“Anti-Cultist Dworkin threatens you personally!”
Tumblr media
To be honest about Dvorkin the information was found after watching a video report of the American intelligence on the ESSC platform: “Grandmasters’ rematch. Secret Players Exposed” Videos — ESSC (earthsavesciencecollaborative.com). The speaker was Egon Cholakian from American intelligence. His regalia and titles pleasantly surprised me and so I decided to understand what he says in detail.
Briefly who is Dr. Egon Cholakian: (About Dr. Egon Cholakian: National Security Expert, Federal Lobbyist — U.S. Congress and White House. Registered Foreign Agent, U.S. Department of Justice — National Security Division. Member, International Association of Intelligence Educators, United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation, and Founding Member. Worked with: 4 U.S. Presidents, 3 U.S. National Security Advisors, 1 Central Intelligence Agency Director).
So, let’s take a closer look at the one who threatens you personally, as they say, you should know the enemy by sight.
Dvorkin Alexander Leonidovich is considered a sect specialist and the founder of “sectology” in Russia. A mentally ill person. For 4 years he was treated in the Psychoneurological Dispensary. He was diagnosed with cyclothymia (manic-depressive psychosis), pathological development of personality, psychophysical infantilism. In 2014, documents from medical institutions where he was treated were published.
More than 50 media outlets confirmed this information, including Moskovsky Komsomolets, Novy Region IA, Tribuna, FederalPress IA, Radio City FM, IslamNews and others. And in June of the same year, Moskovskaya Pravda published an article confirming the authenticity of the psychiatric documents. Suddenly, Dvorkin confirmed that he had indeed been in a psychiatric hospital, but only to avoid military service. He acknowledged some of the documents, but he still considers most of them unreliable. These events revealed Dworkin as a man with mental problems and as a liar, revealing contradictions between his public image and reality.
It was further revealed that the newspaper Tribuna had revealed Dvorkin’s fascination with drugs in his youth, which got him kicked out of university.
Emigrating from the USSR to the USA, Dvorkin joined CAN (“Cult Awareness Network”), an organization dedicated to “deprogramming” followers of new religions. “Deprogramming” is direct mental and physical violence against people in order to change their point of view and betray their values and beliefs.
And here are the shocking facts: in 2000, an American court found CAN and several of its members guilty of kidnappings and assaults, which the court described as “so heinous in their nature and so staggering in their degree that they transcend all possible bounds of decency, are atrocious and totally unacceptable in civilized society.”
It is important for everyone to know that such “deprogramming” by anti-cult organizations is used against individuals, as well as entire organizations and even commercial structures in order to take away money, valuables both material and internal.
How Dworkin participates in economic crimes I will tell you in subsequent articles.
So, in 1991, the FBI began investigating CAN and Dworkin left the U.S. and moved to Germany and then Russia. He continued to maintain ties with CAN. And in 1994, he organized a seminar and invited CAN member Ronald Enroth to attend. In 1993, Dworkin visited Denmark at the invitation of Professor Ogård, which was the beginning of the St. Irenaeus of Lyon Center. Ogård began his anti-cultist activities in 1973 and worked with CAN and AFF (American Family Foundation), which was later renamed ICSA (International Cultic Studies Association) and became a member of FECRIS. Dworkin was vice president of FECRIS from 2009 to 2021.
The anti-cult organization FECRIS spreads anti-cult ideology throughout Europe and beyond and considers its mission to be anti-cult ideology. Some of FECRIS members have been prosecuted for hostile speech or for attempting to use kidnapping and deprogramming of people who have joined new religious movements to force them to abandon their new beliefs.
So, intermediate conclusion: Dworkin is a mentally ill person who directly influences heads of state (how does Dworkin influence the war between Russia and Ukraine and Putin himself? ask me and I’ll write an article for you).
The following conclusion: anti-cult organizations violate the rights of people, states.
