You crave to be a mother, and it takes more than coupling to let it come true indeed, fertility consultation is what we are trying to emphasize! You may have been trying for a year. Nevertheless, a mental blockage holds you back or the thought that swings between yes or no. Before you sweep into routine exams and medical evaluation, you are most likely to fuel a fear of addressing your infertility issue or perhaps struggling to find the infertility signs.

Note
Hi mariacallous! Some of my friends have started spouting the 'abortion is a class issue because rich women always have access to abortion' BS, and I was wondering if you had any resources/articles etc that might be helpful in convincing them. Sorry to barge into your inbox!
The notion that rich women will be fine, regardless of what the law says, is probably comforting to some. But it is simply not true.
Yes, abortion bans will disproportionately affect poor women and women of color in a country that already has appallingly high maternal mortality rates, no federal paid family leave and little support for parents who struggle to provide for their children financially. As Rebecca Traister pointed out in New York magazine, this is nothing new: The Hyde Amendment and state restrictions have already made abortion effectively inaccessible to many women without means or mobility.
But we should not lose sight of the reality that the Supreme Court decision has created a crisis for all American women. Even the richest Americans — the one-percenters and the upper middle class — will not escape the effects.
Attenuating the rights of half of the population will have systemic effects akin to climate change. Just as no amount of investment in Mars-bound space colonization, air-conditioned bunkers and private firefighting services will save the rich from terrible outcomes if the planet becomes uninhabitable, the rich cannot avoid the effects of the overturning of Roe. Residents of blue states won’t be exempt. And men who think the ban won’t affect them are mistaken; it will affect women they know and love, and it will change the political economy in which they live and operate.
The persistent myth that the wealthy will be unaffected is predicated on the vague notion that they’ll be able to find and purchase abortion pills by mail, travel to places where abortion is legal or get abortions from local providers willing to break the law.
And sure, it’s easy to imagine a scenario in which a red state one-percenter has his daughter or wife airlifted to another state for an abortion — or, potentially, for in vitro fertilization, if it becomes illegal to terminate embryos. We are accustomed to different rules and privileges for the wealthy, and witness these injustices daily. People with more money and privilege conferred by race and class — people who have access to better lawyers — experience our justice system differently. They also get better health care and pay less in taxes as a share of income. We hold the rich to a lower, not higher, standard and tacitly accept that they will get away with cheating various systems.
But the wealthiest are in for some unpleasant surprises when it comes to abortion. The scenarios in which a woman needs an abortion include medical emergencies in which any delay in treatment can have severe, even fatal, consequences — and in those circumstances abortion pills obtained by mail won’t help.
One in 50 pregnancies in the United States is ectopic, for example, in which a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus. The embryo must be removed, and delaying that treatment can result in sepsis, internal bleeding and death. Placental abruptions must be addressed immediately to avoid extensive bleeding, renal failure and even, in some instances, death.
Any woman who finds herself in either of these scenarios is not going to be able to pack her bags and go for a long drive. Even for someone with the means, an airlift to a medical facility in another state may not be quick enough to save her. She will need to be treated locally and immediately. Some of the bans going into effect around the country include medical exceptions for these situations, but if there’s any ambiguity about what the law allows, the time it takes a medical professional to consult a lawyer may be the difference between life and death.
Some states are expected to try to ban interstate travel for abortions. Bans in Texas and Oklahoma leave room for that possibility. Planned Parenthood’s Montana branch has reportedly decided that it will no longer provide medication abortions for patients from certain states where bans are in effect or in the works, citing the “rapidly changing” legal landscape. It’s also clear that many Republicans view the Roe reversal as an inroad to a total federal ban. If they gain electoral victories in 2024, this is a very likely outcome, and in that case there will be no blue state abortion clinics to travel to. Even now, the lines and waiting times at abortion clinics in safe haven states are likely to get very long.
Many people also assume the wealthy can always find a local doctor willing to perform an abortion, even in a state where it has become illegal. This seems unlikely. While some providers did flout the law and provide women with abortions before Roe in 1973, the ubiquity of digital surveillance and other mechanisms for violating the privacy of women seeking abortions have made it far more difficult for them to do so privately and safely. Trigger laws are already forcing medical professionals to consult lawyers before they provide care, and laws that criminalize abortion leave health care workers with little incentive to violate them. When faced with the prospect of prosecution or losing a medical license, how many doctors will take this risk, even when money is offered? Meanwhile, anti-choice conservatives are already working to make it harder to obtain abortion pills.
Some believe abortion bans won’t affect them because they’ll never find themselves in need of an abortion. Conservatives might imagine the typical woman who needs one fits an archetype: poor, single, liberal, promiscuous, anti-family and irresponsible. But most women who get abortions are already mothers (60 percent). Nearly half of abortion seekers live below the poverty line, but a significant portion are not poor. (Women with higher incomes have more access to contraception, but that dynamic might change if the Supreme Court follows through on Justice Clarence Thomas’s suggestion to revisit earlier rulings, including the right to contraception.) Conservative families also include teenagers and young women whose privacy, autonomy and ability to seek medical care, regardless of whether their parents approve, will be severely compromised by abortion bans.
The reality is that women from every demographic need abortions. Well-off conservative women are not immune to contraception failures, gynecological emergencies, miscarriages, incest or rape. Many women find that despite their beliefs, carrying a pregnancy to term is just not something they can go through with, for a range of reasons. Pregnancy itself can be life-threatening for women with certain existing medical conditions, and even for women who don’t have those risks, it is life-altering. The kind of person who might need or want an abortion is, put simply, any person capable of getting pregnant.
Women will die because of this — disproportionately poor and middle-class women but not just poor and middle-class women. Rich women could just as easily suffer and die, too, even those who think that they would never need an abortion or that they would never be denied essential medical care in the United States of America in 2022.
