Farah would be the one to propose to Alex. She would have to, he wouldn't. To Alex he doesn't deserve to ask her such a thing, he won't dare to make her make such a decision. The world they live in won't allow for something such as marriage, there was no time for it. He knows he loves her and know she loves him, he doesn't need to ask for it won't prove anything.

So she asks, before Alex blows off another leg for her. He abandoned his whole world for her. Been there for her in her war when he didn't need to be. He was devoted to her and her people, and that meant everything to her. She knows he won't ask and why. So now she has the perfect day planned for them, if the war was willing.
