Genuinely one of my favorite things about the maruaders fandom that is widely agreed upon:

Regulus is trans. Everyone assumes Remus is trans because werewolf behavior can look suspiciously similar to having a period. Shenanigans ensue:

*During 1st Year*

Sirius: *discreetly giving Remus chocolate during his time of the month*

Remus, in his head: HOW DOES HE KNOW? HOW DOES HE KNOW I'M A WEREWOLF? HOW DOES HE KNOW CHOCOLATE HELPS? WHY IS HE NOT SAYING ANYTHING? WHAT IS HAPPENING?

*Quidditch Locker Room*

Marlene: FUCK!

Sirius: What's wrong?

Marlene: I started my period and don't have anything on me!

James, who started carrying extras because he's a mom friend: Oh, here you go.

Marlene: *intensely stares at them* Okay if James carries the tampons and Remus is the one who uses them, why the FUCK is Sirius named Pads???

Sirius: Abort Prongs. There's no right answer to this one.

*During a Study Session*

Regulus: Ugh, I'm so jealous of you sometimes Lupin.

Remus "Low Self-Esteem" Lupin: Why?

Reg: It's just that. . .well, if your mood is any indication, your time of the month is so CONSISTENT! Like, every 28 days like clockwork. You've never had 2 in one month or anything!

Remus, in his head: . . .is. . .is Regulus a werewolf too? Is this how Sirius was so accepting?

Remus out loud: You get it TWICE sometimes, how is that even possible?

Reg: I know right, it's so unfair!

I'm afraid I won't be of much help here because I stopped keeping up with marvel as closely after TR but I remember when we got those released, mostly as pictures, and I've found these gif 1, gif 3 (be quick because marvel is taking down vids from YT), although I could have sworn I watched that interview when it came out but it's either not up anymore or I can't find it. The one I found was just a teeny tiny portion of it and not with the audio pictured in that gif but that's as far as that goes. I don't want to be digging in IW related content. I'm watching Merlin for the first time and I'm absolutely floored by it and by how much I fell in love with Merthur and the Knights, so here's a couple of Modern! AU that popped in my mind.

Rugby Champion/Nerd AU

- Probably a classic, I'd be surprised if ao3 wasn't plenty of it.

- Of course Arthur is Captain of the rugby team and of course Merlin is the guy sitting in the library all day.

- Don't ask me how they meet don't ask me how they fall in love, they just do

- Arthur's father is the school's principal

- And for this reason there's some people hating on Arthur cause they believe he has privileges

- Spoiler: he doesn't (or denies any of it when his father offers some) but due to this he finds hard to trust people

- Hence he trusts only his teammates aka true friends aka the squad!

- And Merlin of course

- Literally Heartstopper but make it #merthur with gay! Merlin and #bi-and-still-in-the-closet Arthur

Musicians AU

- Merlin goes to a public school and no one knows he's literally a world wide known classic musician

- Idk how don't ask

- Arthur is like the popular guy who plays guitar and all girls love him yadda yadda

- he has a band (must have the boys in every merthur fic sorry not sorry)

- Leon is the bassist, Percy the drummer, Gwaine the second guitar, Elyan is the dj and plays the keyboard, while Lancelot is the singer

- Again don't ask why don't ask how but Merlin and Arthur fight or argue and end up talking ever since

- Maybe Arthur was teasing him about knowing nothing about music

- Merlin silently snickering like *You dare to fight me with your half cheap-ass rock band when rich people spend thousands to listen me play at operas lmao you fool*

- But for some reason he can't tell him that or reveal his secret or else he'll be forced to change school (I dunooooo)

- So Arthur has no idea Merlin is a genius at music

- But.

- He notices Merlin has a perfect pitch, and something like- He can't explain it but Merlin has something with music, like a touch, so he invites him over to listen to his band

- All band members fall in love with him and side with him against Arthur when the two have their - now friendly - banters

- Bros being bros - Dudes being Dudes

- Idk what I was going for with this but IMAGINE WHEN THEY FIND OUT

- Like

- Imagine this fragile boi all cute smiles and sassy remarks and Arthur goes into protective mode cause he develops a crush-

And like, Arthur has a rock band so they look cool and they don't fear anyone in case Merlin gets bullied or something

And then they see him, for the first time-

Wearing a black/navy blue suit that costs thousand of dollars, walking in this giant golden opera with royal red drapes-

