There’s a certain feel to a Kel Dor that is expected when one crosses paths with the eldest and supposedly wisest of the Koon Family within the Jedi Temple.
Many Jedi both young and old were acquainted with Master Plo Koon and his calm and steady ways, his kindness and gentle words that could turn razor sharp when pressed. A pillar, old and wise, like the steady rock of the planet or the rolling rumbles of thunder ensuring what is to come. The Clones knew him, some better than their own Generals with how fast word spread among them. A protector, a defender, a man who could earn the rank of General easily had he been a soldier of rank and title rather than just a Jedi given the authority. A man who would willingly lay his life down for another.
Many were acquainted with Sha Koon, a knight known for being a bit more clipped and matter-of-fact in comparison to her uncle. Jedi knew her as the Koon who could dissect a man with a gaze, and the Koon with a memory that never lost its touch, but she was calm and steadfast like her uncle was. The clones knew her by way of rumor, how she no longer operated on the field but her words of refusing to fight for the sake of violence and useless wars rang in their hearts. What use was a battle that wouldn’t even help the war? Gaining a planet that wouldn’t have been a loss even if it was taken? The senseless bloodshed? They kept those words in their hearts and knew she was like her Uncle and had such a love for them.
The younger two of the Koons, both wise and steadfast— there was an expected feeling from them. Like a storm rolling in, like the rock of the planet, like an anchor in the ocean, a lighthouse on the sea.
Fae Koon was different.
An oddity among the Koons, some would say. Age and time had not been kind to him, an ancient and elusive being. And yet…
If Plo was a storm from a distance, the steady rumble and rains. If Sha was the planet, rocking and moving without faltering…
Fae was the wind. Swift and unpredictable. He tore through enemies in combat and ripped apart debates with sharp words and clear messages.
The other Kel Dor called him Etu'soh'Makai-Du'ul-Siksta, The One Whose Wind Cuts Through The Darkened Sleep. The name of a violent Wind Spirit known for tearing apart settlements when enraged, known for the howling of the winds when one sleeps.
Perhaps at one point, he had been the same as his nephew. Strong, wise, steady, and calm. But now he was quiet until provoked, elusive and haunting the halls until called upon. A ghost roaming the battlefield tearing apart enemies and leaving naught a trace behind him.
And yet The quiet from him wasn’t a form of looming danger, but a form of contentment and comfort.
Fae Koon was different.
But he was not bad in that way. And no matter how different he was, his younger relatives loved him, there was no doubt about that.
And there was no doubt that just like the two of them, Fae Koon loved and cared for others so deeply with a genuine heart.

Plo: Did you give Sha wine?
Fae: ...No...why?
Plo: She somehow got access to Dorin Wine. We are the immediate family and Saf will kill me if she finds out.
Fae: I...drank some last night...
Plo: Did you lock the cabinet?
Fae:
Plo:
Fae: I may have been drunk...
Plo: Uncle!
Sha: Alcohol tastes better when you’re underage because the secret ingredient is crime.
Plo, from the other room: YOU BETTER NOT BE, SHA!
Sha: Shit—

A New Life, A New Hope
Fandom(s): Star Wars
Rating: K/T
Pairing: Kit Fisto/Plo Koon
Summary: Sometimes things happen that are unexpected, but even so... Kit couldn’t be more excited for the future
AO3
Tumblr media
Basically, kel dor don't have strict biological divides in gender so like. they can all have kids? if they want? don't think about it too much, I don't
This is my apology for the last plokit fic fhdfhjdhfjd
Kit Fisto had always loathed being away from those he loved longer than was necessary.
Especially after the War.
He supposed that was just a thing that all of them were dealing with now, though. So many lost lives had made the already small Jedi Order even smaller, and a lot of them had the same feeling of wanting to be closer than ever. To not spread out, in fear of losing another person dear to them.
Perhaps they were no longer fully light, but things had changed— War changed things.
Nonetheless, as a Jedi, Kit Fisto still had a job to do, and that was to help people.
It was funny, he supposed. Now that the War was over, suddenly the other Force Sensitive Sects like the Baran Do Sages and the Sälãi Käsi Order were helping where they could.
Others who weren’t Force Sensitive, just groups of Civilian Do-Gooders, were also helping out more— people were beginning to realize that the Jedi couldn’t just solve all the problems in the Galaxy, even with the Clones at their sides. They were offering help and alliances to the Order— Even the Pirate King, Hondo Ohnaka, though he was causing as much trouble as he was helping, apparently.
Even the Queen of the Fair Folk, Her Majesty Queen Titania of the Seelie Courts, had offered her aid if they ever needed it.
(She seemed to be awfully doting on Cin, which was rather funny in Kit’s opinion. He really didn’t think too much about it, there were a number of Fae-blooded Jedi, maybe Cin was one of them.)
It was nice knowing that it wasn’t just the Jedi out there in service to the innocents of the Republic— but it was also complicated to think about. The Baran Do Sages still had their loyalty to their Planet, as did many of the other Sects, and were still bound by Republic laws.
It was still fewer hands than the unrealistic ideologist in Kit hoped for.
Realistic or not, Kit was still less than pleased that his mission had taken far longer than it needed to. What was supposed to have been a short-term mission lasting only a month or two at most had become a long-term mission, stretching closer to six months, and that meant that Kit had been away from his Partner for far too long.
(All because of Politics. It was always politics too! Next time he was sending Obi-Wan instead. He didn’t care that it was an aquatic planet, it was Obi-Wan’s problem now. The Order had breathing masks for just such an occasion.)
Ordinarily, Kit would have been unhappy enough about the vast amount of time that he and his Partner had been apart, just in general. While the two of them enjoyed their space, the War had kept them separated for so long already— Kit wasn't pleased about being gone longer than some of their longest campaigns had kept them apart.
But right at this moment? Right at this time? Well, it was something he had loathed far more than he usually would have.
Two months into his mission, around the same time he’d realized that it was going to take much longer than he had initially hoped, Kit had gotten a rather urgent message from the eldest of the Koons in the Order— Master Fae Koon, who also just so happened to be his partner’s uncle.
Fae had called it a rather bewildering occurrence— a one in a hundred chance. Closer to one in a thousand, really.
Plo Koon, at the time of the call, had been carrying eggs. Of course, they had since been lain. Kel Dor clutches were laid four months after conception, then incubated for another four within the Kel Dor before they were ready to hatch— at the time, Kit had been dumbfounded and absolutely at a loss for what to do, but Fae had explained everything the best he could.
The eldest of the three Koons in the Order had told him that he hadn’t believed it possible in the first place— none of them had— but he had returned from his wandering when Head Healer Vokara Che contacted him for help on the matter, and it turned out to be true.
Plo was viciously protective of the small clutch. No one had been able to enter their shared quarters and Plo was reluctant to even leave them. Something that Fae explained was rather normal for Kel Dor parents, but it was still jarring for many of the Jedi and Clones alike.
In total, there were six eggs, though Fae had warned Kit that it would be unlikely for all of them to hatch— if any of them did.
The elder Koon had then explained that until Kit returned the eggs would remain incubated outside, and therefore very vulnerable.
When Kit returned to Dantooine, (and this had told him with the same tone that the elder Master would use when giving a report, which had made Kit start laughing hysterically, it was just such a strange situation) he and Plo would transfer the eggs back into Plo’s body— a cultural thing, it turned out, which was why Plo wasn’t doing it himself. The act, on Dorin and within the Kel Dor culture, was something that affirmed the bond between the two Kel Dor and a promise of a strong family.
Kit didn’t mind, though, listening with rapt attention as the elder Kel Dor explained everything during that fated call. He had later ended up asking a barrage of questions, whenever they came to him, of the other Master. Not that Fae seemed to mind at all.
It was unexpected, to say the least, but it was welcome. Kit had entertained the idea of children a few times before in the past, and he knew for a fact that Plo had done the same— but the old Code had made that particular hope complicated, so they had dropped the idea for the longest time.
But now? Now it was possible— Now it was something that was very real, and very much happening.
It was safe to say that Kit was filled with both excitement and nerves as he landed in the fields of Dantooine. His descent was… a bit rougher than some would have liked.  In truth— he had almost crashed his landing in his rush, much to Skywalker’s awe and horror when he pulled up and landed last second.
But Kit didn’t bother with sparing him any of his time as he leaped from his ship.
He could give the Council his report later, he decided. Right now, he had somewhere important to be.
It had been a long six months away from the new Jedi Temple on Dantooine, and he was quite eager to get back to his partner— especially since they had children now. Unborn but still, theirs. It made his heart swell in his chest with the idea.
Children. Theirs.
He didn’t bother with hiding or even stifling his emotions in the Force— his excitement and eagerness bleeding without a care as he jogged through the Temple’s halls.
He saw a few other Jedi turn and wave to him, and he briefly stuck his tongue out at Quinlan. His pseudo-step-brother wolf-whistled as he, Former Coruscant Guard Commander Fox, and part-time Temple Guard Ashe Lark walked past.
(The Jedi Temple Guard was all part-time now, their Oaths altered. It was rather freeing, but again, besides the point.)
There were others who shouted greetings and well-wishes but Kit only waved back as he walked quickly through the old Temple. He took to the stairs that lead up to the residential quarters two at a time, nodding quickly to Eeth and Mira Koth as he passed the Zabrak pair as he went— the two smiling and giving their good wishes to him as well.
All in all, it didn’t take him long to get to where he needed to be once he got to the correct floor. Kit nodded to the three clones who were idly standing outside of his and Plo’s quarters.
Boost, Sinker, and, of course, Wolffe. He wasn’t sure why the three decided to camp out there, but he appreciated it nonetheless.
Boost saluted Kit as he approached, Sinker moving to stand up from where he was on the floor to do the same, but he waved him off.
“How is he?” He asked, and Wolffe made a noise that was somewhere between a hum and a snort.
“Well, he hasn’t left since the, ah, eggs, were laid,” the former Commander said, “Hissed and almost drew his ‘saber on ‘Soka when she tried to coax him out. The only ones who have been able to get in are the other Kel Dor in the Temple. Fae said it was normal for that to happen, though.”
“But he’s been eating,” Sinker supplied, the three moving out of the way for Kit as he stepped up to the door. He swiftly punched in the door code as he nodded, tresses curling a bit.
“You should all go and get something to eat yourselves,” he said after a moment, waiting for the locks to register the code. “I’ll take it from here.”
The three clones nodded at that, Boost helping Sinker up before all three saluted. Still, they lingered for a moment longer before heading down the hall as the door opened.
Kit stepped into the room and nearly staggered at the mingled waves of protectiveness and excitement that slammed into him as the door closed. The Force was overflowing with it, making his tresses curl and twitch in response.
He shook his head with a smile though, following the Force to where he knew that Plo was waiting for him.
He didn’t need to, of course. He’d sort of figured that Plo would be in his anti-ox chamber, but how could he not follow the Force when so much love and joy was coming from him?
The door was open to the chamber, the low thrum and hum of the atmospheric field reaching his ears along with soft clicks and croons from the Kel Dor inside.
He stopped at the doorway, leaning against it as he gazed into the room.
Plo was curled around a makeshift nest made from their clothes; six, round eggs settled in the center. His talon guards were off, set to the side as he gently ran his fingers over the eggs, whistling, clicking, and churring softly.
Kit lightly knocked on the doorframe, and he couldn’t help but smile as he watched. Plo’s tusks flexed, somewhat remnant in the same way that a lothcat’s ears would perk up, and the Kel Dor looked over to him.
“Ah, Kit!”
The other’s voice was a bit warbly and much deeper than was normally heard— a byproduct of Plo being in his natural atmosphere now.
Kit held up a hand as Plo made a movement to get up, turning to the rack near the door, taking one of the masks off of the hooks, and putting it on. The soft mechanical whirr of filtration reached his ears and the green light on the side to show that it was, in fact, cycling the oxygen in the storage ports through lit up before he reached for the extra coverings that went over his gills.
He didn’t need to worry too much about his eyes drying out or anything, his second set of eyelids protected them enough. Though he could wear goggles if he wanted to, he wasn’t exactly fond of them. As long as he wasn’t in there for hours upon hours on end, he would be fine.
