The Tsyokon: The Rite of Barren Blood.
The Tsyokon are known as the last generation before the modern Barren Lands Na'vi, the Nenipuru. Their story is one of transformation, exile, and the blending of cultures that ultimately led to the formation of a new and unique Na'vi people.
The Origin of the Tsyokon
The Tsyokon were formed under the leadership of Tama Whakaae, a Forest Na'vi who was exiled from his clan after a scandalous affair. Tama had been caught sleeping with the daughter of his clan's Olo'eyktan, who was in an arranged mateship with the son of another clan's Olo'eyktan. This union was supposed to solidify peace between the two clans, but Tama's actions ruined this opportunity. As a result, he was banished by the Olo'eyktan and Tsahík of his former clan, who declared that he was unworthy of his position as an underling of the Tsahík and condemned him to live far from Eywa, in the harsh and unforgiving Barren Lands.
Before his exile, Tama committed one final act of defiance: he stole a seed from the spirit tree, one of the purest embodiments of Eywa's power. He took this stolen seed with him as he ventured into the Barren Lands, a symbol of his connection to Eywa, even as he was cast away from her light.
Tama’s Journey Through the Barren Lands
Unlike many exiles before him, who viewed the native inhabitants of the Barren Lands as savages, Tama approached them with humility and a desire to learn. His first encounter was with the Nenipay, a native group who had long lived in the Red Sands. Rather than being hostile, Tama sought to understand their ways, and in time, he gained their trust and learned how to survive in this harsh environment.
As Tama continued his journey through the Barren Lands, he encountered other exiles and outsiders. Instead of leaving them to their fates, he brought them together, forming a new tribe. This tribe, made up of people from many different backgrounds, followed Tama as he led them through the Barren Lands in search of a place to call home.
When they crossed the Txaya Manu mountains into the Golden Sands, Tama again proved his worth by demonstrating to the Nenirim people that his tribe meant no harm. The Nenirim, who were wary of outsiders, eventually accepted Tama and his tribe after seeing their genuine desire to find peace and a new home.
The Formation of the Blue Sands
One day, as Tama's tribe was traveling through the Barren Lands, they were caught in a fierce sandstorm. The storm separated the tribe, and in his despair, Tama believed that this was his fault. Overcome with guilt and sorrow, Tama fell to his knees and begged Eywa for forgiveness. He offered to take all of Eywa's punishment upon himself, sparing his tribe, and even went so far as to produce the stolen seed, ready to set it free.
In that moment of sincerity and humility, Eywa forgave Tama. As he wept, his tears grew into a rushing river, carving through the Golden Sands and exposing rich nutrients hidden deep within the earth. This river flowed until it reached the ocean, leaving behind a series of canyons known as Tsa' Uro Kairo. The sands around these canyons were transformed, taking on a blue hue from the clay unearthed by the river's passage.
Following the river's path, Tama found all of his scattered tribespeople, and they were reunited in the newly formed Blue Sands. It was here that Tama planted the stolen seed, which Eywa allowed to take root and grow into the first and only spirit tree of the Barren Lands, known as the Tree of Thorns.
The Legacy of the Tsyokon
The Tree of Thorns quickly became a place of pilgrimage for Na'vi from across the Barren Lands, including those from the Red and Golden Sands. For many, it was their first opportunity to connect with Eywa through a spirit tree, and it became a sacred site for celebration and remembrance.
Tama's tribe, along with the Nenipay and Nenirim who chose to stay in the Blue Sands, became the ancestors of the Nenipuru. Over time, these people interbred, combining the physical traits of the forest Na'vi with those of the Barren Lands natives.
The Nenipuru, as they came to be known, are distinct in their appearance and build:
- (made by @nin3kyuu )
Physical Appearance: They are taller and more muscular than their Red and Golden Sands counterparts, reflecting the strength needed to survive in the Barren Lands.
- Skin Color and Patterns:Their skin takes on a muddied blue-gray hue, with patterns that echo the blue sands of their homeland.
- Eyes: Their eyes range in shades of green, blue, and gray, a blend of their diverse ancestry.
- Ears: Their ears are smaller, a trait inherited from their forest Na'vi ancestors, adapted to the harsh conditions of the Barren Lands.
Now, the Nenipuru live scattered across the Blue Sands, forming large tribes that occasionally gather at the Tree of Thorns. There, they celebrate their heritage and remember the sacrifices of their ancestors, especially Tama Whakaae, whose journey and redemption led to the creation of their unique way of life.
Fashion of the Tsyokon Generation
The Tsyokon, ancestors of the modern Barren Lands Na'vi, the Nenipuru, had a rich and diverse fashion culture, reflecting both their heritage and the unique environment of the Blue Sands. With the reduced presence of predators in this region, they enjoyed the freedom to explore more elaborate clothing and jewelry, allowing them to express their individuality and status within their evolving society
Clothing
Cloaks and Wrappings
- The Tsyokon retained the traditional cloaks and wrappings made from plant fibers and animal hides. However, in the Blue Sands, these garments became more ornate, featuring intricate designs inspired by the natural patterns and hues of the environment.
- Cloaks were often dyed using pigments derived from the clay and minerals of the Blue Sands, resulting in garments with deep blue, indigo, and gray tones that mirrored the colors of their surroundings.
Robes:
- The Tsyokon developed robes made from woven plant fibers. These garments were lightweight and breathable, designed to protect against the harsh desert sun while providing ease of movement.
Leggings and Trousers:
- To protect their legs from the sharp sands and rocky terrain, the Tsyokon wore leggings or trousers made from durable materials such as treated animal hides or thick plant fibers.
- These garments were often decorated with beaded patterns or bone accents that signified the wearer’s tribe or personal achievements, adding a personal touch to their attire.
Footwear:
- While some Tsyokon preferred to remain barefoot to maintain a connection with the earth, others wore sandals or boots made from soft leather or plant fibers. These shoes were designed for comfort and durability, suitable for long treks across the desert.
- Sandals were often adorned with simple bone or stone decorations, while boots might feature more intricate designs and protective elements for navigating rough terrain.
Jewelry
Bone and Stone Adornments:
- Jewelry in Tsyokon culture was both a form of self-expression and a symbol of status. Common materials included bones from hunted animals and stones from the Blue Sands, carved into beads, pendants, and intricate pieces worn as necklaces, bracelets, and anklets.
- Bone chest pieces were particularly significant, often worn by warriors and hunters to display their strength and prowess. These pieces sometimes included glass beads or small, polished stones, adding a touch of color without being too flashy.
Hair Adornments:
- Given the importance of hair in Tsyokon culture, hair adornments were particularly elaborate. Songcords, which had become a significant form of personal expression, were intricately woven into the hair along with beads, small bones, and stone charms.
- Hairpins and combs made from bone or stone were also common, often carved with symbols of the wearer’s tribe or personal totems, further enhancing their connection to their ancestry.
Ear and Facial Jewelry:
- Although the Tsyokon had smaller ears due to their forest Na'vi ancestry, ear jewelry was still common. Simple bone or stone earrings were worn by both men and women, sometimes with small beads or feathers attached for decoration.
- Facial jewelry, such as nose rings or bone studs, was less common but occasionally seen among higher-status or more adventurous members of the tribe. These pieces were usually small and understated, blending with the natural colors of the skin.
Beaded Accessories:
- Beads played a crucial role in Tsyokon jewelry, often made from polished stones, glass, or rare materials traded from other tribes. These beads were used to create necklaces, bracelets, and anklets, as well as to decorate clothing and hair.
- Beaded belts and sashes were also worn, serving both a practical and decorative purpose, often signifying rank or role within the tribe.
Cultural Significance
- Expression of Identity: The fashion of the Tsyokon was deeply tied to their sense of identity and place within their society. Clothing and jewelry were not just practical items but were imbued with meaning, reflecting the wearer’s personal history, achievements, and connection to the land.