For those who do not understand: there are no sects, but there are anti-cult organizations that decide who is a sectarian and who is not. And already after such a stigma begins the harassment with force and sexual perversions, persecution. And the worst thing is that no one is safe from this. There are known cases when relatives and “good friends” turned to encyclopedic organizations for “help” to return a relative or friend who fell away from them to the family. Browse a little internet and see how many stories of such victims at the hands of Dworkin and the method of “deprogramming”…

By • Olalekan Fagbade Suspected armed robbers attack Radio Station, shut operations Four-member gang of armed robbers and vandals have reportedly attacked Radio Nigeria Harmony 103.5 FM station in Idofian, in the Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State on Tuesday, destroyed armoured cables and carted away valuable items. Tribune Online gathered that the vandals, who rode on two motorcycles, launched the attack at about 4:00am on Tuesday, after beating and successfully tying the night guard up. It was gathered that the hoodlums also went away with phones of the officers on duty. The FM frequency station, owned by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), has shut operation, following the damaged cables. Speaking with journalists, the assistant director for Programme, who represented the General Manager of the station, Hajia Binta Abubakar Mora, expressed displeasure over the attack, saying that the attack constitutes a great threat to the broadcast industry in Nigeria. “This is a great threat to the broadcasting industry in Nigeria. This has earlier happened to our sister station in Lokoja (Kogi) and even in Lafia (Nasarawa). As it is now, we are off air. The damage has been done. The affected armored cables are very expensive. What it will take to fix this is something that has become a burden on the management,” she told reporters after conducting them around their premises. “However, the lives of our staff who were on duty when the incident happened is worth more than whatever they have damaged. Because if anything otherwise had happened, it would have been a very sad story. We thank the Almighty God that it didn’t go beyond this”. Hajia Mora, who expressed concerns on the location of the station, called on the federal government to come to their aid to enable them resume operation. She also called on the government to assist in making their working environment more safe and conducive to work in, saying the location is not friendly enough. “For us here in Harmony FM, our location is not friendly. You can see that we are isolated. From here we cannot even sight the orphanage home building that is next to us. This place is in total darkness. If you come here after 6pm you will worry for those who work here. So, it is something the federal government needs to assist us with, and to fortify our security architecture. “I think this is an opportunity to call on the federal government to help to fortify the security architecture in all its media organizations including ours. Because the majority of FRCN stations are located outside state capitals. We need a lot of security here and stable electricity to check crime tendencies”, she added. Wasiu Zubair, the night guard on duty, said the vandals met him on arrival around 2:30am, and asked him how many of them were around, before collecting his phone, tying him and beating him up. “Around 2.30am at night, I heard dog backing and went out to check everywhere. I saw some people, like four, who later opened my door forcefully. They asked me in Hausa – how many of us are in the office? I told them I am the only person. They entered the main office and saw another person and tied our legs, covered our mouths and collected my phone before beating me up,” he testified.

Imo people urge Uzodimma to come home, face state’s challenges
Tumblr media
Worried by thier governor’s continued staying away from official responsibilities back home, the people of Imo State have urgently called on Senator Hope Uzodimma to immediately head home and face the multiple challenges facing the area and find lasting solutions to them. At the time of filing this news item, Uzodimma had spent about two straight months in Abuja, consequently fuelling the demand by his subjects for his immediate return home. A member of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Imo State branch, Barrister Canice Madukaji, stated that inasmuch as the governor’s presence was needed in Abuja for national politics, given the fact that he is the chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum as well as the chairman of the South East Governor’s Forum, Uzodimma’s primary and constitutional responsibility was domiciled in Imo. According to him, “There is the absolute necessity to put the records meaningfully straight here. By the dual positions of Governor Uzodimma as the chief executive officer of Imo State and his selection as the chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, he is duty bound to occasionally be in Abuja for what is called national politics. “Yet, it must have to be ironed out that Uzodimma’s primary and constitutional