Queekish Ideas 3
the phonology has undergone a partial overhaul. Got rid of the Uvular and Pharyngeal consonants, added pre-nasalized stops and nasal releases, got rid of a consonant slot for the onset and coda clusters so now the forms are SCRVVVRCS, and reformed the orthography into something more satisfying to spell with. updates will come soon.
pragmatically speaking, all morphology listed below happens in relation to the highest-ranking individual to the skaven. that just means that a skaven slave will use the morphemes based on the positioning around his master and the master to whomever he or she is intimidated by.
Verbs and nouns are not concerned with tense or number respectively but spatial orientation and distance. the latter is marked on the nouns and the former the verbs.
Nouns have distance modifiers in relation to which referent is of the highest rank. distance gradates between on, near, far, and very far. on is the citation form of the noun and is unmarked. Near prefixes a reduplication of the consonants and vowels of the onset and nucleus. far suffixes the reduplicated vowel(s) and consonant(s) of the nucleus and coda of the root. Very far both prefixes and suffixes the consonants and vowels) of the root, onset and nucleus for the prefix, nucleus and coda for the suffix. both prefixes and suffixes reduplicate all the consonants and vowels of their respective segments. If a root has more than one syllable, the prefix takes the onset and coda of the initial syllable while the suffix takes the nucleus and coda of the final syllable.
Verbs mark for direction "charging" towards and "fleeing" away from the highest-ranking individual. there is a three-by-three distinction based on the action happening left, center, or right and above, level, or below the HRI. all forms use infixes before or after the root vowel. charging forms use glottal consonants while fleeing forms use labiodental ones. Left infixes a vowel-consonant before the root vowel, right a consonant-vowel after it, or central which circum-infixes both before and after it. above infixes use plosive consonants, level uses affricates, and below fricatives. if the root has more than one syllable, then the infixes go before the initial syllable's vowel and/or after the final syllable's vowel. examples will soon be made.
Adjectives are the simplest. each adjective has a normal or intense form. normal is the citation form, thus, unmarked. intense is formed by complete reduplication of the root.
"Hybrid case" particles which agree with the intransitive subject, transitive subject, and transitive object of the sentence. this agreement allows them to be placed basically anywhere in the sentence, whether at the end as an afterthought or after the word it agrees with.
This is all I got for now. feedback is appreciated. till next time... ;).

Taran Language Idea 2
Tense is defined by the modified length of the vowel and polarity by a similar method of voicing.
basically, shortening or lengthening while voicing/devoicing all vowels of the root will determine if the tense is past, present, or future and the polarity as positive, dubious, or negative respectively.

Technically there are only twenty consonants in this list. but the aspirated ones bulk up those numbers.
the way it works is that the diacritic indicates whether to aspirate before, after, or on both sides of the consonant.
Graves: Pre-aspirated.
Acutes: plain-aspirated.
Carons: circum-aspirated.
easy really.
/c/ is the palatal stop while /g/ is the voiced variant.
/ṣ/ is the palato-alveolar fricative while /ẓ/ is the voiced equivalent. (I promise, the dot went right under the Z in my word doc. I don't know what to say.)
/ṇ/ is the palatal nasal.
/n̤/ is the velar nasal.
/h h̤/ and /ẖ/ are glottal fricatives and are considered special cases. in which they are marked as short, long, and overlong.
the rest can more-or-less be read and pronounced as in english.

So uh... Immediately after Wrestle Kingdom, the big show that brings in both new and lapsed NJPW fans, and Wrestle Dynasty, the AEW crossover show that was intended to bring new overseas fans to NJPW... New Japan management decided to take the only commentary staff member who speaks any Japanese at all off commentary for two months? So the only remaining English language commentator will just not have any clue what anybody is saying during the entire show? Right when a large influx of new English speaking fans is expected? And they're doing all this just as Kidani, who owns NJPW's parent company, was complaining to Tokyo Sports about how NJPW isn't getting enough overseas fans? Have I got that right?

It’s genuinely so fucking sad to me that I can never learn Gallifreyan because no one actually made it in a way that isn’t just random symbols, we don’t even get to hear any Gallifreyan words

the more I think about it and rewatch his scenes, the more I cannot help but realize that Colin is coded as a neurodivergent character. At least, I can very clearly see how Luke Newton, a neurodivergent actor, is playing Colin as a neurodivergent character
a special interest in Greek mythology? in traveling? neurodivergent
taking people's word at face value without 'reading between the lines'? neurodivergent
not being able to read Penelope's feelings regardless of how 'obvious' they are? neurodivergent
brain constantly bouncing around from one idea to the next (as in the books)? neurodivergent
not saying the 'right thing' and admitting to having to rehearse important conversations? neurodivergent
all that rejection sensitivity and regret he had well over a year after his engagement blew up? neurodivergent
masking in public? the whole 'charming facade'? neurodivergent
the man straight up STIMS, I mean how often do we see him fidgeting or playing with something? he has an oral fixation like no one's business, always eating, rubbing his mouth, licking his lips
I just can't unsee it
and, one day, i hope our fandom is going to be ready to recognize how many of the things we've unjustly called him an 'idiot' or 'stupid' for is actually just him existing with a neurodivergent brain and how hurtful that can come across to us neurodivergent peeps who identify with him

Arknights: Taran language idea
The nation of Tara is one inhabited by dragon people and is a fictional game counterpart to Ireland.
I originally had the idea to take the Irish language and give it the Car Slam treatment, thus turning it into a Semitic root system. This idea came to me because in one of my way earlier worldbuilding projects, I had the same idea for a similar system for my dragon languages.
However, that idea didn't pan out. But I recently came across some inspiration. Coming across @macy-does-lang-stuff I saw this post, what inspired me most was the use of tones and length to bulk up the vowel inventory.
So, I decided that Taran will also have vowel roots. And to bulk up my phonetic inventory for the language, I will use not only use tones and length of two-way and three-maybe-four-way distinctions respectively, but also a four way distinction in voicing as well. Thus, even if I stick with a low number of vowels, the phonetic distinctions in place should allow for quite a hefty sum of vocalic choices. This could become more apparent with a small consonant inventory.
This is all I got so far. Haven't figured out the rest of the grammar. But such is the fun of language construction.
Thank you for reading. Feedback is appreciated. Till next time... ;).

Phonotactics
#(C)/(C)V(V)(V)(C)/(C)#
Cs for consonants.
Vs for Vowels.
Vowels in the root always come in pairs
Vowels in the same nucleus have the same voicing.
No root can have more than one voiced/unvoiced vowel-pair.

Consonants Idea 1
consonants in Yan can be aspirated before, after, or on both sides. this is marked with a diacritic above or below said consonant. this is in conjunction with consonants being voiced or unvoiced.
for example:
plain: p b
pre-aspirated: p̀ b̗
post-aspirated: ṕ b̖
circum-aspirated: p̌ b̭
personally, it feels right for this language.
