Okay so I'm sorry for word vomiting here but I've got this AU that I've been developing in my head for the past few weeks. I call it my Disney Crossover/House of Mouse/When I say everyone loves Yuu, I’m talking about the entire Disney animated multiverse AU.

(I’m going to be referring to Yuu as she/her because of my own pronouns)

Basically, Yuu ends up working at the House of Mouse every night for extra money because Crowley sucks. She travels through a magic mirror in Ramshackle. Everyone there loves her: the (human and animal) adults think of her as their daughter, the animals love her (she’s not a beast tamer for nothing), the kids constantly want to hang out with her and even the villains have a soft spot for her (mainly because she treats them like normal people and not as villains. She’s super kind and sweet to them even when they try to scare her). Somehow, they realise that they don’t really know who she is or how she got there or anything so they ask her about it and she’s like “it’s a long story I don’t want to explain the whole thing.”

So due to either Disney Magic™ or one of Professor Von Drake’s inventions, the entire Disney theatrical animated universe watch everything that’s happened to Yuu so far in Twisted Wonderland. So obviously this would lead to lots of questions and everything but that’s not what I want to talk about. Oh no. What I’m getting to is this:

Ship Wars.

Everyone sees how Yuu has got each and every boy at NRC wrapped around her little finger and she’s literally so dense and oblivious to how positively smitten and whipped they are for her so they play a little matchmaking. Obviously The Great Seven™ would want Yuu to get with their own Twisted versions. It was unprecedented. Normally every villain knows not to get on the bad side of the Mistress of all Evil but the second she’s like “she’s my future granddaughter, my Malleus has been courting him the day they met” WWIII breaks out.

The Heroes™ are at first like “why villains though?” before realising that the boys would rather chop off a limb before they would ever think about letting Yuu get anywhere near harm and they’re like “so for their wedding, I’m thinking…” Because what’s the biggest bragging right than having the beloved Yuu getting with someone that’s based on your story.

Listen, because I have ideas™ of villains trying to get their kid (yes, they see the boys as their kids, sue them) with Yuu and the heroes being like “Are you married? No. Move over.” Simba and Nala helping Leona with ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight 2.0’ whilst Scar and the hyenas scheme in the shadows (the hyenas love Ruggie by the way. He’s an honorary member of the cackle), Aladdin and Jasmine hardcore shipping Kalim with Yuu (Aladdin to the other princes “they rode on a magic carpet and had an elephant parade. Perfect first date material right there.”) whilst JamilYuu shippers Jafar and Iago seethe, Alice may not know much about relationships but she’s got an imagination, an older sister and sees how invested the White Rabbit, card soldiers and the Queen and King of Hearts are with RiddleYuu so she’s going to help. The Dwarves hate Vil. Snow White loves everyone. She just wants Yuu to be happy. Lovable himbo tries to get Idia and Yuu together but Meg just rolls her eyes and Hades yells at him for ruining his plans. Ariel and Eric see Azul, a mer who’s fallen in love with a human and they’re like “our time has come. Sebastian, get your voice ready.” and Ursula’s like “that might be the one good idea you two have ever had”. Maleficent has been MalleYuu Shipper No1 from the start (a title that Lilia had to give up to her after a one minute stare down). She already has a room prepared for the prefect for when she visits the Valley of Thorns. Aurora, Phillip and the three good fairies think that Malleus is a sweet boy and are rooting for him.

Of course, there will be ship wars.

And don’t get me started on the battles that the villainous henchmen/sidekicks get with each other. If I have motivation, I might write something for this AU but I have a bunch of headcanons and scenarios for it. Also, Yuu is an honorary Disney Princess. She gets to sit with them at their table and has a personal invite to visit their castles whenever she wants so that they can have some girl time together. (Mulan and Merida mainly want to teach her how to use weapons and are 100000% ready to hunt down any of the boys that try to mess with her).

Listen, I love everything about this. House of Mouse was one one my favorite cartoons as a kid so i'm all on board for this. (It is an affront that the series is not on Disney+, but at least its on Youtube.)

All i'm thinking of is the episode where Max has a date with Roxanne and everyone swears not to embarrass him, and then proceeds to embarrass with their well intentioned attempts to make it perfect. Like dedicated Sebastian's Kiss the girl performance and setting up a Lady and Tramp style meal for them. That, but with the NRC boy of the week.

Miss Yuu: I'm going to be bringing my friend Azul this Friday. When he heard about the club he was interested to check it out for ideas for his lounge.

The entire cast of the little mermaid:

There is not a speck of chill in that establishment. Sebastian's going to perform Kiss the Girl. Ariel and Eric get the bright idea to invite them to sit with them like a double date. Ursula and batting the other villains from interfering with a stick. It's a mess.

Rinse and repeat every other week with a different student.

Imagine Hades trying to teach Idia how to be a quick smooth talker to get Yuu to go out with him and its just failing miserably. Or Yuu just glaring at the Magic Mirror in the lobby.

Or ladies night at the House of Mouse, and all the princesses insist Yuu sit them and enjoy the show, and Minnie assures her she can take a break for a while. Then upon Clarabells suggestion in the episode, they do a bachelor auction, Only the Bachalors are Vil, Malleus, Leona and whoever else they could rope into it. Only all the princesses are bidding on their favorites and then giving the date to Yuu.