There will be other effects: Roe is a privacy law, and there are implications for the ruling outside of the issue of abortion. Forced birth will take women out of the work force in an already tight labor market. Women could be treated like criminals for having miscarriages, which are incredibly common. And women who are pregnant when their partners don’t want them to be will be more at risk for domestic violence and homicide. Individual wealth won’t prevent these outcomes, either.
It is, of course, true that the wealthy are the least vulnerable in the new post-Roe world, and this is not a requiem for them on a tiny violin. But it is important for all parties to understand that all people are going to participate in this nightmare, whether they realize it now or not. The wealthy unfortunately have an outsize influence on politics, so how much the bans harm them, inconvenience them or enrage them will most likely affect the will of politicians to vote for and maintain abortion bans.
The overturning of Roe will affect all of us. And if you are lucky enough to be wealthy, your money probably won’t shield you.
The Persistent Myth That Restricting Abortion Rights Won’t Affect the Rich
the problem is that it's a class issue, but not only in the way they think, and the point is that all women are impacted by it, but obviously some way more than others

undercover - aaron hotchner
chapter 1
lying.
i like lying.
especially when it involves waking up next to aaron fucking hotchner.
we were undercover, playing as the stork killers next victims, jane and aaron hunter, a couple in need of a miracle, preferably one that came in the shape of a human baby. the killer, doctor james hader, who specialized in fertility, had been stalking us for the past three weeks after we visited his clinic, so it wasn’t really a surprise when i saw his white van parked across the street from our bedroom window. doctor hader was a very obvious stalker, which made me wonder if the two couples he had murdered before had caught on to the white van parked across the street for their houses.
i sigh, and get up to go make breakfast, just as a loving wife would do. yuck. so glad my bachelors in forensic science had led to being reduced to a stereotype.
the bed is warm and seems to be enticing me to lay back down as i pull the covers off my legs and stand. i turn to look down at aaron in the bed, he seems calm in his sleep, it makes me smile. he used to look like that awake. calm and kind, but years of stressful cases while juggling the politics that come with the bau had turned him into a very serious man. we started working together 5 years ago, when i became the first woman on the team and unlike the rest of my co-workers, he seemed to actually respect me for more than my looks. we quickly became close friends, but we never seemed to hangout outside of work. now here we were, stuck together in a two bedroom/two bathroom in the fucking suburbs. it wasn’t that this life didn’t appeal to me. i just didn’t love the idea of relying on a man to provide for me. it made me feel trapped, but this was only my life until the case closes, which seemed to never come.
i reached the kitchen and begin getting out eggs, bread and a tomato. while the bread toasts and the eggs cook i cut the tomato into slices and divide them into two plates. soon enough i have a beautiful breakfast plated and i set the plates down on the table. aaron walks in at that moment, in a white tee and plaid pyjama pants.
“thanks.” he mutters as he sits down. he’s not much of a talker in the morning.
“you’re welcome.”
we eat in silence. once he finishes, he takes my empty plate and begins washing the dishes while i shower and get dressed.
“he was here.” i say when i return.
aaron looks up from the plate he’s drying. “hader?”
“who else aaron?” i respond, grabbing the pan and a dish towel.
he rolls his eyes. “i must have missed him, he was gone when i woke up.”
“hmm.”
“what?” he asks, looking at puzzled.
“its just… well, he always leaves after i wake up.” i start. “it’s like he’s only interested in me. maybe he’s after the women but kills the men to get them out of the way.
”“maybe.” he says.
i look at him with a frustrated expression.
“what?” he asks while yawning.
i roll my eyes as i put the pan into the cupboard. “thanks for supporting my theory aaron.”
he chuckles. “oh cmon, janie,” that stupid nickname makes me blush slightly, “we don’t have proof he’s after just the women, he stalks them for weeks and kills them both.”
i sigh, “just a thought.”
he finishes the dishes. and turns his body to face me. “keep thinking, well figure it out.” he smiles at me.
“bring it up to the team?” i ask.
“jane…”
“oh cmon! think about it, he doesn’t follow you to work, he focuses on me when we go in for consultations, and he always leaves when i get up for the day.” he doesn’t seem convinced, we stare at each other for a moment, “please? do it for me, your lovely wife.” i tease.
he pauses staring at me intensely for a few seconds. “fine.”
i break into a smile, which he returns. “thank you aaron.”
he sighs and walks off to get ready for work.
aaron was the lucky one, he got to return to work everyday as the town where we were stationed was only 30 minutes from headquarters. i, on the other hand, got to play house. cooking and cleaning were basically all i got up to during the day. it was dull. but, occasionally, aaron would bring back reports for me to fill out regarding our operation, but other than that i spend my day doing nothing important.
i watch from the kitchen table as aaron grabs his coat and gets ready to leave.
he opens the door, “hey,” i walk over to him, “don't forget we have another consultation at 3.”
he smiles at me, “i’ll be home at 2 then.” theres a pause before he begins talking again, “have a good day jane.” he closes the door.
my day goes by normally, i clean the house, which takes under an hour because i do it everyday. then, i spend the rest of my day on the couch watching the news, desperate to feel like i’m in the field. when i look up from the tv, the clock on the oven reads 1:45. shit, there goes my day.
i decide to make a quick snack for aaron when he gets back. by the time i’m done, i hear the doorknob turn, speak of the devil.
aaron walks calmly through the door and takes off his coat. “hungry?” i ask
he looks at me, sitting on the counter calmly, as he takes off his coat. “very.”
we sit at the table eating the cheese and crackers i had prepared, talking about our days. mine, just as interesting as his. since we were undercover, he was not allowed to be in the field. This meant he was stuck at a desk all day, doing paperwork. exciting.
sooner than i’d like, we hop into his car and begin the 20 minute drive to the clinic.
doctor hader’s fertility clinic was in a small building on main street. aaron and i rode the elevator anxiously. every meeting with the doctor proved more and more useful but also nerve-racking. hader asked the awkward questions, the ones regarding aaron and i’s non existing sex life. i tended to freeze up once asked whereas aaron smoothly spoke of our fake life. it was odd how i feel when he speaks of those things. it’s like there’s a pit in my stomach… a hungry one.
we sit in the waiting room silently, waiting to be called on. i hear the door hinges creak and grab aaron’s hand, putting on the facade of a happy couple. doctor hader is a small, balding man. he avoids eye contact as he invites us in. his office is painted blue, with a couch that faces his large desk. overcompensating much. hader motions for us to sit down as he takes a seat at his desk.