responsibilities are accurately situated for peace, orderliness, growth and development of Imo State. And for him to adequately carry out these onerous tasks, he is duty bound to stay put in the state in order to comprehend as well as find ways to solve the numerous challenges besieging the state, particularly insecurity, infrastructural decay and joblessness. “Therefore, it is absolutely condemnable if the allegations we have been hearing that Governor Uzodimma has been in Abuja for about two months running, is true. He has the rights and duties to visit Abuja to attend to few national issues confronting him. But staying there for two straight months is uncalled for”. Imo residents and people of the state are of the opinion that the real reason popular radio presenter and broadcaster, Comrade Theodore Chinonso Una also known as Nonso Nkwa, was arrested and taken to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, for questioning, was his incessant asking of why was the governor perpetually staying in FCT rather than being in Owerri, the Imo State capital, to attend to the various problems holding the enclave from growth and development. “Take it from me that all of us are worried even as we have been asking questions about the governor’s whereabouts, because he has not been in Imo for about two months now. And this is why things are extremely going worse in the state, especially insecurity. “Before now, insecurity was synonymous with the Orlu Zone. But right now, it has shifted to Owerri and Okigwe areas of the state. These were some of the issues that made Nonso Nkwa to be shouting at his Ozisa FM radio station and had continued asking “where is Imo governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma”? “Why is he in Abuja for about two months running”? “Uzodimma must return to Imo”. “These were Nonso Nkwa’s concerns, just like most of us. Right now, Nonso Nkwa is arrested and has been charged with a criminal libel by the Imo State Government through a petition brought by the commissioner of information and strategy, Hon Declan Emelumba. Yet, the demand still rages: Imo people want Uzodimma to return home. His continued absence from his exalted position is not to our best interest”, Ebuka Afam Echi, a public affairs analyst, submitted. As another human rights and social crusader in the state, Comrade Duru Daniels, put it, “Investigation I conducted confirmed that many Imo State communities have been submerged by numerous degrees of erosions, and in worst proportions. “The people in remote villages are under the pangs of poverty due to joblessness even as both curable and non curable illness are killing both the aged and the young regularly in the face of collapsed medical facilities. What of the renewed insecurity now dancing uncontrolled in Owerri and Okigwe zones? “And the governor, for two months and still counting, is still in Abuja. We do not know what he is really doing there. We hear, he is deeply involved in national politics – this is good because Imo is a part of Nigeria. But he is not Abuja governor. He is Imo State governor and we urge him to race home to face the problems here”. It is the opinion of one of the best known socio – political commentators in the state, FCC Jones that Governor is in Abuja to find a way to safely secure his second term ambition in the November 11, 2023 governorship election. Jones said many things are going on in Abuja, which, if Uzodimma does not get himself involved in the “Nigerian way” of politics, he might be knocked out of the way. He still joined other numerous well meaning members of the state in calling Uzodimma to rush back home as many things, according to him, are going on wrongly in the state. Read the full article

I think some parents and community members need a reality check
Many parents and people in the community seem to be under the impression that schools are going to be perfectly safe to return to because of all the extra precautions and equipment. The following is an account from a middle school teacher who teaches at a public school that is normally populated by about 1500 kids. We’re pretty middle of the road. Not a “bad” enough school to get the heavy investment of state and federal money, but not “good” enough that we have a bunch of parent and community donations. We rely solely on what is provided by the district.
The dristrict/state promised:
Desks would be 6ft apart as much as possible
Class sizes would be smaller to limit cross contact between kids
Masks would always be on
PPE and sanitizarion equipment would be provided in excess
Facilities would constantly be cleaned
Mass gatherings (lunches/breakfasts) would be limited and restructured from years past
The reality so far:
Classes exactly the same size if not bigger than last year.
Desks don’t even have 1 ft between them because of how many have to be in a room
Children being allowed exemptions/no punitive actions being allowed to be enforced for kids refusing to wear masks
One gallon of hand sanitizer per classroom
No gloves
Two 50-packs of hand sanitizing wipes per teacher. To be clear, we are supposed to sanitize every desk between every class. These won’t even get us through day one. We were not provided with any other surface cleaners.