And like you said, everyone sort of adopts Yuu in their own way. But Goofy especially is going full dad mode for Yuu. Just comes to her defense at any moment like he does with Max and its very sweet.

Captured- Short fanfic thingy

The cold didn’t usually bother him, but something was different. Perhaps it was the damp, bleak stone walls that made up the dungeons, the thick iron bars coated with frost, the thick blanket of negativity that seemed woven into the very fabric of the AU…or the knowledge that no one was coming to save him.

Ink and Blue had taken one of the rare moments of peace in the multiverse to throw something called a “slumber party”, dragging the Swap bros’ ungodly amount of party supplies from their attic.

“Ink, you’re on decorating duty!” Blue had said, the tiny artist jumping into an exaggerated salute. “I’ll go pick up some snacks, and Dream…just get some rest, okay?” The Positivity guardian had blinked, startled at his friend’s request. “You’ve been working non-stop for the past week and a half! We can both tell you’re low on magic, no matter how much you try to hide it. Just-” Blue gently took hold of his shoulder, “just take care of yourself, okay? For us.”

But Dream, foolish as he was, had slipped away from the house while Ink wasn’t looking. He sensed a twinge of negative somewhere deep in the multiverse, portaling to said AU to take care of it. He would be back before they missed him! He just needed to help this one last person, he thought, striding confidently through the snow-- right into Nightmare’s trap.

And now, here Dream was, sitting in the freezing castle dungeon. His friends must have noticed he was gone by now…how long had it been? Hours? Days? Weeks? He couldn’t tell. His positivity levels had dropped to the point he was feeling physical effects, his bones shivering with fatigue and his insides rumbling at an embarrassing volume. Not that there was anyone around, though; his brother’s gang only came by for a few minutes, one at a time. Checking he was still there. He supposed it was also Nightmare’s way of giving him little scraps of emotion, just enough so he didn’t starve. No, that would be too boring a death, he thought bitterly. His brother would never let that happen.

He tilted his head back, leaning it against the unyielding wall. He should have at least told someone where he was going…his friends would have to search the entire multiverse before they found him. What was he going to do…?

Dream must have fallen asleep, because he woke up. Not in a pleasant way either- Nightmare’s aura had wreathed itself around his throat, choking him until his eyes were forced open. He now sat, leaning forward, glaring at his brother as he tried to regain his breath. That, and as he tried to not panic. Nightmare had brought his entire gang with him…whatever he was going to do, Dream had no doubt it would involve large amounts of pain and possibly some bloodshed on his end.

“Had a nice nap?” Nightmare cooed, tentacles curling in threatening contrast with his sickly-sweet tone. “I’m glad you find your living quarters so comfortable…”

The Positive Guardian was distracted by the presence of the others behind him. Four, not including his brother…their emotions weren’t positive by a long stretch, but at his current state, any emotions were better than none. What had been so important that his brother had risked Dream gaining power?

Nightmare seemed to realize this, too, as his expression and voice grew more serious. “Let’s get straight to business. We have good news and bad news for you, dear brother. I’ll start with the good news because you cherish your positivity so dearly…we’re letting you go.”

Dream blinked, unsure if he heard correctly. “What?”

“Wonderful, right? The power of mercy and friendship and all that…shit…”

The caged skeleton narrowed his eye sockets in suspicion. “And what’s the bad news?”

“Ah! The best part: you’re going to be working for me, now.”

Now Dream was really sure he was hearing things. He was so startled that he actually laughed. “You…you have to be joking?”

“Oh, but I’m not! Who better to help us plunge the multiverse into eternal darkness than the Light himself?”

Dream sputtered in disbelief. “But- I’d never-“

Tentacles ripped through solid metal like it was nothing but paper as Nightmare tore through them to seize his brother. Slimy appendages wrapped around Dream’s legs, arms, chest, body, and throat, filling his entire being with shivering cold. The dark twin dragged his brother inches from his own face, twisted smile replaced with a gaping maw.

“I have bent countless souls to my will, are you so arrogant to assume you’ll be different?” he hissed. Dream could do nothing but tremble with fear.

The Guardian was dropped on the floor unceremoniously, still shivering with a cold that pierced his very soul.

“Dust. I trust you to see to our guest,” Nightmare growled. “Make sure he doesn’t die and is in working shape to begin…training tomorrow. Other than that, do with him what you like.”

The tall skeleton nodded, seizing Dream with blue magic and dragging him down the hall as golden tears poured down the guardian’s face.

**Rocio's completely new story**:

(This is Rocio's only canonical Story since her old story doesn't count as canonical).

She, being the daughter of Kamydley and a human named: Étienne, was conceived with the purpose of bringing back the friendship between both races and returning peace and hope to the surface.

Kamydley sent Rocío to the surface to fulfill that.

When Rocío arrived at the surface she became human and named herself: Rocío.

She arrived at the epicenter of the war and saw two weak monster children and approached and healed them and those children hugged her... once the children left...a group of humans saw her and believed that she was a damn traitor for having cured the children and not killing them... they go to where Rocío is and approach her and attack her mercilessly killing her.

After that...those humans left but near where Rocío was.

Kamydley appears at that precise moment as she saw how those humans attacked and killed her...she arrives, turns human and approaches Rocio and fortunately and at that moment Rocio returns to life thanks to her determination...she looks at Rocio and tells her that she is very happy that she has returned to life and that she is now a 6-year-old girl (human age).

