Moreover, there have been literal deaths as a direct result of the demonstrations. 11 of them for the Yellow Jackets movement alone.

The thing about police not being violent with far right and nazi marches, only with left and ecological ones, also stands true in France.

The amount of illegal and reprehensible things that have been going on during protests in France under Macron is both staggering and alarming. So alarming in fact that we have been condemned by the Council of Europe, by the United Nations, by Amnesty International and by the European Court of Human Rights.

So, yeah. Maybe there isn't as many deads and wounded as in the US. Maybe we indeed don't have the same firearm problem. But we definitely go into marches wearing protection gear, bringing first aid kits with us (and we even get arrested for that because it obvious means we're here to cause trouble). The police openly targets retreating demonstrators, medics and press people. And that's to say nothing of how it's way worse if you're black or arab.

(Also don't think we don't also have plain clothes officers stirring shit up from the inside of the march just so they have a "reason" to get violent with us and then blame it on us and the Big Bad Black Block.)
