Pay attention to the particulars of Mastercard's responses, because this a textbook example of how to create plausible deniability.
"Mastercard has not barred any legal transaction" is, technically, a true statement – because Mastercard is not the one processing the transactions in the first place. Mastercard does not deal directly with any merchant, and in fact typically refuses to communicate with merchants at all; there's always a payment processing service sitting in between Mastercard and the merchant, whether that's Stripe or Paypal or any of dozens of other service providers.
Consequently, there are two layers of service agreements in place: the agreement between Mastercard and the payment processing service, and the agreement between the payment processing service and the merchant. That second layer of service agreements, between the payment processing service and the merchant, is where all of these content restrictions are being imposed. Mastercard can thus truthfully claim that they aren't barring legal transactions.
Now, if you've been paying attention, you've probably already spotted the issue: if the content restrictions are being imposed upon the merchants by individual payment processing services and not by Mastercard, why do all of those payment processing services seem to have exactly the same content restrictions?
That's where the critical sleight of hand comes in: while Mastercard's own terms of service do not require payment processing services to bar transactions of particular types, their ToS does require payment processors to bar transactions which could be damaging to the Mastercard brand. What constitutes damage to the Mastercard brand is not defined; it means whatever Mastercard wants it to mean. The payment processing services are thus in a position where they can be held in breach of Mastercard's terms of service for basically any reason, which gives them a strong incentive not to test any boundaries.
And that's why Mastercard can truthfully say they have never barred any legal transaction: they're never the ones doing the blocking. The layer of payment processing services that sits between Mastercard and the merchants are enforcing those content restrictions, based on a series of unwritten handshake agreements between the payment processors and Mastercard regarding what does and does not constitute acceptable content – and because the particulars of those handshake agreements aren't in writing, Mastercard can assert that their terms of service do not compel payment processing services to bar any legal transaction and technically be telling the truth.

Reading the new checks that might come in due to the Online Safety Act in the UK and this is actually bullshit

[Image Transcript:
And how will I prove my age?
There’s a number of methods a site or app might use to ask you to confirm your age. They might do this check themselves or use another company to do the check. These methods include:
Facial age estimation – you show your face via photo or video, and technology analyses it to estimate your age.
Open banking – you give permission for the age-check service to securely access information from your bank about whether you are over 18. The age-check service then confirms this with the site or app.
Digital identity services – these include digital identity wallets, which can securely store and share information which proves your age in a digital format.
Credit card age checks – you provide your credit card details and a payment processor checks if the card is valid. As you must be over 18 to obtain a credit card this shows you are over 18.
Email-based age estimation – you provide your email address, and technology analyses other online services where it has been used – such as banking or utility providers - to estimate your age.
Mobile network operator age checks – you give your permission for an age-check service to confirm whether or not your mobile phone number has age filters applied to it. If there are no restrictions, this confirms you are over 18.
Photo-ID matching – this is similar to a check when you show a document. For example, you upload an image of a document that shows your face and age, and an image of yourself at the same time – these are compared to confirm if the document is yours.
End Transcript.]
Not only is this such a fucking breach of privacy, but this is going to hurt adults in vulnerable and abusive situations. Some adults don’t have bank accounts or credit cards or even a fucking phone. I’m one of them. I could not give half of this information even if I wanted to. What the fuck is this. Fuck the UK government. This isn’t going to protect kids, this is just going to hurt adults, and I know full well when they say “sites that allow pornography” they’re going to be going after sites that have huge amounts of queer content, like tumblr and Ao3. Queer kids are gonna lose their fucking communities because of this shit. Abuse victims are going to lose online support systems because of this.
I’m genuinely fucked off about this, and worried about whether I’m going to lose every single one of my online friends. Anyone in the UK, please email your MP and sign this petition. It needs to reach 100k signatures to pass through Parliament.
I’m only hoping the backlash will be big enough for them to stop implementing these measures.