That's right...she came back to life and became a child but still maintains her real form and her powers.

And meanwhile...those humans observed Kamydley and believed that she was also a damn traitor and they run towards her...they arrive and approach her and prepare to attack Kamydley...Rocio reacts quickly and protects Kamydley and after that...the two teleport and then Kamydley thanks her for protecting her and tells her to go back home with her...but Rocio answers that she will not return home until she fulfills her mission, Kamydley tells Rocio that:

What you said is lovely and very good and also is very admirable and that is why I will let you fulfill your mission and that you will not return to be human until you achieve it.

Rocio looks at her mother with a happy and sweet smile and answers that she will fulfill her mission and her promise.

After that...Kamydley leaves and Rocio returns to the epicenter of the war to stop the war and after that continue with her mission but not before returning to her real form.

When she got there she managed to stop the war but despite that she failed to unite both races again or to return peace and hope to the surface.

After the war...the monsters were banished from the surface and locked underground by a magical barrier imposed by humans and Rocio, seeing that her mission was a complete failure...returned home.

By the way...the house or the place where Kamydley and Rocio live is heaven.

When they became human for the first time they decided to go to Ketteiville to live.

Four years later...

Now Rocio is 10 years old (human age) and she is very good at ballet and also obtained her only soul trait: Integrity.

(Despite obtaining that trait, part of the determination she had stayed within her soul).

She began to be interested in ballet at the age of 8 (human age) and since then she never stopped being interested and her interest grew and now ballet is her passion.

Years later...three children climbed Mount Ebott and disappeared.

Legends say that anyone who climbs that mountain never returns.

Months later...Rocio decides to climb Mount Ebott in the hopes of freeing the monsters and fulfilling her mission once and for all.

She climbs Mount Ebott and falls into an abyss and wakes up in the Ruins, deep underground.

However, her confrontation with Undyne in Waterfall ended with her death, but this time, her determination was not enough to bring her back to life.

Upon learning that Rocio climbed Mount Ebott and that she fell underground and died, Kamydley arrives at Mount Ebott and falls underground, once underground she becomes human and searches for Rocío but does not find her.

When she does not find her, she learns that Asgore had stored her soul in a soul container and teleports to the Hall of Souls.

Once there, Kamydley, using her immense power, revived her daughter by transferring part of her determination to her soul.

And to prevent Asgore from noticing that Rocío's soul was missing, he created an exact copy of Rocío's soul to put inside the container.

And currently...Rocío continues to fulfill her mission until I finally succeed.

Rocío is a symbol of integrity, purity, and kindness.

Despite the challenges she faces as a human, she maintains a strong sense of morality and justice.

Like her mother, she always seeks balance, peace, and compassion, but with a more human approach.

It was a quiet day in Gravesfield as Police Officer Darius Deamonne picked up his youngest son Collin from Kindergarten. Collin, also known as Colli, had a large birthmark that covered the left side of his adorable face.

The five year old boy also had beautiful red eyes and otherwordly fluffy lavender hair. Darius found him after his mother abandoned him shortly after giving birth to him. Colli was a absolute sweetheart! His heart was as pure as freshly fallen snow.

Colli had a big brother. Hunter, a very handsome yet very nerdy sixteen year old boy with silky blonde hair. Colli and Hunter loved and adored each other more than anything. Colli couldn't wait for Hunter to return from school.

There was one more family member. Darius' brother, Eberwolf. He only spoke in Esperanto. Despite him perfectly understanding english. Colli, Hunter and Darius could understand him just fine, though.

"My beautiful little Sunshine!" Hunter came home from school and immediately showered Colli with lots of love and affection. Colli was very tiny for his age. People often mistook him for a three year old boy. He was very smart, though.

He liked to help Hunter with his homework. Hunter's magenta eyes were filled with endless love and adoration as he placed soft and loving brotherly kisses all over his beloved little brother's adorable face.

Can you tell us more about that Elementale AU?

Sure! Again, the original concept is from @dreamseersystem although both @jumpybox and I have worked on this as well.

So the most basic part of Elementale is that all monsters have elemental magic in addition to their "usual" magic. Wind for Ruins, Snow/Ice for Snowdin, Water for Waterfall, Fire for Hotland, Earth/Metal for New Home. There is also light and dark powers as well, light belonging to the royal family and Gaster being the only one remaining with shadow abilities.

Elementale ended up in a verse themed around Japanese elements, and as such the nicknames for the different characters are Japanese words and names. Other unique traits are that every single monster in the underground remembers Resets, period. Hime, the Frisk of the AU, can use all five main elemental abilities, but only when in the underground. The resets have been different attempts to retain their powers when reaching the surface, which thankfully have not involved killing anyone.

Due to remembering resets, monsters do know they can actually reach the surface, but are willing to try to help Hime get what they desire. As such HOPE is fairly high for this AU and the population is thriving. Oja (Asgore) eventually moved on from his relationship with Kohi (Toriel) and fell for Usagi, an unusual bunny monster "herbalist" who's origins are unknown but not tied to the bunny monsters of Snowdin.

Kyo (Gaster) had incredibly selfish goals that led to him falling into the Core and being taken from his timeline. Kyo had fallen for an elemental (spirit able to control all elements, not Grillby) named Aleura and had Yuki (Sans) and Kumo (Papyrus) together. Aleura serves a mysterious goddess, and had children with Kyo for the sole purpose of creating more elementals to serve her goddess. When neither child appeared to show the powers she was looking for, she left.