- Ceremonial Garb: During important ceremonies, such as gatherings at the Tree of Thorns, the Tsyokon wore their most elaborate garments and jewelry. These pieces were often passed down through generations, each one carrying the stories and spirit of its previous owners.
- Practicality and Beauty: While the Tsyokon embraced more elaborate fashion due to the safety of the Blue Sands, their clothing and jewelry still retained a level of practicality. Every piece, whether simple or ornate, was designed to withstand the harsh desert environment while allowing the wearer to express their individuality.
The fashion of the Tsyokon generation was a reflection of their unique culture, blending the practical needs of desert life with the artistic expression of a people who had found a new home in the Blue Sands. These traditions would lay the foundation for the future fashion culture of their descendants, the Nenipuru.

"Mother and Father had told me never to enter the fog, never follow it to still waters, and never go in unwelcome by the moonlight. I had thought of their warnings and stories as jokes. To prove to them their beliefs were wrong, I had boldly entered the swamplands. I wanted to show them there was nothing, and I would arrive back to my homelands safe and in one piece. But I was foolish, for my footsteps froze in place, my lantern shaking in my paling knuckled palms as it stared at me. Its gaze was unwavering, its ghostly eyes staring at me, turning its long demonic face towards me. Its body was scaly and glowing. It almost looked beautiful... had I not seen its face and the rest of its body... the lights... the lights were so pretty I could not look away... could not move even as my body burned, as I felt the Great Mother urging me to flee... this creature's lights refused me too, overpowering the Mother as it neared. Its claws were sharp, its teeth sharper, and yet its lights were the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. As my lantern fell into the swamp's waters, its light was all I saw as my bones crackled through its maw. It had invited me to join it, to become part of it... damning me away from the Mother... and I welcomed it. The pain dulled and the lights glowed ever brighter. Who could resist this beautiful power?"

Hiya! Recently I've been trying my hand at creating some FanClans. They're based in a setting inspired by the Taal Volcano and lake region in my native Philippines. Super super excited over developing it but also a tiny bit nervous! Could you perhaps give some insight/tips on how you developed ClayClan? I'd be really grateful if you did 🥹 I'm a tiny bit overwhelmed and don't know where to start.
P.S: here are some cool photos of Taal+some extra info below bc I'm a nerd and can't help myself lol
Where's the volcano, you may ask? The answer to that is: it's the lake you see in the photos! Basically Taal erupted so much in prehistoric times that the rock collapsed inward+downward into the empty magma chambers, forming a bowl shape (otherwise known as a caldera). It's also got like, a fuckton of vents and craters that it also erupts out of too sometimes. She's funky and I like her!
tldr volcanoes and cats r pretty neat :3
WOAH that's so cool!!! :0 This is awesome, thanks so much for sharing! I loooove seeing unique fanClans, it's such a versatile prompt. And a caldera is a GREAT setting! What a pretty one, too!
As for advice... I've been making fancontent for Warriors for a decade now, so a lot of it just comes naturally. I'll explain how I made ClayClan then give some tips I find helpful! And thank you for asking, I'm really flattered :]
(Info + tips below the cut to keep this from being a huge text wall!)
ClayClan started as a worldbuilding project to support a story I was tossing around in my head. At the time, this story was unnamed and followed Minkpaw, a new apprentice who joins the Clan and unravels a mystery.
At this point I only knew it was set in a swamp. I like taking reference from National Parks, so I started searching for Parks with swamps, and after some googling I found out Arcadia National Park has a ton of wetlands! So I started compiling a species list. As I worked I gradually switched the model region from Arcadia to a general Maine wetland, as this was more appealing to me.
Once I had that together, I started working on ClayClan's culture. This was largely a matter of tossing ideas at the wall and seeing what stuck! I wanted there to be a new rank between warriors & deputy, so I gave them captains. I like exploring religions unique from canon's StarClan, so I gave them the pantheon. I couldn't decide if I wanted their camp to be in the woods or by the lake, so I gave them two camps. Once I had down my base ideas, I just refined them until they felt complete, and since then I've been adding fun tidbits to my own liking.
As I worked, I realized that Pickerelstripe - a supporting character in the original story, as Minkpaw's mentor - was much more interesting to me than Minkpaw herself. So I decided to switch the story to her perspective, and it began developing into the Heart Rot that I love!
With this switch came a change in tone, as Heart Rot is much darker and more serious than my early plans. So I made some worldbuilding changes to fit! ClayClan's religion solidified, kepbon sculptures came into existence, that sort of thing. I'm still making tweaks here and there to tighten everything up.
Okay! Thanks for sticking with me through all of that, here's some random tips! :D
A good place to start is with location! I'm a total nerd about ecosystems, so I like to make my Clan territories as close to their real-world inspirations as possible. iNaturalist is a great reference for finding species in a specific area! Google is also your friend, and I've even used physical field guides in the past. It's a really fun process and enriches your knowledge of the real world - win-win!
Of course, not everyone's interested in this level of detail, and that's all good! I would, however, recommend having an idea of your Clan's territory and the types of animals/plants they regularly encounter. It can be a good springing-off point for worldbuilding! Take ClayClan's bobcat lore as an example, that came directly from wanting to do something cool with bobcats being in Maine.
Is this worldbuilding for a story? If so, what story are you trying to tell? Try and focus on worldbuilding that will affect the plot and see where it leads from there. For example, if your story focuses on family ties, you can explore how your fanClan views family!
Does your inspiration region have any interesting history? If so, you could try and tie it into your Clan's mythos! For example, the setting you've got makes me really curious about how your Clan views the caldera, and all its vents & craters. Do they believe the caldera has always been there? Do they have some lore about the ancient volcano? How do they rationalize the vents? There's lots to explore!
What do you want to see expanded on in Clan culture? The rank system, naming, religion, social structure, etc? Go ahead and change them to your liking, then see how that impacts the world! This is your Clan, after all, play with it how you'd like.
Focus on what's interesting to you! At the end of the day, this is your project, and you should enjoy working on it. If something doesn't interest you like it used to, you can take a break from it and find a different focus, or toss that part entirely and start over. Do what makes you happy!
I hope this is helpful! Sorry for rambling haha. Thank you so much for sharing your new Clan, I wish you the best of luck with developing it :] If you end up sharing any more on Tumblr feel free to send it to me, I'd love to see what you come up with! Have a great day/night!

Liskarak Generation - The Red Sand Era
Historical Context & The Legend of Lytta
The Liskarak generation, also known as the Red Sand Era, marks a significant and transformative period in the history of the Barren Lands Na'vi. This era is deeply intertwined with the legend of Lytta, a powerful figure whose actions shaped the future of her people.
The Legend of Lytta:
Lytta was a formidable and respected leader, not of a large clan but of a small, tightly-knit tribe that wandered the vast and desolate Barren Lands. Her tribe lived in relative peace, adapting to the harsh environment and developing a deep bond with the land and Eywa. However, this peace was shattered when outsiders—banished Na'vi and invaders from distant regions—entered the Barren Lands, bringing violence and destruction in their wake. In the ensuing conflict, Lytta’s entire tribe was slaughtered.
Consumed by grief and a burning desire for vengeance, Lytta turned to Eywa, the Great Mother, pleading for justice. Eywa, angered by the desecration of the sacred Barren Lands and the bloodshed of her children, unleashed her fury. The ground quaked, and volcanic mountains erupted, spewing molten lava and ash across the landscape. The once golden sands were transformed into a deep, ominous red, forever stained by the blood of those who had perished.
Lytta, empowered by Eywa’s wrath, led a merciless campaign against the invaders. She used the volatile volcanic terrain to her advantage, driving the outsiders from the Barren Lands. The red sands became a lasting symbol of this warning, a reminder to all who entered that these lands were sacred and that any who dared to trespass would pay with their lives.
