... who still knows how to have a good time.
Thomas 53
Thomas is an outlaw, and while very capable of doing naughty or sexual things, he often abstains.
Rose 71
A woman who knows what she wants (women) and fully believes that her husband is aware and happily pursuing his own wants.
Iris 78
Iris is a criminal, but has a lot of anxiety around sex and would frankly rather not.

My top 10  most anticipated fights of the weekend (7/31/2024-8/5/2024). In no particular order. But also, bonus stuff cause there's more stuff going on I'm happy to see.
Tumblr media
Terence Crawford vs Israil Madrimov - Terence Crawford is arguably the best boxer on the planet. He went undisputed in 2 divisions. He absolutely picked apart and tore up an elite welterweight in Errol Spence. And now he’s got his eyes set on Canelo. But that means trying to bridge 3 weight classes. So he’s moving up to super welterweight, where he will challenge WBA champion Israil Madrimov. And while the Boots fight is the one boxing fans wanted to see, Crawford is a 36 year old moving up a weight class to fight a young undefeated world champion. Nothing to sneeze at. Madrimov is a more than capable world championship level boxer and there isn’t a ton of tape out there on him because he’s still relatively young in the game. The table is set for some magic.
Cory Sandhagen vs Umar Nurmagomedov - UFC on ABC 7 - First time we will see Cory Sandhagen in almost 11 months after he tore his tricep mid-fight against Rob Font. Crazy to see how quiet it’s been for Sandhagen, even with the injury. The constant flux of the 135lb division has had him lost in the narrative. With O’Malley becoming champ, his weird rematch with Chito, Yan finally getting the bounce back win, Figs moving up to 135lbs, Cejudo coming back, and now Merab finally getting his title fight, I feel like Sandhagen is an afterthought. But nothing will boost your career like putting an L on a Nurmagomedov. Umar has done his part of adding to his father and brother’s family legacy, winning 5 straight inside the UFC to stay a perfect 17-0. The interesting part of this one is Usman has a propensity to strike with his opponents, far more than his brother did while Cory has shown he is susceptible to a heavy, aggressive wrestling game. We’ll see how it shakes out but I’m super excited for this one.
Chito Vera vs Deiveson Figueiredo - UFC on ABC 7 - this one has stinker potential. I like Chito, but the man spends 95% of every fight just walking forward throwing nothing. He’s got huge potential for violence. He finished that otherwise one sided beating of O’Malley by hurting him with a bad knee to the body. But he will just let you circle if you want for 15-25 minutes. And I feel like that is a lot of what Figueiredo has built his game around at 135lbs.He’s not the huge powerhouse bulldozer anymore. He’s just a really fast, accurate puncher who can leap across distance. I can see this being a fight where rounds are decided by like a handful of exchanges. But still hyped as I like watching both fighters fight when they’re at their best.
Elves Brener vs Joel Alvarez - UFC on ABC 7 - Brenner is fun. Alvarez is fun. Alvarez is a 6’2 freak at 155lbs who likes to use his size to set up submissions (he’s won all 20 fights by stoppage, 17 by sub). Brener is a Chute Boxe fighter. Nuff said. Should be electric while it lasts. And I don’t expect it to last terribly long.
Dakota Ditcheva vs. Jena Bishop - PFL 7: 2024 Playoffs - I’m not sure if this fight will be competitive. Small sample size but Dakota Ditcheva really looks like the goods. But Jena Bishop is an elite jiu jitsu player and if you’re going to get exposed for your lack of grappling skills as a striker, she’s the type you lose to. Ditcheva is a fantastic striker who has shown some tremendous finishing ability against lesser competition. Jena Bishop will be the best fighter she has fought thus far and it’ll be interesting to see if the knowledge of her grappling skills causes Ditcheva to forego some of her tools to avoid possibly being taken down.
Taila Santos vs. Liz Carmouche - PFL 7: 2024 Playoffs - A weird fight. Feels like with a different bracket, this is the final. This has stinker potential too tbh. Carmouche is not historically a fun fighter and Santos is someone who is more known for giving Valentina Shevchenko a hard time rather than a fun fight. But the interesting thing for me is which version of each fighter shows up. Santos is so content to grapple, wrestle, etc with a lot of her competition and when forced into that type of fight, can prove to be incredibly difficult to handle. Carmouche is someone who theoretically will try to take her down and beat her up with elbows from inside the guard/half guard. But we’ve also seen instances of Carmouche getting an opponent who she will decide to strike with, because the idea of extended grappling sequences seem too much or too risky. I’m interested in that dynamic, even if it makes for a hard 15 minutes to watch
Andy Cruz vs Antonio Moran - It’s Andy Cruz. Of course I’m interested. The rush does not stop. Cruz has fought competition high above the benchmark for guys just starting out their careers. He’s fighting former world title challengers at the very start of his pro career. And working with Bootst team in Philly shows me he’s serious about become not only a world champion but a big player in the sport. He gets a spot on the undercard of Crawford-Madrimov. Matchroom is positioning him for big lightweight fights. And while Antonio Moran isn’t a world beater, he is a guy who is 30-6-1 and been a step up fight for fighters like Devin Haney, Arnold Barboza, and Jose Pedraza.
David Morrell vs Radivoje Kalajdzic - David Morrell was the scariest fighter at 168lbs. HUGE power out of both hands with some really crafty set-ups thanks to that Cuban amateur background of his. But with the politics of the division revolving around Canelo, he decided enough of that and has moved up to 175lbs is search of a big fight. Radivoje Kalajdzic is a fine 175lber in his own right. Not a world champion level but a fine first fight in the weight class with some pop himself. And considering how hard it was for David Benavidez when he made the jump against Oleksandr Gvozdyk, we’ll see how much of Morrell’s power really carries upwards.
Nabil Anane vs Felipe Lobo - I don’t know as much about Nabil Anane as I should but from what I have seen he is 6’7 fighting at 145lbs. A true Muay Thai Sebastian Fundora. And I’m here for it. Lobo is always a fun fight, win or lose. Nabil has won 3 straight in ONE and looked like a killer in the process. What’s not to love?
Dedduanglek vs Nakrab 2 - A rematch of a fight I remember really enjoying the first time around.
Honorable mention:
Caroline Dubois vs Maira Moneo - I had a secret 11th fight I wanted on here. Rare in recent weeks seeing as a lot of folks are taking off for the summer. Caroline Dubois is emerging as a true elite talent at lightweight. With Katie Taylor up at 140lbs, those LW titles are potentially floating in the ether. Dubois is looking to grab the interim WBC belt in a fight against a very game Maira Moneo. Haven’t seen much of Moneo but she has a win over an old but game Erica Farias. Can’t put this in the top ten because I don’t know Moneo like at all but I’m always excited to see Caroline Dubois.
Olympic Wrestling - Olympic Wrestling starts on Monday, August 5th. And to me, it’s by far the most fun combat sport at the games. You got so many fantastic wrestlers competing this year. Akhmed Tazhudinov, Stevan Micic, Rei Higuchi, Hassan Yazdani, Amir Zare, Geno Petriashvili, etc. Mijaín López is looking to become the first ever 5x Olympic gold medalist in Greco-Roman, cementing himself as the greatest Olympic wrestler of all time. Yui Susaki is looking to etch her name as the heir to Kaori Icho and Saori Yoshida and lead the Japanese Women’s Wrestling team into their next era of dominance. American Amit Elor is the future of the US Wrestling team and after capturing 8 gold medals at the world level in the last four years, she’s looking to add a gold medal. Speaking of Americans - Kyle Dake, Spencer Lee, Zain Retherford, Kennedy Blades, Aaron Brooks, Kyle Snyder, Mason Parris, Dominique Parrish, Helen Maroulis, Kayla Miracle, and more. It’s a great squad. They’ll definitely bring home some medals. Looking forward to it!
Feel free to show what has got you all excited this week in the world of combat sports.