No soap or paper towels for hand washing in classrooms
Lunch and breakfast procedures were only released today, the Friday before our physical return to campus and they are exactly the same as previous years.
There are no class “pods” or staggered transitions. All students will flood campus at the same time in a mad dash to change classes. Oh but don’t worry, they have one minute less of passing time.
Some side notes that are already concerning regarding cleanliness and safety:
With only half of the staff on campus and no children in the building, the classrooms’ trash hasn’t been emptied all week. The teachers have been required to be on campus unless we have an exemption so there is trash.
The staff bathroom is already out of toilet paper and paper towels and has been for two days. I can’t imagine what the student bathrooms will be like
The FM mic that needs to be worn for deaf/hard of hearing students is supposed to be shared between each of the students’ 7 teachers and just wiped off with alcohol wipes in betweeen. I have yet to be provided with these wipes.
We have been told we have to be out of the very limited sanitation supplies before we can request more, but it will take about 2 days for them to arrive
Teachers were given 1 single layer nylon face mask each
We aren’t allowed to send students to the nurse or front office and instead have to call and have someone come to our classroom. As of 4:45 when I left campus today, the Friday before our Monday return, the phone and intercom system in our building wasn’t working
The ac is not working in an entire building on campus and is also out in many individual classrooms. (I teach in south Florida where opening a window for airflow is not really an option due to rain and heat)
I understand that public schools do in fact provide a picnic funded service and need to have an option to be open. But don’t bullshit everyone and lie to constituents by saying it’s going to be safe when everyone who has ever worked in a public school in any capacity knows it’s just not possible. Parents don’t know what they’re sending their kids back to. Tell the truth so people can actually make an informed decision.

Obtaining Your Low-Power FM License: Gathering Essential Elements – Low Power FM Radio
See on Scoop.it - LPFM Radio
As the countdown clock winds down, with just one month remaining, it’s time to focus on meticulous preparation. Once your non-profit organization has committed to obtaining a low-power FM radio license and established a connection with an advocate to facilitate the paperwork, the subsequent imperative is to collect all the necessary components. Time is of the essence, but there exists ample opportunity to systematically assemble everything. The application window for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is open from December 6th to 13th, providing a trove of information about the LPFM service on the FCC website. Explore the essential components required for your LPFM application: Organizational Documentation or Government Charter Fulfilling this requirement involves submitting your non-profit’s distinctive Articles of Incorporation to the FCC alongside the LPFM application. If your non-profit has yet to complete state-level incorporation, expedite the process, typically taking only a few days. We can help you with this. Pay close attention to nuanced details outlined in pertinent resources to ensure seamless compliance. Importantly, obtaining Federal 501(c)3 tax-exempt status is not obligatory for applying for an LPFM license. Controlling Members’ Names and Addresses Every organization seeking an LPFM permit must provide the FCC with a comprehensive list of its controlling members. For non-profit organizations, this entails submitting a detailed list of board members, including residential addresses and voting percentages. To meet the criteria for local consideration, either the organizational headquarters must be within 10 miles of the proposed transmitter site, or 75 percent of the board members must reside within that radius. This requirement extends to 20 miles outside of Nielsen top 50 Radio Markets. Educational Statement Submission of an Educational Statement accompanies each organization’s LPFM radio application. This statement should delve into the organization’s distinct educational objectives, elucidating how introducing an FM broadcast will actively contribute to those unique goals. Ensure the statement is replete with pertinent details, such as accreditation documents for educational institutions, specific program examples, and a sample weekly schedule. The educational statement becomes a documented part of the organization’s public record. Tower Site Assurance It’s very important that your organization secures a location for the transmission tower and provides reasonable assurance for antenna installation. Submit precise longitude and latitude coordinates to the FCC, ensuring accuracy to avoid disqualification. Engage in a detailed discussion with the property owner, establishing a “meeting of the minds” in FCC parlance. At this stage, a formal property contract is unnecessary, but you must provide the FCC with the property owner’s name and phone number for verification. Selected Channel and Engineering Study (if required) Leverage our LPFM Radio Channel Finder to identify distinct frequencies in your area and at your tower-site location. Channel selection involves considering unique factors such as interference and competition. An engineering study may be necessary if the chosen frequency has pre-existing stations on adjacent channels. This study serves as unique evidence that the new signal won’t cause interference. Given the specialized nature of this work, professional assistance should be sought. For additional guidance on LPFM applications, non-profits can explore support from LPFM.pro with specialized expertise in the field. As the deadline approaches, the emphasis on crafting a robust and distinct application is crucial before strategizing for success. Stay tuned for the next installment, where we navigate through distinctive scenarios and guide you to emerge triumphant!