The Dormant Mountains: Txaya Manu beginnings
In the aftermath of this cataclysmic event, the volcanic region eventually cooled, and the once-active volcanoes settled into a low mountain range, now dormant but still brimming with latent energy. The jagged peaks and rugged terrain stood as a testament to Eywa’s power and Lytta’s vengeance. The red sands surrounding these mountains became a sacred area, where the Nenipay and their descendants would come to honor Lytta’s memory and the blood spilled in defense of their land.
Evolutionary Traits of the Liskarak:
(made by @nin3kyuu )
The Liskarak, direct descendants of the Evorak and ancestors of the Nenipay, evolved to survive and thrive in the newly altered environment of the Barren Lands during this era.
Skin Tone & Markings
- The Liskarak developed a darker blend of grey and blue skin tones, which provided camouflage against the volcanic landscape and the red sands.
- Their snake-like markings, inherited from their Evorak ancestors, began to reflect the red and orange hues of the sands, further aiding in their camouflage.
Physical Build:
- The Liskarak were more muscular than their ancestors, a necessity for navigating the rugged volcanic terrain and for survival in the harsh conditions of the Barren Lands.
- Despite their muscular build, they retained the ability to store fat and nutrients in their bodies, particularly in their thickened tails, which could sustain them during periods of scarcity.
Eyes:
- Their eyes evolved into shades of red, orange, and amber, which enhanced their night vision and allowed them to see clearly in the dim, ash-filled light of the volcanic landscape.
Ears:
- The Liskarak developed longer, more sensitive ears, an adaptation that allowed them to detect subtle sounds in the otherwise silent environment, such as the shifting sands or the approach of predators.
Resistance to Heat:
- Their skin became thicker and more resistant to the intense heat near the volcanic region, protecting them from burns and the abrasive nature of the red sands.
The Emergence of the Nenipay:
As the Liskarak settled into this new era, they encountered a group of Na'vi from deep forest regions. These outsiders, ancestors of the modern Night Na'vi, ( @choclodox ) had been displaced from their homes due to a forest war. Seeking refuge and a new way of life, they found themselves in the Barren Lands and began to interbreed with the Liskarak.
This interbreeding led to the emergence of the Nenipay, a group that retained the fiery spirit and adaptations of the Liskarak while also incorporating traits from the forest-dwelling ancestors. The Nenipay exhibited a unique blend of characteristics, making them well-suited to survive and thrive in the challenging environment of the Barren Lands.
Skin Tone & Markings:
- The Nenipay’s skin tone became a darker grey-blue, a blend of the Liskarak’s volcanic adaptations and the deep forest heritage of their new ancestors.
- Their markings, while still reflecting the red hues of the sands, began to show subtle variations, including patterns that echoed the darker, shadowy tones of the forest.
Eyes:
- The Nenipay’s eyes continued to reflect the fiery tones of their Liskarak ancestors but also included deeper, more shadowy hues, linking them closely to the Night Na'vi. ( @choclodox)
Ears:
- The Nenipay inherited the Liskarak’s long, sensitive ears, which, combined with their forest ancestry, made them highly attuned to the subtle sounds of their environment, crucial for survival in the silent, deadly landscape.
Physical Build:
- The Nenipay retained the muscular build of the Liskarak, essential for survival in the harsh environment. Their bodies were capable of storing fat and nutrients, particularly in their thickened tails, which could sustain them during periods of scarcity.
Cultural Impact:
- The Nenipay, now closely related to the Night Na'vi, ( @choclodox ) became the inhabitants of the red sands, upholding the legacy of Lytta and ensuring that the Barren Lands remained sacred and protected. Their culture was deeply influenced by the lessons of the past, valuing strength, resilience, and the sanctity of their land.
Migration and Divergence:
- While some Nenipay remained in the Barren Lands, becoming part of the bloodline that would lead to the modern-day Nenipay, others chose to leave, seeking new homes across the deserts. This migration contributed to the genetic diversity of other Barren Lands Na'vi clans and ensured the survival of their unique traits.
Relationship with the Night Na'vi, @choclodox
- The Nenipay’s close genetic bloodlines to the Night Na'vi are a significant aspect of their identity, blending the fierce, protective nature of the Barren Lands with the mysterious and elusive qualities of the Night Na'vi.
This generation, shaped by the legend of Lytta and the emergence of the Nenipay, represents a crucial moment in the evolution of the Barren Lands Na'vi. It is a story of survival, adaptation, and the enduring spirit of a people who learned to thrive in one of Pandora’s most unforgiving environments.
Liskarak Fashion: Adapting to the Red Sand Era
During the Red Sand Era, the Liskarak developed a distinctive style of clothing and adornments, perfectly suited to the harsh conditions of the Barren Lands. Their attire was both functional and symbolic, designed to help them survive in the red sands while reflecting their deep connection to the land.
Materials and Resources
- Leather and Hides: The Liskarak utilized the hides of large desert creatures they hunted to create durable and protective garments. These hides were treated and tanned using natural materials like volcanic ash and minerals, making them tough and resistant to the harsh environment of the red sands.
- Red Clay and Volcanic Ash Staining: It was common practice among the Liskarak to stain their cloaks and wraps with red clay and volcanic ash from the nearby mountain range. This not only provided additional camouflage against the red sands but also created a visual connection to their environment, blending them seamlessly into the landscape.
- Bone and Glass Bead Adornments: Jewelry and protective gear were made from the bones of the creatures they hunted, often combined with glass beads crafted from volcanic sand. These pieces, such as chest armor and arm bands, were practical and served as a testament to their hunting prowess.
Clothing Styles
- Protective Cloaks: The Liskarak wore long, flowing cloaks made from treated animal hides. These cloaks provided essential protection from the abrasive winds and intense sunlight of the red sands. Stained with red clay and ash, the cloaks helped them blend into the environment, offering both physical and visual protection.
- Layered Wraps: The Liskarak favored layered wraps around their arms, legs, and torsos. These wraps were crafted from treated leather and hides, providing insulation against both the heat of the day and the cool of the night. The wraps could be adjusted for comfort and practicality, depending on the conditions.
- Tail Sheaths: Given the Liskarak’s thickened tails, which stored fat and nutrients, they developed protective tail sheaths made from durable hides. These sheaths safeguarded their tails from the harsh conditions of the red sands and were often adorned with bone and beadwork that reflected their connection to the land.
Footwear
- Barefoot or Minimalist Footwear: The Liskarak often went barefoot, their feet toughened by the rough terrain of the red sands. When footwear was necessary, they used simple, minimalist designs made from leather, just enough to protect their soles from sharp rocks or the occasional heat. These were more practical than decorative, prioritizing function over form.
Adornments and Symbols
- Bone Armor and Jewelry: The Liskarak crafted chest pieces, arm guards, and other protective gear from the bones of the animals they hunted. These bone pieces were not flashy but were often combined with small glass beads, made from volcanic sand, adding subtle decoration that did not compromise their stealth or practicality.
- Markings: The Liskarak enhanced their natural snake-like markings with bold, painted designs using ash and red ochre. These markings followed their natural patterns, making them appear more formidable and helping them blend even more effectively with their environment. These bold patterns were particularly used in times of conflict or hunting.
Cultural and Environmental Adaptations
- Camouflage and Survival: The fashion of the Liskarak was primarily focused on survival in the harsh red sands. Their clothing and adornments were designed to help them navigate and blend into the desert environment, ensuring they could thrive in one of Pandora’s most unforgiving regions.
- Mountain Range Shift: With the volcanic activity in the region simmering down, the Liskarak shifted their primary living areas to the expansive red sands rather than the now-dormant mountain range. Their fashion adapted accordingly, prioritizing protection from the elements and efficient use of available resources, such as bones and hides.
The Significance of Songcords in Liskarak Culture & Modern Times.
Songcords have always been an integral part of Na'vi culture across Pandora, serving as physical manifestations of a Na'vi's life story, experiences, and spiritual connections. For the Liskarak, particularly during their era in Barren Lands History, songcords took on even greater significance due to the harsh and unforgiving environment they inhabited.