Good Omens Fan Fiction Friday (8/1/25) - BAMF!Aziraphale
I didn't realize how much I adored BAMF!Aziraphale until I started writing Anchored. And now I find in the comments, that I'm far from the only one. So let's give a shoutout to our favorite BAMF angel (or, as he might say, confident ruffian who has carnal relations with a female parent). We'll start with a fandom classic, You Can't Un-See a Dog (T) by DannyeChase/@holycatsandrabbits. Humans summon Crowley who tricks them into calling on the Guard of the Eastern Guard. The banter when Aziraphale shows up to rescue his demon is a riot. But Aziraphale is only getting started.
Love the idea that Aziraphale is not just a BAFM because he's strong. But also because he's smart.
Next up is Incongruous States of Being (T) by @zehwulf. After the Armageddon't, our favorite angel and demon go on a picnic with the Them, Anathema, and Newt. The kids ask: "Who would win in a fight, angel or a demon? Aziraphale dithers but Crowley answers immediately, "Aziraphale." When a group of demons appear in the park, we discover Crowley is right.
I adore this depiction of a strong Aziraphale who chooses to be soft. it's very compelling. Giving a shoutout to @fumblingbuffoon who introduced me to this fic--see, sometimes I do remember to add the recommender to my spreadsheet.😛
A Business Arrangement (E) by @copperplatebeech does give professional escort Anthony Crowley the traumatic backstory that causes me to avoid reading sex worker fics. Their tag "for the love of God legitimize sex work" persuaded me to give it a shot anyway. And I'm glad I did. Aziraphale is so busy doing his family's bidding in their security firm that he never attends to his own desires. Hiring Crowley benefits both of them. Especially since the escort could use a BAFM on his side.
In @klikandtuna's Down/Up (M) we get two for the price of one--BAMF!Aziraphale and BAMF!Crowley along with BAMF sidekicks Gabriel, Beelzebub, and Muriel. This is a tight, concise speculative season 3 story, told in 12 chapters. It is a wild ride! [Edit - Oops! @klikandtuna points out is actually 20 chapters. But I stand by my description. It's tightly plotted moving swiftly and a great read.]
The Book of Prometheus (T) by @lyricwritesprose is inspired by The Flowers for Anthony series. In this tale, it's Aziraphale who keeps getting reincarnated with every life showing a different aspect of his character. BAMF!Aziraphale is the version that shows up at the Armageddon't, thanks to Adam. I have to thank @turquoisedata for suggesting this fic to me--one of the great benefits of making these lists.
A Model Guardian (E) by fuuma-san serves up a seemingly conventional depiction of Aziraphale as a bad-ass. He is, after all, a bodyguard assigned to protect the model, Crowley. And yes, he knows martial arts and can toss someone around like a sack of potatoes. But he's also a bad-ass parent to four queer teenagers. Again, this is a compelling BAMF!Aziraphale who is both strong and caring. Thanks to @addledmongoose for sharing this wonderful find with me.
The fic, Strangers Again (patria sine memoria) (M) by @doric-column offers another view of BAMF!Aziraphale whose badassery is rooted in his intelligence. As Crowley says, "it's hot." But it starts in a tough place when Crowley enters the bookshop to discover Aziraphale has lost his memory--but only his memories of the demon. It's a fascinating read, a tight and compelling story.
Finally, we'll end with The Last Angel (M) by @bellisima-writes in which Aziraphale is "the BAMFiest Aziraphale." Yes, it's right in the tags. I love this post-apocalyptic tale in which Aziraphale and Crowley never met on earth, and Hell won the war against heaven. Aziraphale is the titular last angel. And Grand Inquisitor Crowley is assigned to get him to talk. These reimagined characters fascinate me. I highly recommend it if you want BAFM!Aziraphale dialed up to eleven. There's one more BAMF!Aziraphale story I love. But it was a Tumblr post and I can't find it. I'd be forever grateful if someone has the link and would be wiling to share it in the comments. In the post, Crowley is stuck in hell and another demon is sent to earth to replace him. Aziraphale promptly discorporates that demon and every other replacement until Beelzebub finally gives up and returns Crowley to earth. Do you know it? [Edit: @turquoisedata found the link here. The ficlet is by @rainydaydecaf and very entertaining in just a few words. ]
I hope you like my small selection of BAMF!Aziraphale works. Reblog and share your own. We can't ever have enough feisty fics about our favorite angel.
'll be back next Friday with more great Good Omens fan fics on a new theme. In the meantime, check out my other favorite fics on this pinned post of weekly Good Omens fan fiction recommendations. And if my faves appear to be your faves, check out my bookmarks on AO3--all the fics I rate in my top 10% of everything I've read.
Don't forget to nurture the fan fic community. Share kudos and comments to show the many wonderful creators how much we appreciate them. Writing is a lonely hobby. Let's encourage the hard working writers we love so much.