And he starts playing the piano for all these rich people and he's absolutely phenomenal

And suddenly Merlin fears Arthur won't be friends with him anymore or he'll fear he's gonna think Merlin is too "marvelous" to enjoy their little rock band

- But in reality Merlin loves them and he loves Arthur and Arthur honestly can't look at Merlin and see any other man than the guy he's been teasing and has argued with for all this time,

- aaand I don't know where I wanted to go with this as well lmao

Ooooh wait building off the Bojan being a musician and working in a daycare, one of the most popular bands here in Australia is The Wiggles who are a children's band that got started in the 90s and they make banger songs that are honestly also a little bit Joker Out sounding sometimes (i might just be crazy though and think that cause I like their work and JO has a fairly varied sound lol)

Anyway the og members were all early childhood educators and started a band in their 20s called The Cockroaches and then they pivoted and made children's music. They are a massive cultural icon here, their music is genuinely good (at least what i grew up with) they had an incredibly successful 18+ show a few years ago where everyone that grew up with them just came and parties and drank while singing children's songs.(I could talk for ages about them and their cultural impact on Australia and Aussie kids but I'll stop for now)

Anyway in an AU of your story I'm gonna imagine Bojan leads Joker Out into becoming the most popular kids entertainment group in Slovenia and they're beloved by generations of people.

(If you're interested i can send you a link to one of their songs grew up with that I really like. I could talk for ages about them and sorry this was only kinda related to the fic and probably means nothing to you but means a lot to me lol)

Question, because I'm really unsure about what to do. When writing NSFW Zukaang, to best keep their existing dynamic, would it be best to keep their ages as they are and slap a big fat warning on it, age them both up but keep the gap, age them both up and lower the gap or age only Aang up

Unfortunately, there isn't a "correct" answer to this question. It all depends on you, what you're comfortable writing, and how you want to write their relationship. I have seen all of these in practice and they all work, so just do what works best for you!

I would say to try not to overthink it, and don't push yourself to write something you aren't comfortable with. If the age gap makes you feel weird, remove if. If their canon ages make you feel weird, age them up. Alternatively, if you like the age gap and think it's interesting, leave it! Fanfic should be fun, don't try to force something you don't want to write just to adhere to canon or what other people want you to write.

in my hc the noble houses of menzoberranzan operate similarly to the houses in ice and fire where they’re constantly feuding with each other but instead of trying to take the throne/control of the whole realm they’re all fighting for lolth’s favour instead. and because they can’t outright declare war on each other (forgot the reason for why they can’t exactly do that but iirc lolth doesn’t like it?? she loves the drama I guess) and if they rise too quickly lolth casts them down so they have to be cunning about it. not to mention if they stay too long in power and do nothing about it that also displeases the spider queen so the nobility’s game of intrigue is constantly moving and working both for self gain and for self preservation.

shri’iia also plays the game but more of a pawn than a player. she’s not born from any noble house (she’s actually a commoner). the only reason why she has any foot in the game is that she’s taken in by the matriarch of faen tlabbar - one of the houses who fervently worships lolth to the point of zealotry - when they’ve heard word that she—a commoner—have managed to succeed lolth’s trials and gained her blessing. lolth blessings are rare to come and making someone a paladin is even more rare so for a zealot house, that’s a a sign they can’t pass up. so, the house matriarch takes her in and keeps in a tower where she’s supposed to pray and train to lolth day and night. the paladin oath that shri’iia swears is both for lolth and her matriarch; she swears to punish the enemies of her mistresses and forever keep her loyalty to them. her matriarch’s word is an extension to lolth’s will, so to disobey her will be disobeying lolth herself.

and ofc shri’iia being born poor with everything to give and nothing to lose, who thought that there is more to her life than a merchant’s daughter, to be known by the goddess she worship and noticed by one of the most influential houses in the city, swears herself to that oath. she never regretted that choice not even when she’s kept in that tower in complete isolation with her matriarch being the only person she could interact with.

ok so i'll link a few articles that explain it a bit more thoroughly but basically they were on the lineup for a festival sponsored by the israeli ambassy and once some artists discovered this they called for a boycott bc obviously a lot of bands don't wanna play a festival sponsored by a colonizer government with a lot of blood on their hands. all these bands pulled out... except the headliner amyl and it didn't take long for people to accuse them of being zionists and to this day ppl still aren't sure if the band ''really didn't know'' like they said or don't care and are posers... but heres some links with more details