Despite knowing Aleura did not love him, Kyo was absolutely obsessed with her. He became fixated on trying to reach her again, leading to the CORE incident and Kyo becoming lost to the MultiVoid (space between multiverses). Yuki feels abandoned by both parents and holds a lot of anger over this, Kumo wants love from either parent he lost before he was old enough to remember them.

In the Back of My Mind

Prompt “you lied to me”

It was too bright and your eyes hurt. A sickly sweet smell, like medicine, stung your nose. You don’t know where you are. You barely remember who you are.

You remember a name though. Fresh. He’s important to you, but you don’t know why. Their name alone comforts you somewhat. If you’re seriously hurt or lost (kidnapped?) they’ll find you, right?

As you trudge on, you start to feel an odd sensation, but the only way you can think to describe it is becoming less and less real. It’s like the brightly colored walls are taking you in.

You sit down for just a second, that turns into a minute. You can’t get back up. Eventually it all fades to the black of unconsciousness.

You awake to find you have no idea where you are. As you look at the snow covered ground, a couple of things come back to you.

Your name is Error, previously Geno, even more previously Sans. You are in Snowdin, where you used to live. You used to destroy AUS of the multiverse.

You have a very bad memory, and you had forgotten your time being Sans and Geno for a long time.

Your friend Fresh visited you in your antivoid when you wouldn’t even get up in the morning (metaphorically, as in reality there is no time in the antivoid). They are your closest friend. They’re a parasite that feeds on souls and can feel no emotion but fear. And that’s okay. You don’t really blame him for it or anything. He didn’t ask to be a parasite or feed on souls. And he really helped you when you were down. Still does, honestly.

Oh yeah, and your eyesight is garbage. Fresh always tells you to wear your glasses, but they kinda embarrass you. The glasses, not Fresh. You feel like you should be able to do it yourself. You only let Fresh help because there’s no keeping him out. And it probably gives them something to do, anyways. You doubt he has any hobbies besides scaring random people and collecting old junk.

You don’t remember how you got to Snowdin though. Or why you were in that strange bright room earlier. You’re definitely still missing some pieces, but hopefully those will come back to you.

Also, you notice Snowdin somehow feels…perfect? Usually when you visit an AU’s Snowdin, it always feel slightly off in a way that drives you insane (and makes you miss what you’ve lost) but this one just feels right to you. Everything is exactly the way you remember it last.

While sneaking along the path to your house, the peaceful sound of silence fills your ears. Despite no one at all being out on the way to your home, you aren’t feeling creeped out, despite what this is usually a sign of. You don’t smell any dust in the air though, only the sharp smell of pine.

You make it to your house, which looks lovely lit up by the colorful lights hung on it, and try the door knob. The door slides open and you walk in, using all your strength not to run.

You walk over to the couch and sink into it, enjoying the familiar comfort. You close your eyes for just a moment, reliving your old lifetime.

You awake with a start to realize you’ve fallen asleep. Despite that, you’re still pretty tired. You feel kinda of drained even though you haven’t really done anything that demanding. Strange.

You sleepily pad about the house, finding interest in the minor things like the chips being the exact brand and flavor you like, or the fact that Papyrus’s room is locked. On second look, it seems like the chips are just crumbs. Sort of disappointing, but it makes sense considering this world was so empty.

Still tired, you decide to get comfortable in the couch again and soon fade into sleep again.

When you wake up, you decide it’s time for you to go. The empty au is peaceful, but Fresh is probably getting worried about your absence. Also, it could be dangerous if he chose to wait for you in the antivoid. You freeze for a second, immobilized by the thought that your mistakes have ruined another person’s life yet again. But you try to clear the thought away. Fresh is smart, and you’ve warned him before that antivoid was dangerous alone. But still, you worry.

As you stand there on the soft carpet of your living room, you start to understand something terrible. You can’t leave. No matter how you try, your magic won’t pull up the exit to your antivoid. Now you’re really stressing.

Fresh will probably tear the multiverse apart looking for you though. And you’ll end up okay. You hope.

You sit back in the couch and cradle your arms against your chest. You feel exhausted, even though you were just asleep.

Strangely, you think you hear footsteps outside. But you’re pretty sure this au is empt-

“GREETINGS BROTHER! I HAVE ARRIVED HOME FROM MY IMPORTANT TASK OF RESTORING SNOWDIN’S PUZZLES. AND I HAVE BROUGHT GROCERIES!”

Oh my god. It’s him. You have to get out of here before he notices yo-

“WELL, ARE YOU JUST GOING TO SIT THERE, OR HELP ME OUT?” Papyrus inquires in your direction.

Is he talking to you? It can’t be possible, but you’re the only one here, and maybe this has a reasonable explanation? Maybe his brother was somehow also an error?lo

You gape at him for a couple more minutes before grabbing a bag of groceries and walking to the kitchen.

Alright, you can handle this… you’ll just help him out with the bags and then slip away to a different part if this world, and leave his real brother to explain.

As you open the fridge and deposit the chips from the bag, you ponder the surreal day you’ve been having. It’s been almost dreamlike in it’s bizarreness.

Later, you tell Papyrus you’re going to take a nap and walk out to waterfall. You keep going, letting your feet guide you. (Is that the saying.?) You run your hand along the familiar wall as until you reach a room. The telescope is just where you left it and sit against the wall. You’ll just have to wait until somebody finds you. You can’t go back to Papyrus now.