Greater Than Our Suffering (96K; Rated E) by @theladydrgn and @sylwritesstuff

I love how this fandom celebrates the right to be who you are. Here are a few fictions where our Ineffables are trans characters. I know there are many more fictions featuring Aziraphale, Crowley and any side characters as trans, so please add them in the reblogs/check the reblogs for additions.
Not A Thirst Trap But An Oasis, by LexArturo, scullyphile. Rated M, 4k. P. Jul 24.
Lovely story where Aziraphale and Crowley were school friends who went separate ways and find each other again via Instagram. Featuring trans Aziraphale, genderfluid Crowley, beautiful art, and sweetness.
Something Good And Right And Real, by foolishlovers. Rated T, 30k. P. Oct 24.
Lovely, delicate human AU where Crowley is a famous singer tired of fame and being on the road. He goes back to his hometown of Tadfield for a break, and there he finds something he thought he had lost forever. This is a story about love, about friendship, about finding a home and about happiness.
Whickber Uni's Lonely Heart Club, by ineffabildaddy, rated E, 21k. P. Feb 25.
Lovely human, college, enemies to lovers AU. Aziraphale and Crowley are co-president of Whickber Uni's Book Club. They hardly tolerate each other. They are organising a valentine's social event for the club. Need I add more? I loved this version of our ineffables, their strengths and vulnerabilities are so in character and yet so relatable, their humour and banter are great, and they're just so adorable

Cheeky Bastards
A Good Omens Enemies to Friends To Lovers FanFic
Rating: Mature
Summary: Dr. Crowley is the latest hire in the English Department at Eden Valley University. He doesn’t know his colleague Dr. Fell, and he doesn’t want to. But when budget cuts force them into a car for six hours on their way to the Central States Literature Conference in Chicago, it doesn’t look like he has much choice.
Thank Someone for small favors.
Chapter One Excerpt:
“Don’t leave on my account,” Dr. Fell says as everyone else vacates the room. “I would rather enjoy hearing your thoughts on the antiquity of my area of expertise.” “Um, yeah, about that,” I say, scratching the back of my neck and feeling like a bit of an arse. “I was just—” “I’m well aware of what you were doing, Dr. Crowley,” he says. “I’ve seen how you operate.” “Have you?” “Have I what?” he says as he puts water in the electric kettle. “Have you seen ‘how I operate’?” “Ah, yes,” he says. “I have. I’ve noticed your need to be the center of attention. It’s not a criticism. Merely an observation.” “Merely an observation?” I ask. “Do you go around observing me often?”
Read it on AO3
Thanks to my betas: @brenna and @on1occasionfork and to my cheer readers: @goannasun and @missunderstoodlyrics
Y'all are the best, darlings!

Trying to remember the name of the one with vampire Crowley and trans Aziraphale. Will reblog if I can find it later.

