''Who Trolled Amber'' podcast

The highlights of each episode from the podcast. You can listen to it on Spotify, Youtube etc. EPISODE 1.

The outcome of the trial definitely damaged #METOO movement;

There were 80k of anti Amber Heard tweets, more than anti JD tweets even though AH was the one who accused him of abuse;

There's no way it was all organic, they either bought bots or those were real people pretending to be JD's supporters;

According to Jennifer Robinson, one of AH lawyers from the UK trial, Amber'd never wanted to relieve what had happened to her during the relationship;

Jennifer thought it'd be easier to win the US than in the UK;

The information about bots were thrown out way before the trial hence Ron Shnell couldn't talk about in the courtroom; EPISODE 2.

According to Ron Shnell there was a bot campaign against AH but he wasn't 100% sure because the judge struck out that research;

Kathryn Arnold shared that AH wasn't allowed to be a part of Aquaman 2 promotion tour and was banned from posting anything Aquaman related;

KA also said that AH couldn't audition, no one would hire her and that the agents were told not to touch her[AH]; EPISODE 3

The podcast creators asked experts(Kai-Cheng Yang) to check the date that was given by Ron Shnell;

According to the data: many accounts with no followers had tweets with more than 5k retweets/likes; hundreds of identical tweets were posted in one day; many accounts liked 400k tweets; 10k of identical comments were left under AH youtube videos; many accounts change their tune(from right wing Chile politics) and out of nowhere started to post pro JD tweets; half oh the data/accounts/tweets were generated by inauthentic accounts and then the real accounts started to engage with those tweets etc. it all started in November 2020 when JD lost the UK case and was fired from Fantastic Beasts; EPISODE 4

Cameron Herrin case was mentioned, more specifically the sudden interest and pro CH posts on TikTok asking to reduce his sentence and that he is innocent. Most of the accounts that were spreading those posts were from Middle East; EPISODE 5

Some Arabic twitter accounts suddenly started to tweet Pro JD tweets in English during and after the US trial;

The friendship betweet Johnny Depp and prince Mohammed was mentioned(him financing JD directorial movie Modi); EPISODE 6

Adam Waldman worked for Lavrov as a consultant for years(2010-2017);

During the deposition Adam Waldman refused to answer more than 70 questions;

Alexi Mostrous tried contacting ''the internet journalists'' aka TUG and ThatBrianFella but they didn't answer; he also pointed out that the audios that were posted by ThatBrianFella were clearly edited(we know);

Mostrous also tried to call Adam Waldman but he didn't pick up the phone and 25 minutes later posted a tweet:

“He[Adam Waldman] attacked witnesses, he attacked us (legal team)..unlike anything I have ever seen from a lawyer” said Jennifer Robinson. ''Amber Heard wrote an Op-ed for Washington Post which is a very respected publication and Johnny Depp's name isn't in it. It told to survivors if this can be done to a woman whose actually well-known and well-established person in the industry, it's gonna be even worse for you.'' All-in-All, it's clear as day that Waldman was behind the bot campaign against Amber. We've known that but it's good that a popular podcast researched about it and shed a light on it. Plus it's always great to see JD fans being nervous and panicky.

Most Crushed on Male Harry Potter Characters: A Study (Version 1)

I was wondering what male characters from Harry Potter (including Hogwarts Legacy and Fantastic Beasts) are the most crushed on. When I couldn’t find anything online that answered my question, I decided to take it into my own hands and research it for myself. I looked at reader-insert fanfics and thirst trap videos on 4 websites (AO3, Tumblr, Wattpad, and TikTok) since I think it’s the most effective way of seeing how many people want to be the focus of a Harry Potter boy’s affection. Here are the results as of August 6, 2023! 

Note: I researched other characters (ex. Matteo Riddle, Charlie Weasley) that weren’t listed here, but some of them didn’t make the cut on any website. I’ve also never seen Fantastic Beasts or played/watched videos of Hogwarts Legacy, so it’s possible that I missed loved characters from those parts of the Harry Potter universe.

What I did: I researched how many works are under “(male character)/reader” and “(male character)/you.” The number of works under these tags differed, so the number in parentheses is the higher number of works between those 2 tags. I only counted pairings with at least 300 works.