You hear crunching gravel coming closer to you and realize you had closed you eyes again. You open them to see the surprisingly welcome sight of absurdly saturated shoes, which of course belong to Fresh. You almost sigh aloud on relief. Now that he found you, you can go home.

You’re sure he knows a way. If it can find a way at into your Antivoid, it can probably get you out of here, right?

You want to say something but you don’t know what, and it seems he doesn’t either. You both stare at each other for a long moment as the silence stretches on, before Fresh finally breaks the silence with an awkward cough.

“Uh. Hey?” You attempt.

His face gives you the impression of a caged animal.

He just keeps staring.

Maybe more like a cat going to the vet, when you think more about it. His sunglasses are blank, and he looks genuinely upset. It’s hard to remind yourself that he isn’t really upset.

Finally, he breaks the silence with a weak “sup.” He’s not even capitalizing properly. It’s honestly kind of concerning.

“…um.” Your mind raced as you tried to figure out what to say. You were never really the best at comforting people, you just never knew what to say.

“You okay?” You try to start with a simple question.

The Multiverse is Terrifying: The Sans Suffering Rule

Sans doesn't have that problem, and that's a very bad thing.

The Undertale fandom has many, many works and concepts that alter the premise of the game itself. These are, loosely speaking, “AUs”, and they are so numerous in the fandom they’re practically synonymous with “Undertale fan work”. Sans is very popular across every part of the fandom, to the point many of AUs feature or even focus on Sans. He also has countless variations, outnumbering that of other characters. Indeed, it seems he’s the only character that exists in some “AUs”, and all the works the author can recall, only one doesn’t feature Sans, or an imitation or variant thereof.

Within the scope of Sans-centric work, it’s popular to have canon Sans (“Classic”) interacting with versions of himself from other timelines or universes, such as through Sans having a special machine or power that lets him travel to timelines or other universes.

If Sans were to become very familiar with the number, breadth, and details of AU Sanses and their worlds, he would conclude he’s very special and important, in a cosmic sense. And if that happened....the implications would be very, very bad.

Section 2: His suffering is disproportionate to his own lifespan.

Firstly, it is very common to make him suffer, and his suffering (averaged across popular fanworks/AUs) is disproportionate to his own lifespan, assuming he’s much younger the Asgore, Toriel, and Gerson. The ancient war veterans have lived for so long that there are many more opportunities to change the timeline within their own lives, necessarily splitting off into unique or severe suffering scenarios. Importantly, Toriel can die in many timelines, and Asgore dies in every timeline but one. (Gerson, strangely, cannot die in any canon timeline.)

Still, although people could show Asgore discovering the human killed Toriel or vice versa, and Gerson finding out the human killed Toriel or Undyne, the former is rare and the latter is unheard of. Indeed, as Asgore seems oblivious to the human’s murder spree in canon, he doesn’t face much suffering until the point he is killed in one hit.

Section 3: Sans often suffers in especially severe ways by his works’ standards.

Not only is he very popular, but it is very common to make him suffer, and frequently in ways that are unique or especially severe by the standards of the work.

Famously, his brother is often killed by a human. Although the overall number of murders in a Genocide Route is at least 101, and the human probably kills a bunch of people with close connections to later victims, the fanworks themselves don’t linger on this. Though fanworks could kill off the love interests of the RG01/RG02 and the Dogi pair, do so in horrific, prolonged ways, and make the survivor suffer, they rarely do.

In an Underfell variant (Papyrus vs. The Forces of LOVE), he’s abused by his own brother, he’s starving (PredatorTale/HorrorTale), is starving and also gets his eye ripped out and has a grotesque head injury (HorrorTale), he gets stuck in a state between life and death (AfterTale), he becomes an amalgamate with Papyrus (Sixbones)....

And he gets killed, over and over, even within ambiguous-canonical or more-or-less post-canonical works. (Canon Genocide timeline, Genocide timeline-based variants including AfterTale, and GlitchTale) Adding onto the special severity of suffering, Sans ends up having to kill a murderous or mass-murderous human in so many variants and repetitions.

Section 4. Sans Often Suffers in Unique Ways

Adding onto this, fanworks pile on extra-canonical (exaggerated mental health problems, Gaster Blaster transformation suffering) or ambiguous-canonical (e.g., Flowey Runs) types of suffering to Sans much more than anyone. After all, how many works show Flowey-Sans showdowns? How many works show him and only him (or W.D. Gaster and/or Papyrus with him) getting worn away by the resets and Flowey fights?

Additionally, across several works, he uniquely witnesses Papyrus dying first-hand (something ambiguous in canon), and picks up his scarf from the snow and cries. Only Monster Kid parallels this when witnessing Undyne get hit with a lethal blow, but they don’t actually see her turn to dust, and Monster Kid always survives afterwards. Through these things, Sans is further supported as cosmically special in his suffering.

Section 5. The Timeline Will Always Make a Sans (Eventually)

For Sans to exist, a timeline would need to allow for the decisions or phenomena that led to the point Sans could exist. Therefore, it seems that every universe will eventually conspire to create Sans, often using different methods to do so. It doesn’t matter whether he was made by resurrecting a human corpse, or by W.D. Gaster being his standard-issue father with a wife, or the same man creating him in a lab, or the same man (now a god) creating him from a black hole...he will practically always exist, in timelines that overlap with his probable creation time or not.