Your MFLs’ worst nightmare is back, everyone. You’ll never get those down and you don’t really want to, do you? So please help yourself to this wonderful selection of fictions I have been lucky enough to read in July! There is something for everyone: canon, canon divergent, lots of human AUs, and my first fantasy AU! Any rating, any length, WIPs and complete fictions, you will definitely find something you like and haven’t read! (Except for you, Pups. You’ve read them all already, haven’t you?)
These fics will be added to The Nice And Accurate Lists Of Di-42, Witch, if you enjoy my lists please consider following my side blog for when you need inspiration on what to read.
As always I’ll try to tag the authors whose Tumblr usernames I know, if you know any usernames I’m missing, please tag them or let me know.
As always if you want your fic taken off this list, or know someone who does, please let me know and I’ll do it immediately, no questions asked.
As always, please, please, please, remember you are much better than someone who would judge a fiction by the number of kudos.
Please don’t forget to leave a comment on the fictions you read, anything from a heart emoji to an essay will be treasured!
And now, gather close, good people, til the fire nearly scorches you. Gather close and let me tell you what I loved about
July’s Jubilant Fictions
WIPs:
Accidentally In Love, by SpyGlassez @wildespyder. Rated T, chapters 28?49.
Slow burn human AU featuring long COVID suffering ace Aziraphale and relationship averse Crowley. After their first meeting they are drawn to each other despite their doubts and insecurities. It is such a joy to follow their journey and to witness their blossoming friendship! This story has such a gentle, refreshing, angst-free pace! They both slowly start to suspect they want more from this friendship and even though they don’t really (so far) talk about it, there are no major misunderstandings. Great story!
Anchored, by @curiouspupsicle. Rated M, chapters 9/27.
Sailing human AU with a slow burn and lots of nautical knowledge! Crowley and Aziraphale are competing international race sailors with a history between them that we’ll discover as we go along. Great characterisation and banter, FANTASTIC self confident Aziraphale, council estate liverpudlian Crowley: these are the ingredients for a great fiction!
Better The Demon You Know, by HenriettaRHippo @henriettarhippo-hrh. Rated E, chapters 4/12.
This story has very quickly become my new obsession! It’s soooo good! Canon divergent AU in which Aziraphale was never stationed on Earth, but was captured by hell and given to Crowley as a reward for (accidentally) discorporating Sandalphon. Please do read the tags carefully for this one as it’s on the darker side in regard to trauma and abuse, but oh! I am always in awe of writers who can imagine a canon divergent relationship between these two: how would they meet? Would they befriend each other under different circumstances? Would they trust each other if they hadn’t both lived on earth since the beginning? Would they still be them? According to this gripping story, it really seems they would. I can’t wait for each new chapter of this fic!
Group Chat: Flat 3b, by whatkeepsusalive. Rated T, chapters 10/15.
Oh, the fluff of this story! Fluffy banter, fluffy humour, fluffy pining, fluffy ikea trips, fluffy everything. The word adorable has been invented to describe this fiction. Human AU in which Aziraphale and Crowley are flatmates. You might think that they are pining for each other as per trope, but pining doesn’t begin to describe it: they are completely, unquestionably in love with each other. They might not act upon it, but it’s not like they deny it either. While there is a certain amount of dancing around each other, there is no real miscommunication in this angst-free story, just gentle, fluffy waiting, gentle, fluffy smiling, gentle, fluffy joy of being around each other. Did I mention the fluff?
Do You Believe In Love Afterlife? By Letha. Rated E, chapter 1/40.
Only one chapter in, but I’m hooked already! AU in which human Aziraphale buys a property comprising a flat and a bookshop. He hears strange noises at night, and one morning he wakes up to find someone has tidied up the cups he had left around the shop. Yes, this is a ghost story, yay!
Complete Fictions:
Morning After Nights Before, by Majnoona @majnoonathelibrarian Rated M, 15K. P. Jul 25.
Oh, but the gentleness of this human AU is something else! Two lonely souls who come upon each other and, thank someone, won’t let go. Each of them has got his vulnerabilities and it’s heartwarming to see how they start to trust each other. I love how they encourage each other to be their true self, to reach for what they really want, to heal and be healed. Really great story!
What We Know Of Cages, by CurrieBelle. Rated T, 25k. P. Jan 20.
This is the first Fantasy AU I’ve read and I couldn't have asked for more! The beginning is so intriguing (Crowley is a wrench, and I don’t mean that metaphorically), and the ending so heartwarming! I loved the timeless setting typical of certain fantasy fiction, but the great characterisation and the bond and trust blossoming between Crowley and Aziraphale is what really made me love this fic!
The Trouble With HELL, by @beerok23. Rated E, 120k. P. Jul 25.
Aaaahhh! Oh, this fiction. It took over my thoughts. I have had my fair share of fictions I have been obsessed with, but every now and then you come upon a fic that you’re not just obsessed with, but that in your mind kind of replaces canon. I was thinking of this fic’s version of Crowley and Aziraphale with more fondness than I was thinking of the canon version; I needed to remind myself that their particular bickering and bantering and falling in love wasn’t canon, it was a human AU version of them. The humour, the characterisation, the side characters, the suspense, the tension (sexual and otherwise), the plot, the mystery! There is nothing missing from this fiction, not a thing! It’s beautiful and perfect, and I’ll miss HELL Aziraphale and Crowley so, so much (though hopefully not for exceedingly long, as a sequel seems to be in the writer’s brilliant mind already. Yay!) You all know that when I’m so passionate about a fiction it generally doesn’t disappoint, so you know what to do: read it with style!
Angels On High, by Santillatron. Rated M, 30k. P. Oct 21.
The rock climbing human AU I didn’t know I needed! Aziraphale tries out rock climbing. Crowley is a rock climbing instructor. Aziraphale turns out to be too good a climber for Crowley’s liking. Tantrums, fits, sweetness, flirting and pining ensue. Lovely fic, highly recommended if you need a story to cheer you up!
One-shots:
Consenting Cycle Repairmen, by @groovynightstrawberry. Rated E, 13k. P. Jun 24.
This story was absolutely adorable! So hot, but also so sweet at the same time! Human AU in which Crowley and Aziraphale open two bike repair shops next to each other. The writer does a wonderful job at showing us our heroes’ vulnerabilities through their masks of self confidence. Great characterisation and a heartwarming ending, I loved it!
Click, click, Flash, by @thavron. Rated T, 4k. P. Jun 25.
This human AU has a very gentle tone. Aziraphale is a famous actor, Crowley is a celebrity photographer. The narration is almost poetic at times and the writer does a wonderful job at painting the whole picture by showing us only a few selected scenes of the relationship between Crowley and Azraphale.
Hooked On A Feeling, by @itsscottiesstark. Rated T, 12k. P. Jun 25.
Adorable and heartwarming strangers to lovers human AU where Crowley and Aziraphale meet in a bar. Soft Crowley, light banter, fluff, and great side characters! What more could you ask for?
Assistance With Evicting Former Partner Needed, by @waitingtobebroken. Rated T, 6k. P. May 25.
By now, everyone knows that WaitingToBeBroken never disappoints! Aziraphale needs help in getting his ex to leave his flat, Crowley wants to create chaos. This Human AU is hilarious and sweet, the dialogues and characterisation are great as usual and there is a little nonsensical spooky element that makes the story all the more intriguing!
Good Omens - Civilian Casualties, by The_Annuntziation. Rated G, 4k. P. Jul 25.
This in-universe rarepair fic is so original and so funny! Scattered with literary references, from Homer, to Dante, to Shakespeare, it will make you root for one of the characters you never thought you could root for! I was laughing out loud throughout the fic, it’s a real treat!
Reunited, by CuriousPupsicle. Rated T, 2k. P. Jun 25.
This story is so full of fluff and humour, just the way I like them! The author in the story (who’s also the author of the story -the meta-author?) is trying to write a sweet scene between Aziraphale and Crowley, but keeps getting interrupted by a demon and an angel on her shoulders who have opinions on how the story (in the story) is going. It’s a treat!
Very Personal, Very Quickly, by @mageofthepeople. Rated E, 5k. P. apr 25.
The sweetest friends to lovers human AU! Aziraphale and Crowley are flatmates and best friends. The level of trust and bond in this fiction is so heartwarming and for once they are communicating beautifully and clearly.
To The Bone, by @quitequaintrelle. Rated E, 7k. P. Jul 25.
Get ready for an incredibly hot piece! This is a delicious post-canon, established relationship fiction, full of sexiness, tenderness, love and mutual trust. The writer does an excellent job at weaving humour and banter with the heat of the scene and the characterisation is great!
Keep Reading, by Aerenii @savyl. Rated E, 1.8k. P. Jul 25.
Have your fan ready for this incredibly hot post-canon fiction! Male presenting Aziraphale and female presenting Crowley go on a plane. Crowley is feeling rather horny. The fact that the fiction is told in Aziraphale’s POV makes for some hilarious lines in the middle of all the heat. And yet, the thing I loved the most about this fic is the unquestionable love between our two Ineffables! Fantastic fic!
Written for Good Omens After Dark’s EXPOSED: public and semi-public sex fuckfest 2025, do read the tags!
Well Earned Rewards, by Aerenii (Savyl). Rated M, 2k. P. Jul 25.
I am always in awe of the humour in this author’s stories and this one doesn’t disappoint! Post-canon, established relationship fic. Aziraphale asks Crowley to help get people to Nina’s coffee shop stand at a festival and promises rewards to motivate him. Challenge accepted, Crowley naturally behaves like a 4 year old (and we love him for that!). This fic is just so full of love: their interactions, their banter, their everything screams love! It’s the husbands at their husband-est!
‘t Smidje (Belgijka), by @enderhuntresss. Rated G, 2k. P. Jul 25.
I was so, so lucky that this wonderful fiction was my gift from the writer for FTH! I love it so much! It’s a sweet and tender high school human AU where Crowley and Aziraphale have a secret crush on each other. Neither of them thinks the other is interested until they have to learn to dance the Belgijka. They hold hands, they stare into each other’s eyes, and va-voom! This gift was a real treat to read and I’ll treasure it forever!
Burn The Memory Of Who I Was Before, by WaitingToBeBroken. Rated T, 2k. P. Jul 25.
Lovely, bittersweet Reverse Omens AU, where angel Raphael and demon Azirafell have to hide their true feelings for each other and from each other. I really, really love that, even in this version, Aziraphale/Azirafell is the one whose main focus is to protect, and Crowley/Raphael is the one who says fuck it all, let’s do this! Because to me it’s really important that they are who they are: while their history, trauma and circumstances might affect their way to see and feel things, their behavior and reactions, the deep core of their personality stays the same. I loved it!
Physical Education, by @victims-of-love. Rated E, 1.4k. P. Jul
Human AU where literature teacher Aziraphale joins the volleyball team. And NOT because he has a crush on PE teacher Mr Crowley. This fic is deliciously smutty and fantastically funny!
My own Play By The Rules, rated E, 2k.
Every now and then I need to get some smut out of my system before happily going back to my fluff and humour. Aziraphale follows a handsome red-haired man to the toilet of the bar they are in, eager to let the man have his way with him. Written for Good Omens After Dark’s EXPOSED: public and semi-public sex fuckfest 2025, do read the tags!
June 25’s list here.
#good omens#good omens fanfiction#i suspect some of these will end up on my friday list in the future