(He tested it once, he could go for about four hours before it got uncomfortable, two more and then he had to step out and go for a swim before coming back with goggles.)
The preparation didn’t take long, and soon he was crossing the floor from the door to the bed in a few strides.
“Sorry for taking so long, my love,” Kit chuckled, leaning down and lightly knocking their foreheads together. A happy croon escaped the Kel Dor, tusks flexing in a pleased manner, lips curling up in a smile.
Kit’s own voice was strange and a bit muffled to his own audial pits, something that Plo often found amusing, though right now he just seemed happy to have him back.
“I’m glad you have returned,” Plo murmured after a moment of just basking in the warmth of his return and being together after so long. Kit hummed, sitting down next to the Kel Dor and gazing down at the six small eggs. They were perfect.
He couldn’t help it, his tresses swirling and wriggling in a pleased and happy manner as he leaned over and knocked their foreheads together again.
“I’m glad to be back with you, and the little ones.”
And it was still something that had been unexpected, but there had been many good things in his life that had ended up being unexpected.
Plo crooned happily at that, lightly nudging him again and he turned his head a bit, knocking their foreheads together once more.
It was unexpected, a new life in the Temple that wasn’t a foundling but rather something— someone— who had been born into the Temple.
Well, hatched.
But new life brings new joy and new hope— and Kit found that there were no words to express the joy he felt after all.
He settled instead for pulling Plo close into his side and resting his head on his partner’s. He took one of Plo’s hands in his own, and they watched their children together.
I'm slowly getting back into writing plokit stuff again, but like. brain shriveled up like dead shrimp (pain)
this has been in my drafts since last year and I just cry. I don't particularly like it, but I figured I might as well clear my drafts out, yeah?
fun fact: Mira Koth is Eeth Koth’s wife from legends. They had a daughter and then Eeth was murdered by vader lmao
Thank you to @spacerocksarethebestrocks for beta’ing this !!

Didn’t Mean To Make You Cry
Fandom(s): Star Wars
Rating: K/T
Summary: Kit survives order 66. Plo does not. And it hurts so much.
AO3
Tumblr media
Do y'all know how long this has been sitting in my drafts unfinished? like a year lmao. I don't know how good this is but meh. It is what it is.
It hurt.
More than anything else it hurt, and from the looks that Obi-Wan was shooting him, he likely could feel his distress from where he was holding Luke Skywalker.
It was only the knowledge that Plo would never forgive a child being murdered that kept Kit seated and gazing at the stars as they traveled through Hyperspace. And the fact that it wouldn't be fair to the kid— he hadn't done anything wrong, after all. The sins of the father shouldn't be something that the son had to bear.
Still, it hurt.
The cauterized wound wrapped in Bacta hurt too, but the gnawing pain in his chest hurt more.
Arms suddenly wrapped around him, a face buried in the crook of his neck and raven hair spilling over his shoulder, and Kit stiffened before reaching up and slowly stroking Bultar’s hair. She had made it out by the skin of her teeth, pulling a half-dead Sha behind her. Lissarkh had gotten separated from her, but she was alive, so she said. The younger Kel Dor was sleeping, mentally injured as well and her head rested against Kit’s leg. Sitting with his legs folded under him and with his gaze towards the direction Cato Namoida was the eldest of the Koon Jedi, Fae Koon, still and in mourning. Yoda sat beside him, gimmer stick across his lap.
“So... how long?” Obi-wan ventured. Kit was silent for a moment. Obi-Wan kept trying to make small talk as they moved across the Galaxy, stowed away on Bail's ship.
“Plo and I got together a few years after you were knighted. Though it was just a casual affair. Plo had lost his Master who had been like a Father to him, he needed something to act as a safety net. We were already friends by then, so I offered to just. Sleep next to him, be close and all that. Then things got more... romantic. Dinners, picking up small gifts, waking up just to gaze at the other while they slept. It became something official and not-so-secret secret two years later. And then... well, before Geonosis, we were on a mission together.”
Yoda made a slight noise. “Wed in the way of the Kel Dor, you were.”
“We.... yeah,” Kit sighed, looking down at Sha. “I… I loved him. Love him. So much. Nautolans search and search and often only find one… I…” he sighed again and Bultar’s arms tightened around his neck just a bit. “I suppose I was always more of a Grey than a Jedi… I-“ he took a breath.
“I had hoped that after the War… we-“
“Created a family, you did. Formed attachments, you have.”
Kit bristled a bit, teeth bearing on instinct. “Can’t blame me too much though, you stick two emotion-sensitive people together and it’s bound to happen.”
“Peace. Accuse you, I am not,” his former Master sighed. “Risky, it was, to ask Kel Dor to adhere to not forming attachments, I knew.”
“Any of us could have told you so,” Fae murmured, “Still... Sha will be damaged when she wakes. I will mend because I have a larger web... it is not the answer you wish for, Kit, but... it is almost better that Plo was... killed.”
Kit’s chest seized but he nodded. “I know. His entire system was linked to the Order and the Clones.”
“He would have clung to yours so tightly like a lifeline, but it’s a double-edged sword. Losing himself slowly. He would not have allowed himself to create more connections, not to heal. He would not have been able to care for your child with you properly.”
Kit sized up a bit at that, breath catching. The pain was still raw. And of course, Fae would know.
Of course he would.
And Kit wasn’t sure which part of the elder Kel Dor’s words he hated more— because he was right.
And he knew it.
And he hated it, because his heart ached.
Something something the title is an apology, something something bohemian rhapsody

In Where Plo’s Sticker Habit Saves More Than Morale
Chapter 3: A Price Given Is An Act Of Good Will
Chapter Summary: Saesee Tiin knew when his friend is troubled. And he might not agree with how he handles it, but he supposes there are worse things he could have done.
Rating: T (Language)
Fandom: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (References to the Prequels)
Pairing: Kit Fisto/Plo Koon (Heavily Implied)
Extra Notes: Also on AO3 || AO3 Series Index || Orignal Post on my Writing Account
3/7 < Prev | Next > || Start
I got this idea from someone's headcanons on here but I think a number of people— or at least more than one— have the same idea that Kel Dor tusks are the space equivalent to Ivory. Except they grow back.
Anyways, I like Saesee Tiin too. He's pretty cool. Ship's broken? Jump onto a Sep ship and steal it. now you have a new ship. (2003 was great)
Edit: hellooo just a reminder to yall that this is a repost from when i originally posted it on my writing account around a year ago. As of right now, a lot of my past ideas have changed but I didn’t want to change the original writings when i reposted! either way, enjoy the story!
The Force around Plo Koon was troubled, that much was obvious as Saesee Tiin walked up to his fellow council member and friend, his back to him and gaze fixed on a point outside the large window that overlooked the temple and Coruscant.
"Something troubles you, my friend," the Iktotchi man commented, stopping next to him. "What is it? I fear if you become more troubled, you are likely to pull Master Shaak Ti from Kamino and Master Kit Fisto will show up from the vents."
The Kel Dor just let out a slight chuckle, hands clasped behind his back as he tilted his head a bit.
"Windu has told me that the Senate wishes for my Commander's decommission," he said simply, though the simple words were tied to a sudden spike in ire from the normally collected and calm Master. Saesee hummed a bit. While he stayed true to the Code, almost to the letter, he knew that the older Jedi had his own reasons for attachment. He had learned as such through their long years as friends.
Kel Dor were a people who thrived off of emotional connections. A carefully created web of attachments kept them mentally stable, but Plo was careful about how he handled them.
( Attachments versus love. An obsession versus a relationship. And if anyone could do it better than a Kel Dor, Saesee might just eat his own robes. )
"It would be troubling to find another as loyal and strong as your Commander," Saesee said carefully, mindful of the other Jedi walking through the temple. Not everyone understood the Kel Dor's needs, understood the intricacies of his bonds, but Plo understood what Saesee's words meant.
It would be a great loss, and if the Kaminoans decided that being taken off of the front wasn't enough, Wolffe would be… taken care of in their own methods (though Shaak would never allow for that if she could help it). And a carefully woven part of those fragile webs would be ripped from Plo. It would be worse than the other times when those near him were lost because Wolffe was like a son to him— was a son to him
"The Senate will not spare funds to grant the good Commander a replacement for his eye," Saesee continued, "And the Order does not have the means by itself to do so."
"Indeed," Plo responded, "And optical prosthetics are more pricy than others."
The two were silent for a moment before Saesee finally took the bait.
"What's your plan, my friend?"
"I am assuming that you wouldn't be likely to join me in walking into the black market or into the lower levels of Coruscant to find some less than savory dealers?" the Kel Dor asked back and Saesee bristled a bit.
"Plo…" he warned and the Kel Dor waved him off.
"At ease, my friend," he told him. "I jest… mostly."
"It is that 'mostly' part that worries me, Plo Koon," the Iktotchi man grumbled before sighing, shaking his head. "And if I said yes to this adventure of yours?"
Plo Koon hummed before leaning back slightly on his heels. "Then I will require a file grinder, a scalpel, medical thread, and some privacy to do what I must."
He took a breath before letting out his bewilderment into the force before any of the younglings or Knights around them could feel it. "You," he started, "Are insane and it is a miracle you're still with us. But very well."
Saesee turned, robes swirling around his legs as he did. He knew he had a sander stored away for his own horns in order to keep them shaped correctly. And he knew that technically, Plo should have one as well, but knowing him, his own had been given up to either his soldiers or an initiate who needed it. Saesee paused for a moment, glancing over his shoulder.
"I will also inform Master Fisto, and both Knights Koon," he told him, almost as if it was an afterthought and Plo just laughed, a low rumbling noise.
"I thank you, my friend," the Kel Dor said in return before bowing a bit. "You are free to enter into my quarters should I not return before you do. I must inform Masters Windu and Yoda of my decision."
Saesee shook his head, sighing. "I cannot believe you're doing this," he told him as if he already didn't know the Older Jedi would resort to measures such as these for his boys— for the people who had been granted such a precious spot in the Kel Dor's intricate mental connections.
Indeed, Saesee knows that had it been anyone else on the council, Plo Koon would have done the same thing, but for the Clones, who were nothing more than property by laws of the Senate (oh how his own blood boiled at that), the Kel Dor Master sacrificing parts of his own body meant so much more.
The truth was that Jedi were never supposed to fight in wars, not Generals, and he knew this. They all did. The price of forcing them to be Generals, soldiers, to be a military… the price weighed heavily on any Jedi's heart, but for those who were more attuned to others, who were more compassionate, who were a race of people who thrived off of emotional connections... it was particularly damaging.
But Saesee shook his head as he walked.
Thoughts for another time.
(x)
When Wolffe had been called back to Kamino he had feared the worst.
He was going to be decommissioned, or put on janitorial duty, or something worse, and fear shot through him at the thought. And he was ashamed at his failure, the mortification at becoming something worse than dead weighed on him as well— a useless soldier was worse than a dead one.
So it was safe to say that when he had been led to one of the operating chambers he had been stressed. Sure, General Shaak Ti had gently placed a hand on his arm and assured him that he would be fine, that nothing bad was going to happen, but forgive him if he didn't believe her.
It was only when he woke back up on a transport ship heading back to Coruscant with General and Master Saesee Tiin sitting not too far from him, a datapad in hand. He could see the turquoise painted armor of the 419th from around the corner of the bunk. Truly a small transport ship then.
Then it dawned on him.
He could see out of both eyes.
Wolffe shifted, reaching up to touch his face before he was stopped.
"That would be unwise," General Tiin's voice said and he glanced over as the gentle force grip lessened on his wrist. General Tiin lowered his own hand before looking up from his datapad. "The eye still needs time to heal."
"Sir," he greeted slowly, brows furrowing. General Tiin answered before he could even ask his question.
"Master Koon is currently busy dealing with some… aquatic life," the other Master said simply. "He requested that Commander Vik and I come and bring you back to Coruscant."
"We're almost there too," the unmistakable voice of the said Commander said before his face came into view from around the bunk, a slight grin on his face. Vik had always been a more relaxed individual in comparison to the ever serious Saesee Tiin, with his hair cut short and a bit of scruff, as if he had yet to shave— to which, Vik probably had.