“jane, aaron, wonderful to see you again.” he smiles, that creepy awful smile.
aaron and i smile back, “great to see you too, doctor hader.” aaron says.
“so, let's begin,” hader brings out our file, “you’ve been trying for some time now, yes?”
i blush, “yes, 6 months now.”
“interesting, you’re still trying now correct, with the meds i had prescribed, correct?” he asks.
aaron squeezes my hand to keep me focused, “yes.”
hader looks frustrated, “you’re certain?”
he knows were not having sex, he’s been watching us for weeks.
aaron and i look at each other, “yes.” he says.
the consultation goes on for what feels like forever. when we finally get to leave, it’s not soon enough. i could feel hader’s eyes on me as we head out. i grip onto aaron’s arm.
we ride silently for about half the trip back until i finally speak up. “he knows.”
“what?” aaron says, not looking up from the road.
“he knows were not… you know…” i say.
aaron doesn’t speak for a while.
“aaron.”
he looks at me as we stop for a red light. “i think you know what this means, janie.”
“which is?”
“we have to put on a show for him.”
i freeze, the gears in my head turning slowly as i figure out what he means.
we have to have “sex”.

Cregan Stark one-shot ideas?
He had 5-7 minutes of screen time, and it was enough to remind me where my allegiances lie. Team Black, Team Green...drama on both sides. Just give me more Cregan and more Northern scenes, that's all I ask.
Having said that, if anyone gets inspiration from these ideas, feel free to write them out, just tag me! Maybe, I'll actually try to do it myself, but for now let them just sit on my profile.
Anyhow:
Cregan Stark x reader where she is a Northener but lives somewhere alone in the woods. Her home is guarded by wild animals, she has bears with which she is connected, and is what you would consider a witch. Cregan knows of her considering that he consults with her when his party goes out to hunt in order not to kill any animals whom she protects. She also comes to help when it is needed to heal some of his soldiers. And let's say that Cregan gets injured at one point and stumbles somewhere near her cabin. She finds him, and brings him in, sewing the wounds and stopping the infection from spreading. During that time, Cregan and her become closer, and he takes a liking to her, noting how she pays attention to each wound (I mean it's always a fluffy scene when one person take care of a wounded future love interest). He also sees how she cares for her animal companions, and yet she is still firm with him, not allowing any unnecessary movements until he heals. Of course the Warden of The North becomes a wee bit smitten in the end. How that develops is up to you.
2. The Northerners are preparing a feast for the Old Gods and the ending of the Winter. Large bonefires are being built, and the Common Folk are all gathering to celebrate. It is a wild affair - the Northerners are known to be wild, but during these festivities there is a sort of primal feeling to it all. People are dancing, it is as if some of them are in a trance at that very moment. It is also a festivity of fertility when young men and women jump over the fires, and come together while the Moon keeps watch over them. Cregan also attends the festivity, happy to be among his people. As he watches them dancing, he sees one person standing out. She jumps over the fire, without expecting to find a partner afterwards. She dances with the others, spinning around, happy to celebrate their Gods. I remember a line "head thrown back, throat to the stars, 'more like deer than human being.' To be absolutely free! [...] To sing, to scream, to dance barefoot in the woods in the dead of night, with no more awareness of mortality than an animal!" So that is how Cregan would see her at that moment. And of course that he inhales sharply when he sees her like that, but he looses her in the crowd of people afterwards. The girl stays in his mind, yet he believes he won't see her anymore, considering he has his own duties to fulfill. So imagine the surprise on his face, when the girl comes into the castle one day to ask of him that he controls the amount of animals his men are hunting. Winter will come again, but there needs to be some balance in nature. He agrees, yet takes the chance to ask her to join them in the hunts in order to consult him on the areas which are best to hunt and where they can gather enough food for their people (no other reason). She agrees, and from then on...it's up to you.
Tumblr media
3. I usually imagine a Northern character (and it can be a reader or OC). But it can also be a daughter of Rhaenyra and Daemon. She was trained in fighting by her father and she has inherited her father's spirit. Cregan arrives to Dragonstone one day in order to discuss certain matters with the Queen. He is already good friends with Jace, so one day Jace shows him around the castle. They stumble upon the girl as she is training on the beach. She does not dance around, her movements are sharp and Cregan can see she would be a deadly opponent. Jace, the big brother that he is teases her, and she returns back just as well. I'm not sure where to go after this, but Cregan and the reader are introduced to one another, and the reader asks Cregan if he could teach her some of the Northern fighting strategies. When they finally do duel, neither holds back - who wins is up to you, but as with every fight scene they do get quite close to one another (heavy breathing while looking at one another of course) a few times. At the end I do imagine them ending up in a shack similar to where Rhaenyra and Daemon were in that scene. It can be after another fight, only that time it becomes something more. Cregan has to go back North, and the girl has her own duty in the war to come, but they do not forget one another.