The Season of Nightingales 🕊️ [PODFIC] - Chapter 16
Are YOU ready for Taika Jesus?
Look I just work here, the voices pick themselves!
The Season of Nightingales
A post S2 plot-with-fluff, in which Aziraphale and Crowley explore ineffable affection while trying to save the world amidst unexpected friends, a guileful Metatron, and a Heavenly floor full of the Blessed Dead.
Rated: T | Playlist length: 8h 49 minutes
🎧Listen Here!
Chapter 16 - The Pearly Gates
As the Supreme Archangel approached, the cloud surface formed a fluffy colonnade leading to the veranda. Aziraphale walked on, smiling as his neck craned up toward the rise of the pearly frames, each of them slotted with bars of pure opalescence, like harp strings twining the solemn notes of euphoria. It was the closest thing to music that Heaven had. Jesus had built it himself. The gates parted, revealing a sudden radiance of ever-present sunshine. Aziraphale closed his eyes and gave a sigh as he stepped inside. The entire experience had been designed to perfection. Nowhere beyond these gates was it too hot; nor too cold. Never too bright, nor too dim. The sparse furnishings were never too soft nor too hard; and the music was only just loud enough to ease the effect of silence, while not loud enough to cause anyone annoyance. Beyond these gates was Heaven’s definition of Paradise, a proverbial Goldilocks world where everything was just right.