The Shift from Pouches to Hair
Protection Against the Elements:
- The Barren Lands are known for enduring brutal sandstorms, where strong winds can easily tear loose items from a Na'vi's body, leaving them lost in the endless sands. Initially, songcords were carried in pouches, but as the frequency and intensity of these storms became more apparent, the Liskarak realized the need for a more secure method of carrying these precious items.
- By weaving songcords into their hair, the Liskarak ensured that these important pieces of their identity were always close and protected. Hair provided a natural, secure location that could withstand the violent winds and prevent the cords from being lost to the desert.
Security During Conflict:
- The Liskarak, particularly during this generational era, often faced threats from outsiders and invaders. In the chaos of battle, losing a pouch containing one's songcords was not uncommon. This was not only a personal loss but also a spiritual one, as the cords held deep meaning and connection to a Na'vi's life journey.
- Weaving songcords into their hair reduced the risk of them being lost during such encounters. This practice allowed the Liskarak to focus on defending their territory and surviving without the added worry of misplacing their songcords.
Hair as a Form of Expression
Personalization and Camouflage:
- In the harsh environment of the Barren Lands, survival often depended on effective camouflage. The Liskarak had to blend in with their surroundings to evade predators and other dangers. While clothing and accessories were kept functional and subdued to avoid drawing attention, hair became an area where individuality and personal expression could flourish without compromising survival.
- Hair was one of the few aspects of their appearance that each Liskarak could personalize. The way they style their hair, the length, and the inclusion of unique adornments like songcords became a form of silent expression. It allowed them to showcase their identity, heritage, and personal stories while maintaining their necessary camouflage.
Songcords as Extensions of Identity:
- By incorporating songcords into their hair, the Liskarak found a way to intertwine their personal history with their physical appearance. This practice turned their hair into a living, evolving tapestry of their experiences and memories, something that could be proudly displayed and easily accessed.
- The presence of songcords in their hair became a symbol of resilience and identity, a way for each individual to carry their past with them at all times. It was also a sign of respect to their ancestors and their connection to Eywa, as these cords often included elements that honored important events, relationships, and spiritual milestones.
For the Liskarak, the decision to weave their songcords into their hair was both practical and symbolic. It provided protection against the harsh elements and the dangers of their environment while also allowing for a form of personal expression in a culture where survival often required blending in. The songcords, intertwined with their hair, became more than just records of their life journeys—they became an integral part of their identity, visible to all and inseparable from the individual. This practice reinforced the importance of songcords in Liskarak culture, highlighting their role as both personal and spiritual artifacts, and was also quickly integrated to the other inhabitants of the Barren Lands biomes and desert.
This also brought a connection to all biomes, and far away clans that had blood mixed with The Barren Land Natives.
Red Sands Region & Txaya Manu - New Animals
The transformation of the Barren Lands into the Red Sands region and the formation of the Txaya Manu mountain range brought about significant changes in the ecosystem. New species emerged, and some of the Evorak-era creatures adapted to the harsher, more volatile environment. Here are the animals that now inhabit these regions:
Red Sands Region:

Syuratov (Lava Crab)
- Description:A large, heavily armored crab with a dark, volcanic rock-like shell. Its pincers are strong enough to crush stone, and it has numerous legs that allow it to traverse the rocky terrain.
- Adaptations: The Lava Crab is able to absorb and store heat from the sun and the ground, which it uses to regulate its body temperature in the cool mountain environment. Its tough shell provides protection against predators and the harsh environment.
- Behavior: These crabs are scavengers, feeding on anything they can find, from plant matter to carrion. They are also known to hunt small creatures that venture too close. Lava Crabs are often found near hot springs or geothermal vents, where they can soak in the warmth.
Tsi'anmaya (Magma Weaver Spider)
- Description: A large spider with an ash-colored body and legs tipped with bright red, glowing patches. The Tsi'anmaya spins webs that shimmer with a molten, glass-like quality, which it uses to trap prey.
- Adaptations: The Tsi'anmaya can withstand high temperatures, allowing it to live in the crevices of dormant volcanoes and near geothermal vents. Its venom is highly toxic, capable of paralyzing even large prey.
- Behavior: The Tsi'anmaya is a patient predator, waiting for days or even weeks for prey to stumble into its web. It is highly territorial and will fiercely defend its nest against intruders.
Txekeyatan (Ash Hawk)
- Description: A medium-sized bird of prey with ash-gray feathers and piercing red eyes. The Ash Hawk has a sharp, hooked beak and strong talons for gripping and tearing its prey.
- Adaptations: The Ash Hawk’s feathers are resistant to the abrasive ash that sometimes falls in the mountains, and its eyes are adapted to see in low light conditions, perfect for hunting at dawn and dusk.
- Behavior: Ash Hawks are solitary hunters, known for their swift, silent flight. They prey on small mammals and birds, using their keen eyesight to spot prey from great distances. They nest in the craggy cliffs of Txaya Manu, where they raise their young in relative safety.

These new and adapted animals of the Red Sands and Txaya Manu regions reflect the harsh, unforgiving nature of the environment. They have evolved unique traits to survive the extreme conditions, making the Red Sands and the mountains a place of both beauty and danger. Like the Evorak period, not many of these animals will stay within modern times eathier going extinct or evolving into something new.
Red Sands Biome & Txaya Manu - New Plants
The harsh conditions of the Red Sands biome and the Txaya Manu mountain range have led to the evolution of resilient and adaptive plant life. These plants have developed unique traits to survive the arid, nutrient-poor soils, extreme temperatures, and sporadic water availability.
Red Sands Biome:
Tsyeylok (Bloodroot Cactus)
- Description: A small, bulbous cactus with thick, segmented stems that are dark red, almost blood-colored. The surface is covered in tiny, sharp spines that glisten in the sunlight.
- Adaptations: The Bloodroot Cactus stores water in its fleshy stems, which can sustain it through long periods of drought. Its red coloration helps it absorb and retain heat during the cool desert nights. The cactus flowers at night, producing large, red blossoms that attract nocturnal pollinators like the Red Sands Humming Lizard.
- Uses: The sap of the Bloodroot Cactus is highly valued for its medicinal properties, especially as an antiseptic. The cactus is also an important source of water for desert-dwelling Na’vi and animals.
Txurré (Sandspike Grass)
- Description: A tough, wiry grass that grows in dense clumps, with long, narrow blades that are a deep orange-red in color. The tips of the blades are sharp and barbed, resembling spikes.
- Adaptations: Sandspike Grass is incredibly drought-resistant, with deep roots that tap into underground water sources. Its sharp blades deter herbivores from grazing, and the grass spreads through runners, allowing it to cover large areas quickly.
- Uses: The Na’vi use Sandspike Grass to weave durable mats, ropes, and baskets. The sharp blades can also be used as makeshift needles or for defensive purposes.
Veyri’tan (Ashbloom Shrub)
- Description: A hardy shrub with gnarled, woody stems and dark, charcoal-colored leaves. The plant produces small, vibrant red flowers that bloom after rare desert rains.
- Adaptations: The Ashbloom Shrub has a thick, waxy coating on its leaves to minimize water loss. Its roots are shallow but spread wide, allowing it to quickly absorb moisture from light rains or dew. The red flowers attract pollinators and are a signal that the plant is healthy and flourishing.
- Uses: The flowers of the Ashbloom Shrub can be brewed into a calming tea, and its woody branches are often used as firewood by the Na’vi. The shrub also plays an important role in preventing soil erosion in the Red Sands.
Krxen (Flame Barrel)
Description: A large, barrel-shaped cactus with a thick, ribbed body covered in long, hooked spines. The cactus is a deep crimson color, which gives it its name.
Adaptations:The Flame Barrel is a water-storing plant that swells after rains and shrinks during dry periods. Its spines provide shade to its surface, reducing water loss, and protect it from herbivores. The cactus blooms with bright yellow flowers, which are pollinated by nocturnal animals.