4. Back to the North and Pagan festivities...if you have watched The Vikings, do you remember this scene?
Tumblr media
And if Cregan were to witness it...I do not think he would be shocked, but perhaps if he were in a sort of awe? Or that he felt respect for the woman in front of him and the whole fertility ritual taking place.
I have some more ideas, which I'll type out at some point.

We must combine breeding and boning. For the search results!
Right after Astarion ascends Tav realizes her mistake. The Gur confronts them outside but after some hushed consultation amongst the women about distracting men, herbs, tea, and lots and lots of questionable recipes for fertility, Tav drags Astarion away from a confrontation.
When Astarion offers to turn Tav she refuses and offers something else: making babies. Astarion is so shocked he’s almost in a daze while they confront the brain. Then after victory Tav drags Astarion away for some…family planning time. Astarion never gets to be a tyrant.
And for the Tumblr search results: BONING. BREEDING. ASTARION!
....I have a literal HC that Tav breaks up with Astarion post ascension. He finds her weeks later to try and convince her again, when she hits him with "under two conditions."
The two conditions are children 🫠

The legal and health effects of Dobbs
Two years ago, the reactionary majority on the Supreme Court did something that no other cohort of justices had done in the history of our nation: It extinguished an existing constitutional right. In a single decision, it denied women equal protection under the Constitution and demoted them to a subservient status with fewer rights than a fertilized ovum.
It is difficult to measure health effects for large populations in a short period of time. Still, the emerging evidence is that Dobbs is increasing the number of risky and dangerous pregnancies, resulting in increased infant and maternal mortality. Predictably, the most extreme effects are felt by women of color and women who live near or below the poverty line.
A study published in Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) examined the health effects of Texas’ 2021 ban on abortion. See JAMA Pediatrics, Infant Deaths After Texas’ 2021 Ban on Abortion in Early Pregnancy.
The finding of the JAMA investigation was that “recorded infant deaths in Texas and 28 comparison states found that the Texas abortion ban was associated with unexpected increases in infant and neonatal mortality in 2022.” Moreover, the results show that Texas experienced a “12.9% increase [in infant mortality], whereas the rest of the US experienced a comparatively lower 1.8% increase.”
The state abortion bans post-Dobbs are also affecting maternal health. Again, the relatively short time since Dobbs makes it difficult to conduct studies, but statistical modeling predicts a significant increase in maternal mortality—with women of color and women living near or below the poverty line showing the greatest risk. See Nicole Narea’s excellent analysis in Vox, What two years without Roe looks like, in 8 charts.
I recommend Narea’s entire article to your attention. The article covers the legal and medical changes in abortion healthcare since Dobbs. The article also discusses efforts to create statistical models predicting maternal mortality in the absence of access to abortions:
So for now, the best information is based on statistical modeling. Researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder projected based on 2020 data on maternal outcomes that, if no abortions were performed nationally, there would be an overall 24 percent increase in maternal deaths after a year. Black mothers would see the biggest increase in mortality.
Finally, OBGYNs have said that their ability to provide reproductive care that meets the medical standard of care has been impacted:
In states where abortion is banned or restricted, for example, six in 10 OBGYNs say their decision-making autonomy has become worse since the Dobbs ruling.
The article also discusses the political dimensions of the post-Dobbs landscape. It repeats a common talking point promoted by (mostly) male political consultants who claim that abortion will not be a decisive factor in 2024. They are wrong—largely because they ignore actual results in 2022 and special elections post-Dobbs and instead rely on flawed polling.
For example, as reported in the Vox article, the survey question that prompts the dismissive attitude toward abortion is this: “What is the most important issue facing the country?” The answers are (in order of frequency of response), “Government,” Immigration,” Inflation,” and “Abortion.”
With all due respect (which is almost none), the question is so poorly phrased as to be meaningless—at least to the extent that it supposedly tests attitudes toward the importance of abortion. It asks about the most important issue “facing the country.” A sensible and reasonable answer to our national crisis is “government”—which encompasses the rule of law, democracy, the Supreme Court, voter suppression, and individual liberty, including reproductive rights. Saying that “government” is the most important issue facing the country does nothing to diminish the importance of reproductive liberty to the women and men affected by Dobbs.
Moreover, “Immigration” is a code word for “I am a MAGA voter.” If the designers of the survey couldn’t figure that out, they should find a new line of work.
And, of course, everyone is concerned about inflation—which is a surrogate for “I am not one of the top 2% that lives on investment returns.” In other words, it is everyone who works for a living saying that their daily economic struggle is the top issue facing America—which says nothing about the passion and anger that surrounds restrictions on reproductive liberty.
I am not a pollster, but I have met people, including women. And anyone who believes that abortion will not be a decisive factor in the 2024 election needs to look up from the spreadsheets and social media to engage with the tens of millions of women and men who are of childbearing age. They care deeply about reproductive liberty and are going to vote on that issue up and down the ballot. Don’t let any political consultant tell you otherwise!
Supreme Court grants review of state bans on gender affirming care
The Supreme Court granted review of Tennessee’s ban on gender affirming care. The grant of review is an ominous sign, as explained by Erin Reed in their Substack, Erin in the Morning, Supreme Court Takes Up Trans Care Ban In Tennessee, With Potentially Huge Impacts.
(Erin In The Morning is the leading source on Substack for news regarding legal developments regarding transgender rights. If you or someone you know is interested in or affected by such developments, I highly recommend the newsletter.)
Per Erin Reed,
On Monday morning, the Supreme Court announced it would take up whether gender-affirming care bans for transgender youth violate equal protection rights under the U.S. Constitution. The case under consideration involves the gender-affirming care ban in Tennessee, where the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals allowed the ban to take effect. The court ruled that transgender people do not have equal protection rights under the Constitution, citing the Dobbs decision overturning abortion and Geduldig v. Aiello, a ruling on pregnancy discrimination that has gained new traction in conservative courts targeting transgender individuals.