It's DONE!
Eight months, 34 chapters, 138,000 words, two MCs, a whole cast of supporting characters and the first draft of my inaugural attempt at original fiction is officially complete.
I feel disingenuous calling this a first draft, to be honest. In some ways it’s a first and in some it’s a fifth. In I’ve been working on this for eight months (I hadn’t thought of any of the world building before I sat down in January) and in some ways I’ve been working on it for 43 years.
But what it is, undeniably, is completely mine.
And I know no one will ever think it’s as good as I do. No one will ever care for the characters as deeply as I do or miss the world I’ve created as deeply as I will, but thats not the point. The point is, I did this. Me. All on my own.
I bought a notebook for this occasion that I intend to take with me everywhere. Because I’m not allowed to edit this again in 2025. I have to focus on other things, so Oliver and his adventure will have to wait. But the ideas won’t stop so, notes. Always. Thoughts and ways to make it better, places to take the story I hadn’t considered and a way to stay connected while letting it rest.
Thanks to everyone who’s sort of been around for this crazy journey as I shouted into the void about this story. My favorite way to write is in a quiet coffee shop, entirely anonymous while still surrounded by activity. This journal (of sorts) has been my digital version of that. And it’s been incredibly comforting as I've felt my way through the depths of this story.

Visa and Mastercard may be getting a lot of calls about their adult content policies, but I just called in to PayPal and not only was there no wait, the customer service rep I got had never had one of these calls before (they were very nice about it.)
Don't overlook the online processors - even more than Visa and Mastercard they are the ones pressuring online retailers. PayPal is the one that's been pressuring Patreon over the last year or so.
I've had no luck reaching Stripe, all of the numbers people have dug up ring through as disconnected.