- Uses: The Na’vi harvest the water stored within the Flame Barrel during droughts. The flesh of the cactus can also be consumed, though it is extremely bitter.
Tawna'watx (Firevine)
- Description: A creeping vine with thick, fleshy leaves that are a bright, fiery red. The vine produces small, black fruits that are highly toxic if ingested without proper preparation.
- Adaptations: The Firevine is a survivor in the harshest conditions, often growing over rocks and even other plants to reach sunlight. Its leaves are coated in a protective, waxy substance that prevents water loss and reflects intense sunlight.
- Uses: The fruits of the Firevine are used by the Na’vi to create potent poisons for hunting. When processed correctly, small amounts of the fruit can be used in medicinal practices, particularly as a painkiller.
Txaya Manu (Low Mountain Range):
Frawa’tur (Mountain Tundra Moss)
- Description: A thick, spongy moss that covers large swathes of the mountain floor. The moss is a deep green, almost black, and retains moisture well, making it a vital resource in the dry mountain environment.
- Adaptations: The Mountain Tundra Moss is capable of surviving in freezing temperatures and can go dormant for long periods when water is scarce. Its ability to store moisture helps to sustain other plants and animals in the area.
- Uses: The Na’vi use this moss as insulation in their shelters and as bedding. It also has medicinal properties, particularly for treating burns and rashes.
Txeytolka (Ashbark Tree)
- Description: A small, twisted tree with thick, gray bark that resembles ash. The leaves are dark green and leathery, and the tree produces small, bitter nuts.
- Adaptations: The Ashbark Tree is highly resistant to the harsh winds and ashfall in the mountains. Its bark is fire-resistant, a remnant of its evolution during the volcanic activity in the region. The tree's roots are deep and tap into underground water sources, allowing it to survive in the rocky terrain.
- Uses: The Na’vi use the wood of the Ashbark Tree for carving tools and weapons, as it is both durable and lightweight. The nuts can be processed into a paste that is rich in nutrients and serves as a food source during lean times.
Tsa’mina (Lava Fern)
- Description: A hardy fern with fronds that are dark red at the base and gradually fade to black at the tips. The fern grows in crevices near geothermal vents and hot springs.
- Adaptations: The Lava Fern thrives in the warm, mineral-rich soils found near geothermal activity. Its roots are adapted to extract minerals from the soil, which are stored in its fronds and give them their unique coloration.
- Uses: The Na’vi harvest the fronds of the Lava Fern for their medicinal properties, particularly in treatments for muscle pain and fatigue. The plant is also used in rituals and ceremonies, as its striking appearance is considered a symbol of resilience.
Kxur’ta (Ashflower)
- Description: A low-growing plant with broad, silver-gray leaves that blend into the ash-covered ground. The plant produces small, pale blue flowers that emit a faint, sweet fragrance.
- Adaptations: The Ashflower’s leaves are coated in fine, hair-like structures that help it trap moisture from the air. Its flowers are frost-resistant and can bloom in cold conditions, making it one of the few plants to bloom year-round in the mountains.
- Uses: The flowers of the Ashflower are used in perfumes and are considered a delicacy by the Na’vi, who often include them in ceremonial offerings. The plant itself is also used to create a soothing balm for irritated skin.
Txeyri’kan (Volcanic Lantern)
-Description: A bioluminescent plant with thick, waxy leaves that are a deep violet in color. The plant produces large, bulbous flowers that glow with a soft, yellow light.
- Adaptations: The Volcanic Lantern is adapted to grow in the nutrient-poor, rocky soils of the mountains. Its bioluminescence is thought to attract nocturnal pollinators and may also play a role in repelling certain predators.
- Uses: The glowing flowers of the Volcanic Lantern are used as natural light sources by the Na’vi, who plant them near their homes and along pathways. The plant is also associated with spiritual practices and is used in rituals to honor Eywa.
---
These plants, with their unique adaptations and uses, contribute to the survival of both the Na'vi and the animals that inhabit the Red Sands biome and the Txaya Manu mountain range. They are integral to the delicate balance of life in these harsh, unforgiving environments. Like the previous plantlife in the Evorak era, not many of these plants will be the same in modern times, either going extinct or evolving into different species.

Impact of Meteor Strikes on the Marshlands and Jungle
Tragedy
The Mire'lok would experience a great Tragedy when meteorites came crashing down from the skies plaguing the Marshlands and Jungle with exploding meteorite's damaging and forever changing their homelands.
1. Jungle Transformation
Impact and Immediate Effects:
- Meteor Strikes: Upon impact, the meteorites caused massive fires and shockwaves, decimating the dense jungle. The initial explosions uprooted trees, shattered the canopy, and sent ash and debris into the air.
- Destruction: The high temperatures from the impacts ignited widespread fires that burned through the rich vegetation and forest floor, turning vibrant, green jungles into a wasteland of charred trees and smoldering ruins.
Long-Term Changes:
- Dead Forest: Over time, the once-lush jungle transformed into a bleak, dead forest. The surviving trees, scorched and stripped of their foliage, stood as stark, skeletal remnants. These trees became brittle and eventually fell, their remains turning into a crumbling layer of ash and decay.
- Ash and Dust: The intense fires and the subsequent erosion spread ash and soot across the land. The soil, once rich in nutrients, became a dry, ashen layer. The frequent winds carried fine particles across the landscape, creating vast fields of dust and forming a barren, sandy terrain.
- Ecological Collapse: The loss of flora led to the collapse of the jungle’s complex ecosystem. Without plant life to sustain them, many animal species perished, and the once vibrant jungle turned into a desolate, sandy wasteland, characterized by the skeletal remains of trees and patches of ash.
2. Marshland Transformation
Impact and Immediate Effects:
- Meteor Strikes: The meteorites impacted the marshlands with similar devastation, creating large craters and causing violent shockwaves. The initial impacts flooded the marshlands with molten rock and debris, killing many aquatic and semi-aquatic species.
- Contamination: The meteorites released toxic substances into the environment, contaminating the water and soil. The once-pristine waters of the marshlands became polluted with harmful chemicals and heavy metals.
Long-Term Changes:
- Desiccation: The impacts and subsequent contamination led to the drying up of the marshlands. The once-waterlogged terrain, rich with plant and animal life, turned into expansive fields of dust and ash. The remaining water sources evaporated or were tainted beyond recovery.
- Formation of Desert: Over time, the marshland transitioned into a vast, sandy desert. The once-moist, fertile grounds became arid, with persistent dust storms reshaping the landscape. The marshes' iconic reeds and water plants were replaced by barren stretches of sand and scattered ash.
- Ecological Collapse: The extinction of many marshland species left the ecosystem in ruins. The terrain became inhospitable, and the environmental changes contributed to the formation of a desert landscape with minimal remaining life.
3. Mirelok Distinctions
Division and Migration:
- Travel to Dusty Lands: Some Mirelok, adapted to the harsh, dry conditions, migrated towards the newly formed sandy desert. These Mirelok had to evolve to survive in the arid environment, developing traits to cope with the extreme heat and lack of water.
- Adaptation to Deserts: The Mirelok in these regions adapted to the vast, dusty expanses, learning to find scarce resources and shelter amidst the sand. They became resilient to the harsh, desolate conditions of their new home.
Movement to Contaminated Bogs:
Other Mirelok sought refuge in the remaining bogs and swamps, which were heavily contaminated by the meteor strikes. These Mirelok adapted to the polluted environments, developing resistance to toxins and evolving to survive in the toxic, unstable conditions.
Adaptation and Survival:
- toxic Adaptations: Mirelok in the contaminated bogs evolved to handle the toxic substances in the water and soil. They developed specialized mechanisms to filter toxins and adapt to the altered chemical makeup of their habitat.
- Desert Adaptations: Mirelok in the desert evolved traits suited for survival in the arid, sandy landscape. They became adept at finding food and water in the harsh conditions, using their adaptations to thrive despite the challenging environment.