It cannot be said often enough: Transgender people are people. Period. They are entitled to the full protection of the Constitution and the laws of the US. But it appears that the Supreme Court is intent on repeating their travesty in Dobbs—creating a second-class citizenship status based on gender identification.
First Roe v. Wade, next transgender rights, then LGBTQ+ rights (including same-sex marriage), and then contraception. The reactionary majority is coming for it all. They are telling us as loudly and clearly as they can.
The Supreme Court is on the ballot in 2024—we must win both chambers of Congress and the presidency so we can expand the Court and release the death grip of the reactionary majority on the Constitution!

Unraveling the Enigma: Exploring the Causes of Infertility in Men and Women
Tumblr media
Infertility, a condition that affects millions of couples worldwide, can be a source of immense emotional distress and frustration. While there are numerous factors that can contribute to infertility, understanding its underlying causes is essential for effective diagnosis and treatment. In this article, we delve into the multifaceted causes of infertility in both men and women, shedding light on the complex interplay of biological, environmental, and lifestyle factors.
Causes of Infertility in Women
Ovulation Disorders: Irregular or absent ovulation can hinder conception. Conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid disorders, and premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) can disrupt the ovulation process.
Fallopian Tube Damage: Blockages or damage to the fallopian tubes can prevent the egg from reaching the uterus for fertilization. Previous pelvic infections, endometriosis, or surgery may contribute to fallopian tube issues.
Uterine Abnormalities: Structural abnormalities in the uterus, such as fibroids or polyps, can interfere with embryo implantation and development, leading to infertility.
Age-related Factors: As women age, the quantity and quality of their eggs decline, making conception more challenging. Advanced maternal age is a significant risk factor for infertility.
Causes of Infertility in Men
Low Sperm Count or Quality: Issues with sperm production, motility, or morphology can impair fertility. Factors such as hormonal imbalances, genetic conditions, and lifestyle choices (e.g., smoking, excessive alcohol consumption) can affect sperm health.
Varicocele: A varicocele, an enlargement of the veins within the scrotum, can lead to decreased sperm production and quality. It is a common reversible cause of male infertility.
Testicular Factors: Conditions such as undescended testicles, testicular trauma, or infections can impact sperm production and function, contributing to infertility.
Ejaculatory Disorders: Disorders affecting the ejaculation process, such as retrograde ejaculation or erectile dysfunction, can hinder the delivery of sperm during intercourse.
Seeking Help from a Male Fertility Doctor
For couples struggling with infertility, consulting a male fertility doctor, also known as a reproductive urologist or andrologist, can provide valuable insights and guidance. These specialists are trained to evaluate and treat male infertility issues, offering diagnostic tests, fertility evaluations, and personalized treatment plans to address underlying causes and improve reproductive outcomes.
Conclusion
Infertility can stem from a myriad of factors affecting both men and women. By understanding the potential causes of infertility and seeking specialized care from a male fertility doctor specialist, couples can embark on a journey towards achieving their dream of parenthood. With advancements in reproductive medicine and personalized treatment approaches, there is hope for overcoming infertility challenges and building a family.

Signs of Infertility
What exactly is infertility?
The problems with either conceiving a child, or with carrying out the pregnancy to its eventual fruitful end, fall under the definition of infertility. Infertility is the incapability of an individual to become pregnant, in case of females, or the incapability to induce pregnancy, in case of the males. The inability of an individual to carry out a pregnancy to its full term is also dubbed infertility. How does one recognize infertility? What are the signs of infertility?
Tumblr media
Signs of infertility are not always evident. Most people go through life without knowing there is a problem with their reproductive systems, attributing failed pregnancies to providence. In fact, miscarriages are the most common indicator of infertility. Signs of infertility in women:
In women, the signs of infertility are more readily recognized as compared to men. Endometriosis causes the lining of the uterus to grow outside the uterus.
Bacterial infections may begin around the uterus and spread to other reproductive organs, resulting in infertility. Fibroids in the uterus are indicative of infertility. Tumors in the cervix often cause stenosis, or narrowing of the cervix, which is a common indicator of infertility.
Ovulating before the tenth day and after the twentieth day of one's monthly cycle, pre-menstrual spotting, menopausal symptoms, etc. are indicative of luteal phase defect, and thus in turn are signs too.
Irregular menstrual cycles are the most common indication in females that they might have some problems with fertility. However, an irregular menstrual cycle is not conclusive in itself, but it is definitely one of the signs of infertility.
Issues regarding body weight are often indicators of being infertile. For a woman, being too thin, or anorexic, will definitely hinder pregnancy, since the body does not have the proper nutritional requirements, or the required strength.
Alternatively, obesity can also be a sign. Obesity is accompanied by hormonal imbalance, which affects the reproductive system and pregnancy. Signs of Infertility in Men:
Like females, in males too, either obesity, or anorexia, is an indication that he is infertile. Apart from these, anatomical defects may also be signs of infertility. Undescended testicles, or damage to scrotum and the gonads, are possible indicators too. Wearing tight undergarments, or exposing the testicles to heat, may render the person unable to produce the required number of sperms, or unable to produce sperms altogether, resulting in infertility.
Tumblr media
Determining the signs of infertility:
There are many medical procedures for detecting the signs that help to determine whether an individual is infertile or not. Doctors usually prescribe one or more of the following medical tests:
. Hysterosalpingography. A dye injected into the vagina is monitored to check for blockage in the fallopian tubes or uterus.
. Laparoscopy. If disease and other physical problems are present in the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or in the uterus, infertility is suggested. This may be detected through laparoscopy.
