Invisalign is an orthodontic alternative to the traditional metallic braces. They are removable and near invisible aligners which gradually straightens your teeth. Invisalign can be removed for eating, drinking, cleaning and flossing. Every Invisalign aligner is unique and is convenient, flexible, and most importantly, discreet. At your first visit, we create an impression by doing digital scans and customize a treatment plan for you. Our aligners are created on-site which reduces the wait time to start your treatment. A series of clear aligners are created to help straighten your teeth, stage by stage, and every 1-2 weeks, you will switch to a set of new aligners. Invisalign will help improve your bite, alignment and achieve a straight smile.

What Are Prophylactic Antibiotics and Do I Need Them?
Tumblr media
Whether you are a person who constantly obsesses over keeping everything clean, or you are a person who brushes regularly there will always be some bacteria which lies in your mouth. Bacteria is hard to get rid of completely, especially like a place in your mouth where your saliva holds most of what can make someone sick. Before you have certain procedures done for your oral health or even procedures which involve the removal of teeth, it is important that all the bacteria in your mouth has been almost fully removed, so there is o way to interfere with the opening on your gums. If any bacteria were to get into open cuts, this could result in infection or even problems in your cardiovascular system.
Prophylactic antibiotics have been used for many other uses which do not relate to the mount, this includes treatments for heart diseases, athrirtis and even chemeostretaments fr those who have had or who have cancer. It is a common antibiotic used by those who have diabetes, in order to remain in a state which is healthy for the body. This type of medication has had its changes over the years but still continues to benefit the health of those with heart conditions and even those who go through oral surgery or have any dental conditions of their own.
Prophylactic medication is often called premedication, something which is used on dental patients to prepare them before going into surgery. It is a common drug used to make sure that the mouth is entirely clean from bacteria, this way there is little or no risk of getting an infection after surgery. They are commonly used in surgeries which involve the opening of root canals or even the removal of teeth which would be common for wisdom tooth extractions.
These antibiotics are things which work to keep everyone safe, it is an antibiotic which can benefit your resourcery prices. It is important to keep your mouth clean and get rid of any bacteria which may interfere with the beneficiary roles of oral surgery. If you are looking for an affordable dentist, emergency dentist, or family dentist in Sarnia make sure to contact Kingsville Family Dental.

Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath was in question period Monday to take on Kathleen Wynne – calling the Liberals' recently announced dental scheme a hollow claim that won't help families see a dentist.
“Promising to give voters a $50 tax rebate at the end of the year isn't a dental plan,” said Horwath. Wynne released her small dental rebate after Horwath made a monumental promise with a dental plan that will cover every Ontarian – either through workplace benefits, or with their health card.
“The premier seems to think that children’s dental care costs $50 a year – because that’s how much is in the Liberal budget to look after kids’ teeth. I haven’t heard of many dentists offices that will clean a child’s teeth, do a checkup, X-rays, and maybe fill a cavity all for $50.”
Horwath has been travelling around the province, meeting with families who urgently need real coverage for dental expenses and medication costs.
“Last week I met Garry in Oshawa who told me about having to pull out his own tooth because he couldn’t afford the dental work. Worse than pulling his own tooth was having to leave the dentist office with his son, unable to afford a filling, knowing his child would have to wait in pain for months until he could afford it,” said Horwath.
“Jordan Dottori is studying to be a social worker in Sarnia. She wants to make Ontario a better place. She's lucky to have some dental coverage, but it's only $500 that she splits between her care and her son's care. Jordan can’t afford to have her abscessed tooth dealt with. She needs full dental coverage. Jordan's son needs full dental coverage.”
Horwath and the NDP's universal pharmacare and dental care for everyone plans would cover medication and dental care costs for all Ontarians, no matter their age or employment status.
“The premier doesn't actually have a plan to ensure children in Ontario can see a dentist. Doug Ford and the Conservatives would be even worse,” said Horwath.
“I believe in universal healthcare. I believe in pharmacare for everyone. I believe everyone should be able to see a dentist. The premier wants to pay for only half of a child's filling. Why doesn't the premier believe in health and dental care for everyone?”

Here Are The Best Qualities To Look For When Choosing A Family Dentist For Your Children
Tumblr media
Do you know that not all dentists like to see children in their practice? It is best to look for a dental clinic that emphasizes family dentistry.
Many dentists will refer your children to pediatric dental practice until they become very large. We recommend seeing your child at a general dentist as soon as their first tooth develops for the oral examination.
Location, location, location
The location of your family dental clinic is an important aspect in looking for the right one for you. You will probably like a clinic that is close to your home or your work or children's school. This means that including it in your appointments will not cause such trouble. Not only this, in a dental emergency, you will be able to visit your dental clinic on time.
Friendship
Young children are highly influential. This means that it is of utmost importance for the dentist to make their first experience positive. Many children who have early bad experiences with the dentist cause dental concerns and phobias. You will want to go to a family dentist who will make your child feel safe and be able to work with your child at their own pace. This will reduce your child's anxiety at the dentist and make you feel relaxed in the dental environment.