In summary, the meteor impacts caused catastrophic changes to both the jungle and marshlands. The jungle turned into a dead forest of withered trees and ash, while the marshlands became a vast desert of dust and sand. The Mirelok adapted to their new environments, with some finding refuge in the desert and others enduring the toxic bogs.

Whenua one puru- land of blue sands
Abstract
The Whenua One Puru, or the Land of Blue Sands, is a unique ecological and cultural region on Pandora, characterized by its strikingly blue-hued sands and distinctive Na'vi inhabitants. These Na'vi, descendants of banished forest Na'vi, exhibit a blend of physical traits and cultural practices derived from their mixed heritage and adaptation to the barren landscapes. This account covers the origins, adaptations, and social structures of the Blue Sands Na'vi, emphasizing their distinctiveness from other barren land Na'vi tribes.
Introduction
Pandora's diverse ecosystems have given rise to various Na'vi subgroups, each adapted to their specific environments. Among these, the Blue Sands Na'vi of the Whenua One Puru presents a compelling case of ecological and cultural adaptation. Their origins, physical and cultural adaptations to the blue sands environment, and social organization contrast markedly with other barren land Na'vi.
Origins and Evolution
The Blue Sands Na'vi are believed to be descendants of banished forest Na'vi who interbred with native barren lands Na'vi. Their journey likely began from the red sands, through the golden sands, culminating in their settlement in the blue sands. Over generations, this migration and interbreeding resulted in a population whose physical appearance and behaviors were well-suited to the unique blue sands environment.
.
Physical Adaptations
The Blue Sands Na'vi display several distinctive physical traits:
Coloration and Markings, Unlike the vibrant colors of forest Na'vi, the Blue Sands Na'vi exhibit duller hues that blend seamlessly with their surroundings. Their markings are elongated and broken, resembling snake-like patterns, a trait possibly developed for better camouflage in the blue sands.
Morphological Changes Adaptations, to the barren environment include thicker tails for balance on shifting sands, higher placed and wider ears for enhanced auditory perception, and elongated canine teeth for defensive purposes. Despite these changes, they retain the lean and slim body shape characteristic of forest Na'vi.
Cultural Adaptations
The Blue Sands Na'vi maintain unique cultural practices influenced by their mixed heritage:
Clan Structure: Unlike the solitary or small family groups of red and golden sands Na'vi, the Blue Sands Na'vi live in small clans or tribes. This clan mentality is a remnant of their forest Na'vi ancestors, who practiced strong community bonds.
Resource Utilization and Trade: Some clans are nomadic, traveling across the blue sands to gather resources and trade with other tribes, including those from the golden sands. Others remain stationary to protect and care for their sacred spirit tree.
Spiritual Practices: Central to Blue Sands Na'vi culture is the spirit tree, brought by a legendary banished Na'vi who became a revered protector. This tree serves as a spiritual and cultural focal point, uniting the tribes in their reverence and care for it.
Discussion
The unique blend of physical and cultural traits of the Blue Sands Na'vi highlights the adaptive potential of the Na'vi species. Their evolution from banished forest dwellers to integrated inhabitants of the blue sands showcases a remarkable journey of resilience and adaptation. The retention of clan structures in an otherwise solitary environment points to the enduring influence of their forest ancestry.
Conclusion
The Blue Sands Na'vi of the Whenua One Puru represent a fascinating example of adaptation and cultural evolution. Their distinctive appearance, physical adaptations, and unique social structures set them apart from other Na'vi groups on Pandora. Further research into their interactions with other barren land tribes and their ecological impacts on the blue sands environment could provide deeper insights into the adaptive strategies of the Na'vi.
Nga whenua onepu toto- Red sands
Introduction
The Red Sands Na'vi inhabit a unique and challenging environment known as The Barren Lands. This region is characterized by its red sand landscapes, which are geographically situated near the outskirts of dense forest biomes inhabited by the Forest Na'vi. The red sands are separated from the neighboring golden sands by a low mountain ridge, with an obscure valley that is difficult for outsiders to access.
Geography and Environment
The red sand landscape is notably harsh and arid. Sandstorms are frequent, contributing to the burial of remains and making navigation and survival particularly challenging. The proximity to the decayed, husk-like forests at the fringes of more robust forest biomes further emphasizes the desolate nature of this region.
Demographics and Social Structure
The Red Sands Na'vi exhibit distinct physical characteristics, including darker grey skin tones with bright red markings. These adaptations provide effective camouflage within their environment. Unlike their Forest counterparts, the Red Sands Na'vi do not have strong clan structures. It is uncommon to find large groups; instead, solitary living is the norm.
When groups do form, they are typically small and familial, often consisting of siblings who have chosen to remain together for mutual support and survival. These family units may expand to include mates and offspring, forming a rudimentary tribal structure aimed at enhancing the survival prospects of their young.
Risks and Challenges
Living in the Red Sands presents numerous risks:
Resource Scarcity: The primary challenge is the scarcity of resources, which makes sustaining larger groups difficult. Starvation is a constant threat, and in extreme cases, those unable to survive may be abandoned or given a herbal concoction to end their suffering humanely.
Conflict: The isolation provided by the mountain ridge does not completely safeguard the Red Sands Na'vi from external threats. Banished Na'vi, who wander these lands, often pose a threat, competing for limited resources. These encounters can lead to violence, resulting in injury or death, particularly among vulnerable group members such as children and mates.
Nomadic Lifestyle
Due to the harshness of their environment, many Red Sands Na'vi adopt a nomadic lifestyle. They continuously move between oases in search of water and food. Mate selection among the Red Sands Na'vi is heavily influenced by their belief in Eywa, the guiding spirit. Typically, males seek out strong, capable females who can navigate the treacherous landscape. In turn, males contribute by hunting and protecting any offspring, thus supporting the family unit's survival.
Conclusion
The Red Sands Na'vi exemplify a unique adaptation to one of the most challenging environments on Pandora. Their solitary or small-group lifestyles, distinct physical adaptations, and the constant movement required for survival highlight the resilience and resourcefulness necessary to thrive in The Barren Lands. Further research into their survival strategies, social structures, and interactions with other Na'vi groups could provide deeper insights into the adaptive mechanisms of humanoid species in extreme environments.
Apxa of the srane sands- Golden sands
Introduction
The Golden Sands Na'vi inhabit the central region of The Barren Lands, a landscape characterized by its extensive golden sand deserts. This region is positioned between the red sands to the west and the blue sands to the east. The Golden Sands area is the largest and harshest of the desert landscapes in The Barren Lands, presenting extreme survival challenges.
Geography and Environment
The Golden Sands landscape endures the most severe conditions among the desert regions. Frequent and intense sandstorms, extreme temperature fluctuations—with freezing nights and scorching days—pose significant threats to survival. Additionally, the risk of dehydration and being buried alive by sandstorms is notably higher here than in the red or blue sands.
Demographics and Social Structure
Golden Sands Na'vi exhibit minimal clan structures, primarily due to the harshness of their environment. When temporary clans do form, they quickly dissolve, reverting to single nomadic couples or solitary individuals. The solitary nature of the Golden Sands Na'vi makes finding mates particularly challenging and rare.
The Golden Sands Na'vi hold a belief in Eywa guiding mates to them, similar to other Na'vi groups. However, females of this subspecies are highly selective in choosing mates. If a female deems a guided male unworthy, it is not uncommon for her to take his life to avoid being followed or hunted later. This extreme selectivity underscores the high stakes of survival in such an unforgiving environment.
The scarcity of oases in the Golden Sands increases the risk of dehydration and starvation. Opportunities for finding shade are rare, further compounding the survival challenges.
Risks and Challenges
The Golden Sands Na'vi face several critical risks:
Sandstorms and Predators: The frequent sandstorms not only pose a physical threat but also provide cover for predators, increasing the danger during these events.
Temperature Extremes: The dramatic temperature swings between day and night add to the difficulty of survival, requiring constant adaptation.