I'm somewhat jealous of places that get Psilocybe species with less deadly lookalikes like Psilocybe semilanciata I'm always 95-99% confident when I am looking a member of the azurescens/cyanescens complex in the pnw which grow sympatrically with Galerina sect. Naucoriopsis, which all test positive for deadly amatoxins vs. Smaller non-toxic members of Galerina

Treant Reaper
Tumblr media
“Arboreal Reaper” © Paizo Publishing, accessed at Archives of Nethys here
[I still don’t like “arboreal” as the SRD-free name for treants. “Arboreal” means “living in trees” not “an animated tree”, damnit. But I do like the ways that Paizo has expanded the arboreal/treant family. Making one focused on decay is a cool concept, and making it look like a strangler fig is an excellent choice of aesthetic.]
Treant Reaper CR 7 N Plant This stunted, leafless tree has a humanoid face and a vaguely humanoid shape. Long roots and tendrils grow from its legs and back, and its bark appears warped and worn.
Treant reapers are smaller, more sinister-looking relatives of treants. They are not evil, but are enamored with decay, fungal creatures, and other aspects of rot and regeneration. They gain their sobriquet from their habit of finishing off slowly dying, suffering trees, allowing their nutrients to be absorbed by other creatures and recycled. They are most active during the autumn and winter in cold or temperate forests, but may be on walkabout throughout the year in tropical rainforests.
A treant reaper is quicker to act with violence than a normal treant is—they are especially hostile towards loggers who would remove the wood from a forest to decompose, or those who wish to burn a forest down for a short pulse of nutrient rich ashes. They typically try to attack from ambush, lobbing barbed thorns from range or draining the moisture from enemies in an attack similar to a horrid wilting spell. Enemies that close the gap are battered with the reaper’s fists, and with the roots that grow from their legs and back. Treant reapers are happy to fight to the death, as long as they can be sure that their nutrients remain in their forest.
The forests that are protected by a treant reaper often gain something of a sinister reputation. Wicked druids and witches may feel at home in these forests, and undead sometimes lurk beneath their boughs. As long as these beings do not harm the cycles of nature, the reaper pays them no mind. Treant reapers often plant their seeds in ruined buildings or on top of dead trees—the sprout draws nutrients from these structures and breaks them down with their roots before uprooting itself and entering its mobile adulthood.

