Forgotten Shovelware

I did not use After Effects for this, just Affinity Photo and Capcut, and screen to gif

I actually used Nintendo's Mii Builder to make a reference Mii before going in and adding in my own elements.

I mostly kept the head, body, and mouth shape, while flipping the nose shape upside down. I was planning to heavily modify the eyes and hair, but I wound up just making them from scratch. The Ears, Goggles, and arms are also completely original.

The 3D effect is a combination of of gradients and bevel effects, because 3D modeling is annoying.

The character animation was created by moving the layers around by hand... er... mouse. Kinda sorta like digital stop motion.

The background was inspired by this:

As far as I can tell, Capcut doesn't let you make gradients, much less animate them, which is why the background is actually a screen recording. I'm dragging a hue slider in Affinity Photo just off screen. It's a really silly solution, but it works.

If the font looks familiar, its because it's Shin Go, a font used in a lot of Wii games.

All of the post processing effects are from Capcut except for the pixellation. In order to make the pixels look right and keep things from looking too silly, I applied the effect by hand to each of the layers. If I did a lazy version of the pixel effect on the entire image, it probably would've been to blurry to make out.

This is 𝒶𝓃𝑜𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇 one of Misunmar's partners! This is Achest Dhovta, an older Redguard. I'll drop some lore about them below !

This is Achest ! They are Sunny's 4th partner, and the last one to join the polycule. She is a transwoman that uses she/her and they/them. This is the first instance into what she looks like and I kinda stumped myself by wondering if I should make her old in this, like she possibly actually would be in this scenario, or if I make younger her to see what she looked like in her prime. As you can see, I went for the latter. The ghost of Sunny possessed me. I had to do it.

At some stage I'll probably actually introduce Misunmar and his partners properly but for now you get random little crumbs 🫶

Isopuppy Sewn Pattern Update: At long last, I've found time to get back to working on this! AKA I didn't feel like writing this weekend so LET'S GO SEWING YAY.

Current status: I have the final pattern worked out (plus or minus some seam allowance adjustments) and I've moved from junk fabric to final fabric. Hoping to get a good way into cutting/construction tomorrow. Unless I feel like writing. Who knows! Not me!

So I have had a ridiculous amount of fun this last week plushifying art and throwing my usual crafting rules out the window as I did so*, and I think I want to make plushifying art a more regular thing? I'm not sure how best to do that, though. Should I make a post that's like "reblog this if you want your art turned into plushies", or "reblog this with links to art you want turned into plushies" or suggest a tag that people can add to art they want plushified, and then I go through the tag when I want to make some plushies? *no paper patterns, just drawing directly on the fabric so each plushie is one of a kind

“Fossils”

I used blender to design some rocks with its fancy rock button. The circuit texture was made with a displacement effect on a cut edge. I’ll make a post with the textures so people can see what I did & steal em if they want.

I started 3D printing these but realize my FEP has a ripple in it and I need to do some maintenance. But I’m tired and disappointed.

So, as I found some older renders I made with Lois, Clark and Jon in old timey looking attire, I gave my best to try again. So I did try again.

The first one is inspired by 1940s photos, the second one by 1950s photos. Inspired, not trying to recreate as it is beyond my capabilities.