Resource Scarcity: With oases few and far between, the chances of finding water and food are significantly reduced. The lack of shade also heightens the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Conclusion
The Golden Sands Na'vi represent the epitome of adaptation to extreme desert environments on Pandora. Their solitary lifestyles, strict mate selection processes, and resilience in the face of severe environmental challenges highlight their extraordinary survival strategies.

Rituals & Celebrations:
Fayluta Aungia- “Offering baskets” Is a flood sacrificed where they will twice a season would gather as much food and valuables and to large woven baskets that would float on top of the river's currents everyone in the pod/school is required except underlings to add something into the baskets and they would have a grand celebration as they send the baskets down the river to the ocean To appease the raging sea so that it will not have a storm to be so harsh that it would devour the lands and rivers. They do this to prevent losing another home.
Ritual Tsengkem- If two wanted to be mates but question or had doubts of their compatibility then both may find Bones of an animal that reminded them of their partner and take them to the monarch or matriarch who will carve cantations into the Bones before biting them Together and tossing them into calm waters of The River is both Bones sink Then their mate ship would not be well as one would drag The Other Down into the depth of The River and both would Drown in sorrows and unhappiness.
if the bones float it would mean that their makeship will be Proper us and both will be fulfilled and happy they both will be each other's raft keeping each other afloat where they will breathe and the precious love between them these bones will later be carved into jewelry to signify their were meant to be destined mates.
If the bones Bob up and down as in war to float or sink it would mean that they are not ready for such a big step. Both should continue to learn about each other and themselves so that in the end they will not drown and resentment for each other.
Rolkxu Awnga- “Rage cleanses.” If one spirit is tempered with sudden unknown rage bitterest or hatred then they must be cleansed from Evil spirits formed from the river of tears lost souls of their ancestors who are confused and angry at the lost of loved ones and their once beloved home the monarch In matriarch we'll Bind herbs carve stones and bones to the irritable ones arms and legs and tail covering their face with a mask made of feathers and fishbones the air 21 is then laid in the water floating on their backs as all the older school/pod members around them and chant sacred spells to unbind the angry latched on spirit from their pod member appeasing the lost spirit to feel the aura of a family and community wants more to find peace to Go to Eywa’s Arms leaving their tortured member Alone and not to fill the rivers with any Memory of the raging Oceans waters and storms.

Ivonara: Deep Ocean Na'vi
“Current Swimmers”
Origin
Pulled out of Ewyas heartbeat (cave systems through tidal pool ecosystems) and into the deep ocean, slowly drowning in rough deep currents. Ewya took mercy on them and gave them her blessing, enabling them to adapt to the deep ocean's open waters.
Physical Traits
- Nose: Small, flat, and thin to prevent water from entering the lungs.
- Chest: Wider for maximum lung capacity, allowing them to hold air for hours before needing to surface.
- Ears: Butterfly-like but fused, thin, and fin-like with small flaps to open/close ear drums and pick up vibrations.
- Vocal Cords: Advanced for complex echolocation, producing clattering noises to long wails for communication.
- Sign Language: Early forms of Na'vi sign language are apparent.
-
Skin: From dark blues and purples to muddied blues, teals, and greens. Markings are bright hues and unorganized patterns. Bioluminescent patterns can change colors like octopi for communication, mating, and predator deterrence.
- Eyes: Wider with reflective irises and slit pupils for better sight underwater. A protective layer shields from harmful sea bacteria
- Limbs: Arms and legs are flatter with fin-like structures for agility in water.
- Tails: Dual tails becoming wider with fin-like structures, lined with small bumps to detect temperature changes and vibrations.
- Upper Lip and Chin:Small bumps aid in feeling vibrations and temperatures.
- Queue:Fused into a thick flexible appendage, splitting at the end like a fishtail or snake's tongue.
(Made by @nin3kyuu )
Bonds
Platonic Bonds:
- Vital for survival and companionship in open waters and pods.
- Involved in hunting and gathering.
- Sexual bonds are rarer; only pod leaders are allowed to reproduce.
Mate Bonds:
- Lifetime bonds that transcend platonic bonds and focus on reproduction.
- Mates form new pods and their oldest children have priority for leadership.
- Platonic bonds can mate once to strengthen pod relationships.
Clan Structures: Pods
The Ivonara form small groups or pods, similar to dolphins and whales.
Pod Hierarchy
- Matriarch/Monarch: Combines roles of Tsahík and Olo'eyktan, responsible for navigation, guiding the pod through migration patterns, current changes, and weather.
- Brooder: Mate of the Matriarch/Monarch, responsible for childbearing and raising their mate's children and grandchildren. Manages the Offspring Netting for nurturing and protecting young.
- Raising Children & Responsibilities: The Brooder creates an Offspring Netting, a floating sack that carries offspring pods. As the pods hatch, the net transforms into a netting that the young cling to. The Brooder stays near the surface to teach the young to swim. As they grow, the young assist in gathering and other pod responsibilities. The Brooder decides the next leader and selects mates for the oldest children during migration.
- Fishers/Hunters:Hunt and fish for the pod using ambush techniques similar to dolphins, creating shocking vibrations with their tails to paralyze prey.
- Gatherers: Collect resources for the pod, including shells, fauna, small crustaceans, and rocks for tools and netting.
- Healers: Use gathered resources to make medicines and salves for the pod, promoting health and treating sickness.
Reproduction
- Only the Matriarch/Monarch and their mate, and their oldest children, are allowed to reproduce.
- Younger members may leave to form their own pods to reproduce.
- This prevents inbreeding and limits the number of mouths to feed.
Evolution
- Ivonara travels the open ocean, taking temporary homes in reefs and coastal areas.
- Some discover rivers and evolve to survive in freshwater and marshlands, leading to new evolutionary chains.
Future Evolutionary Chains:
- Kalivu:Next evolutionary step of the Sea & Ocean Na'vi species. (Nines Fanclan @nin3kyuu )
Rivonyk: Next evolutionary step towards freshwater Na'vi species. (Mine @villainsimpqueen)
Important Animals & Plants

LAST SEA MOTHER.
(Made by @nin3kyuu )
story about oc below more line.
They had learned to thrive in the open waters, building themselves, creating relationships with other pods. She had been chosen as her pod’s monarch many years ago, and she had lived through so much. But never in the fifty years of life had she seen a storm such as this one take the sea.
Her pod screamed and wailed, their calls drowned out by crashing waves, harsh spraying winds, and rain, forcing them down from the surface deeper into raging currents that were starting to rip her pod members to shreds. She screamed as she was slammed into coral rocks, slicing up and down her back, arms, and legs. She could hear the vibrations of her mate’s call not far in the underwater rocks. She pushed herself, making her way to him, finding him entangled and ensnared by the offspring net that held his and her unhatched children and grandchildren. Most of the egg pods were destroyed, crushed by her mate, or sliced from the sharp rocky and coral beds. She struggled to free him, her mate of over thirty years, the father of many children and great-grandfather to a few generations. He was her priority.
Save him and try to escape the harsh currents that even now slammed them deeper and deeper into the rocks.
Yet his life was never his priority, but their children, their legacy, their new blood. When she had snatched open the net to try to untangle it from him and many pods were swept away by the harsh currents, slammed and destroyed, he had grabbed on, holding it for dear life before pushing it into her arms. She had struggled to let it go, her cries and wails vibrating in front of her mate’s drowning face, and he only clicked faintly back before using the last of his life to kick her away from him above the rocks where the harsh current would drag her away and hopefully away from the rocks.
Her wails were carried away by the rushing waves and riptides, her arms tightly holding the pod her mate had desperately forced her to hold to her chest, curling her body around it as to protect it with the last dying wishes of her mate. Her body slammed into ocean debris and knocked corals, her body dragged around as if the storm was a child throwing a tantrum and kept snatching her up and throwing her repeatedly. Her head slammed on something, causing ringing to overtake, and her consciousness began to fade.
