UNDERWEAR . I know I usually bare my soul here but this is actually something I’ve been thinking about for a while. . Shaving Your 🐱 Tips

•run a bath and sit in it for about 15 minutes before shaving. This will soften the hair follicles and open the pores.

•if needed, trim the hairs first with a scissors or an electric razor. This will make it easier to get a close shave and prevent ingrown hairs.

•when picking your razor, pick a 5 blade one. I use the men’s Gillette fusion 5. It gives me such a close shave, with no cuts!

•do not use conditioner, shaving cream/gel or don’t dry shave. Conditioner and shaving products can throw of your pH balance. Instead, use olive oil. It’s natural and it will give you a really close shave with no stubble.

•when shaving, you need to stretch the skin and shave against the grain. If you don’t stretch the skin, you’ll miss some hair, and it can cause bumps and ingrown hair.

•when you’re finished shaving, wash the olive oil off with warm water, then wash your 🐱 like normal.

•when you get out of the bath/shower, pat dry. Don’t rub dry or it will irritate the skin. If you want, you can rub a bit of olive oil after drying to moisturize the area.

•wear loose clothing after you shave. It will let your 🐱 breathe!

Went to my gynecologist on Tuesday to get some left over granulation tissue cauterized with silver nitrate. Because of EDS, my body was slower to heal, and there was still a tiny bit that needed help. As long as this heals up, I should be good to finally just go to yearly appointments! I was super surprised at my appointment, they put me in an accessible exam room! The exam table was low to the ground, and my doctor could adjust it as she needed too. And there was lots of room for mobility aids. Whenever I make appointments there, I'm going to request that room. It was so much easier and safer for me to get on that low table versus the taller ones they have.