"Good to see you alive, vod," Vik continued, leaning against the bunk. "Char was worried we snatched you out from under those longnecks too early. Say hello, Char."
"Hi, Wolffe!" came Char's voice from the cockpit and Wolffe swears he saw General Tiin's lips twitch up just slightly.
"Nonetheless, Commander," the General was speaking again and Wolffe turned his gaze over to the Iktotchi man. "The 104th will be on leave until you are recalibrated to that new eye of yours. We will return you to your, hm, Vod? Apologies if I have mispronounced it."
"You're doing great, General," Vik told Tiin and the Iktotchi made a noncommittal noise.
"Then we will return you to your Vod when we land, I'm certain they're more than curious about you and your new eye."
Wolffe could only nod, more than a bit dazed. Despite knowing that his own General, his Buir, was friends with the other Council Member, he had never heard him speak more than a handful of words at a time— and normally to comment on the battle. The 419th spoke highly of him, though, but had simply said that he was a man of few words.
He wasn't sure what to make of the horned man, but he did have a question, one that he was sure only the General before him would answer.
Tiin didn't even wait for him to ask. "The cost of your eye has been covered," he assured, tilting his head a bit. Wolffe's face scrunched a bit and the General let out a slight chuckle.
"I mean not to alarm you, Commander," he told him, "But as of now, your thoughts are still quite loud. Any natural telepath would be able to hear you."
Well, that explained it. Wolffe cleared his throat, shifting a bit as he gazed around for a moment.
"How were the… funds secured…?" he asked, "I was under the impression that…"
"It would be a useless endeavor to save a clone when he could be easily replaced?" Tiin offered and, while he bristled, he nodded. The General leaned back, nodding a bit.
"The Senate does tend to think along those lines," he mused as Vik snorted, muttering something about how politicians knew "jack-shit" which was most definitely a phrase he was filing away.
General Tiin just looked slightly amused at his Commander's antics before he continued. "Master Koon paid for it himself, not to worry."
That just made him worry more if possible.
"Jumping out of Hyperspace now, General!" Char called back before Wolffe could voice his next question, which was 'how' because there was no way that his General just happened to have a couple thousand credits just lying around. The Jedi didn't get large paychecks— the Clones didn't get paid— or at least not large enough to pay for a whole cybernetic eye for one clone.
If General Tiin could tell what he was thinking, he didn't answer as he stood, stowing the datapad in his robes and walking up to the cockpit. Vik walked over to him, however, helping Wolffe sit up as the small transport ship dropped out of Hyperspace and started heading into Coruscant's orbit.
"It's good to see that you're alive, vod," he told him. Wolffe just grunts.
"Certainly has been a while," he agreed in response, slowly getting to his feet. He felt woozy and off-balance but Vik easily steadied him, assisting him and putting his armor back on— if only because it was habit for them to arrive on Coruscant in armor and leave in it.
He breathed a soft sigh of relief once his helmet was secured back on, rolling his eyes at the many missed inner-com messages from the rest of the Pack— demanding to see him and his eye as soon as he got back. It was both touching and irritating, but that was what brothers were for, right?
Vik seemed to be picking up on his thoughts as the turquoise-painted Commander just grinned before he put his own helmet on.
Well, if anything else, it would be good to see his brothers again with two eyes instead of one.
And when Wolffe did return to the barracks, with Boost and Sinker pestering him all the way there, he found Knight Sha Koon waiting for them outside of the door, leaning on the wall with her arms crossed.
"Congratulations on not dying," the Knight greeted him before she pushed off the wall. The three of them bowed, only slightly put off by Sha Koon's cooler attitude in comparison to her Uncle and their General's warmer one.
"Thank you, sir," Wolffe said, straightening as she walked over. Sha reached into her robes, pulling something out before handing it over to Wolffe.
"Plo says to enjoy your time off," she added as she walked past them. Wolffe grasped the small package she had handed him, glancing over his shoulder as the Kel Dor walked back down the hall, robes swirling behind her and Wolffe chuckled, shaking his head before growling as Sinker snatched the small, flimsiplast-wrapped box and opened it.
"Whaaat? No way! Buir gave you all these stickers?"
"Hand 'em here, Sinker," Wolffe growled, snatching the box back. "They're mine, not yours!"
"No fair!"
"I think Sha gave you some too," Boost said, peering over his shoulder. "Those at the top, see? Those aren't Buir's normal style of stickers."
Sinker huffed as Wolffe struggled to detach himself from his two closest brothers. "Jua'vod gave you some too!? Woooolffee!"
"GET OFF!"
Comet blinked, lifting his head as he heard his Commander and ori'vod pass by the common room, Sinker and Boost hanging off of him. Ghost just shrugged.
"Sha?" he asked. Comet nodded, fiddling with the sticker the youngest of the three Koons had given him.
"Yeah," he told the medic, who snorted.
"We should tell Cable to write down that Ba'vodu Fae's and Jua'vod Sha's stickers are extra points," Ghost drawled and Comet laughed at that, shaking his head as Wolffe and the other two's brotherly argument continued.
(x)
As the 104th rejoiced in having their Commander back, or teased him about his new eye, and as Jedi Knight Sha Koon returned to her own troops to prepare for an off-world mission, the High Council Chambers of the Jedi Order held quite a different atmosphere— especially for a nonscheduled meeting.
Tea and Caf had been made, and for those who had been on Coruscant were indulging while those off-world and in attendance via Holo were more or less chuckling or grinning at a certain Nautolan's antics as he hung onto the Kel Dor— who was simply drinking tea through a straw.
"You're all laughing at me," Kit cried, arms wrapped around Plo as Obi-Wan chuckled into his mug, Ki-Adi full-on laughing. "Plo just cut off both his tusks and you're laughing at me!"
"To be fair," Eeth started as he lowered his own mug of Caf, "It was his choice."
"They'll grow back easily enough," Mace added, rolling his eyes and Yoda hummed, turning to Plo Koon.
"Less traumatic, to do it yourself this time, it was?" he asked and Plo nodded in response, easily ignoring the lamenting Nautolan latched onto his back— though Adi, Obi-Wan, Ki-Adi, Depa, and Shaak Ti certainly were not, with Adi, Obi-Wan, Ki-Adi, and Depa all circled around Kit and poking fun at him while Shaak Ti laughed at his expense.
"Quite," the Kel Dor answered finally, "Though considering how the last time I had one removed it was done without my say-how... certainly, having my wits about me with me helped."
"That certainly was a nightmare," Saesee recalled, nodding as he took the bowl of sugar from Eeth when it was offered to him. "I remember hearing how pissed Fae was when he learned that you had been both drugged and had one less tusk."
"We may sell our tusks and skin to the markets for money when we need to, but stealing them without permission is just a big of a crime as any other," Plo said simply before letting out a startled clicking noise as Kit launched into another spiel about how "the Council will never be the same again" and how they "might as well shave Obi's beard off and give Mace a wig"— which had made Obi-wan blanch and then make a gaging noise while Depa and Ki-Adi roared with laugher.
Mace made a face at that before sighing and Saesee raised his mug to him in pity.
"Just another day at the Council, right, Masters?" Eeth said calmly, taking a sip from his own again.
"More like another day with children pretending to be adults," the Head of the High Council grumbled.
"Oh, you know you love us," Shaak Ti hummed, a playful smirk on her lips. "We're karking delights."
Mace just groaned at that, putting his head in his hands, just in time to miss Kit turn and bump his head against Plo's.
"You're all horrible!" he huffed before pausing. "But I'm glad Commander Wolffe's okay."
"Hear, hear," Adi laughed as she wrapped an arm around Depa's shoulders.
Obi-Wan stroked his beard. "But the real question is, should I shave?"
"You're a horrible man, Kenobi, I want to disown you!"
"You can't disown me, Kit, that doesn't make sense!"
Yes, Plo thought as he chuckled softly, leaning back into Kit's hold as the two Masters behind him argued. Shaak was right, they were all karking delights.
Char is baby and that's the tea.
Also the Council is just a bunch of children pretending to be adults and thats the tea part two.
We dont get to see much about Saesee even in TCW. No stand alone episode like with Ki-adi or Plo or Stass, but we know he's a pilot and he seems to have a decent enough relationship with Plo. in other fics ive seen its 50/50 in him being a hardass or not, but since I've fabricated for him to be a friend of plo's and this is an Everything Is Nice series he's still strict to the code, but allows leeway when he can see the logic. Hes apparently the type to keep to himself while also being headstrong. According to the legends hes a telepath. Basically, if Saesee speaks up, he probably has something important to say.
Translations: (I havent done anything for Buir and Vod since they're used a lot in SW Fanfiction. TLDR buir- parent, vod- brother/sister/sibling)
jua'vod: comes from juaan which means "beside" and Vod (which we know is sibling)— beside sibling. so cousin. Sinker's calling Sha their cousin.
ba'vodu: uncle/aunt. in this case uncle.
Further Notes:
Like I said above, think of Tusks as the space version of Ivory. Very expensive and very valuble. Kel Dor parts of tusks, but the more tusk and more intact, the better it is. They grow back, unlike elephant's tusks (I think, I dont actually know much about elephants) and, of course, Kel Dor are targets for black market and non-human trade because of it, but Plo knows his way around the lower levels and the markets.
In regard to Saesee's Clones, in the 2003 series (which is beautiful by the way, Shaak yeets Gerivous and theres a whole ass wolfman who i love and he'll show up here too) he's got a company and an unnamed captain commander. Though this commander's armor was originally supposed to be painted either green or turquoise, it ended up being colored red and he got confused with ARC Trooper Captain Fordo. The 4 in 419 comes from the fact that Saesee had four actors, 19 comes from the year he died (19bby). Commander Vik for uh. Victory. Char because he just keeps getting lit on fire I guess.
Sha Koon is in her Edgy Teen Phase, dont worry Wolffe. She loves you because you're her cousin.
(also Kit has an emotional crisis over his bf's lost tusks.)
Fae, for those who havent seen my posts about Plo’s Uncle, is the name I have given to Plo Koon's canonical uncle. We dont know anything about him except that he's a Knight (though i might be bumping him up to Master Status because HELLA) and he's plo's uncle. and some other stuff. I'm going to be including him too in this.
Edit: I’ve changed some things— Fey is now simply spelled differently as “Fae” to avoid confusion in the Jedi Master Fay from Legends and Plo Koon’s Uncle who remained unnamed in Legends.

Those Who Wander Are Not Always Lost
Fandom(s): Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars (Prequel Trilogy), Star Wars Legends
Rating: Gen/K
Summery: Plo’s missing from the Crèche and it’s not the first time Fae’s been tasked to bring them back. Good thing someone found Plo beforehand.
AO3
Here’s that fluff I promised, finally lol
Plo was missing.
Again.
Or that's at least what the extremely put-out Elomin Crèchemaster had told him after summoning him from his class.
And in truth, Fae didn’t blame his brother’s child for sneaking off. It seemed to be something that every generation forgot— Koons wandered. It was in their blood. They were all explorers, after all.
Still, Fae found it rather funny that the Crèchemaster would always call him to find his wayward relative. As if his brother’s child would simply go back to the Crèche and stay put.
Nonetheless, Fae walked through the temple at a leisurely pace. If Plo wished to wander, then there was no doubt they would wander. So he really wasn’t in any rush to find his wayward charge, though he did ask a few Jedi he passed if they had seen Plo, either way. As long as the young one didn’t escape to the outside, he could take his search easy.
(Plo hadn’t, the Temple Guards out at the front had shaken their heads when asked. And no one came and went from the Temple’s front gates without them knowing.)
And really, it wasn’t as if he didn’t know where Plo often ended up.
If Plo escaped the Crèche, nine times out of ten, the young Kel Dor ended up with one of his four, close agemates— or with Yaddle’s Padawan, Oppo Rancisis.
So, yes. Fae wasn’t worried about Plo. If Plo was in danger or distressed, Fae would feel it through their familial bond, just like any other Kel Dor tied through family would.
He hummed, bowing a bit to a few Masters as they passed before he continued on his way. He planned to stop in the Gardens where Tyvokka was first, and if Plo wasn’t there, then over to where Yarael was in the Archives with T’ra. Yaddle was off-planet at the moment with Padawan Rancisis, meaning Plo wasn’t with either of them. If Plo wasn’t with any of the three who remained, he’d check in with Yoda and then go from there.
