Jackie and Shauna are definitely winning at most fucked up canon wlw pairing at the moment... Just watched heavenly creatures for the first time and some things are clicking.

Once you realize that Jennifer's body and heavenly creatures set the tone for those two from the start everything sort of makes sense.

#there are plenty of fucked up wlw pairings but these two are def winning for me #it's pretty insane #it's a bit shocking how the writers didn't realize it was more than platonic friendship until after s1 aired #it's wild cause like you cast the actress that played lead on heavenly creatures to play the role #then you hire the director of jennifer's body to direct the pilot of a season where the core relationship is centered around those 2 girls #it's complex and layered and toxic and tragic and heartbreaking and pure and rotten and you make sure it lasts forever #and also you shot it and you hired actresses that have this insane chemistry that gets mistaken by romantic chemistry repeatedly irl #and yes it ends up reading as romantic cause it's a bit wild that all this things happened without intending to #idk I'm having many thoughts #yellowjackets #jackie x shauna #shauna x jackie #shackie #shaunajackie #jackieshauna

i know steve dangle's overenthusiastic overinvested thing is his shtick, but i think it's legit that kind of talk that just like... contributes to the nightmare way ppl talk about the leafs in media lol. like we wonder why it's so bad but there aren't a ton of levelheaded people at the center of leafs fandom in any way.