Potential problems: I think the AO3 results are the most accurate since for the most part, all reader-insert works are under only 1 name of the character, not something like “Snape/reader” and then “Severus Snape/reader.” However, I did notice that there were sometimes works with 2 characters where 1 character had a relationship with the character, while the other character was in a loveless arranged marriage or some sort of non-con relationship that the author didn’t mean to romanticize. 

TUMBLR

What I did: I researched “(male character) x reader,” “(male character) x you,” and “(male character) x y/n.” The number of followers under these tags sometimes differed, so I recorded the highest number of followers between the 3 tags. I only counted characters that had a reader-insert tag with at least 2k followers. Some characters are tied because Tumblr only shows followers in thousands, not the specific number.

Potential problems: Because Tumblr doesn’t have a set tag for reader-insert works, I had to look up characters under multiple names, like “Remus Lupin x reader” and “Lupin x reader.” I had to exclude Harry’s tags because a lot of the works under those tags were mixed with reader-inserts or other characters. Also, there are probably some thirst photos/GIFs on Tumblr for male characters that aren’t tagged as a reader-insert. 

WATTPAD

What I did: I researched “(male character) x reader,” (male character) x you, and (male character) x y/n. The number of results under these tags sometimes differed, so I recorded the highest number of results between the 3 tags. I only counted characters that had a reader-insert tag with at least 10k results. Some characters are tied because Wattpad doesn’t show the exact number of results.

Potential problems: I don’t think these results are very accurate. Because Tumblr doesn’t have a set tag for reader-insert works, I had to look up characters under multiple names, like Remus Lupin x reader and Lupin x reader. I had to exclude Harry again because his results pulled up results for other characters. Similarly, searches for other characters pulled up reader-insert stories written only for a different character. 

TIKTOK

What I did: I looked up “(male character) thirst” on TikTok and filtered the results to show videos in order of highest number of likes to least number of likes. The first video wasn’t necessarily a thirst video of that character, so I had to manually search for the thirst video with the highest number of likes. I only recorded characters where their thirst video with the highest number of likes had at least 10k likes. Some are tied because the same video covered multiple characters.

Potential problems: There were so many problems with finding videos on TikTok that romanticized the character, so I would take the TikTok results with a grain of salt. It was really frustrating to research on TikTok LMAO. I originally just looked up videos with the name of the character, but it took forever to find a thirst video and it was sometimes difficult to tell if it was an actual thirst. For example, there were some edits of Snape that showed him as a kid and a grown-up and it wasn’t clear if the creator was romanticizing him. For this reason, I know that the rankings I listed are most likely inaccurate because there are definitely thirst videos of characters that weren’t labeled as thirst videos. Also, for the results I gave for Harry, I looked up “Harry Potter thirst” and chose the video that @miwallbank duetted and had the most likes. 

COMBINING THE NUMBERS 

For accuracy reasons, I left out the numbers of results from TikTok because I think that my research was inaccurate for the most part.

Do I think these final results are accurate? Most likely not, so take the final results with a grain of salt. Also, these results aren’t necessarily indicative of how much a character is crushed on since there are probably plenty of people who don’t write fanfiction or follow tags on their loved character. 3. Runaway Boys by Delphi

Delightfully surreal and strange fic of Snape experiencing his puberty, with characters from Peter Pan.

Summary:

Severus dreams of pirates, and Lily closes the nursery window.

4. Entracte by @shes-a-gryffindor

Sirius' visit to Godric Hollow the night Lily and James died - the prose is so masterful with building tension, and how it seamlessly moves from Sirius' anxiety, to shock to grief and to rage.

Summary:

Sirius Black visits Godric's Hollow for the last time.

Good Omens Fanfic Rec (19 Jul 2024)

Started off as a human AU week, but I eventually read some canon stories.

Miracles on Ice (131K; Rated E) by @henriettarhippo-hrh

Human AU/Enemies-to-lovers. Holy cow, this was an absolutely fantastic, addictive read. I stayed up until 4am every night until it was done. This is the "Blades of Glory" Good Omens you never knew you needed.

Aziraphale and Crowley are Olympic men's figure skaters who loathe each other. After a fight on the podium gets them banned for life, they find a loophole that allows them to compete in pairs.