He hummed as he walked into the Gardens, easily spotting his dear friend among the plants. Fae stopped short though, quiet as he heard soft rumbling from the Wookiee.
«Hm. Escaping the Crèche is no easy task, little one.»
“I didn’t escape.”
«Call it what you wish, little one.»
A series of clicks followed, which Fae knew roughly translated to giggling laughter as he moved quietly through the Gardens. Plo’s grasp on both Basic and Shyiirwook was impressive at such a young age. The young child had known a great majority of Kel Dor from the years on Dorin since their hatching, and of course, understood Basic very well. When Fae had brought Plo, they did not know how to speak it.
Learning to speak it along side of learning how to understand Shyiirwook was no easy feat, and Fae was proud of the child of his brother. And it certainly helped that one of their Crèchemates was also a Wookiee.
Plo was nine years old standard now, brought to the Temple Three years ago by Fae. If he had to be honest, he was a little bit worried. In those three years, Plo had not exactly connected nor made friends with many of their Crèchemates. Only the young Kaminoan Ina Ki and, of course, the Wookiee, Lofanurra really connected with them.
The language barrier, along with being brought in at an older age, and Plo’s wandering habits did little to help bridge the gap between them and the others in their clan.
Though, Fae had hardly been that different. It just happened that his group was full of others he’d have to live with for the majority of his life. Long-lived sentients were, after all, rather stuck with one another.
And, of course, Yarael’s telepathy allowed for another bridge to be made when Fae couldn’t quite make the words match his meanings back then.
Fae shook his head a bit, shaking the memories off as he approached. Tyvokka easily spotted him as he came into view.
«It seems the child of your brother has decided to wander off again, Fae.»
“I noticed, and Crèchemaster Aed Corso has since reprimanded me for taking so long in bringing them back.”
Plo wormed their way out of where they had settled themselves in Tyvokka’s outer robes, blinking up at him.
“Crèchemaster Corso is mad at you, Uncle?”
“No, little one,” Fae laughed softly, reaching down and lifting the smaller Kel Dor easily. Tyvokka clambered to his feet, grunting a bit as he did.
“Getting stiff in your old age, now are you?” Fae teased lightly and the Wookiee huffed at him.
«You’re not much younger than I am.»
Fae just laughed at that as Plo clicked happily, settled in their Uncle’s arms.
“And yet I have no problems getting up off the floor after sitting there for hours on end.”
The Wookiee huffed again as the three walked from the gardens.
And in hindsight, Fae would realize that there was a reason for why Plo had the habit of wandering off and finding Tyvokka— after all, was it not the Force that would bring Master and Padawan together?

Who Am I But A Collapsing Galaxy?
Fandom(s): Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars (Prequel Trilogy)
Rating: Gen/T
Summery: Picking up the pieces is always harder with grief weighing on on you. Sequel to “When Night Falls”
AO3
Okay I admit, I thought about turning this into Cin/Shaak comfort smut but decided against it because I just wasn't feeling the vibes
minor note: Varrom Selon is the name I gave the Grand Inquisitor if you haven't read any of my other Temple Guard works yet.
Dantooine was decent enough, Cin supposed. The Temple wasn’t in as much ruin as Yoda had suspected— though it would take a lot of work that they might not have to get it restored. For now, the Jedi were settled in ships, the Elders and Masters shielding the younglings and padawans, with the Knights filling in the gaps. Yoda’s shields alone were enough to put Cin’s shoulders at ease for a little bit.
But still, he had his reservations.
Dantooine was too out in the middle of nowhere with two Hyperspace Lanes too close for comfort. It was too predictable— of course, the Jedi would want to hide out in the middle of nowhere. On top of that, Skywalker might be gone, but how many others did the Sith have with him? Varrom Selon had clearly turned his back on them as well, going after the other Guard during the Chaos that had been the siege of the Temple before Shaak had killed him. Once all the Guard had arrived— all those who had survived, at least— Cin had taken a headcount.
The numbers that had once totaled to two-hundred and fifty-six had been cut down to a meager eighty-three. Over half had been killed by either the Clones, Skywalker, or Selon.
The Core Guard, the Guards who were the closest to him, most trusted by him, it had been decimated.
Nira Tal killed by Selon, Hakra Dragoa shot over and over in the chest as he moved to protect a group of fleeing padawans, Tacar Anulig choked to death by Skywalker, and Saa Kowa, Adona Haalim, and Lofanurra… had stayed behind with several others to ensure their escape. Sienna Tanneri and Styr Rox had both reported that Yin’Shinhen had been killed by Selon as well.
That meant that of the core, only Mari Gildow, Ashe Lark, and Syo remained along with the Charhound, Roq
Flin Ros-Vel. Mavvo Veenningels. Cimzo Mes. Ner Askau Maar. Kita Sheridan. Eder Rhis, Chahnoi Roka, Selah Mars, Dron Uttox, Kara Le, Eyal Trut…
And those were only a handful of those among the Guard whose names were among the dead— and still, hundreds more had yet to be fully noted down. Thousands more. The Jedi Order was gone, or at least the Order as Cin had known it.
Now, their already small numbers had been cut down even more.
Several killed because of the Yinchorri Uprising before Naboo, Qui-Gon dead on Naboo, over a hundred dead on Geonisis at the start of the war— and how many more had died throughout the War? How many were slaughtered and left to be unburied the night that the Temple Fell? The night when the Clones turned on them?
Too many. And there were too many gaps left to fill.
Of the Masters who remained, only five of the twelve Councilors survived— Oppo Rancisis, who had met up with Tera Sinube when the Order had been Issued, Shaak Ti and Coleman Kcaj, who had both been at the Temple with Cin, and Obi-Wan Kenobi and Grandmaster Yoda who both survived the Order.
And the seven other seats needed to be filled somehow.
Fae Koon had taken his nephew’s seat with a grim look, and Cin had allowed himself to be set in Kit’s old seat. He didn’t dare look at Tholme as the Master sat where Saesee had once been. Jocata had gracefully taken her old position back, though sat where Ki-Adi had once been, while T’ra Saa had silently accepted the seat of her former Padawan between Yoda and Fae. Vokara Che had taken up Stass Allie’s seat, and a ‘rescued-just-in-time by Voolvif Monn’ Depa Billaba had taken up her old seat as well.
But a Council did not make the Order, only gave it a sense of stability. And even within the Council storms and tensions brewed.
The sense of stability was a farce, with both he and Vokara rarely attending Council in person— Vokara preferring to listen from where she was in the makeshift Healing Ward and Cin from where he stood with the rest of the Guard watching the skies. Cin had tried to refuse a seat on the Council, but in the end, they had won out.
Still, Oppo Rancisis’ righteous anger that Skywalker had been made a Knight so soon— which had surely lead to his downfall as well— clashed with the deep-rooted grief that clouded Fae Koon’s presence, the eldest of the Koons had lost so much already, to lose the child who had been like a son to him… Cin could only imagine how much nearly four hundred years of time together hurt with Master Plo Koon gone now.
Vokara Che’s constant check-ins and interruptions from the makeshift Healing Ward only sparked more worry among the Councilors (It was strange to even think that he was counted among them anymore), and there was the minor detail that Anakin Skywalker had apparently been the father of two children, the two of which Kenobi had brought with him and Yoda.
Twins.
And extremely powerful in the Force.
It was... worrying.
Furthermore, Yoda was wavering, wanting to step down from Grandmaster— wanting to leave the Order. Wanted to make him Master of the Order. Cin refused and would keep refusing. He had allowed himself to be seated as a Councilor, but he wouldn’t allow any other tasks to keep him from the Guard save for finishing up Bene’s training— even if some who had given up viewed it as pointless.
There were just too many things to do, Cin knew. But they all needed to be addressed... eventually.
There were many questions still, what were they to do now?
Rebuild, shore up defenses, and fight back, or scatter and hide and wait for an opportunity? Create a rebellion against this Empire that was rising or work in the shadows in silence? Try and contact those who had left like Ahsoka Tano or Eeth Koth or fade into obscurity?
And on top of that, there had been a storm brewing inside of Obi-Wan. Something violent and burning. Ready to burst forth and Cin knew what it was about. Like any parent, any Master, the other man was reluctant to believe the truth about Skywalker. That he had lead Clones onto the Temple’s grounds, had fought to kill, had done all that he had done. As if Cin didn’t have an ugly scar that went from shoulder to hip to prove it. As if Cin hadn’t lost full range of one of his arms because of Skywalker.
But Cin knew that a confrontation had been coming, he had been the one to kill Skywalker, after all.
He had hoped that it wouldn’t be today.
It rained more on Dantooine than it did on Courscant, despite both planets having temperate climates.
From what Cin could remember, Coruscant only had an average of a fifth to a fourth of the year having rainy days, and very rarely all day or weeks on end. And here on Dantooine, it had been raining for a week and a half straight.
The very young children who didn’t quite know what was going on were having fun splashing around under the watchful eyes of the Crèche Masters and members of the Guard who weren’t standing on lookout or patrolling the fields around their makeshift base. Some of the Padawans were as well, and maybe he saw one or two Masters and Knights sitting in the rain as well, but who knew. He didn’t leave the spot where he had positioned himself out in the front of the base.
Cin recalled that it rained much more on Lavisar. He had only gone back once or twice during his Padawan years, however. And if it wasn’t raining, the sky was still dark with smoke, smog, and dust. The cons of a mining and manufacturing planet, he supposed.
Rain made the new scars burn, an uncomfortable feeling accompanied by an equally uncomfortable itching feeling. Some days they ached, but that was beside the point.
He felt Obi-Wan Kenobi’s presence before he saw him stop next to him, the hood of his robes up and protecting him from the rain as best it could while Cin remained still and silent. Cin had since stopped tying his hair in a loose, partially back state, and the long strands remained in a tight bun out of his face, but it wasn’t as if it did much for him after standing in the rain for so long. It barely had time to dry before Cin was back outside, watching the skies for any danger.
Nonetheless, it wasn’t as if Kenobi’s cloak did much more for him in terms of keeping the rain off if he planned on just standing outside next to him.
“So,” Kenobi started after a long silence. “You killed him.”
Cin was silent for a moment longer, closing his eyes for a moment. It seemed as if they were doing this today.
“I did,” He confirmed after opening his eyes again. “I believe I gave a full report to the rest of the Council. If you still have doubts, then there are many others among our numbers who can give you the details and confirm what I had done.”
There was another pause.
“Killing is not the Jedi way, Master Drallig.”
“Is that so? Then by all means,” he starts, not looking over to the other Jedi. “Please, tell that to the numerous Guards he murdered in an attempt to get past us.”
“Is all you care about the Temple Guard?”
The sentence was blurted out, and Cin had to suppress a sigh. Obi-Wan Kenobi was grieving, was in so much pain. It would do Cin no good to lash out at his lineage… great-nephew. He knew that. Still, the comment dug deep. It was something that Cin was often criticized for— why not extend that care to the other Jedi as others do? But… it was because of that love for other Jedi that he didn’t.
“Kenobi. If I do not care for the Guard, who will? Do you remember where they stand all the time? Do you remember that they are there, that they live their lives without names in order to Serve other Jedi?” he asked him. Remind yourself, that Skywalker marched into the Temple with part of the 501st Legion, into our home where our children, our elders, and injured were with the intent to kill them all. I did what I had to.”
“You could not have captured him?”
He turned fully to Kenobi at that, looking up at the slightly taller man.
“Kenobi, if he wanted to be captured alive, he shouldn’t have marched on the Temple and killed so many, ordered his men to kill so many. I watched him strangle one of my Core Guard in front of me, watched as she struggled, clawed at the invisible hands holding her, watched her fall limp and get tossed aside like a rag-doll— you tell me, Kenobi, how was I supposed to capture him alive when it was clear he was already gone?”
The silence stretched between them, the only noise that could be heard was the sound of the rain and the sound of the children playing far in the distance. Kenobi took a breath, tugging at his hood.
