that was the fastest penalty given to a driver ever,
and this is exactly WHAT everyone speaks about when talking about FIA favouring. When last race Perez was not investigated until the end of the race even though we were in the middle of it.
It’s not the penalty it’s how fast FIA interacts in accordance of whether it favours that team or not.

Ages ago I wrote a weird character study about Fia painting Charlie up like an eternalist for Sex Purposes but I couldn't figure out how to finish it. UNTIL I learned that the last theme on the Deathloop Kink Week roster was exhibition/voyeurism, and then I just had to. This is really more angst than kink I guess but OH WELL.
Enjoy!

No Christmas insta posts from Susie like we got last year. It’s like she dropped that shirtless pic of Toto from Abu Dhabi and said “that should tide them over” I guess.

Flexible Front Wings AKA More FIA Clownery
If these tweets are accurate, the FIA has taken almost 3 months to investigate the flexible wings and now says it's "too late" to intervene because teams wouldn't be ready by the end of the season.
But of course, this means that - if the other teams want to have a level playing field - they need to spend their budget (which is capped) to catch up.
Which, by the FIA's own admission, there isn't enough time to do. So hopefully those teams have already been developing these new wings, otherwise they're just shit out of luck.
I really try not to be a tinhatter, but all this screams to me is that the FIA were either fully aware or willingly ignorant that the McLaren car (esp. but also Mercedes) is at best dubiously legal if not illegal but looked the other way because they wanted a title fight to maximize attention and profits.
And as the second tweet shows, when the FIA is incentivized to move quickly they can and have.
It also begs the question, where would the championship standings be if the FIA had actually looked into this when they were asked to?
There was so much talk about the 2021 championship being rigged by the FIA. Will there be the same talks now?

the clownery of 2022 FIA is beyond comprehension
- make a car that has enormously big tyres that drivers lose visibility anyway, and mechanics have issues lifting them, which can impact their health long run
- they limit testing for the winner team(first in history of the sport to punish the winning team), therefore they cant fix the bouncing that is harming the drivers, fast enough
- in Miami drivers who crashed complained that the wall didn’t have proper protection, FIA didn’t do anything about it.
- with those enormous tyres and lack of visibility is now impossible to drive in the rain, best races in the history of F1 are races in rain, and now all we get are red flags all race through because of those stupidly designed cars.
- they have a limit on the wet and inter tyres??? like WHY? you put the rain tyres on for safety, so there shouldn’t be a limit?
-  in Monza a very narrow track, while SC and cars pass through the recovery track is moving backyards, and one of the cars missed it at the last moment
- Suzuka THIS happens after what happened in 2014
- all drivers but one complained all season about the bouncing and the impact on their health, but FIA didn’t do anything until half season in.
and I wont even comment on race incidents decisions, which have been inconsistent at best, and unfair at worst all season long.
but FIA has spent the entire season on an effing nose stud

it is absolutely RIDICULOUS what they’re doing to Sainz, I mean the guy gets MASSIVE floor damage from a DRAIN that has not been checked properly by FIA and he gets a fucking penalty of 10 POSITIONS because he has to change batteries
THIS IS PURE CLOWNERY
as the italian commentator Davide Valsecchi said it’s absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous

It really is uproariously funny that the FIA set up Las Vegas to "increase US viewership" and FP2 WOULD have run at a very convenient 12 AM but now after some clownery it will run at a still-to-be-determined time sometime after 2:15 AM
For context I am now home from work and sitting comfortably down to dinner to watch this thing and I live 16 hours ahead of Las Vegas time
This is how ridiculous it is for people who are ACTUALLY THERE

I actually think the season has seasoned but that’s because I’m a Lando supporter (pls no one come for me). But I swear this season people have gone to an all time extreme with taking things way too personally and are freakishly emotionally invested in the personal lives of those in and around f1. It’s literally not about f1 itself as a sport anymore, it’s all about someone’s fans having the moral high ground, or someone else’s fans being right blah blah blah. You’ve always touched on how it’s partially because of how accessible this sport has become which can be great because more fans and exposure to the general public is good, but oh my god everyone needs to chill and stop picking fights and giving their two cents when it’s clearly not needed. Just enjoy the sport
Haha no one’s coming for you.
I guess for me…it’s all felt a bit disjointed. Multiple off track scandals, silly season didn’t silly, because it happened in like March. The calendar is so disjointed that there hasn’t really been a momentum build. And there’s been what feels like an unusual amount of clownery.
But I just think the jig is almost up with this sport if I’m honest. The morality police coming out, and people treating the drivers like kpop members…it’s kinda ruining it. This “stan” and “anti” subculture has nothing to do with the sport, but it’s encouraged because it gets clicks and makes money.
You can hold Liberty Media to ransom over what you would like the sport to be, and they can hold teams and drivers to ransom over it. But what will you have left? 24 sprint races, 85 grill the grid episodes with miserable ass drivers, a bunch of stalkers ambushing drivers at airports and sending death threats to their girlfriends, drivers getting shat on on the internet for DRIVING THE CAR or swearing on the radio, afraid to say or do anything because it’s not worth the hate. And maybe that’s how it needs to be for the sport to be profitable, it certainly seems Liberty and the FIA think so. But that’s not something I would be that interested in watching.
People generally have taken the parasocial involvement too far (see: everyone mad at Taylor Swift for breathing the same air as Brittany Mahomes), but I think why it’s such an issue in F1 is that it is not an environment that attracts people that for the mould of what the internet people consider to be “good” behaviour. And if y’all don’t like that, what are you doing here? Go watch something else.
Also, there is SO much focus on the drivers now, because the parasocial relationship is what gets fans, that people have lost sight of the fact that F1 is an engineering competition. So yeah sure stan your drivers, but the “car merchant” conversation is like, not the conversation you think it is.

Don't get me wrong I'm delighted Nando got his podium back and he wouldn't be Nando if he didn't get his 100th podium in the most dramatic batshit way lmao but my god the FIA is literally just clown noises like we been knowing but damn tonight was just a masterclass in clownery