Of course, this being Good Omens, there's a lot more romance and sex than the Jon Heder/Will Ferrell movie. Gabriel is a real standout in this one as Aziraphale's (and eventually Crowley's) coach. He's a genuinely good person. Oh, and Crowley does not look good in this one at first. He's the main instigator of the public feud between them. (Not that Aziraphale is completely blameless). And in a first, the villain is Anathema (it's in the tags; I'm not spoiling by saying this).

The Invisible Touch (31K; Rated T)

Human AU. A really sweet story with little actual angst, though Aziraphale is both oblivious and has pretty low self-esteem, so he creates more angst in his mind than he deserves. The author, Appleseeds, is also a magician, so there's an element of verisimilitude to the story.

Aziraphale is reduced to a quivering mess just looking at Crowley’s face smiling up at him from the programme, let alone sitting in the front row of the theatre watching him perform, or standing face-to-face with him, with Crowley's hand on his arm, after he summons him to the stage to help him with one of his tricks...

When Aziraphale reveals that he too is a magician and the two actually become friends, Crowley soon realises that someone has severely knocked Aziraphale’s confidence, and becomes determined to do whatever he can to restore it.

Endless Night (32K; Rated T)

Human AU. University student Crowley has been crushing on his flatmate, Aziraphale, for months now, and when the opportunity to spend time with him in a haunted mansion presents itself, he jumps at the chance. He didn't expect to get stuck in a time loop, redoing the night over and over until he gets it right.

Dark Was The Night (20K; Rated E)

Reverse Omens AU. The author packs a lot into this story set in 1640. It's the first of "The Dove and the Dragon" series of cryptid stories with the demon, Azrafael and the angel, Crowley.

Wendigo: a mythological cannibalistic monster in the spiritual tradition of North American Algonquian-speaking tribes. It is associated with winter and described as either a fearsome beast that stalks and eats humans or as a spirit that possesses humans, causing them to turn into cannibals.

In the winter of 1640, Hell has claimed responsibility for the massive death tolls caused by the French/Iroquois War, and the desolation wrought to colonizers that have taken up residence in New France. Anthony has made it a personal mission of his to do everything to protect the peoples afflicted by this devastation, unaware of the magnitude of Hell's influence on these poor souls.

Meanwhile, Azrafael discovers Hell has unleashed a very powerful species of demon into the world, intent on destroying all life in the area, with Heaven's permission. The Wendigo has risen, and they have abducted Anthony. With the clock ticking, Azrafael sets off on a rescue mission to save Anthony before the Wendigo demons can consume his Grace and banish Anthony's soul to the void for eternity. The question is: With as powerful as these demons are, feared even by Lucifer himself, will Azrafael succeed in saving his beloved angel?

Part I

Summary: Where Newt Scamander’s journey finds him back in America.

Setting: Between the first and second movie, canon!verse 

Word Count: 1,955

A/N: I’ve had this WIP mostly completed since shortly after the first movie came out and just never got around to finishing it because life had gotten in the way. But after looking at it with fresh eyes, I was really proud of what I had written. I hope you enjoy it :)

New York wasn't much unlike London. The people were as cold as the weather and streets equally caked in a layer of grime from the Muggle Innovation Era. Urchins peddled papers and gentleman hefted briefcases, neither acknowledging the others’ need to get on with business. The automobiles belched noisily down ill-formed roads, avoiding the humans and horses alike which shared them.

In fact, the main difference was the Wizarding community had faced greater hardships in recent history that England had dealt with in the Dark Ages. This led to a much more reserved lifestyle of muggle camouflage and total segregation. While he didn't approve of its archaic nature, Newt understood their caution. He more so simply didn't care. History had never been his best subject.

Glancing briefly at a ruddy, yellowing map (that had been enchanted to provide clearer directions), Newt stepped off a high curb to get across the street. There was a painful swell in his heart with each step that brought him closer to Kowalski’s Confectionery. Despite it, he couldn't bring himself to not pay his dear friend a visit now that his journey found himself back in the Americas. He knew Frank’s forgetful rain would have been thorough, and yet he hope his own research on the Swooping Evil venom’s potency was in need of tweaking. Newt tucked the map in his breast pocket as he rounded the last corner.

Jacob’s bakery was a lighter shade than the buildings on either side of it, and far more colorful by comparison. Warm butter and sugar aromas floated invitingly from the front door, which fluttered open consistently as customers wandered purposefully in and contentedly out. It wasn’t until he waded through the throng to the shopfront window that he ran smack into a wall of pride. “Pickett, come quickly,” Newt said under his breath. He lowered his face to the glass before a hunk of cocoa dusted, bulbous bread with a pointed bit folding slightly over a pocket of golden cream.The sign indicated it was his best seller.