“I loved him, Master Drallig, he was my brother… like a son to me…”
Cin’s eyes softened a bit at that. “I know, I helped you train him in what little saber-fighting classes he chose to attend,” he told him softly. “It hurt, knowing that child had become so hateful, so swayed by the Dark.” He turned back to the fields, gazing straight ahead. “But, I could not show mercy. Because what hurt more was knowing that very few of the Guard that stood with us as the Iron Wall would not make it out alive.”
Silence fell between the two of them again and then Kenobi sighed, shoulders sagging. “I understand,” he murmured. “Like how Anakin was to me, the Temple Guard are like family to you. And you lost… much more than I have—“ “Do not downplay your grief, Obi-Wan Kenobi,” Cin said sharply, making the other Master startle. “The grief you feel, the betrayal, the pain, the sorrow, it is not something that is lesser than mine— your pain is not lesser, Obi-Wan Kenobi. It is just as painful as mine, as Shaak Ti’s, as Bant Eerin’s, as the Koons’, as the Grandmaster’s, as Master Saa’s. Do not downplay it. You are not in the wrong for feeling what you feel. You not only lost someone important to you, but you also lost many others with the betrayal of the Clones.”
He was silent for a moment, letting Keno— no, Obi-Wan take in his words before tilting his head up, looking at the skies above again.
“Dantooine’s rain is beautiful,” he tells him. “And out here, no one can tell if it is rain or tears.”
Obi-Wan did not wish to be held, nor did he wish for others to see the tears he shed. And Cin continued to gaze up at the sky, giving the younger Master the privacy to let go of his emotions that he needed to in the Dantooine rains.
There was supposed to be a more explosive argument but I chose not to go that route
At least Depa lived!
I'm also very tired while editing this so it might be hella off.

Kel Dor, the Dorin Religion, and the Spirits Connected to It
The Kel Dor religion is one that is Polytheistic in nature. That said, it is not something that is extremely prominent in every day life— or at least not anymore.
The Kel Dor still revere and recognize the Spirits— especially the Wind Spirits and Storm Spirits— as beings that exist and should be respected, and many still stick to old traditions such as creating wind chimes for the Spirits to play and entertain themselves with, or naming their children names that are short syllabled (one to three at most), or leaving little offerings out (this can be food, trinkets, or even just bits of brightly colored fabric) for them, but sacrificing, worship, idols? Those just aren’t things that the Kel Dor do for the Spirits.
And certainly, at one time in the past, they had, but that was very, very long ago.
The Kel Dor do hold one festival in reverence for the Spirits, though this also acts as a celebration for what they consider to be their new year and in celebration for the calming of the storms above for a few days. This festival is called the “Festival of Winds” and is the only festival and holiday on Dorin that is plant-wide recognized.
When it comes to death, Kel Dor view death as something that is more akin to “returning to the winds” as the general legend is that the Kel Dor were once Spirits as well, though were given physical form. Depending on how deep into the religion that one gets, there’s a cycle of rebirth and so forth, but generally Kel Dor accept two things about death and the Spirits: when one dies their Kut or soul returns to the Winds and resides with the Spirits again, and when one dies it is impolite and disrespectful to call upon their Kut for up to three hundred years, as that is a resting period for their Kut to be settled.
Furthermore, even if one did call upon one’s Kut is not recommended o do so, as the Spirits are fickle and you might not always get who you’re looking for— or at least that’s the tale that people tell. No one’s actually sure if you can actually call upon one’s Kut or not.
It is easy to see that, while the other Spirits are just as respected and revered, those of the Wind hold a very important spot for the Kel Dor in this way, though there rarely seems to be any ill consequences because of it.
That said, most of this is simply things among the common Kel Dor, within the Sages, the concept of the Spirits and the religion that circles around it is a bit different.
As the Sages are the Kel Dor version of the Jedi Order, there are aspects of the Force that are woven into the concept of the Spirits. Electric Judgement, for example, is something that is attributed to the Spirits through the Force and granted to those who are worthy of holding the power to judge others.
There are two sects of the Baran Do that stem from the Spirits as well: the Storm Casters and Wind Walkers.
The Storm Casters is headed by the Sage Ban Sult, a powerful Kel Dor who would have made a top tier Jedi, had he chosen to join the Jedi instead of remain on Dorin and join the Sages. The Storm Casters, while not judges nor those who hold political position among the Kel Dor, do practice Electric Judgement, along with the bending the Force to bring storms to them.
Ban Sult’s lightning is purple in color, signifying the strength behind it.
Plo Koon is in this sect, however, as he is also a Jedi, he does not have to uphold the duties of a Storm Caster— which is to direct, predict, and combat the storms that rage across Dorin.
The Storm Caster Sect of the Sages has it’s name from the Storm Spirits, the very ones they combat to drive off storms that threaten the less protected areas of Dorin. Not every practicer of Electric Judgement is a Storm Caster, however, but many who are and are in the Sage Order often are.
The other Sect, the Wind Walkers is very different.
Externally, they are similar, as they are a sect that tracts the wind patterns that bring storms and disaster across Dorin, however they are much more in tune to the Sprits than their counterpart.
Even with technology, the Winds are hard to track and predict, so Wind Walkers have aid in doing so.
This is where the interesting part comes in— many who hear of the Dorin religion simply brush it off as another religion with no physical aspect if they’re not a part of the religion already. A big “my religion is real but yours isn’t” except... it’s not quite that.
The Wind Spirits are at least some form of creature that exists among them— offerings are taken, children are spirited away, wind chimes and objects move when there is no wind... a strange phenomenon, for sure.
The head of the Raal Clan and Baran Do Sage, Shir Raal, speculates that, when taking the Force into account, the Spirits could possibly be powerful Force Sensitives who have passed on but have since lost their identities and have simply continued on as ‘Spirits’ instead. But this could be theory only, no one is quite sure why or what the Spirits are.
But they’re strong, and sentient enough.
That is why the Wind Walkers are different than the Storm Casters, as the aid that the Wind Walkers get is directly from Wind Spirits.
There are not many Wind Walkers, as contracting a Spirit is a very careful process, but there are enough to cause a difference— and a few even off world.
Fae Koon, Plo Koon’s Uncle and a Jedi and Sage as well, is one such as these. The Wind Spirit he is contracted to is known to them as “Etu'soh'Makai-Du'ul-Siksta” or “The One Whose Wind Cuts Through The Darkened Sleep” which is to say the one whose wind howls in the night.
Another Wind Walker is contracted to “Ahk’arti’Makai-Ramhet’Bekir” or “The One Whose Wind Sheers With Riotous Energy” and there are many more yet unnamed. However, no one as of yet knows of any Storm Spirits or other Spirits’ names, the only names that are known are those belonging to the Wind Spirits.
Most spirits do not assume any sort of physical form and remain dormant within the Walker, but every so often they will take on a form or take control of the Walker.
Nonetheless, there are many secrets that the Baran Do and the Kel Dor chose not to reveal when it comes to the Spirits, for one reason or another, and the Wind Walkers and their act of contracting the Spirits is something that is not talked about often, if at all, outside of the Baran Do Sage Order. Though there have been notes of Jedi being slightly uneasy around Fae Koon at times...

Star Wars but its in the style of Whats On The Menu For The Emiya Family and every episode is a bunch of the Jedi who aren’t just the main disaster Trio going about their day and ending with a good meal—
Lineages/Families I’d like to see:
T’ra, Mace, Depa, and Caleb
Agen and Eeth (something spicy for the Zabrak bois. Like Coruscant’s spiciest curry or summn, bonus points for Everything is Good And No One Dies AU where Tan’s alive and with them)
All Three Koons (make Plo’s family canon again)
Alternatively: Plo, Lissarkh, Bultar, and Ahsoka
Voolvif, Moudama, and all the 03 only Jedi
Cin, Serra, and Bene
Kit, Bant, and Nahdar
luminara and barriss
Stass Allie and Adi Gallia
Ki-Adi and all his family
Tholme, Quinlan, and Aayla
The Temple Guard
Tiplee and Tiplar
Jaro and Cal
All of the Clone Wars Padawans (Ahsoka, Whie, Knox, Bene, Ferren, Baylis, etc) and they’re just having a fun slumber party
Maybe a flashback episode with Plo and Tyvokka
Or Yoda, Cin, Ki-Adi, Dooku, Qui-Gon, Kit, and a teeny Obi-Wan
Or Micah and Bultar
Basically I want Jedi Families who aren’t as common + Food

Note
do you happen to have any spare kel Dor headcanons? not on any particular subject, i just really like yours.
DO I EVER!!
Here are only some of them because I have many and these are the ones I have on hand atm. There are some things from Legends that I’ve mixed in, mostly just to tie some headcanons together. im also compiling a fan made index of words for the kel dor that i can post at a later date hahaha
- A Kel Dor’s first name holds no major meaning like most other species' names would, but is an onomatopoeia from the various noises that the storms and planetary noises that are made on Dorin (this is partially canon but then again Legends is just not canon now so whatever). What is important are the last names, as those are attached to Clans and have actual meaning to them.
- Kel Dor Clan Names are based on the Clan's original trade or job. The Koon family name, for example, meant 'explorer' while the Raal name means 'reader' and Keevil is one of many ways that had been used to say 'navigator' in the ancient days
- Often a Kel Dor's given name is single syllabled but there are those who expand to up to three, however those are rare. One and two syllabled names are more common and recognized.
-This is due to an ancient superstition about the "wind spirits" of Dorin. Upon hearing the sustained wind-sound of a long name, so the story went, the wind spirits would have mistaken the child for one of their own, and carried him or her off to be raised as a wind-child.
- Though depending on where you are on the planet, the superstition can change to where children who didn’t have short names that matched the noises were spirited away because the spirits believed, as the Kel Dor were seen as the “children” of the spirits, that those children with names that were too long were not their “children” and took it upon themselves to “rid” their “children” of the imposters.
(More under the cut)
- The Spirits, in Kel Dor culture, love to play and Wind Chimes will keep them busy in general. Having a wind chime near your bed or the bed of the child with the longer name kept you or them safe from being stolen away because the spirits were too busy playing with the chimes to even think about taking the person away.
- The tradition of using the sounds of planetary phenomena mean that Kel Dor given names appear to have almost no meaning to an outsider, but another Kel Dor who had heard the sound in question and could identify the phenomenon would understand the significance and meaning of the name. But still, the Kel Dor don’t hinge their lives or any sort of care on that name. For them it is the Clan name that holds importance, as many name meanings do overlap
-For example, Ban Sult's name has next to no meaning to a human, but to the Kel Dor they know that Ban comes from the Dorin equivalent to a Skyquake and for the Sult Clan that signifies one who is courageous and spontaneous
- Plo’s name corresponds to the thunder and is given to one who will become wise and strong. Sha’s is in reverence to the sound of the rain when wind blows it around, and has the same root meaning of Plo’s.
- Saf Koon’s— Sha’s Mother and Plo’s sister— is similar to Sha’s in that it is the noise that is created when rain comes down in sheets but is blown by the wind. Saf has the meaning of new beginnings.
- Fae Koon’s is in reference to the wind that goes through the mountains while Ath Lirn’s to the wind that goes through the valley— both share the same meaning of one who is of compassion and joy.
- Tep Raal is the noise rain makes when it hits the ground and is the name of one who is also strong and wise.
- Lun Feng’s name comes from the echo of thunder that is in the mountain valleys— a thing that is felt more than heard, and thus the meaning is so.
- It is considered it very bad luck to name a child away from Dorin. In the event that a hatchling is born off of Dorin, it is simply called as "An'ak'na" or "Child" until the parents can return to Dorin to name them.
- Kel Dor that are off planet and are meeting for the first time will introduce themselves as their Clan before they use their first name.
Usually it would go something like:
“I am of the Koon Clan Line, well met.”
“Ah, an explorer. Well met, I am of Eerm.”
“A Hunter then! Koh-to-yah, my friend. Your Clan is well, and wait for the days the winds bring you back home.”
- If a Kel Dor is greeting another in a formal setting and they do know one another, Clan names are still often brought into the greeting
“Koh-to-yah, Master Koon! It has been a long time, has it not? The Feng Clan sharpens its talons in anticipation for when the Winds lead you home."