That creature takes 10d6 points of damage (Fort DC 19 halves). A creature with the plant or ooze type, or the water subtype, takes 10d8 damage instead. A treant reaper can use this ability once every 1d4 rounds. The save DC is Charisma based. Thorns (Ex) A treant reaper can throw one thorn as a standard action, or two as a full attack action. Treat this as a ranged attack made with a thrown weapon with a range increment of 30 feet.

10, 11, and 20 for the OC ask game for all of them!
(I'm loving these so much, this is my enrichment)
Ambrose Varyn
10. Does your OC like to spend time alone or with others more?
Ambrose is not a fan of big crowds or large groups, but otherwise he doesn't really care either way. He's perfectly happy alone but he's also happy to hang out with like, a couple friends
11. What time does your OC usually go to sleep?
It's completely inconsistent. He basically just goes until he actually gets the chance to sleep or he passes out. Sometimes he gets to go to bed at 9, sometimes he doesn't make it till like 5 am. It's also pretty common to find him asleep in random parts of the castle, especially in the Room of Requirement. One time no one had any idea where he was until Natty found him curled up fast asleep behind the one eyed witch statue
20. Who is your OC's role model?
Professor Fig. Very obvious answer but a very true one. He didn't have anyone to look up to his whole life until he met Fig. Fig actually took care of him and taught him things and was the closest thing Ambrose ever had to an actual parent. Even after his death Fig inspired Ambrose every single day.
Percival Valley
10. Does your OC like to spend time alone or with others more?
Percival prefers a large group of friends to just one or two, but he also really needs his alone time or lives are threatened. With a large group of people he can blend in and out of the attention when he wants.
11. What time does your OC usually go to sleep?
It's usually pretty late because he tends to lose track of time with whatever he's doing, but it's usually somewhere between 11pm and 2 am
20. Who is your OC's role model?
Percival's role model is also Fig but in a different sense from Ambrose. Percival's favorite thing about Fig was how curious he was and how clever he was. Percival loves learning and especially magic theory, and Fig ignited those things in him.
Idris Valley
10. Does your OC like to spend time alone or with others more?
Idris absolutely despises being alone. They are with someone or in a communal space literally all the time. Being on their own is one of their worst nightmares. They wouldn't ever need to be tortured for information, look them in a room by themself for three hours and they will do anything you want
11. What time does your OC usually go to sleep?
Has a surprisingly consistent sleep schedule, not out of discipline, they just always get tired in the early evening so they're always in bed by 10 pm, 11 at the latest
20. Who is your OC's role model?
They will take this to their GRAVE, and will in fact argue if you say it, but Idris' role model is actually Percival. Percival really stepped up when their parents died and Idris seriously admires him for it. They think Percival is the smartest, wisest, strongest person in the world and Idris just hopes that can be like that one day
Odysseus Carrow
10. Does your OC like to spend time alone or with others more?
Odysseus hates pretty much everyone and too many people will seriously overstimulate him, so he spends 95% of his time alone. Maybe he'll spend time with one or two people at a time but that's it.
11. What time does your OC usually go to sleep?
Odysseus has not slept since he was like seven. Really he just only gets maybe 3-4 hours of sleep a night. He's constantly exhausted, constantly tired, but he's also constantly pushing himself. He only sleeps the bare minimum to stay alive and not pass out in the middle of class
20. Who is your OC's role model?
He has admitted this only once in his life, but his role model is Ominis. He doesn't understand how Ominis has the strength to not just rebel against his family but to even have different opinions from them. Odysseus has spent his entire life being molded by his family and he's given up resisting it and just let it happen. But Ominis is still vocally against his family. And despite being against his family he is still strong enough to endure them and go through with his arranged marriage to Odysseus just to help him and try to protect them. Odysseus wishes he was that strong.