She awoke feeling her face digging into harshness, her skin aflame by warm relentless sunlight, her ears ringing as waves softly crashed alongside half her body into the beach she had drifted onto. She moved her head up from the sand, one eye squinted as sand gathered around it, the other seeing spots of light as she looked around, an island. Her sights moved in front of her to the pod left. She moved, scrambling, grabbing it and pulling it to her chest.
It was all she had left.
She held it tightly as she processed the night before, tears building and leaving, joining the salty sand that stuck over her body and around her. She cried, letting out wails and shrills of her pain and grief, the loss of her pod, the loss of her older children and grandchildren.
Her mate.
She wept as the beach comforted her with soothing waves gently crashing along the sand and tickling her hand as if they did not come from the very sea that brought her this pain. As her tears started to become silent, her ears heard a soft popping noise, her eyes moving to her lap where she had numbly held the egg pod for the entirety of her grief, a small little leg kicking out, before another one.
Entirely being born the wrong way, a dry chuckle was pushed out as she moved a hand to grab one of the little feet and pull out the child before it had drowned.
"Seems as if the storm has confused you little one-" Her singing of clicks and wails died as she had the child fully free from its pod.
Her little one cried as he inhaled his first breaths, his fins much smaller than her own, queue long and narrow unlike her own and no longer had the split ends to it as hers. His one tail curled to his side with little fins, his ears much smaller with little fin fans instead of wide and proud like her own. She had seen changes in their children, even her own grandchildren but nothing like this. She feared her son was sick, born wrong, and blamed it on the bad storms that had come across the ocean as too late.
She yet held him to her, more salty tears falling as she held her son so dearly to her, begging the mother, begging that she would not lose her only surviving child, not after she and her mate's last moments together were to secure his life. She held the child, weeping as his little cries died down, his little finned fingers messing with the lì'ukxi necklace around her neck, the only other piece she had of her pod besides him.
She could not stay on the beach weeping for long, she knew until her ill son's last breaths she needed to provide for him. A struggle for her as her mate had been the brooder, the one to tend to the little ones while she had guided the pod, the hunters being the ones to bring back food, and now she was alone.
She did not trust the waters, after taking everything from her she would not trust it with her ill son, so instead she stood up and walked the beaches, hoping to find small tidal pools to pull soft Lumvä'ang to pull apart into small chunks for her little one to eat. Each step felt like agony as she moved, carrying her child protectively.
It's been so long since she had walked on shores.
But every coo of her little son made her keep moving, leaving footprints in the burning sand. Her finned ears spread and closed at sounds carried over winds, noises that had her moving faster, her eyes burned from reflections of white sandy dunes until colorations that stuck out enraptured them and pushed her forwards. She had hoped it was other pods, hoped it might have been her pod, any one of the members or oldest children and she would not feel so alone, but as she rounded dunes she was met with a sight she was not expecting.
A gathering of a group of young ones, the oldest ones alert and turning, staring at her with wide eyes as they shielded the youngest of the group. The eldest of this group could not be any older than fifteen, a young hunter at best but no leader of a pod. While younger ones huddled around the oldest of the children, the oldest children seemed relieved to see her immediately approaching, words and sounds clicking off their tongues and movement in their hands.
‘What should we do?!’
‘Do you know where our pods are?’
‘Help us find our parents please!’
‘Help us’
‘Help us’
She let out a shrill that was pitched, her throat vibrating each upturn of the noise until all had settled, her skin flashing with patterns that demanded silence. Her eyes moved over them all, from the eldest who looked like her grandchildren, to the younger that varied in age until the younglings which couldn’t be more than a month’s time before her own little one. Her eyes stopped on them, seeing that they too looked nothing like the other children, smaller fin structures, tinier ears, one long and narrow queue, and one tail that was flat and broad with smaller fins. Their hands had little webbing in them as did their arm fins.
Her eyes moved to the horizon where she could see the storm on the other side of the beach fleeing and the sun peaking above its clouds to reach its peak. Realization dawned on her that the storm had meant to take her life as well as all these children’s parents. The ocean did not see her generation as the ones to thrive in its waters any longer but the little one that was cooing in her arms. She clutched him tighter, thanking the mother for not allowing the ocean to take her life, so that her son did not have to be alone and confused like all these children were. She thanked the mother for sparing her so that someone could lead these children in surviving for they all were far too young to be alone.
She made directions, the older children following it as a hunter's line. She moved the group away from the waters and inland where they would rest. The next morning they would explore and find food enough for all to eat and she would teach the youngest how to make netting. When the new pod she had found trusted to her was settled, she took her son from an older child, carrying him away to a cliff that overlooked the island. She stood at the top, her son a babbling happy thing as his fin-tipped fingers reached for her necklace once again. She looked at him as if he was her entire world, and he was.
She could see his father in him, but he reminded her so much of herself, finding the strength to survive in such a harsh world. Her throat convulsed as small soft clicks moved in her throat.
"Kavu."
Yes, Kavu would suit you well, my strong little son.
Her son’s lilac eyes moved from the necklace and up to her own, his mouth stretching in a smile as noises moved through it. The tiniest little clicks and pitches, one day they would form sounds of words and communication like her generation would not believe had they survived. For now, they were small babbles that babies make as they take in the world around them.
Merydäín smiled before looking back into her son's eyes that reflected the horizon, the skies painted with so many new colors than ever before, and her heart ached as she knew she was the only one left of her kind, and she had such little time to teach him all she knew before her life would be taken by the oceans waters as well.

Origin:
Great storms had attacked the vast oceans and the Rivonyk ancestors the Ivonara were slammed around by the storm's rage slammed and pulled under angry waves losing their final breath others swirled and whirlpools gasping out their last air bubbles the ones who had survived the raging waters were thrown from the sea in onto land their tears grew and pulled at their feet the lost of loved ones and being unwelcome to the only home they knew cause great grief amongst them and they solved for many days great Eva used their tears to form new waters ones that would always be safe for them and this forms the rivers of Pandora Where the rivonyk grew to thrive forming new pods and schools.

Mire'lok (Marsh land Na'vi)
Origins:
Were descendants of the Rivonyk who traveled more inland streamed finding a humid jungle and continued onward until the jungle opened up to healthy lushful marshlands. There they adapted to blend into the marshlands and jungle becoming their own people, which became the Mire’lok. They formed many tribes within the marshlands and jungle making both their vast home.
Physical traits:
-Elong limbs such as arms and legs, tail and queues, they become more thin like, having more muscle build than fat.

Barren Lands Lore dump 5?
Not sure if this is a lore dump, But here is all the fanart i have gotten on Barren Lamds Na'vi.
This being Ocs made for The Y/n part of my fanfic "The Barren Lands." and some others.
Barren Land Art Made by @nin3kyuu
Plus her sona Ni'nätya (sea Na'vi) and Her and my Ocs Sälsípey & Antiphonus daughter Kalina (Last image.) Which are Golden Sands.
Antiphonus is a mix of Red sands and Golden sands Na'vi But took after Golden Sand traits since he lived in the golden Sands all his life.
Though If he went to the Red sands his markings would start turning a light redish hue.
Barren Lands Ocs from @choclodox
The first one is a great example for a Red Sands Barrens Na'vi and the others are her Oc Vira! Golden Sands.
More:
I unfortunately do not remember which artists drew these two, but i have kept them saved. I know they were to take place Of Y/n in my fanfic "The Barren Lands." So these two would be paet of the Golden Sands biome.
I believe them to be works of
@belos-simp69 and @xliexx-blog1
For these were shared on my older account before i deleted it to make this mewer account.
---
These are great examples of Barren Land Na'vi.
As i said before this is an open Fanclan/ Na'vi species. I welcome and encourage for anyone who was instrested or wanted too to make a Barrens land Na'vi to do so!
Please tag me in your works so that others can find the Barren Land Na'vi lore and so that i can reblog your oc!