“And to you my friend, I am certain the Koon Clan watches the horizon for when the Winds return you home as well."
- Kel Dor are basically immortal when it comes to age. They just. keep existing. They can be killed, obviously, but dying of old age was an unknown to them until they started interacting with people outside of Dorin. They just... released themselves into the force once they were ready. Though they didn’t call it the Force, they called it “returning to the winds”
- Back on the topic of the Wind Spirits for a moment, but belief of them ranges from Kel Dor to Kel Dor. Nonetheless, the Kel Dor don’t exactly worship the wind spirits as fervently anymore but they certainly believe in their existence still. They have a healthy respect for them and still keep with a lot of their traditions from the ancient days.
- Nearly every Kel Dor is force sensitive, but not all of them meet the requirements to be taken note of by the Jedi Order. Even those who would often do not go, though it varies from family unit within Clans. The Koon Clan sends some, most steamming from Plo, Fae, and Sha's direct relative line, along with Dural, Braga, and Kowa Clans having their own Jedi within the Order through out the millennia
- It's not actually rare for Kel Dor to be off of Dorin, but a lot like Shistavanens, it's harder to find them off Planet. Many will stick to Atmosphere type III planets. Keevil, Koon, and Kowa are the most likely to be seen off planet— affectionately called the wandering Ks among the Kel Dor— as they are navigators, explorers, and merchants.
- That said, the most insufferable of the Kel Dor that was off planet at during the twilight years of the Republic was their last Senator before 19 BBY— Sage and Senator Lun Feng.
- Lun Feng is a living terror to the Senate whenever anything towards the Order, the GAR, Dorin, or Dorin’s Allies are brought up and the Senate Lives In Fear™
- You know how Plo Koon asks the Council chamber to lower oxygen? Lun does that in the middle of Senatorial Meetings if he feels as if someone's bigoted rant needs to be interrupted.
- Whenever Lun Feng brought up to the Council by the Senate, Plo just wheezes because yeah, they should’ve known better than to expect anything but difficulty to the Kel Dor.
- Before Feng, Nir Yilk was the Senatorial Representative with four aides, two of which were Dural and one was a Braga. The fourth was of Raal, much like one of Feng's aides— Tep Raal.
- Kel Dor gender is a very wide spectrum but have been boxed into three possibles due to outside culture while they’re off world. Kel Dor gender is based off of their minds. (we’re not gonna talk about physical differences because I have words about it)
- They have a fifteen click system that they use off Dorin, but Plo does state that there are far more than 15 genders among the Kel Dor because Gender is more or less something that just doesn't matter to them. All Kel Dor can bear and sire children, so why does it matter?
- As Kel Dor are not a mammalian species, if they were to cross species reproductively there is a much higher chance of crossing with other non mammals. However, cross species children are very rare no matter if the other partner is or isnt a non mammalian. This is in part that Kel Dor reproduction in general is somewhat difficult— the act isn't its just that no one is sure why there is a low hatch rate / low number of children who survive.
- Kel Dor in the Order aren't exactly exempt from the No Attachment Rule, unlike Cereans, but this is simply due to the population numbers of the Kel Dor being much higher than the Cereans. Sure a good chunk of them are hundreds of years old, but there's no urgency to reproduce— aside from the fact that Kel Dor adore children.
- Speaking of No Attachment, it gets rather difficult because the Kel Dor view attachment a bit differently than many other sentients. This is because the Kel Dor are a very communal species that creates emotional ties and mental 'webs' of connections with both friend and family.
- They thrive off of those connections and webs that they create and should their web be destroyed all at once, the psychic damage is very damaging to the point of a Kel Dor possibly dying. The damage can be controlled in one of two ways— entering a state of self induced Coma to heal slowly over time usually with the Kel Dor working mentally through the damage as well, or by another Kel Dor throwing up very, very strong walls to minimize the damage and assist in healing. The Kigh Clan specializes in this, though Fae Koon has some skill there as well.
- Should only a portion of the web or connections get destroyed at once, it is a bit easier to deal with. After Order 66 Saa Kowa and Fae Koon both managed to sustain minimal damage due to their larger web of connections with the Sages back on Dorin.

For Their Hands Are So Small In Mine
Fandom(s): Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars (Prequel Trilogy), Star Wars: Legends / EU
Rating: K/T
Summery: Fae Koon returns to the Temple after sixty years, but he’s not alone— instead, he has the child of his brother with him.
Aka: Tyvokka’s first instance in meeting a six-year-old Kel Dor, who just so happens to be his future padawan.
AO3
If you didn't know or are new to my page: Plo Koon does have an Uncle according to Legends, but he's not mentioned by name and we have no idea what happened to him.
I took this bit of information and created a full character for him. Fae shows up in some of my other works and I have a whole series collection with him just in my writing.
The thing about Kel Dor, Tyvokka had noticed over the many years, was that if they did not wish to be found at all, you best not rely on the Force to help you find them.
Sixty years ago, he learned that fact over again, when he watched as his grief-stricken friend turned his back to him on the Temple Stairs and left for who knew where. Back to Dorin, T’ra had suspected, though Klee Hesta had other thoughts. Altha had kept any she had to herself and Tyvokka didn’t know what to think, in truth.
Fae Koon was a confusing Kel Dor at times, but this time they all knew— he was rather unwell.
Lowel made three. Three students of his who had been killed. Lowel had made it to Knighthood— only to be shot by pirates the next week.
Lowel Kuo made three students of Fae Koon’s who were dead, and that meant that all three of his students had been killed. All three that he had trained, not a single one remained. He was three for three and the grief was soul-crushing.
So Fae had left, not the Order, just… away. Away from the Temple. Where to, Tyvokka did not know. His Comm went unanswered, and any attempts to use the bond that had been made among the five of them had failed.
But now, here he was— walking up the stairs to the Temple and looking a bit worse for wear, but the grief in his Force signature had cleared up some. That wasn’t what caught Tyvokka’s eye, however, but rather it was the child in his arms that caught his attention. A small thing, really, but weren't all children small?
“He wasn’t gone that long right?” T’ra asked as they watched their friend from one of the windows— Watching as he made his way up the stairs, dipping his head to Yoda who was waiting for him as he and one of the other Councilors left. “Right?”
“Sixty years is a long time, T’ra,” Altha mused, “Though this is rather interesting. I wonder if that is his child? It is possible another from Dorin asked for him to bring them to the Temple. From what little we know of the Kel Dor, they often are presented with the choice of the Order here or the Baran Do Sages. Perhaps a family member requested for Fae to bring their child to the Temple? A risk, certainly, with the traffickers running rampant, but not an impossible thought."
“I suppose...”
Tyvokka just grunted as the two speculated. He... was unsure what to think, truly. Certainly, if Fae had gotten married and had a child- either sired or bared- he would have contacted them at least, right?
He just sighed and shook his head before ‘hrmph’ing.
«Instead of speculation, we should go see for ourselves,» he rumbled, raising a brow and both Klee and T’ra looked at him before the two turned and headed down towards the stairs that would bring them down to the entrance of the Temple.
“Mm. You seem troubled, what ails you?” Altha asked as the centaur healer fell in step with him. The Wookiee huffed a bit as he followed the two of their agemates at a slower pace.
«Hardly. Concerned, not troubled. There’s a difference, I suppose.»
“Is there? Perhaps there is. But you were still worried about Fae.”
He just huffed again, shielding his eyes from the sun for a moment as he stepped out of the temple. T’ra was already putting Fae into a headlock, growling at him for taking off and cutting contact— Klee, on the other hand, seemed to be holding up the baby Kel Dor with the Force.
Odd.
Despite being a shadow, Klee normally had no issues with children.
He raised a brow to the other Jedi as he and Altha approached.
“Touch adverse,” Klee hummed, understanding the look. “Or so Fae says.”
At that, all three of them looked towards where Fae and T’ra were tousling. Fae was rather meek in comparison to the Neti, usually. It seemed as if his usual ‘going with what happens’ nature towards her had vanished as he slipped from her hold and twisted out of her reach again.
“It’s good to have you back, Fae,” Altha remarked as he dusted his robes off. Not his usual Jedi robes, though, the deep black and gold of the Dorin Sages.
Tyvokka had looked into the other Force Order, an Order far older than the Jedi and, depending on who you asked, far more powerful.
He had borne witness to the sheer power that those of Dorin channeled, with their deep connection and reference to winds and storms— to natural disasters and atmospherical phenomena.
The red lightning that Fae kept hidden from the Order, that only the Council knew of. Well, the Council and their small group of long-lived friends.
“It’s nice to be back,” came the deep and soothing voice of Fae as he gently took the small Kel Dor from Klee’s gentle use of the Force. “I have, admittedly, missed the Temple, though it was good to return to Dorin to both finish my training among the Baran Do and re-recenter myself after the loss of Knight Lowel Kuo.”
The Healer hummed as T’ra moved over to them again and Tyvokka’s gaze moved from Fae over to the child in his arms.
The child— hatchling, Tyvokka thinks Fae called juvenile Kel Dor once— hung onto Fae, but gazed around in a curious manner, taking in everything around them.
Already, though, he could tell that this child was strong in the Force.
“Who is the little one, Fae?” Klee asked as she moved to Altha’s side. “I never caught the name.”
Fae seemed to brighten a bit and Tyvokka raised a brow.
“This is Plo,” he said happily, and that was the happiest Tyvokka had seen him in years. “My Asys’na, the child of my sibling— my brother, Lorz’s, eldest child. They’re about six years old standard. His second child was born not very long ago, but Plo was entrusted to me to bring to the Temple."
“Oh? They're younger than you had been when you arrived,” T’ra teased lightly and Fae huffed.
“Well, they’re quite a bit stronger than I in the Force. Ban Sult and Nita Yilk suspected that they’d overtake one of them as either the Storm Caster or Wind Walker of the Sages— had Lorz not agreed to allow me to take them with me.”
The elder Kel Dor had such fondness in his voice and it was clear to see that this child was one that his dear friend held close to his heart.
«You plan on training them, then?» He asked and Fae just hummed. He had forgotten how much he had missed that mechanical timbre if he had to admit.
Not that he would. Klee and T’ra would never let him hear the end of it. Altha too, even if she was less direct./p>
“No,” he said after a moment. “I don’t think so. Kel Dor do not often teach other Kel Dor within the Order, I have noticed. Neither Guardsman Kowa nor did the one who brought me, Master Feng, teach me, and the few other Kel Dor within the Order I have seen did not or do not currently have Kel Dor masters. Our emotions and minds are too tightly interwoven, a Padawan-Master bond would lean too close to attachment.”
He hummed a bit again, thinking for a moment before shrugging. “I do not know what I will do for them though, supposedly many Kel Dor who bring others in often find a Master for their Charge. I do not recall if Master Gren’ta was a friend of Master Ith Feng or not… Ah, but they are young still, we have more than enough time.”
Tyvokka hummed, gazing down at the tiny Kel Dor in Fae’s arms who seemed to be staring at him rather intensely. Plo tugged on Fae’s robes, making the elder Kel Dor look down at the child of his brother.
They pointed to him, a soft series of clicks and whistles leaving them and Fae seemed to blink, tilting his head.
“Oh, that is Master Tyvokka, a close friend of mine.”
Another series and then Fae laughed softly before looking over to him. “Tyvokka?” «Hm?» “They wish to be held.” Tyvokka paused, blinking and glancing at Klee, the Sephi-like woman only shrugging in response, though she looked a bit put-off. A natural look when one realized that the baby didn't like them. Well, perhaps not baby, considering that Plo was six-years standard. But nonetheless.
«I thought they were touch adverse?» Tyvokka asked, raising a brow again and Fae inclined his head slightly. “Ordinarily, yes, but I do believe they’re curious about your fur. It is their first time seeing so much, you are a whole foot taller than I. And covered in it.”
Tyvokka rumbled a bit, amused, but held his arms out. «Very well.»
Fae carefully settled Plo in his arms and Tyvokka was startled with how tiny the Kel Dor was. Children were tiny in comparison to him— he was seven and a half feet tall with enough strength to tear off the arms of a trandoshan, so he knew that Plo was going to be small in his hold. He just didn't expect him to be this small.