A gentle skittering crawled up his sleeve and left goosebumps in its wake. When it reached his neck, he suppressed the urge to cringe and grinned a little wider instead. Squeaks of recognition and surprise chirped excitedly in his ear. “My thoughts exactly,” Newt agreed, eyeing his minute green friend. Ensuring the latch to his suitcase was secure, he fell in line behind a broad shouldered man as they entered the shop.

“Come in, come in! Get outta the cold and sample the finest hot chocolate to go with your delight - Thank you, darlin’, you enjoy that - Now whose can I help next?” Jacob’s warm voice carried over the chatter. The brown tweed suit had been replaced with a white smock covered in flour, batter and frosting. Big smiles with bright cheeks and eyes, wholesome and genuine laughs as he interacted with his customers, hands adeptly grabbing this and boxing that; He was finally a man of his craft and it was beautiful to watch.

“Cocoa’s ready, Honey!”

Now that was a voice Newt had not been expecting.

Tina’s insightful sister Queenie entered through an opening to the back of the house with a tray of steaming mugs. Her own smock was a spotless silky pink number over a matching white slip dress. As Newt tilted his head at her presence, she met his eyes all the way at the back of the shop and smiled so big the men in the front swooned. She set down her tray and whispered into (or was that a kiss?) Jacob’s ear. With an assured nod from him, Queenie gracefully slid into the back. Newt slipped outside.

It didn't take long for her pastel pink overcoat to come skipping into view. “It's a pleasant surprise to see you too, Mista Scamander!” Her arms wrapped around his neck before Newt had the chance to welcome the hug.

He stepped shyly away after the embrace. “Not that I'm not thrilled to see you, but what’re you doing here?”

She blushed with a dainty shrug. “Jake’s special, you know?” Her eyes lit up and she took his free hand. “Come see, he’s wonderful!” Queenie gave a gentle tug before letting him go and led them to the back entrance.

If the shop window was a wall of pride than the kitchen was as vast as Hogwarts itself. Overwhelmed, Newt hugged his suitcase to his chest. “Merlin,” he swore softly.

Cooling and drying racks lined every surface available, pastries filling each one. Among the simple and cozy muggle treats were ones carefully crafted to resemble his creatures. A glazed, lumpy loaf stood on stumpy ‘legs’, cherry cordial dotting the ‘forehead’ on a shelf; finely rolled twigs of pretzel that had been dipped in green frosting were standing roughly ten centimeters tall from atop a fridge; on the center counter were coiled ropes of pinched and pocketed bread smothered in cinnamon and sugar resting beside flour dusted balloons of hardening white chocolate icing, flakes of silver sprinkled on top.

“Jacob’s gonna hide them inside the shell,” Queenie explained from very nearby and startled Newt.

“...how-”

“Is he doing it?”

“No, well yes, that, but getting away with it? MCUSA-”

“Assigned Teenie to keep an eye on him, so she assigned me to keep a closer one,” Queenie finished, biting her lip to keep from smiling too wide. “Make sure he doesn't tell other No-Maj’s too much. Ma’am President admitted to the Auror’s that a sizeable portion of New York remember hints of magic, but not enough to be a threat.”

Newt, who had been admiring the icing detail of Doogle, blinked into focus. “So he-”

“Hey, Queenie, who’re you talkin’ to?” Jacob rounded the corner and smiled at the two of them. “How ya doin’, Fella? Friend of Missus Goldstein?” he asked while dusting off his hands.

Newt’s hope plummeted faster than a dropped quaffle. “Y-yes.” The pause was deafening. “She was showing me your wares. They're magnificent.”

“Why thanks, Mister.” Jacob turned his face ahead of his body, presumably out of embarrassment, and opened a fridge where more bowtruckle pretzels were setting. These ones had been dipped in chocolate. “I hope Pickett don't mind that I made some others from his branch.”

Newt stumbled at the elation that threatened to overwhelm him. Jacob turned around, tray in hand, with a brilliant smile. Queenie bit the tip of her tongue as she stifled a giggle. “You're cruel, the both of you,” Newt said, a hint of playful chide in his tone.