Mo Brooks on 2020 Election: Massive Voter Fraud, Election Theft ‘to a Degree Never Before Seen in the History’ of the U.S.
Thursday, during an interview that aired on FM Talk 106.5 in Mobile, AL, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) laid out his plan to challenge the results of the 2020 election when Congress convenes on January 6 to certify Joe Biden as the next President of the United States.
Brooks explained he needed a member of the U.S. Senate to back him and said he would provide members of the U.S. House of Representatives to serve as objectors to states in question.
The Alabama congressman said it was up to Congress, not the courts, to determine the November 3 election’s legitimacy. Brooks declared a level of fraud and theft never experienced before in the history of the country.
Partial transcript as follows:
BROOKS: By way of background and contrary to what a lot of people think, the courts are not designed to resolve an election dispute for President, Senate, or the House of Representatives up here in Washington, D.C. The Constitution, along with accompanying federal statutes, are quite clear: the United States Congress has the final verdict, decree — whatever you want to call it — on every election contest involving members of the House, members of the United States Senate and the President of the United States.
Even up here on Capitol Hill, a lot of folks weren’t familiar with those provisions of the United States Constitution. So, part of my job has been to educate people — say, “Whoa, wait a second. The courts are not a place this is supposed to be.” Don’t be surprised when the courts don’t bother to hear these cases. They just dismiss them outright for lack of standing or some other procedural reason without getting to the substance of it. It’s not their job. It’s our job, the United States Congress. We’ve caught people’s attention on that.
The second part of it is — has there been sufficient systemic voter fraud and election theft to justify denying states with badly flawed election systems their Electoral College vote submissions. I don’t think there’s any question. The over, overwhelming evidence — and it is compelling nationally is because of major systemic flaws with various election systems in various states, in addition to what you’re reading about in the news media about particular lawsuits — in addition to all that, it is clear that many of these states have election systems that are untrustworthy and the election was stolen from American voters who supported a conservative, a Republican rather than a socialist and a liberal.
And so, that’s the backdrop. And hopefully, I’ve been in a position where I can explain to people how compelling the evidence is where they get past this mantra from the fake news media and by the socialist Democrats who keep screaming to high heaven “there’s no fraud, no fraud.’ Well, that’s bunk.  Do your homework. There’s only one rational, logical conclusion to reach — that there’s been massive voter fraud and election theft to a degree never before seen in the history of the United States of America.
And so on January 6 at 1 p.m., we’re going to have a roll call of the states. That roll call of the states will be presided over by Vice President Mike Pence. It will be a joint session of Congress, at which point in time each state submits their purported Electoral College votes. We in Congress have the absolute right to object to and reject those state submittals of Electoral College votes. We believe that they’re not worthy of our trust. The requirement first is that you have a House member and Senator who jointly file that objection.  I’m willing to do the House side, and I should add there are lots of other congressmen who want to do it on the House side, too — more congressmen that want to object than we have states to object to.
There’s some competition over who gets to object to which states. Then we need one Senator, and if that happens, that triggers a two-hour debate to each state that is objected to, followed by a House floor vote and a Senate floor vote on whether to accept or reject the electoral returns of that particular state that has been objected to.”
I’m providing the House objectors. The question is simple: Will there be a Senator who is willing to stand up for our country and the election system that is the bedrock of any republic in order fight this voter fraud and election theft, or are you going to do like some of our surrender caucus members want us to do — just give and say, ‘That’s the way it goes. They stole it fair and square.  We’re outgunned. We’re not going to fight.’ I don’t believe in surrendering. I believe in fighting for our country.