And He vaguely remembered that Fae wasn’t much bigger when they were children, but it seemed as if Kel Dor children were absolutely tiny in comparison to their full-grown counterparts. Fae was six-foot-six, and Tyvokka knew he could easily carry the other in one arm if the situation called for it.
(It had once, Tyvokka had slung Klee over one shoulder, grabbed Fae around the waist, and made a run for it one mission in the Outer Rim.)
He could almost fit Plo in one of his hands, probably. He didn’t dare try, least he drop the youngling as they carefully touched and pat his fur, clicking softly.
They were… rather adorable. And very small. By the gods, a single one of their hands was about as wide as three of his fingers across.
Fae’s soft laughter made Tyvokka look over, a brow raised.
“Apologies, my friend. It’s just… quite a sight to see.”
He huffed in return, rolling his eyes, and turning, heading back into the temple with Plo still tucked into his arm, petting and acquainting themselves with the feeling of fur.
«Mine, now!» he called over his shoulder, almost like an afterthought.
“Wh- Hey! You can’t just steal a child! Tyvokka!”
The Wookiee just hid a grin, walking faster before breaking into a jog as he heard Fae and the others following after him. He glanced down at Plo for a moment, checking to see if they were alright and the tiny Kel Dor in his arm just looked up at him, head tilting as they chattered curiously.
There was a slight shift in the Force and Tyvokka rumbled softly. The feeling had no real explanation that was needed, it was something familiar to him after all. A shift in the Force, or perhaps a spark. It had been the same every time he had gone to choose a Padawan, after all. And perhaps Plo was far too young to start out, but nonetheless...
Fae could deal with teaching the little one Basic, because the first thing he was doing was getting Plo a translator droid.
Baby Plo is adorable, you can't change my mind
Just some further notes:
If you know me or have read anything in the Beautiful Words, Beautiful People series, you know that I headcanon Kel Dor to not really have the same concept of Gender as people do, and are all but without one until they reach their equivalent of puberty. And even then, some might choose to simply not choose any gender either. Definitely not self-promoting, but I would recommend reading it, especially if you want to know a bit more about my world of Kel Dor
Secondly, why isn't Plo speaking basic? At this point, Plo is still learning and just finds it easier to speak through the other verbalizations of the Kel Dor language. Why isn't Plo speaking the verbal and spoken version of Kel Dor I have been building? Because I'm lazy.
Yarael, Yaddle, Tyvokka, and T'ra Saa being agemates with the mystery uncle?
Well, we know Yaddle and Yarael served on the High Republic Council, which was almost 270 years before the Blockade of Naboo, where we first see Yaddle and Yarael. Yeah, this is all legends but like. Eh. So those two are clearly long-lived. T'ra Saa we know from legends was one of the oldest Jedi alongside Yoda to serve during the clone wars, and Tyvokka's a goddamn Force-sensitive Wookiee. Man's be old. They're agemates and give each other so much shit, as real siblings will. Fae's there because if you know me, you know that I follow Legends law of Kel Dor Are Really Fucking Old. A side note that's not super important, but they're still in the High Republic Era.
Why is Plo touch adverse? That's just another headcanon of mine, though Plo's curiosity of Large Furry Sentient overrides "No touchy" in Plo's six-year-old mind. Poor Yarael. Just wants to Hold The Baby.
EDIT: Yea i know technically Plo and Yaddle are closer in age than they appear here, i wrote this before I knew that but I don’t want to change it atm, Lets just call this an AU or something idk
Edit 2: So yeah, I removed Yarael and Yaddle from this because timeline and correct age-breaking. Plo is technically older than Yarael and Yaddle is only about a hundred years older than him, but going by Mando logic she’s not quite at a maturity level that’s much different from Plo so would still be considered a youngling

In Where Plo’s Sticker Habit Saves More Than Morale
Chapter 6: Returning Home Is A Wonderful Thing
Chapter Summary: Fae Koon returns to Coruscant after a two week long diplomacy mission.
Rating: K
Fandom: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (References to the Prequels) (2003 Character)
Pairing: Kit Fisto/Plo Koon
Extra Notes: Also on AO3 || AO3 Series Index
6/7 < Prev | Next > || Start
He's been mentioned before, but now, here he is in his full, uh, glory. Plo Koon's Uncle whose name is unknown so I gave him the name Fey Fae because I could.
Also on a more serious note, if you are currently in Texas please, please stay warm. Terracotta furnaces work, try and stick to one room in your house to keep as warm as possible, and don't take too many risks like attempting to drive right now. I can't do much but offer advice and fanfic right now, so please stay as safe and as warm as you can. There are a number of posts floating around Tumblr atm that offer advice [here] and [here]
Edit: I’ve changed some things— Fey is now simply spelled differently as “Fae” to avoid confusion in the Jedi Master Fay from Legends and Plo Koon’s Uncle who remained unnamed in Legends.
Fae Koon's joints ached.
It had been a long time since they ached like they were now, though he supposed that it was his own fault. Pushing himself to the limits and taking solo missions instead of accepting a battalion of his own, he supposed it was simply the price of his course of action. Certainly, he would be sore and stiff when he woke tomorrow. And really, given his age, he should consider retiring and returning back to Dorin.
But the war effort was long and harsh on everyone, and he couldn't throw the towel in yet.
Fae wasn't young anymore. Still as strong as ever— A Master, in his own right— but he wasn't young. Even if he did take on the more brutal, solo-missions and even if he was just taking on droids. Certainly, he was glad that it was just droids he had to deal with.
Just like his relatives, his skill in the force was very strong. Not as strong as Plo, of course. He was the High Council Master— Sha was still a Knight and Fae hardly considered himself to hold the title of Master— and he was one of the rare few who could conjure up the Lightning of Dorin in the form of what the Jedi called "Electric Judgement". Truly, his nephew was a talented one, even among the Baron Do— to his knowledge, only the highest in power among the ranks could conduct the white lightning of Dorin.
(Though he did know that Plo's bolts were an emerald green color. Perhaps there was more that the Elder Sages could tell them, perhaps it was simply because Plo handicapped himself for the sake of the Order. Who was to say? He hadn't studied the lightning storms extensively.)
Plo was very powerful for his age, there were those even older among the Sages who did not have as much as a grasp on the Force that he did. And Sha was coming into her own strength as well, despite being so much younger than the both of them.
Ah, but it was better to think of his nephew and grand-niece as being older than he knew they were, Fae reasoned as his steps carried him through the Barracks. Personally, he had no wish to think about his grand-niece out in the field. Just like he hated to think back on when he could've lost his nephew to the unforgiving vacuum of space.
But that was just how the Koon Clan was.
Compassionate and loving to a fault. Plo was so bursting with love in his heart that Fae sometimes wondered if the Jedi path was right for him— but it seems that his nephew had found a way around Attachments without being selfish.
Caring and forming attachments not because of what his men were to him, but who they were to themselves. Unless if actively put their lives at risk, Fae knew that Plo would never dissuade any of his men— his sons— from doing anything they wished to do.
(Fae loved all his grandnephews. It pained him whenever he could feel Plo's distress over his fallen sons. He wished it wasn't so and that the war would end soon so that his nephew could take his boys and retire somewhere where the clones could relax and be at ease. Though he also knew that Plo would be unlikely to ever leave the Order. They were, after all, both Koons, and traveling the galaxy was in their blood.)
Still, Fae sometimes wondered if his choice to join the Order was alright. If his choice to bring Plo into the Order, to help Plo bring Sha into the Order, if those choices were right. Plo would've been the strongest of the Sages from the Koon family line to date, had he chosen to stay and learn from the Baran Do instead. Revered and with a strong pull as one of their most prominent leaders— even now, it was only because Tila knew that Plo was a Jedi that kept her from appointing him to a higher position within the Sages.
But as laugher and shouts sounded from the Barracks, he knew that even if he had made the wrong choice, it wasn't one he'd change. Not for anyone, or anything.
Heads turned when the doors opened and he smiled behind his mask as Boost and Sinker's expressions morphed from confusion to joy.
"Ba'vodu!" both troopers greeted, waving from their spots atop of a stack of crates. Comet and Warthog both waved as well, the two of them going through the crates as soon as they were lifted down. Fae walked over to them, bowing slightly in greeting.
"Hello, boys," he greeted, reaching up and helping Boost off of the top of the crates with a simple use of the Force— Sinker dropping down without a thought after his brother was set down. "You wouldn't happen to know where my Nephew is?"
Ah, there were those shit-eating grins he missed so much from the two.
"Probably attached to General Fisto, sir!" Comet chirped happily and Warthog shook his head. "He and the 272nd arrived just before you did!"
Fae sighed in mock lament but smiled behind his mask.
"I suppose I'll have to break up the happy couple then?" he mused before shaking his head as Boost and Sinker snickered.
"Is there any maintenance you need to be done on your ship, General? I can head over to the Hangar, if you would like me to," Warthog offered, ignoring his brothers. He shook his head,
"It's quite alright, my boy," he told him easily, "The wonders of doing solo missions. And it was only a diplomatic talk this time, no worries there."
The pilot shrugged but nodded. "If you say so, sir."
He simply smiled behind his mask and pat him on the shoulder before he turned. "Well, make sure you drop by the briefing room later," he told the four over his shoulder as he headed off to where he knew his nephew was.
It wasn't hard to find him, to be fair. He had known Plo since he had been born, ingrained his force signature into his mind, and it was a beautiful thing. The Force, in general, was beautiful, and many sentients had no idea just how amazing it was.
But he digresses as he reached the door to Plo's office, allowing both his presence to be felt through the force and the mental link between him and his nephew before he knocked lightly on the metal door.
There was silence for a moment, two, stretching into more before the door slid open. His nephew's chosen, the Nautolan Master Kit Fisto, was sitting on the couch in the office, robes looking a bit hastily thrown on— wrinkled and untucked. He had a datapad in hand, looking up at him when he stepped in. But there was an air around him that made Fae raised a brow behind his goggles before he looked to his nephew, who was leaning against the front of his desk, another datapad in hand, though his own robes were a bit rumpled as well. And he was very much wearing Kit's outer robe instead of his usual one, which was folded over the back of his chair.
"Oh dear, I hope I wasn't interrupting," the Elder of the Koon Jedi said, amusement heavy in his voice and he saw Kit's head tresses curl from the corner of his eye.
Plo shifted. "Not at all, Uncle," he told him, lowering the datapad. "Have you just returned?"
"Recently yes," he answered, nodding, though he couldn't help but smile behind his mask. Plo was quite good at covering his flustered state, but he was nonetheless. It was adorable to see. Sha was so serious, honestly!
"I was simply dropping by to check on everything before I started on my report to Master Windu."
"Mission reports," Kit mused, nodding. "The bane of my own existence, among other things."
"I'm almost certain that Commander Monnk does those for you," Plo drawled, "Your handwriting is atrocious."
Kit made a huffing noise, tresses flicking a bit though there was a glint of humor in his eyes as he leaned forwards on his knees a bit. "Mace said my handwriting was fine, Plo."
"And yet neither Shaak nor Ki-Adi will read the reports you send in," his nephew mused, clicking in amusement as he leaned back again. Kit raised a brow, scowling as he waved the statement off.
"Ki-Adi's finicky about that garbage and Shaak doesn't even do her own reports now, just sends a holo instead of paperwork," he countered, grinning.
FAe tilted his head as he watched the two.
"Are you certain I didn't interrupt anything?" he asked again, grinning behind his mask when the two startled, attention snapping back to him and his grin only grew at the darker flush of green spreading across Kit's face and the darker red hue across Plo's.
Kit coughed a bit. "Apologies, Fae," he said and the elder Jedi just laughed in return, hands clasped carefully behind his back.
"Think nothing of it," he told the Nautolan. "It's refreshing in truth." He sighed, cradling his head with one hand carefully. "Plo used to be so serious after he was first put on the Council."
"Uncle!"
Fae shook his head in mock lament, ignoring the indignant clicks from his nephew. "Where was the little 'dor that Tyvokka and I looked after? Dear me, I was worried I would have to write to Lorz that his son was becoming just like our Otu."
Plo just made another clicking noise, rolling his eyes behind his goggles. Kit chuckled.