Near-term NASA Mars and lunar in situ propellant production: complexity versus simplicity
First, lunar ISPP is analyzed from aspects of lunar resources, near-term lunar processes, carbothermal process, polar ice, and reduction of iron oxides. There are basically 4 potential lunar resources: (1) Silicates in regolith containing typically >40% oxygen. (2) Regolith containing FeO for hydrogen reduction. FeO content may vary from 5% to 14%, leading to recoverable oxygen content in the 1 to 3% range. (3) Imbedded atoms in regolith from solar wind (typically parts per million). (4) Water ice in regolith pores in permanently shadowed craters near the poles (unknown percentage but possibly a few percent in some locations). NASA near-term plans for lunar ISPP appear to be based on H2 and O2 propellants. The carbothermal process (see Fig. 1) produces oxygen from lunar regolith. The plan is to have 2 ISPP modules, each operating independently in batch mode during a 7.4-month continuous sunlit period. The original plan called for each module to produce 8 tons of O2 per year, but a scaled-down version to produce 3.5 tons per year was provided instead. As for polar ice, the author imagines a system in which the excavator/hauler make 1200 trips, delivering 416 kg of water-laden regolith per trip, while the regolith processing station tankers make 37 trips, delivering 275 kg of water per trip. However, it should be noted that nobody has a reliable estimate based on in situ observation. The hydrogen reduction system operates by reducing metal oxides, mainly iron oxide, within the lunar regolith. However, Initial modeling exercises for predicting the overall system mass and power requirements for various oxygen production mass rates using hydrogen reduction which are developed by NASA yield impressively large figures.
Then, Mars ISPP is analyzed from aspects of Mars resources, electrolysis of atmospheric CO2, reverse water gas synthesis (RWGS), and water-based Mars ISPP. Mars resources for ISPP include (a) the atmosphere containing ~95% CO2 as an oxygen supply, (b) regolith containing minerals with water of hydration as a source of H2O, and (c) water ice embedded in near-surface regolith at higher latitudes. The simplest and most straightforward approach to ISPP is electrolyzing CO2 in the Mars atmosphere, splitting CO2 into CO and O2. The system is shown in Fig. 5. It seems likely that NASA could leverage the field of solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) technology with a relatively small investment, by continuing to adapt advances in terrestrial SOEC technology to space applications. As for RWGS, the efficiency is highly influenced by reaction temperature. It remains to be seen how efficient and practical this system will be when further developed. At last, argue that a water-based Mars ISPP is preferred rather than a process produces both CH4 and O2, because for the near term with a minimum of complexity, bringing CH4 to Mars is simpler than carrying water.
Finally, power for lunar and Martian ISPPs are discussed. Every form of ISPP is power hungry. Providing power for ISPP on the Moon or Mars is a major challenge. The power requirement for ISPP on Mars is roughly comparable to the power requirement for life support after the crew arrives. Thus, the mass, cost, and logistics of the power system is not attributable to ISPP. By contrast, the power requirements for lunar ISPP far exceed the power requirements for life support, and furthermore, the power dissipated in lunar ISPP is additive to power for life support, so the entire mass, cost, and logistics for lunar ISPP power is attributable to lunar ISPP, reducing the ROI. For Mars ISPP, recent studies concluded that use of solar power might be more feasible than previously thought. Compared to nuclear power, solar power might offer mass advantages. Nevertheless, a plan for use of multiple kilopower reactors appears less risky to us. In addition, recent research on Li-CO2 batteries shows promise, and CO2 is readily available on Mars. But this does not appear to be near term. Power on the Moon can be derived from nuclear reactors or solar. Current thinking for lunar ISPP seems to be that solar concentrators would be constructed on a crater ridge and beamed down to a receiver within the permanently shadowed regions of the crater where the concentrated solar flux would be partly converted to electric power. A simpler approach might be a kilopower fission reactor and a tether with a copper wire to the water processing unit. An alternative approach is to beam power down from a satellite array. All in all, the author comes to the conclusion that despite the ongoing mission to return to the Moon, NASA might be best off bringing propellants to the Moon from Earth, while pursuing far more feasible Mars ISPP at a moderate level.

Note
I bet you are probably just fine and are just a little self conscious because you respect the gravity of your work.
I do hear what you are saying about scrub pants tending toward overly shaped bottoms. I was in charge of buying scrubs for my group and I was like "no, we are not showing off our asses to each other in these figs yoga pants scrubs. You're wearing shapeless Cherokee work wear."
yea i dont think anyone noticed 😅 luckily no autopsies that day so i didnt have to change into scrubs (the classic thin ugly light blue scrubs), cuz then that would have been absolutely out of pocket
yea i feel like a prude but i cant get behind scrubs that are essentially fitted joggers or yoga pants :// other people can wear whatever they want but i feel weird about it personally. luckily 95% of the time i wear street clothes to work so my lack of scrub pants is not the end of the world