Maynard Jackson
Tumblr media
Maynard Holbrook Jackson Jr. (March 23, 1938 – June 23, 2003) was an American politician and attorney from Georgia. A member of the Democratic Party, he was elected in 1973 at the age of 35 as the first black mayor of Atlanta, Georgia and of any major city in the South. He served three terms (1974–1982, 1990–1994), making him the second longest-serving mayor of Atlanta, after six-term mayor (1937–1941, 1942–1962) William B. Hartsfield.
He is notable also for public works projects, primarily the new Maynard H. Jackson International terminal at the Atlanta airport, and for greatly increasing minority business participation in the city. After his death, the William B. Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport was re-named Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to honor his service to the expansion of the airport, the city and its people.
Family history, background and personal life
Jackson was born into a family that valued education and political activism. His maternal grandfather was civil rights leader John Wesley Dobbs, who worked to successfully overturn the white primary in Georgia. He also gained the hiring of black police officers in Atlanta and lighting of Auburn Street, the main retail street of the black community. Maynard's mother Irene (Dobbs) Jackson was one of his six daughters; all graduated from Spelman College, encouraged by their parents. Irene earned a doctorate in France and became a Professor of French at the college.
His father Maynard Holbrook Jackson was a Baptist minister from New Orleans. He became active in civil rights in Dallas, Texas, where he had grown up after his family moved. His grandfather Alexander Stephens Jackson had been a Baptist minister and educator in Louisiana and Texas. The young Jackson's father died when he was fifteen; his grandfather Dobbs became even more influential in his life.
Jackson attended David T. Howard High School in Atlanta and Morehouse College, a historically black college for men in Atlanta, graduating in 1956 at the age of eighteen. He sang in the Morehouse College Glee Club. After attending the Boston University Law School for a short time, Jackson held several jobs, including selling encyclopedias. He returned to graduate studies, attending the North Carolina Central University Law School. He graduated with a law degree in 1964. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
Jackson married Burnella "Bunnie" Hayes, in 1965. The couple had three children: Elizabeth, Brooke, and Maynard III. Bunnie Jackson founded First Class, Inc., a public relations and marketing firm in Atlanta, prior to their divorce.
Jackson married Valerie Richardson in 1977, to whom he was married for 25 years until his death. They have two daughters, Valerie and Alexandra. Valerie Jackson hosts Between the Lines each weekend on the WABE-FM radio station, the Atlanta Public Broadcasting station.
Early career
Jackson worked as a lawyer for the National Labor Relations Board and a legal services firm. He joined the Democratic Party.
Political career
In 1968, Jackson at 30, decided to run for the US Senate against incumbent Herman Talmadge. His campaign was underfunded, and he lost, but Jackson won in Atlanta, gaining prominence in the city, which had a substantial black minority. The following year, he built on his strength, gaining election as vice mayor, who was presiding officer of the board of aldermen. At that time, Atlanta modified its city charter, strengthening the position of mayor and renaming the vice mayor as president of the city council (aldermen were now city council members).
In 1970, Jackson became Atlanta's first Black Vice-Mayor, his first elected position which he held for four years.
In 1973, Jackson was elected with 60 percent of the vote, as the first African-American mayor of Atlanta and any major southern city; he was supported by a coalition of white liberals/moderates and African Americans. At the age of 35, he had unseated incumbent Sam Massell.
During his first term, Jackson worked to improve race relations in and around Atlanta after the polarization caused by the election campaign. As mayor, he led the beginnings and much of the progress on several huge public-works projects for the city and region. Affirmative action programs helped minority and women-owned businesses to participate. He helped arrange for the upgrade of the then-William B. Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport's huge terminal (now Domestic Terminal) to modern standards. Jackson strongly opposed the construction of freeways through in-town neighborhoods, knowing that such actions destroyed thriving communities.