"Nonetheless, Uncle It's good to know that you're well," his Nephew said, affection bleeding into their bond, and Fae smiled softly.
"Thank you, my Nephew," he said lightly before he bowed. "Well, I won't leave you two from each other for much longer," he added, humor in his tone as both the younger Jedi Masters' signatures spiked slightly- embarrassment, he thinks.
He just laughed as he turned back to the door, leaving with a smile. He did have to head down to the briefing room, after all.
Fae smiled and nodded to a few of the 104th Soldiers that he passed. Ember, he recognized with the strangely bright, amber eyes that his brothers didn't have, and of course, Ghost was with him, both carrying medical supplies. Both of them nodded to him as Nox slipped past all three of them, long hair tied back in a braid as he hurried down the hall, looking more than suspicious. Fae's curiosity was sated when he saw Nex chasing after him, his normally dark hair dyed a bright pink color and Ghost rolled his eyes as they continued on their separate ways.
Data and Cable were in the briefing room, with a Jedi Master that Fae was unfamiliar with dozing on one of the couches that the boys had brought in— though knowing Wolffe, Boost, and Sinker, it was more like stole. Probably from the Five-Oh-First. Both brothers were sitting on the back of the couch, Cable seemed to be watching the Shistavanen Jedi.
"Hey, Ba'vodu," Data greeted, not looking up from the datapad he was looking through. Cable waved a bit as Fae bowed to them.
"Hello, you two," he said gently, walking over to the large table that was supposed to be for strategic planning but was mostly covered in nicknacks and food at the moment.
"How was your mission, Sir?" Cable asked voice soft as the Shistavanen flicked an ear.
He chuckled softly. "It went well," he told him, tone just as soft as the other's. "Who is your friend there?"
Data looked up at that, his normally stoic face softening a bit. "Voolvif Monn. He's our other General now," he told him, "Lost his entire battalion in an ambush that left them buried alive in a ravine."
Fae walked around the table and over to the couch, gazing down at the sleeping canine and gently reaching out. Monn's mind was tense, scared, and weary, but it was healing. Slowly but surely, the bitter pain was easing, being filled with the warmth of the 'Pack, with Plo and Kit and the 272nd, and little Ahsoka too. His gaze softened before he withdrew and turned to the two brothers.
"You boys are taking good care of him?" he asked and Cable looked almost offended.
"Ba'vodu," he gasped in mock offense. "As if we would do anything but!"
He laughed gently at that before he dug through his robes and pulled out a brown flimsibag and opened it.
He had to admit that his Nephew had good ideas, and every time he was off of Coruscant but still in the Core Worlds, he ended up looking around for the colorful adhesives that Plo had started to hand out to his soldiers— his sons— in the 104th. They were few and far between, but he had found some on his last diplomatic mission.
But that was beside the point as both Cable and Data perked up upon seeing what he was handing over to them both.
"Really?" Cable asked with a grin and Fae smiled, nodding.
"I do believe that you boys have a competition going on?" he asked as he set the bag on the table.
"Hell yeah we do," Data grunted, leaning back as far as he could without falling over the back of the couch. Fae chuckled again.
"There should be one for each of your brothers in there," he told the two as he headed back towards the door. "Good luck to you all. Do tell me who wins, this week."
"Yes, sir!"
He waved as he left the briefing room, a happy hum settling in his mind as he walked, back through the barracks. Grey paint began to blend with Green, Red, and Blue as he left, bowing and nodding to the other soldiers he knew and he smiled under his mask as he gazed up at the Coruscant sky.
It was nice to be back home.
[slams hands down]
anyways I love Fae. If you haven’t read my other fics, basically Kel Dor’s concept of gender has only been influenced by the other worlds. They’re nonbinary until a certain age, then they follow whichever feeling to either end of the spectrum. Some stay in the middle, others fall all along the spectrum— there’s no definite man/woman in the culture, but off-world they use male/female/nonbinary because it's easier. All Kel Dor can sire or bear children. Don't think too much about it.[slams hands down] anyways I love Fae. In regards to the original note about the original word for "parent" in Kel Dor, I have since changed that as I slowly create a small index for Kel Dor words:
Otu: Parent, both singular and plural.
Fae's mother is named Bou and his Otu is name Kier— which is close to the patriarch of the Koon Clan’s name, Kyr.
edit 2: Im not quite sure how i want to deal with Plo Koon’s parents, part of me wants to kill them both off ages ago for maximum pain but I also love the idea of Plo having a decent but not close relationship because he was raised in the temple. No idas yet as of 2022 lol

first off, dont apologize, it’s cool.
Secondly, since this is getting off the ground again (idk which one of y’all reblogged it but hey, it’s back and im inspired) here are my thoughts:
Mace excells as using his speed and strength in tandem, while Depa uses her speed and smaller stature to unbalanced opponents. As you stated, Vaapad uses hand-to-hand, so it makes sense that the two would be very good at using it— Caleb is picking up some things as well, though isn’t as good yet.
Obi-Wan is good at street fighting and is a mixed bag. He picked up some things from Vos, some from Siri, learned on the fly, and sat in on some of Cin’s lesser attended classes.
Luke is a street fighter, learned from growing up in Tatooine. Knows how to hold his own in scraps and small fights, but wouldn’t be able to hold up against a formal master.
Here’s where more thoughts come in:
Shaak Ti is a right monster when it comes to hand to hand. As are Agen Kolar, Eeth Koth, Kit Fisto, Voovlif Monn, Oppo Rancisis, and all three Koons.
Granted, there is the upper hand of not being human. But as Master Ip said, it’s not about gender, age, or race but about the person themselves to show their prowess.
Shaak Ti is graceful and powerful, quick and deadly. She’s not nicknamed as the Council’s strongest for no reason, after all.
Agen and Eeth are Zabrak. We all know how Maul and Savage fight, now lets add in some elegance.
Eeth, much like Depa, uses his smaller stature to get the upepr hand. Striking from below and quickly. Agen is taller than Eeth, so he uses that to his advantage. The two are a deadly pair both together and against one another, and it’s gonna take a lot more to take them down than it is to knock a human out.
Kit Fisto i personally see as a practitioner of Teräs Käsi, much like his Uncle, Neaed. According to the wiki, the basic translation means “Steel hand” and was renown throughout the galaxy for its lethality. We’ve all seen how built Kit Fisto is, we know he’s strong in general. And we’ve seen him move quickly. He’s got the strength, speed, and formal teachings to absolutely obliterate someone.
Voolvif Monn and Oppo Rancisis are a bit different. They’re further from human than the others in form and senses.
Voolvif is a Shistavanen, a natural preadator with more animalistic qualities than Kit Fisto or Shaak Ti or the Zabraks would have. His first tactic is fear. Shistavanens are known for being rarely seen across the Galaxy, and as per SW Canon/Legends, Voolvif is the only Shistavanen jedi pre and during the Clone Wars (that I know of at least). Safe to say, he just puts people on edge. And then getting into a fight? He’s got keen instincts, and is a natural born hunter. Stamina, strength, speed— he’s a tough opponent and hits hard.
Oppo is just as fast and just as strong, but you have to watch out because he has four arms and a strong tail. You get whipped by that upside the head and you will be down. Oppo is old and patient, he’s been in a fight or two before without his lightsaber.
The Three Koons are... another case like Kit Fisto.
We know canonically, Plo Koon is a Baran Do Sage. While not required, the Baran Do did have “the option of learning certain martial arts, though the only weapon they commonly trained in was a simple wooden staff”. I like to think that Plo learned and mastered the art— perfected it, and mixed it with other martial arts he knew. Remember, Plo Koon is just like Oppo Rancisis, he’s old, and he’s patient. And he’s fast. We’ve seen him in battle with a lightsaber, we’ve seen how fast he can move. He strikes hard, and strikes fast.
And so Sha and Plo’s Uncle? Sha, I headcanon, learned from her uncle and great uncle. She’s fast, she’s powerful, and she’s smart. She knows where to look for weaknesses.
Uncle Koon I also headcanon was a Sage as well. So just like Plo, he learend the Baran Do’s martial arts. Just as fast, just as quick, but he’s less likely to pick a fight now than he was when he was younger.
“But Kiwi, what about other humans?”
Well, I’m getting there.
Anakin has next to no skill in martial arts. Yeah, he can throw a punch, he can do street fighting, but had no patience to learn the full extent and dicipline.
The ones you really want to watch out for, though. That would be Bultar Swan, Micah Giiett (may he rest in peace), Tholme, Dooku, Cin Drallig, and Sera Keto.
Bultar Swan was Micah Giiett’s student before she was Plo’s— and Micah actively encouraged her not to rely only on her Lightsaber. In fact, Bultar prefered unarmed combat and had never taken a life up unti Geonosis. She would use her saber if needed, but prefered to fight hand to hand. Hell, she learned Teräs Käsi and the Verdanaian "sliding hands" under Micah and later blended the two together.
So yeah, she’s strong and she’ll use her small size to kick your ass.
(Ever seen a tiny asian woman kick someone’s ass? Same vibe. And I mean it. Bultar is the Asian Rep of the Jedi Order because [incomprehensable grumbling about how Lucas took culture but didn’t get asian actors really])
(And Lissarkh’s hella good too because no way was she gonna get one-upped by Bultar. Lissarkh’s got the instinct, the predatory talent, the strength and the ambition to rise up. She has the patience to learn and the skill to rival her friend and sister)
And we know Micah’s strong as hell just based off of that.
Tholme canonically is very powerful in his own right. He’s a powerful saber duelist and also trained in the ways of the Anzati assassintion. But more importantly, Tholme is a healer. He knows the body, knows how to heal it, but also knows how to undo that. Knows your pressure points, knows how bones break the easiest and people underestimate him because he prefers to work behind the scenes as a mastermind of events, rather than a diplomat or a warrior. He uses that to his advantage— and his kicks hurt like hell after his encounter with Dooku. Shit hurts when you’ve been axe kicked by a metal prosthetic. Besides, someine had to teach Quinlan his skills as well.
(Quinlan’s also good but like, these are the folks i wanna focus on)
Dooku is a perfectionist. A strong mind equals a strong body, and the stronger the body the more fluid the saber style. I belive makashi is based off of fencing and idk about y’all but fencing is hard. There’s balance, there’s more than just smacking a sword around— no. Dooku strove for elegance, and there’s elegance to Martial arts.
Also he didn’t want to keep getting the daylights knocked out of him when Cin and him fought over the last bit of Caf.
Cin’s the battlemaster. And the head of the Guard. To be the strongest defense, you have to understand and know offense. Sabers can  be taken, lost, thrown out of reach— you need to be able to defend yourself then. And Cin does just that. He’s the one who teaches the children how to do hand to hand basics, how to throw a punch without injury. He’s the one to watch out for. And mostly it started because Dooku left an empty carton of juice in the fridge.
Canonically, Cin developed his own unique styles of lightsaber combat that were based upon on enhanced speed and unconventional and unpredictable movements, and throwing a fist in the middle of a saber fight is certainly unconventional.
And it would make sense that Serra, Cin’s student, would follow suit. She followed his teachings, was attentative to his training— she’s fast, unpredictable, and unconventional, not to mention very inclined acrobatics. She’ll hit hard where it hurts before creating distance with a back handspring while kicking you in the jaw.
There’s not enough fist fighting in SW

Cool. This is really interesting and in def.
A big “my religion is real but yours isn’t” except… it’s not quite that.
The Wind Spirits are at least some form of creature that exists among them— offerings are taken, children are spirited away, wind chimes and objects move when there is no wind… a strange phenomenon, for sure.
Nonetheless, there are many secrets that the Baran Do nor the Kel Dor chose not to reveal when it comes to the Spirits, for one reason or another, and the Wind Walkers and their act of contracting the Spirits is something that is not talked about often, if at all, outside of the Baran Do Sage Order. Though there have been notes of Jedi being slightly uneasy around Fae Koon at times…

Note
I never get sick of Kel Dor headcanons.
do you happen to have any spare kel Dor headcanons? not on any particular subject, i just really like yours.
The Koon Clan sends some, most steaming from Plo, Fae, and Sha's direct relative line, along with Dural, Braga, and Kowa Clans having their own Jedi within the Order through out the millennia
