Once the Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road event finish I bid my farewells to the Yellow Brick Road to find my future. As I was walking and resting waiting to get a car Elton opened his set with Bennie & The Jets. It was particularly appreciate given the theme of Elton’s final tour. I listened to the songs echoing outside Dodger Stadium and enjoyed the crowd of fan cheering after each song with the exception of Bennie & The Jets where they cheered throughout the song. I found that amazing because the original version was recorded live and in a similar fashion people cheered throughout the song. I aught a car home thinking of my youthful obsession with Elton John. Friendship, Passion, and The Man that I can’t stop talking about

“I hope you don't mind...I hope you don't mind...that I put down in words...how wonderful life is while you're in the world.” (Elton John ) Truly, madly, deeply.💗💗 Speaking of words, my mom has warned me repeatedly about posting about my love life on social media, saying “It gets old.” But, it doesn’t feel like it’s getting old to me - not when there are so many words to say about Nick Yedinak and this love we’ve got. When we’re at our best, it is truly the best feeling in the world - like my shiniest, yet most warmly-faded, nostalgia-fueled Saturday morning memory of my young life in Dallas in the ‘80s, filled with sprinkled, pink-frosted donuts and Casey Kasem’s countdown on the radio. And, at those rare times when we’re at our worst? Well, we just have to remind one another of the good times - and, of that perpetual, once-in-a-lifetime feeling we give each other - and, remind each other that we both have a lot of fun to stick around - and stick together - for. My mom also told me growing up that in romance, friendship was more important than passion because passion fades. But I always believed passion was more pivotal in shaping a successful, happy couple. One of my best friends @iamTreyFanjoy solidified that belief in me when she visited not too long ago and listened to me vent about a minor argument we were having. She told me that it really looked like we have passion and then asked me “Do you have crazy passion together?” To which I replied to no one’s surprise, “Yes.” She then told me, “Then, hold on to one another because serious passion is rare and more bonding than anything else.” And, I have to concur. Now, because of you - @nickyedinak - I believe that it’s all actually a warm, wonderful, familiar, exciting dance between the two: a friendship that feels like we’ve known each other and cared for one another long before now, and a passion that is not only incomparable but comfortable. Still processing the magic of Friday night.

I laughed, I cried, I danced. I feel so grateful to have witnessed the living legend that is @eltonjohn, in his natural environment on stage performing.

He played for nearly 3 hrs. straight and never missed a note or cue at the age of 72, aand having been touring for 50 years.

This was the most magical, virtuosic, and technically stunning show I’ve ever experienced musically, and it was the best money spent of my lifetime. So happy it was all with my momma by my side.

Thanks for the magic, Elton. We’re sad to see you stop touring, but you’ve more than earned the chance to see what lies in your future #beyondtheyellowbrickroad.