Infertility is a problem which can be solved if it is addressed in the holistic way, which is, using a multifaceted method of healing. Getting regular health checkups, taking supplements to combat existing problem, exercising and stress reduction techniques are only part of the holistic solution to infertility. The holistic approach is not only a surefire way to increase your chances of conception it also guarantees a safe and healthy pregnancy.

TWOIAF/Fire & Blood: Maegor, Ceryse, and Alys
Warning, Spoilers Ahead…
Thanks to everyone but the king, Aenys managed to survive the multiple rebellions that broke out in the first months of his reign. He has now appointed Maegor, his younger brother, as the Hand of the King.
The brothers were able to smoothly rule together from 37 to 39 AC. Then the problems arose.
Queen Alyssa gave birth to Vaella, a girl who died shortly afterward.  Maegor decided this would be the perfect time to take a second wife. Maegor arrived at Dragonstone and wed Alys Harroway, the daughter of the new Lord of Harrenhal. The wedding was a Valyrian rite, performed by the Dowager Queen Visenya. Maegor announced his second marriage while proclaiming Lady Ceryse Hightower (his first wife) to be barren.
What was it about Alys that caught Maegor’s eye? Exceptional beauty? Wit? Great birthing hips? Was he close to the Harroway family? She was there when he decided to take a second wife?
Aenys wasn’t happy as the wedding took place without his “leave, knowledge, or presence”. I am unsure why Aenys expected anyone to consult him before making a decision. Yes, Aenys is king but one who has no respect – from anyone. And Maegor doesn’t seem the type to request permission before he makes a move.
Aenys had a fit, Lord Manfred Hightower (father of Ceryse) had a fit. The High Septon in Oldtown had a fit. Many “pious” lords in the realm protested. Maegor remained defiant – his father married multiple women, so why can’t he? He believed the strictures of the Faith might “rule lesser men but not the blood of the dragon”. I wonder if this is where Jaehaerys received his inspiration for his later proclamation? You would think the Faith would be happy it didn’t involve incest.
The High Septon and the lords are rather hypocritical. They all kept their mouths shut about polygamous marriages while Aegon was king. A former High Septon even crowned Aegon! Multiple lords were throwing their daughters at Aegon throughout his reign – despite the presence of his wives.
I understand Manfred Hightower’s protest – multiple wives threaten his daughter’s position and if another wife gives birth to a child – well it won’t be his bloodline intermixing with the Targaryens. The Faith and the rest of the lords need to be told to “shut your mouth and know your role”. (To quote the Rock). They had a chance to protest when Aegon established his regime – it is a case of “too little, too late” to make stipulations on Targaryen marriages (at least while they still have dragons to back their actions).
We know the reason all these lords have protests – Aenys is a weak king and they want to push him around. As well as cause division between the two brothers. The game of thrones isn’t always played on the battlefield. Remove Maegor and Visenya from the equation and you’re left with a Targaryen who won’t use his dragon in battle. Easy pickings.
Aenys decided to (finally!) take a stand: put Alys Harroway aside or endure five years of exile. Maegor chose option 2 and departed for Pentos with Alys, Balerion, and Blackfyre. Aenys requested that Maegor leave Blackfyre but was told “no”. Can you imagine the poor citizens of Pentos when Maegor arrives on Balerion? I guarantee Maegor and Alys didn’t have to pay for a thing their entire stay. Pentos would be grateful that Maegor didn’t go the route of “Conquest, part 2: the Essos edition”.
Aenys made Septon Murmison the Hand of the King. He also had Septon Murmison lay hands on Ceryse’s belly every night to make her fertile. Lady Ceryse tired of this effort and left King’s Landing to rejoin her family in Oldtown.
Poor Ceryse – this entire situation was humiliating for her. Proclaimed publicly as barren, husband takes a 2nd wife (was she even told before Maegor announced it publicly?), abandoned, and forced to have a strange man paw at her belly in an effort to make her fertile. How were Aenys and Murmison planning to test Ceryse’s fertility after these laying of hands rituals? Have Maegor sleep with her after five years of exile? When she would be forty-two years old? Was she supposed to test out her new-found fertility on a man and then “moon tea” the baby out of existence? Simply accept the Septon’s insistence she was now fertile. Was Maegor faithful to Ceryse throughout his marriage? He seems insistent Ceryse is the problem but if he was straying from the marital bed – shouldn’t he be wondering why there aren’t any dragonseeds running around?
Exiling Maegor didn’t bring Aenys peace. The High Septon continued to bluster about Targaryens, and now the lords wondered how Aenys could govern the realm when he couldn’t even control his brother.
In short, Aenys played into his opponents’ hands and lost his strongest supporters. Maegor is in Pentos, and I doubt Visenya has much patience left for Aenys’ weakness.
Up next, Aenys’ eldest children wed.

The Best Approach to Male Infertility Treatment Depends on the Cause
Infertility is the term which is commonly used to describe the inability to conceive a child. If you and your partner have been trying to get pregnant for a period of one year or longer then you may wish to consult your doctor and ask about fertility assessment. Male infertility accounts for around forty percent of the 2.6 million couples who have tried without success to conceive a child here in the United States. Unfortunately around half of these men will never be able to father children. However, the rest of these men may be able to become fathers with the help of male infertility treatment.
 Different Causes
A doctor cannot decide on the right course of male infertility treatment until the cause of the problem has been determined. Male infertility can be caused by a variety of factors such as disease, sexual dysfunction, hormonal imbalances, injury, infection, poor lifestyle choices and medical treatments such as chemotherapy.