Hairline Tooth Fractures: What You Need To Know
Tumblr media
This is the perfect season to enjoy delicious foods and finish off with warm, tasty beverages. However, if you find yourself wincing in pain every time you chew, sip on a delicious drink or even going outside in the cold, a hairline tooth fracture may be the cause. Although the sharp pain may dissipate quickly, it always returns. If you think you may have a hairline tooth fracture, it is important to schedule an appointment at Slipacoff Dental sooner rather than later!
Learn about everything you need to know when it comes to hairline tooth fractures and what you can do to combat them below.
Hairline Tooth Fracture: Explained
The hairline tooth fracture is a small crack located right in the tooth. When not addressed, this fracture can lead to tooth loss and other oral health issues. There are a variety of different hairline tooth fracture cracks, including:
Craze Lines: These cracks are minuscule and appear in the tooth enamel. They do not trigger any pain or require any immediate treatment.
Vertical Crack: A vertical fracture runs vertically up and down the tooth. If this fracture does not go below the gum line and bone level, there is a high probability that the tooth can be saved. However, if the crack has extended under the gum line and bone level, the tooth will most likely need to be removed.
Split Tooth: A split tooth has a crack that separates the tooth into two separate components. When the fracture is extremely large, the tooth will most likely need to be extracted completely.
Fractured Cusp: Fractured cusp cracks often occur around a dental filling. They usually do not impact the tooth’s nerve, therefore, they do not cause a lot of pain.

Part I: Sarnia, Toronto
I’ll start off by saying Canada was not at all what I expected. I didn’t hear a single “eh” or “aboot”, didn’t see a single moose, and not everyone was as nice as I thought they would be.
I started my trip on a drive through Michigan to a town called Sarnia. The drive was miserable; while only an hour, I didn’t have a Dramamine and as a result I became very violently nauseous.
Sarnia was not what I expected at all. After settling into our hotel, we decided to grab a bite to eat. While my family was getting ready, I started my first interview with a real-life Canadian.
I’ll describe the receptionist at our hotel as “blissfully ignorant”; I guessed that she was in her 20s, she had black hair and a few tattoos. I wondered whether her crooked teeth represented the dental hygiene norm in Canada.
She was blissfully ignorant in the fact that she wasn’t very bright-- contrary to my preconceptions on Canadians. My leading question of “so; what’s it like living in Canada” was met with a blank stare and an “uh.. it’s okay I guess?” We chatted for a little about what Americans’ stereotypes of what Canada was like (she didn’t even know the plural word for ‘moose’) and what was happening in the world; this was a very one-sided conversation. “I don’t pay much attention to what’s going on in the world” she remarked. I feel that’s a luxury that we as americans don’t have (seeing as that our president is an absolute moron). My mother, now ready to go, asked her “where can we go to get dinner? Again, nothing of value from our receptionist friend.
It was like a ghost town in Sarnia; it was only about 7:45pm, but just about every restaurant we passed was closed for the evening. The town, which looked not impoverished a bit on the poorer side, was remarkably clean. We ended up eating at the hotel restaurant; the only place still open til 9. I asked the drinking age and our waitress said 19.
The next morning we boarded the train at about 6:10am. All of the signs were in French as well as English.
Five hours later, we arrived in Toronto. The first thing that I noticed in the Toronto train station was how many non-white people there were.
As bad as that sounds, it’s not prejudice-fueled; It was simply a shock coming from Mayonnaiseville, USA , to seeing such a culturally diverse city.
Oddly enough, throughout my entire journey I saw a great amount of people wearing turbans, hijabs, burkas, etc., but not a single one tried to commit an act of terror. Could it be that, contrary to the beliefs of the town that I live, arab people are not, in fact, inherently evil or have any intent to do harm? The world may never know.
It was a rainy day walking out of the train station to our cab. I could see the CN Tower looming over the station. “I really hope we get to see Drake” my brother whispered.
After settling into our hotel, we set out for the Aquarium. It was truly a sight to behold; parallel to the Shedd in Chicago. On the way I noticed more about the people; not only were there more minorities, but the white people that were there were much more eccentric than Clarkston; dyed hair, tattoos, vapes, etc. were all very prevalent in the young people of Toronto.
After the aquarium, we went to a sports bar for dinner. It was there I had my second interview with real-life Canadians; I’ll call them the “awkward sports couple”
A few minutes and some very awkward silence later I learned this:
- Hockey is the number one sport in Toronto
- Everyone watches the Maple Leafs. Everyone.
Later on that night, we went to a comedy club where I discovered that even outside of the United States, our Embarrassment in Chief was the punchline for a plethora of jokes and monologues. There, I met my last interviewees; the Friendly Lesbian Couple. We got along very well and I took away some very important points; It is common knowledge that when traveling abroad, Canadians are encouraged to wear canadian flags so as to not be mistaken for Americans. They told me that Toronto is an incredibly accepting and safe community for the LGBT+ community, and while it’s expensive, it is also a very good and enjoyable place to live.