To be clear, a handful of works are exceptions to the trend. For example, InvertedFate actually has Sans doing slightly better than Canon Sans, nothing bad happens in LittleTale, and Sans doesn’t exist in Caretaker of the Ruins (probably because he wasn’t born yet).

Section 6: Implications

Were Sans to ever figure out the sheer breadth, commonness, severity, and uniqueness of his suffering across canon-associated and non-canon-associated timelines and universes, it would cause a lot of shock and existential terror. Any work where he doesn’t suffer a lot is an anomaly in an overall trend, or he doesn’t suffer there because he doesn’t exist there yet.

Importantly, though Flowey torments him in Flowey Runs, in some works Flowey (or his parallels) do not exist, don’t interact with Sans, or aren’t tormentors (Underfell). Therefore, since Flowey isn’t to blame in every variation, it would seem he is a favored plaything or a cruel god or gods.

Worse still, if Sans does not conclude he and all variations thereof are the playthings of deities...it is simply a natural rule of the universe, like water carving through rock, that Sans will eventually be created and suffer immensely and disproportionately. He cannot fight that, cannot argue against it, cannot befriend it.

It would have better for him to never visit other AUs at all.

Drabble: Tales From The Multiverse - The Prince And His Big Brother

"My Prince, you are the most beautiful little boy I've ever seen!" Hunter, the new servant of Prince Colli's family, was bathing the small starboy with otherwordly fluffy lavender hair and a heart as pure as freshly fallen snow.

The blonde boy had the strong urge to join Colli in the bathtub, but he was afraid to cross a line. The kindhearted eternal little boy seemed to sense Hunter's distress. "Hunter, it's okay! Take off your clothes and join me!"

Hunter couldn't believe his ears! "Oh! And you can just call me Colli. I know that I'm a Prince, but you are my beloved big brother and my greatest treasure!" Hunter felt his heart swell upon hearing Colli's kind words.

Hunter took softly Colli's tiny hand and gave him a handkiss. "And you are my precious little brother, whom I love more than anything." Then, Hunter joined Colli in the bathtub. Colli immediately snuggled up to him.

Hunter.EXE had stopped working as the petite and delicate Colli was in his arms. The immortal celestial boy had a gentle expression on his adorable multi-colored face. Hunter couldn't hold himself back and placed a brotherly peck on Colli's soft lips.

"I'm sorry, Colli! I should've asked for your consent first and-" Hunter couldn't end his sentence as Colli placed a brotherly peck on his lips. "It's fine, Hunter! I liked the kiss!" The cosmic little boy was, in a strong brotherly sense, completely and utterly in love with Hunter.

"I love you, Hunter! You are, in a strong brotherly sense, the love of my life!" Hunter couldn't hold back his tears of joy upon hearing this. "And I love you, Colli. Always and forever. You will always be, the brotherly, love of my life!"

Sadistic choice - Dream, Nightmare and Killer

Dream and Nightmare by Joku

Warning for violence, injury and bodged healing/malunited fractures

Nightmare caught up to Dream in Fablefell.

He had caught the other’s trail and chased him up and down the multiverse, running and portalling and wearing each other down until Dream made a mistake in his haste, jumping into a negative AU rather than a positive one. The drop in positivity knocked him back a step, slowing him down enough that Nightmare reached him.

The negative guardian felt a rise in power as he stepped through his own portal, tendrils unfurling sharply and swaying like snakes preparing to strike. Determined to fight Nightmare off until he could make his escape, Dream summoned his bow and Nightmare’s tendrils were soon bristling with golden arrows as Dream ducked and rolled away from the other’s attacks. Nightmare approached slowly, patiently waiting for Dream to tire as he boxed the other into a corner.

Swipe, dodge, another arrow to add to Nightmare’s burning collection-

Another step away and Dream's back hit the wall and he jolted with surprise, not having a moment to dodge before a tendril swept his feet out from under him and his skull hit the wall with a painful crack. Dazed, Dream made a disorientated attempt to fight as more tendrils curled around the felled guardian, snapping several delicate bones with their enthusiasm as Dream was dragged through the snow towards Nightmare, squirming groggily and trying to summon another arrow to defend himself. A tendril coiled around his arm and snapped his wrist with a flick, prompting a cry as Nightmare crouched next to him, grinning, tentacles writhing around the positive guardian.

“Caught you, brother dearest.” he cooed.

Dream scowled in response, though the expression twisted into pain as a particularly sharp squeeze cracked his ribcage. Wheezing, Dream kicked at Nightmare uselessly, getting a broken ankle for his efforts. Nightmare lifted him to hang limply in the air, then dropped him through a portal.

Dream landed on hard stone with a yelp. From the negativity in the air he knew it as his brother’s castle; around the room he’d fallen in were his brother’s Sanses, for the time being only watching him curiously. His ribs creaked and the already broken bones jostled, but Dream stubbornly forced an arm under himself and rose to his knees, testing his weight on his ankle before he was abruptly tugged into the air. Hissing in pain and kicking wildly, Dream caught a glimpse of Nightmare's grin, then he was shaken back and forth like a ragdoll and thrown, slamming his back into a wall as Dream shrieked and fell, landing on the floor again with a pained huff of air. Nightmare chuckled somewhere above him as Dream glared with unfocused golden eyelights.

