a lion purring?

The sun was high in the sky, casting a warm, golden glow over the botanical garden. The tranquil setting was perfect for an afternoon nap, and Yuu had found herself a comfortable spot beneath a large tree. Leona, of course, had claimed the best position—resting his head in her lap, his arms crossed lazily over his chest.

The soft rustle of leaves and the faint buzz of distant insects created a serene atmosphere. Yuu leaned back against the tree, her fingers idly playing with Leona’s hair. She wasn’t sure how this arrangement had come about—one moment they’d been talking, and the next, he had flopped down with a grumbled, “You make a decent pillow, herbivore.”

She didn’t mind. Despite his sharp tongue and rough demeanor, Leona’s presence was oddly comforting. Her fingers trailed gently to the base of his ears, scratching lightly. She wasn’t even thinking about it; it was just something to do while she relaxed.

Leona shifted slightly, a low rumble emanating from his chest. Yuu froze, her fingers pausing mid-scratch. Was he… purring?

The sound grew louder, a rhythmic vibration that was unmistakable. Yuu bit her lip to keep from laughing.

“Leona,” she said softly, trying to keep her voice steady, “are you purring?”

His eyes snapped open, sharp green meeting her amused gaze. For a moment, he looked genuinely startled, his tail flicking in agitation. The purring abruptly stopped.

“No,” he said flatly, his tone defensive.

Yuu’s lips twitched, and she couldn’t help the grin that spread across her face. “You were totally purring.”

“Was not,” he grumbled, closing his eyes again as if to dismiss the entire conversation.

“Leona, it’s okay,” Yuu said, her fingers resuming their gentle movements behind his ears. “It was cute.”

“I’m not cute,” he muttered, though his voice lacked its usual bite. Despite his protest, the purring started again, softer this time, as if he were trying to suppress it.

Yuu chuckled, her hand moving to scratch along his jawline. “Whatever you say, King of Beasts. Just don’t blame me if this gets out.”

His tail flicked again, brushing against her leg. “You say a word to anyone, herbivore, and you’ll regret it.”

“Your secret’s safe with me,” she promised, her smile softening.

Leona huffed, the purring continuing despite his best efforts to hide it. Yuu leaned back against the tree, her own eyes growing heavy. As the warm sunlight filtered through the leaves, the two of them drifted off again, the gentle rumble of Leona’s contentment lulling them both into peaceful sleep.

Okay, starters, this costume is a WiP at the moment, I don't have everything on in this video, I only wanted to put on the newer gear I bought recently and see the result. And I can honestly say, I'm not disappointed in the slightest.

I have a LOT of alterations to make for the tactical gear, a lot of the velcro won't fasten any tighter thanks to having lost weight since the last time I wore this back in 2013 to Youmacon. So, I have some sewing to do. :/

I'm not planning on giving too many details about my OC, other than that she's a French/American and feline hybrid who was transferred to Taskforce 141 as the team combat medic. That's all I'll say for now. I've been working on her since last year.

what if leona was on catnip (TWST)

It was a lazy afternoon in Savanaclaw, and Yuu found herself lounging in Leona’s dorm room. The prince of Sunset Savanna was sprawled out on his bed, half-asleep, his tail flicking lazily behind him. Yuu sat cross-legged on the floor, flipping through her notebook and debating whether she should bring up the peculiar thought that had been nagging at her for days.

Finally, she decided to go for it. After all, if anyone could handle a weird question, it was Leona.

“Hey, Leona,” Yuu said, her tone casual but tinged with mischief.

“Mm?” Leona grunted, cracking one eye open to look at her.

“Can I give you catnip and see what happens?”

Both of Leona’s eyes snapped open, and he stared at her like she’d just suggested something utterly insane. “What did you just say?”

“Catnip,” Yuu repeated, trying to keep a straight face. “You know, that stuff that makes cats go a little crazy? I’ve been wondering if it would work on you since you’re, well… part lion.”

For a moment, there was silence. Then, Leona sat up, his emerald eyes narrowing dangerously. “You’re joking,” he said flatly.

“Not really,” Yuu said with a shrug. “I mean, it’s just an experiment. It’s not like I’m trying to mess with you or anything. I’m just… curious.”

Leona groaned, running a hand through his hair. “Of course you are,” he muttered. “Why do I even put up with you, herbivore?”

“Because I’m fun?” Yuu offered with a grin.

Leona rolled his eyes but didn’t outright refuse. That only encouraged Yuu further. “So… is that a yes?” she asked, leaning forward eagerly.

“Absolutely not,” Leona said firmly, crossing his arms. “I’m not some house cat you can toy with. Besides, who knows what that stuff would even do to me?”

“That’s what makes it interesting!” Yuu argued. “Come on, Leona, don’t you want to know? For science?”

Leona raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. “You’re not giving me catnip, end of discussion.”

Yuu pouted but relented… for now. “Fine. But you can’t blame me for being curious. You’ve got to admit, the idea is kind of funny.”

Leona grumbled something under his breath, lying back down and throwing an arm over his eyes. “You’ve got too much time on your hands, herbivore. Go bother someone else with your weird ideas.”

Yuu chuckled, leaning back against the wall. “Alright, alright. I’ll drop it. For now.”

Leona’s tail flicked once more, and Yuu couldn’t help but wonder if she’d ever find an opportunity to test her theory. The thought of a flustered or playful Leona under the influence of catnip was just too entertaining to let go of entirely.