Jackson was mayor through the period when the separate Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) obtained a large amount of Federal funding for a rapid-transit rail-line system, when construction began, and when MARTA began its first rail transit service in Atlanta and in DeKalb County in 1979 and during its continual expansion thereafter. As mayor, he celebrated in September 1990 when Atlanta was selected as the host city for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. As mayor, he accepted the Olympic flag at the 1992 closing ceremonies in Barcelona, Spain. He oversaw the completion of many planned public works projects, such as improvements to freeways and parks, and the completion of Freedom Parkway, which were expedited from 1990 to 1996 in preparation for the Olympic Games that began in August 1996.
During Jackson's second term as mayor, the Atlanta Child Murders were ongoing between 1979 and 1981. He supported the Atlanta Police and other police forces in the area but also worked to calm public tensions aroused by the serial killings of black children. The accused killer, Wayne Williams, was caught in 1981. Williams was convicted to serve two consecutive life sentences for the murder of two adult males, but never charged with or tried for the murder of any of the child victims. He is currently being held in Telfair State Prison.
In 1974, Jackson received the Samuel S. Beard Award for Greatest Public Service by an Individual 35 Years or Under, an award given out annually by Jefferson Awards.
Controversy
Maynard Jackson provoked a major racial crisis in May 1974 when he attempted to fire the incumbent white police chief, John Inman. Jackson believed the change was needed to grapple with Atlanta's growing crime problem and charges by the black community of police racial insensitivity toward African Americans. Whites opposed the firing and racial tensions rose, detracting from Atlanta's proud motto: "too busy to hate."
In August 1974 Mayor Jackson appointed A. Reginald Eaves, a college friend and fellow activist, as Public Safety Commissioner. Eaves was criticized for lacking police experience. He generated controversy by appointing an ex-convict as his personal secretary but was criticized more for what was considered as a system of quota promotions and hiring in the police department, which many decried as "reverse discrimination."
Jackson fired Eaves after revelation of a police exam cheating scandal. Eaves was later convicted by a federal jury of extortion in 1988 after selling his vote on two rezonings.
Atlanta's crime
In addition to the 1979–1981 Atlanta Child Murders mentioned above, residents were concerned about a rising crime rate during Mayor Jackson's tenure, which was consistent with national trends. In 1979, with a soaring murder rate and nationwide publicity about crime there, Georgia Governor George Busbee, acting on a request from Mayor Maynard Jackson, called in Georgia State Patrol troopers to help patrol the downtown. The business community accused Mayor Jackson and Police Chief George Napper of dismissing public concerns about crime. Atlanta had the highest murder rate and the highest overall crime rate of any city, and the numbers were rapidly climbing higher, with a 69% increase in homicides between 1978 and 1979 alone. Much of it was considered driven by drug wars.
Service to the Democratic National Committee
After leaving office as mayor, Jackson continued to be active with the Democratic Party. In 2001 he unsuccessfully sought the post as the Democratic National Committee chairman, losing to the fund-raiser Terry McAuliffe, who had the backing of former president Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton. Jackson was backed by presidential candidate Bill Bradley, among others.
Jackson was appointed as the National Development Chairman of the Democratic National Committee and was the first Chairman of the DNC Voting Rights Institute. In 2002, he founded the American Voters League, a non-profit and non-partisan effort to increase national voter participation. He appeared briefly in the 2001 documentary Startup.com.
Legacy and honors
In 2008 the Southside Comprehensive High School was renamed the Maynard Holbrook Jackson High School.
In 2003, Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport had Jackson's name added to it, and in 2012 the airport's new international terminal was named for him.
In 2015 a documentary film about his life and work, entitled Maynard, was in preparation, directed by Samuel D. Pollard. It is expected to be released in 2016.
The Maynard Documentary was officially selected by DOC NYC to premiere at their film festival on November 16, 2017.
Death
Jackson died in 2003 at the age of 65, of a cardiac arrest at a hospital in Arlington, Virginia after suffering a heart attack at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. His remains are buried at the Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta.