Nightmare's smirk widened, eye narrowed to a sliver, and a tendril snuck out to break the other's arm for good measure, earning another harsh rasp of pain. Dream's breathing was erratic and shaky as he haltingly pulled his arms close to his chest, finding it hard for his thoughts not to be eclipsed by his injuries as he watched Nightmare.

A tendril snaked from Nightmare's back and snagged one of his Sanses from where they were watching the two, nudging him towards Dream, who had curled up on his side, unable to push himself off the ground.

“Heal him.”

“... Boss?” the Sans he'd picked out - Killer, apparently - gave him an uncertain look. “I'm gonna need to set his bones to heal right-”

“Don't.” Nightmare didn't bother to acknowledge the confused stare. He cast a sly look at Dream, who seemed to be struggling to breathe, no longer paying much attention to his surroundings. “Just heal him.”

With a shrug Killer crouched next to the guardian, Nightmare's tendrils slipping around Dream to hold him in place as Killer rested a hand on his skull, healing magic seeping into the bone. Dream relaxed a little from the soothing magic, making a faint, soft warble and uncurling a little. A tendril pet his skull with mocking tenderness.

Nightmare watched with a grin as the snapped bones healed back together, fused at odd, twisted angles. The tendrils withdrew a small distance as Killer stood and shuffled away, Dream making a quiet murmur of confusion. Golden eyelights met a cyan gaze and Dream slowly shifted, trying to rise to his feet only to cry out as the malunited wounds flared with pain. He fell back down with a thump. Nightmare chuckled darkly as Dream struggled to move away, bones crooked and brittle; he coiled a tendril around the other's throat, tugging Dream across the floor until he was close enough to dig sharp claws into the newly healed crack in his skull, drawing a whine of pain.

“Good luck running now, Dream.”

Nothing Is As It Seems

Oh yeah this was started a long time ago but hey,,

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Everybody who's aware of the extended multiverse knows Dream. He was a healer that traveled with Ink and had a bouncy personality, and he's arguably cutest person in the multiverse. Nobody knew much of anything about what his life was like before Ink found him in the Omega Timeline, going around and healing people there seemingly without tiring. The Omega Timeline is abundant in positive energy, a perfect source for Dream. People had tried to ask him about his past, but he'd always change the subject or say he had somewhere to be and leave.

It was strange. What was so bad about his past that he thought it unspeakable? Maybe he was trying to escape it. Maybe it was something he had done. His ever-present smile was endearing at times, but sometimes it was troubling that he managed to keep smiling through the worst of tragedies in the darkest timelines. It was more of a practiced skill than any true happiness in his features.

Nobody had heard of Nightmare yet except the timelines he had gathered his team from. He was getting stronger, building his team, training them to work together. At the moment he only had Horror, Killer, and Dust. Cross had yet to suffer through the collapse of his universe. No, Xtale was young, Ink was having fun with that friend of his. The multiverse was mostly at peace. All was at least balanced for the moment.

Dream and Ink enter a pacifist timeline together, Dream happily chatting with Ink as they walk. Dream wears a smile- the usual- and has a bit of a hop in his step, keeping his happy-go-lucky persona intact, while Ink is only smiling casually, having to speed walk to keep up with Dream. This leaves him a few steps ahead of Dream when his travelling companion stops abruptly.

“Dream?”

Ink backtracks, looking at Dream's expression and immediately knowing that something is horribly wrong here; Dream has stopped smiling. His eyelights are trembling, his posture tense and his body held in a defensive stance. Ink hasn't ever seen him like this.

“Ink. We need to get out of here. Now.”

“Wait, Dream, wha- ah!” Ink is cut off when Dream grabs him by the arm and tugs him through a portal he had opened.

“No time to explain, Ink, we need to get as far away from there as possible. There's nothing we can do for them.” For once, Dream has broken his act of being almost childlike in nature, showing a seriousness Ink had never seen in him.

“Dream, if it's Error we need to go back and save-”

“He's worse than Error, Ink. I could feel his presence, that universe was doomed the moment he arrived. Compared to him, Error is as dangerous as a teddy bear. Now think of happy things, I can't have him finding us, especially not you. I have a chance, but you? No, he'd break your mind first, then he'd break your body.”

“You're no more powerful than I am, Dream, what makes you think you could handle this being of unimaginable terror better than I can?”

“Oh, Ink. You don't know even half the situation, try your best to stay out of it. This is for your safety.”

Ink decides it would be best for him to remain quiet after that. Dream breaking character at all is disturbing, but this? He'd rather think happy things as Dream told him to do. Whatever this thing is, he'll do his best to stay away from it.

After many AUs pass by, Dream finally settles in an UnderSwap timeline, smiling again and holding Ink in his arms while he sits in the snow. “Safe, we're safe,” he murmurs. Ink didn't dare ask the name of the danger.