“So how much do you remember?”

Jacob, Newt, and Queenie sat around the quaint Goldstein dining table enjoying a massive English meat pie that Queenie whipped up. After the emotional whiplash at the bakery, Newt busied himself with his creatures while the others finished out their day and closed shop early.

“Most of it, I think,” Jacob answered. “Some spots are hazy, y’know? Don't know too much about what happened in the bank, or how I got this,” he motioned to the small scars on his neck. He smiled fondly as he fiddled his fork thoughtfully. “But I had dreams of your suitcase, and everything inside. Thought I had, heh, had been poisoned at first, they were so vivid, so awesome...I knew that'd be the Kowalski difference for the bank manager, so I ran with it.

“But really, it was Queenie that made it clear that it was real. I remembered all of yous, but still thought it had been an elaborate dream. When she walked into the shop,” Jacob drifted off with a chuckle and threw his hands in the air to shrug. “She and Tina filled in the gaps. The rest is history.” Newt couldn't contain his smile.

“Teenie’s become quite the criminal since you showed up,” Queenie said playfully, delighting at Newt ducking his head to blush at the table. “She’s gotten much better at lying.”

“Don't suppose that works on you, though,” Newt replied.

“Oh, Honey, I don't need Legilimency to get the truth out of Teenie. She is my sister, after all.” Queenie grinned with her tongue between her teeth as her eyes sparkled and she flexed her fingers.

“Ah.” Newt reflexively turned his body away from her as she pantomimed.

Jacob laughed at this. “Any doubt that those two are related gets wooshed away when a tickle fight breaks out. Or when they join forces,” he added that last sentence with an unnecessary hand shielding his mouth from Queenie to be directed at Newt.

Despite an alarming number of fond memories, from school or otherwise, Newt felt the embarrassment over such physical contact smother him. Rather, most physical contact with humans. Pain was easy to understand and deal with but affection… The vulnerability of it all was often too much for him. And with something as chaotic as tickling, which engages fight and flight in the same second and yet choosing to stay due to an insatiable craving for touch -

Newt shook the thoughts out of his head.

“Don't worry, Honey, Jake likes it more than he lets on, too. Isn’t that right?”

Jacob choked on his beverage. Newt wished he hadn’t returned to America.

It had been two days since Newt’s arrival before Tina returned home.

According to her sister, Tina had been on an Auror assignment for the past week at Ilvermorny to ensure the schools protective wards were at their strongest. He had been both relieved and disappointed as he received the news while thumbing at a parchment wrapped book. His parchment wrapped book, fresh off the publication line for hand delivery. Which had been a lovely, daring idea at the time but felt rather foolish now that he actually had to do it. Anticipation was murder so he left the book in his actual suitcase and promptly forgot about it for future Newt to take care of.

Tina threw open the door to her flat, expecting no one in the middle of the day and finding, well, him washing his hands in the kitchen sink after lunch feeding. They were both startled, only she had her wand out.

“Stupify!” Tina shouted, wand pointed at Newt and unleashing a stunning wave of force that sent him to the floor. She cleared the room in a few strides. “You chose the wrong place to rob, Mister - AH! Mister Scamander?! What are you doing here?!”

Fog clouded his mind as he flipped onto his back and held his head with both hands. Blinking away the haze, Newt found Tina’s concern face less than a foot away from his and froze. “Hello, Miss Goldstein, it’s good to see you too.” A contrite look crossed Tina’s face and he began to laugh.

Tina rocked back on her heels to sit beside him. “I-I thought you were a burglar!” The accusatory statement inspired more laughter from him and she smiled through her embarrassment. “Oh, shut up,” she said, gently pushing him in the ribs. Newt jumped with a sharp gasp, wedging his body into the corner between the floor and sink cupboards. Instinct dropped his elbows tightly to his side and his knees curled inward. “Sorry! Didn't mean to hurt you...again,” Tina grimaced.

He sighed in an attempt to release some of the tension in his body. And to will away the redness surely staining his cheeks. “No, no, didn't harm, more surprised really,” Newt said with his eyes cast at the floor behind Tina.

Tina stood up and offered her hand to Newt. He took it graciously. Face to face, both bashfully blushing and having a hard time looking at each other, Tina broke the silence. “It really is good to see you, Newt.”