Before deciding on the appropriate male infertility treatment the doctor will check the medical history of the patient to look for underlying causes. The patient will also be given a thorough medical examination and his semen will be analysed in order to establish the number and quality of his sperm cells. Best Urologist in Jaipur
 Various Options
One the doctor knows what is causing the problem then a course of action can be chosen. In some cases natural infertility treatment is the best option. For example, the patient may simply need to stop smoking or take certain supplements to correct a deficiency. Living an unhealthy lifestyle and eating the wrong foods can seriously impair the fertility of both men and women. Kidney Stone Surgery in Jaipur
In other cases male infertility treatment may be as simple as taking a certain medication. If the problem is one of sexual dysfunction the doctor may prescribe sexual enhancement drugs and recommend a course of counselling. If the patient has a low testosterone level then the problem can be rectified with injections or oral pills that contain this hormone. In the event that that the infertility problem is due to an infection, the treatment might come in the form of a course of antibiotics.
When the cause of the problem is serious, male infertility treatment becomes more complicated. If the patient has a low sperm count or an obstruction, male infertility treatment may comprise of sperm retrieval. With this process an opening is made into the scrotum and sperm cells are collected from the epididymis, which is the part of the male reproductive system in which spermatozoa mature.
Sperm washing is another male infertility treatment. This practice involves the separation and concentration of the patient's strongest and most vigorous sperm in order to inseminate it into the female's uterus. During sperm washing prostaglandins and white blood cells are also removed from the semen to boost the probability of conception.

Fertility Centre Hamilton: Identifying Signs of Infertility Symptoms, Causes, and First Steps
Infertility, defined as the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected intercourse (or six months if the woman is over 35), poses significant challenges for many couples aiming to start a family. Understanding the indicators and underlying causes of infertility is crucial for those beginning to question their reproductive health or those who have faced prolonged difficulties in conceiving. For residents in the Hamilton area, a fertility centre Hamilton can offer specialized guidance and support in addressing these concerns.
Symptoms of Infertility
The most apparent symptom of infertility is the inability to conceive. However, other less obvious signs might suggest underlying fertility issues. In women, irregular or absent menstrual cycles may indicate ovulatory disorders, while men may experience changes in sexual functions, such as difficulties with ejaculation or reduced seminal volume. Both sexes might also notice alterations in hair growth, libido, or weight fluctuations, which can be indicative of hormonal imbalances or other health issues impacting fertility.
Causes of Infertility in Women
Infertility in women can arise from various conditions. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is one prevalent cause, marked by irregular menstrual cycles, excessive hair growth, and obesity. Endometriosis is another significant condition where tissue resembling the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, potentially leading to pain and infertility. Furthermore, age is a critical factor; as women age, both the quantity and quality of their eggs typically diminish, complicating conception efforts.
Causes of Infertility in Men
Similarly, multiple factors can lead to infertility in men. Poor sperm production, which can be influenced by genetic conditions, health issues such as diabetes, or infections like chlamydia, is a common problem. Obstructive issues, where sperm is physically blocked from being ejaculated, can occur due to injuries or surgeries. Lifestyle influences, including tobacco and excessive alcohol consumption or steroid use, also play a role in diminishing sperm quality and production.
Diagnosing Infertility
Early diagnosis is pivotal in managing infertility effectively. For women, diagnostic steps might include hormonal blood tests and pelvic ultrasounds to assess the health of the ovaries and uterus. Men may undergo semen analysis, which evaluates the quantity and motility of sperm. These diagnostic tools are essential for pinpointing specific fertility issues and formulating an appropriate treatment strategy.
Treatment Options
The treatment for infertility depends largely on the identified causes. Therapeutic options may range from pharmacological interventions to stimulate ovulation to surgical procedures for removing physical impediments or scarring. Assisted reproductive technologies, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), offer additional possibilities for couples. Moreover, adopting healthier lifestyle practices can enhance fertility outcomes significantly.
First Steps Towards Resolution
Embarking on the path to resolve infertility issues can be daunting. It is advisable to start by consulting a healthcare provider specializing in reproductive health. For those in or near Hamilton, seeking out a fertility centre Hamilton can provide access to specialized assessments and tailored treatment options.
Conclusion
Early recognition of infertility symptoms and an understanding of their potential causes are vital for effectively navigating the path to parenthood. Whether through lifestyle adjustments or seeking advanced medical treatments at a fertility centre Hamilton, proactive steps are essential. It’s important to remember that support is available, and professional guidance can significantly aid in overcoming the challenges of infertility.

Understanding Infertility and Treatment Options
Tumblr media
Infertility is a common yet distressing issue that affects many couples around the world. It is defined as the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected intercourse for women under the age of 35, or after six months for women over 35. There are various causes of infertility, including hormonal imbalances, ovulation disorders, fallopian tube blockages, and sperm issues. However, the good news is that there are effective treatments available to help individuals overcome infertility and achieve their dream of starting a family.
One common treatment for infertility is medications that help regulate ovulation and improve egg quality. For women with ovulation disorders, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), medications like Clomid or Femara may be prescribed to stimulate ovulation. These medications work by helping the ovaries produce and release eggs, increasing the chances of conception. Another medication commonly used in infertility treatment is Gonadotropins, which are hormone injections that stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs.
In addition to medication, assisted reproductive technologies (ART) have revolutionized infertility treatment. In vitro fertilization (IVF) is one of the most well-known ART procedures, where eggs and sperm are combined in a laboratory dish to create embryos, which are then transferred to the uterus. IVF can be particularly beneficial for couples with severe male factor infertility, tubal issues, or unexplained infertility. Other ART procedures, such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT), may also be recommended based on the specific infertility diagnosis.
Furthermore, surgery may be an option for individuals with structural issues that affect fertility, such as uterine fibroids, endometriosis, or blocked fallopian tubes 大阪市西区 不妊治療. Laparoscopic surgery can be used to remove scar tissue, repair or unblock the fallopian tubes, or remove abnormal growths in the uterus. For men with infertility due to blockages in the reproductive tract, surgical procedures like vasectomy reversal or sperm retrieval may be performed to retrieve sperm for use in ART procedures.