“G̷͓̱͚͕̗͛̀̐̏́-̵̧̼͕̈́͂̀͠g̷̟̗͇͂̈́̚Á̵̧̘̲͖̜̠͕̄́̅͜͝ḧ̷͈!̵̛͓̱̰̎̃͝ Ḯ̷̲̗͂͠ǹ̵̛̳͙͇̍̿̄Ḵ̵̘̳̆̏͜,̷͚̋̒ ̵̛̰̔̉̚͝d̷̛̤̥͍̈́͜O̷̗͐̎̃n̶̩̺̟͠͠'̵̦̈́̀̌̚͠t̷̙̤͑͐͐͠ s̸̹̻̫̿̒-̴̥̒̏S̸͈̼̄̿-̶̬͌͗ṣ̵̨̉̓̀c̶̭͛͠ã̴̜̀R̶̔͗͋͜ë̵͎ ̸̤͚͓̄̒̔m̷̜̪̠̽̍ě̵̪͖ l̶i̵K̴e̵ ̶t̴h̸a̸t̷!̴ T̷h̶e̴ ̶h̸E̵l̸l̶ do yOu waN̸͚̄ť̵̞ anYwa̷̘̕y?” Error's voice glitches out heavily for a moment or so, but it soon starts leveling out again, just leaving him sounding annoyed with the occasional glitch.

“Information. There's something I have to ask about.” Ink seems to be nervous about said subject, but Error doesn't care.

“Why shO̴̮͋uld I tell you anỴ̴̱͆̈́thing?”

“I admittedly can't think of a reason you should, but it's someone supposedly causing chaos, so I thought you might have a part in it or at least know about it.”

“Oh? And who would that be?”

“That's the thing, I'm not sure. Have you seen any new chaotic beings showing up anywhere in the multiverse?” Ink tugs at his gloves, his eyes darting around occasionally.

Error raises a brow. “Yeah, you just walked into my home plane. You're pretty chaotic.”

“Error, seriously, I mean it, this person could be a threat to both of us.” Wow, Ink doesn't even take the time to be offended that Error had used the same term to refer to him as to the enemy. This new person must be truly dangerous for him to forget being dramatic.

“Okay, okay, I have. I saw this goopy guy with tentacles making a mess of some pacifist Echotale timeline. I decided not to mess with him because he looked to be having fun and who am I to stop a little destruction?” Error is lying, he found this ‘guy’ in a Horrortale timeline, forming an alliance with the entire AU by promising them food and a safe place to live. He decided to leave him alone because of the alarming amount of power you could feel just from being close to him. He did a quick check on the monster and decided he didn’t want to mess with him.

That was enough to leave.

“Did you CHECK him?” Ink has to hear his stats. Surely Dream was exaggerating about him, surely he, in his less powerful state, was scared because this person had relatively high stats.

“I did, but his attack and defense both just said ?̵͙̻̼̳̘͒͐̿̅̓̚?̶͓͖͊̐̆͋͌͆̑?̴̢͚̠͊͊͋,” which is spoken in error dialect, and Ink could barely decipher the fact that it was just a screwed up unknown that Error had said. “His name was Nightmare, and his extra description said ‘mercy is seldom seen from him’ along with a simple note of ‘Do not FIGHT.’ It was a little bit unnerving, but I’m sure he’s someone I could fight if I wanted to.”

Ink frowns. That can’t be right. Then again, he doesn’t know this ‘Nightmare’ for himself, and Dream obviously did, so who was he to think he knew better than Dream? “Did it say anything else?”

“Well, yes. ‘Fallen Guardian of Negativity, King of Darkness, ruler of his empire.’ I’m not sure what significance any of that is supposed to- wait where are you going?” Just like that, Ink leaves, going quickly to seek out Dream and tell him this news.

“Dream! Is Nightmare the one you were trying to get me to run from?” He calls out to his friend, running to him.

Dream freezes. “How…?”

“Error met him and CHECKed him, and I knew as soon as he said ‘Fallen Guardian of Negativity’ he had to have something to do with you!” Ink speaks hurriedly, bouncing restlessly on his heels.

Dream winces at those words about Nightmare’s status, taking a step back. “Ink… There’s a very good reason why I’ve been avoiding him and my past.” He looks away, fidgeting nervously. “CHECK me, you’ll see it.”

Ink frowns, but he does as told.

*Don’t trust every smile you see.

He covers his mouth in shock and horror, suddenly realizing that Dream definitely isn’t who he pretends to be. He had been suffering all this time, wearing a smile and pretending that everything was going perfectly to escape the truth of his past and current state.

“I’m sorry,” Dream whispers, “I hid it to protect you all, but now he’s found a way out too, and there’s nothing I can do to stop him at this point…” He sits on the ground, a few tears slipping down his cheeks as he stares at the ground below him. “Take me somewhere else, Ink, take me to a genocide timeline. He’ll find me like this, a-and I can’t let the Omega Timeline be destroyed too.”

“Dream.” Ink says only Dream’s name, staring not at him, but at a point behind him. Dream looks behind him, only to freeze up again.

“So you’ve been hiding from me, love? Such a shame, after I protected your vulnerable form for centuries only to have you run… I wouldn’t hurt you if only you’d stay and not choose to fight.” Nightmare offers a hand to Dream. “Come with me and I’ll spare this timeline, Dream. We can be together again. Doesn’t that sound nice?”

Dream lifts his hand to reach out for Nightmare’s, almost in a daze, then quickly pulls back and stands, backing away towards Ink. “H-how do I know I can trust you? How do I know it’s still you in there, and not- and not the negativity that took you?”

Nightmare frowns and sighs, a tentacle reaching out and wrapping around Dream before anything else can be said. “Of course it’s me, Starlight, all I want is for you to be with me again.” Dream winces at hearing that nickname in the corrupted form’s distorted voice.

“O… Okay. Just don’t hurt this timeline, and don’t hurt Ink.”

“A small price to have my beloved back.”