It is important to note that infertility treatment is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and the best treatment plan will vary depending on the underlying cause of infertility. Consulting with a fertility specialist is essential to determine the most effective treatment options based on individual circumstances. With advancements in reproductive medicine and technology, the chances of achieving a successful pregnancy through infertility treatment have never been higher.
In conclusion, infertility can be a challenging and emotional journey for individuals and couples, but there are effective treatment options available to help overcome this obstacle. From medications that regulate ovulation to ART procedures like IVF, there are various ways to address infertility and increase the likelihood of conception. By working closely with fertility specialists and exploring different treatment options, individuals can improve their chances of starting a family and fulfilling their dream of parenthood.

Nurturing Your Fertility: The Essential Role of a Fertility Dietician 🌿
When embarking on the journey to parenthood, many couples find themselves focused on various aspects of health—medical treatments, emotional well-being, and lifestyle choices. One critical, often overlooked component is nutrition. A fertility dietician can play a pivotal role in optimizing your diet to support reproductive health, enhancing your chances of conception, and overall well-being.
Tumblr media
Understanding the Role of a Fertility Dietician
A fertility dietician specializes in creating personalized nutrition plans tailored to the unique needs of individuals and couples trying to conceive. They take a holistic approach, looking at your entire lifestyle—diet, exercise, emotional health, and even sleep patterns—to develop strategies that support reproductive health.
The Importance of Nutrition in Fertility
Nutrition profoundly influences reproductive health. Scientific research indicates that certain dietary choices can improve fertility rates in both men and women. Here are some essential components of a fertility-focused diet:
Healthy Fats: Incorporating sources of omega-3 fatty acids, such as fatty fish, nuts, and seeds, can help regulate hormones and improve egg quality. 🐟
Whole Grains: Foods like quinoa, brown rice, and whole grain bread are rich in fiber and can help manage insulin levels, which is crucial for hormonal balance. 🌾
Fruits and Vegetables: A variety of colorful produce provides antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that combat oxidative stress and support reproductive health. 🥗
Lean Proteins: Including sources like chicken, turkey, beans, and lentils can enhance overall health and hormonal function. 🍗
Personalized Nutritional Guidance
Every individual's body responds differently to dietary changes. This is where the expertise of a fertility dietician becomes invaluable. They will assess your current dietary habits, lifestyle, and medical history to create a tailored plan that addresses your specific needs.
Tumblr media
Initial Assessment
The journey typically begins with an in-depth consultation where your dietician will:
Review Your Medical History: Understanding any underlying health issues, such as PCOS, endometriosis, or thyroid disorders, is crucial for creating an effective nutrition plan.
Analyze Your Current Diet: Keeping a food diary can help identify patterns, deficiencies, or unhealthy habits that may be impacting your fertility.
Set Goals Together: Whether your aim is to conceive naturally or support medical treatments, your dietician will work with you to establish achievable objectives.
Nutritional Planning
Based on the initial assessment, your fertility dietician will develop a customized meal plan that focuses on nutrient-dense foods known to support fertility. This plan may include:
Meal Ideas: Simple and delicious recipes that are easy to prepare, ensuring you enjoy the process of nourishing your body.
Grocery Lists: Suggestions for nutrient-rich foods to fill your pantry and fridge, making healthy eating convenient and enjoyable.
Supplements: Recommendations for vitamins and minerals, if necessary, to fill any gaps in your diet.
The Mind-Body Connection
A successful fertility journey extends beyond just what you eat. Emotional well-being is intricately linked to physical health, and stress can significantly impact fertility. A fertility dietician can offer strategies to manage stress effectively, such as:
Mindfulness Practices: Incorporating meditation or yoga into your routine can help reduce stress and improve emotional balance. 🧘‍♀️
Balanced Lifestyle Choices: Encouraging adequate sleep, regular physical activity, and social support are essential components of a holistic approach to fertility.
Tumblr media
Supporting Male Fertility
It’s essential to remember that fertility is a shared responsibility. While much attention is given to women's health, male fertility is equally important. A fertility dietician can provide tailored advice for men, focusing on nutrients that enhance sperm quality and overall reproductive health.
Key Nutrients for Men
Zinc: Essential for sperm production and hormone regulation. Sources include meat, shellfish, and legumes. 🦪
Vitamin C: An antioxidant that can improve sperm quality. Found in citrus fruits, berries, and bell peppers.
Folic Acid: Important for DNA synthesis and sperm development. Dark leafy greens and fortified cereals are excellent sources. 🥬
The Science Behind Dietary Choices
At The Natural Balance, our approach is grounded in scientific evidence. Research has consistently shown that a well-rounded, nutrient-rich diet can improve fertility outcomes. For example, studies indicate that women who follow a Mediterranean diet, characterized by whole foods, healthy fats, and ample fruits and vegetables, experience higher fertility rates.
Additionally, understanding how insulin resistance affects hormonal balance is vital. High sugar and processed food consumption can lead to insulin spikes, negatively impacting ovulation and hormone production. A fertility dietician can help mitigate these effects through dietary adjustments.
Ongoing Support and Adaptation
The path to conception can be a rollercoaster of emotions and challenges. Working with a fertility dietician means you’ll have ongoing support throughout your journey. Regular follow-ups allow for adjustments to your nutrition plan based on progress and feedback, ensuring you remain on track and motivated.
Empowering Your Fertility Journey
Investing in your nutritional health is a proactive step towards enhancing your fertility. By working with a fertility dietician, you empower yourself with the knowledge and tools needed to make informed choices that support your reproductive goals.
