Professor Alecai Kainen - He is Andy’s favorite professor at Oxford who teaches the secret wizard students. He is hired when the war starts to lead a team to experiment with magical weapons created by TOWER (@savetheundoneyears) so they can learn to disarm them and make cures for any curses or hexes or effects. He refuses the suggestions of some of the most brilliant minds of the wizard world and instead insists on hiring his students for his team. He does it so they can gain experience, however he starts to regret it later when the dangerous work starts to take his students lives. He always tries to put himself first and protect the students. He does eventually die doing so. FC: Martin Short

Audry Kainen - She is the daughter of Alecai and is one of the first women students to attend Oxford lectures without chaperones when the rule is lifted in 1914. She strives to be more than just Professor Kainen’s daughter and tries to prove that she belongs and that she didn’t get there simply by being his daughter. She does love him though and he is very proud of everything she does. He knows she is capable on her own without him. Audry and Andy have a friendship that starts out rocky (as you do when two powerful intelligent people think they are both right) but they end up great friends. She reminds Andy of his sister and she also likes that he isn’t one of the many guys who wants to sleep with her or doubts her because she’s a woman. FC: Jessica Biel

PERSONALITY

Child: Growing up he was afforded a lot of luxury as the Vallens had a lot of money. He also would follow his sister around everywhere and loved when they would play. He was also curious about everything and was given the best tutors and he quickly displayed natural intellect and was gifted like his sister. Once his sister discovered her magic and got her letter, he also wanted to explore magic and soon after he got his own letter. This catapulted his confidence as he knew it was rare for two magical children to come from muggles.

Teenage: During Hogwarts, his success in his studies built his ego even further. He was proud of himself, his intelligence, his family, and magic. He also started to experiment with his appearance as he started adopting a more feminine look. Wherever his sister would go, he wouldn’t be far behind. They became really close as their parents expected them to attend all the fancy rich parties they threw at their estate. They would stick together and gossip and whisper about all the guests as they giggled and joked about people.

Early Adulthood: Andy followed his sister to Oxford University after they graduated Hogwarts. They both were hungry to learn more and soon discovered Oxford University home to both a muggle and secret wizard population. They had the best of both worlds to study. Andy started to feel lonely and sad as he was naive and egotistical and did not talk to anyone. He thought they weren’t like him enough to be worth getting to know them. He did not really mean for it to be rude, but he just didn’t think about it. Once the First World War breaks out, he starts to grow up a bit more and learns to separate himself from his rich and gifted upbringing and he gains friendships in the team founded by his wizard Professor that experiments with magical weapons and whose goal is to disarm and find cures for them. He ends up watching half of his team die horrible deaths in accidents with the weapons.

Late Adulthood: After the first war, Andy finishes his studies. Instead of becoming a professor at Oxford or Hogwarts (he’s offered many jobs from both), he decides to try to help the less fortunate receive education. He moves to a small country town and teaches classic literature to muggles. He tries to escape the wizard world a bit because of his experience with dangerous magic and may have PTSD. When the Second World War starts, he is offered a job again from the wizard world which he immediately turns down. He no longer has the ego and ambition to be a hero. Instead, he keeps teaching and also protects his students. He would also shelter and help refugees escape while making sure children still receive safe education and not be forced to fight.

Connection Description: Cisco was born in Oxford, England, though his parents split when he was still an infant. His mother took him back to Brazil and raised him there, without the help of his biological father, Richard. In the meantime, Richard built a new life for himself, remarried and had another child with his new wife.  After the events of Cisco's early childhood unfolded, he was taken away from his mother at the age of six and sent to live with his next relative - his father and his family in England. Richard could never find a connection with his first born son. It might be due to having seen him last when he was still an infant, the fact that he at first struggled to communicate with Cisco for they spoke in different tongues or the medical condition that is a direct result of his mother's abuse. For a little over a year, the family tried to make it work, though there was a divide that could not be overcome, resulting Richard to decide to give his eldest son up for adoption, in hopes that Cisco may have a better, more loving life ahead of him.  So much for the background. Cisco's younger brother would be around 2-5 years younger than him. Depending on his age, it would mean that he might not remember a lot from the time Cisco spent with the family. I envision that his younger brother would try to find Cisco, though I'm also not opposed to plot for some other way these two find their way into each other's lives. The reason as to why his brother is now looking for Cisco (the other way around or something else entirely) is ultimately a matter of plotting and i'm more than happy to brainstorm ideas! i'm also open to discuss where their relationship is headed down the line.

History Before Dottie was even born, a young man of seventeen named Joseph Samson met a girl while studying medicine abroad named Clara. Almost instantly, he fell for her, and a year later, the couple married. In late July of 1876, the young couple were blessed with the arrival of their baby girl, who they named Dorothea after Joseph’s grandmother. To Joseph, life was perfect. He had his medical practice, his baby girl that he treated like a princess, and his wife, who he treated like a queen.

Unfortunately, Clara did not feel the same. Only sixteen at the time of their marriage, Clara felt trapped and, as soon as the Samson family moved back to the States, she ran away from her husband and daughter, never to be seen by either again. Heartbroken but resilient, Joseph took on the strange role of being both parents for the young girl, raising her the best way he knew how. Around the age of eight, he noticed her taking an interest in his practice and began to teach her the way of a healer, planting the seeds for the doctor she would become later.

Dorothea was very happy with her home. She loved her father, and learned from him one must always be kind, patient, and loving first, and that, deep down, most people were good. He raised her to never react out of anger or cruelty, and to always turn the other cheek. As such, Dottie was a shy girl, and very much a pushover, much to her father’s dismay. He hoped to, later in life, undo that mistake and help her grow tougher, but as fate would have it, he would never get the chance.

One cold winter night in 1884, Joseph and Dorothea were on their way across country for a new life in the South when their stage coach was attacked by road agents. Joseph attempted to play the hero, and was injured for his troubles. After that, the job just kept getting worse and worse, ending in the stagecoach being on fire and most people that were riding the coach dead. Even after begging for his life, Joseph was killed by the road agents, leaving Dottie alone in cold night with nothing. For days, she wandered by herself with no food or water until her little legs finally gave out. The next thing she knew, she was in a warm tent, an unfamiliar man tending to her. Dottie eventually learned that luck (or perhaps something else) was on her side that night: she had collapsed on the outskirts of the camp of the Dutch van der Linde gang, and somehow, they had found her buried in the snow.

The next year was a blur to young Dorothea. She never said a word to anyone, but would quietly obey when the adults asked something of her. 

Every gang needs someone to sew their wounds, cure their sickness, and mend their broken bones, and the van der Linde gang is no exception. Though not a fully trained “real” doctor, Dorothea “Doc” Samson knows how to fix everyone's ailments with an odd sparkle in her eye and a needle in her hand. A young lass of 23, Dottie came to the gang when she was a child, and her natural talent for a needle and thread (and observing her father, a doctor himself) put her on the path of being the camp’s unofficial sawbones. Whether it be a bullet wound, a flu, a broken bone, or even a hangover, Dottie is there with the best cure she can find.

Their mother went from one relationship to the next, so he would have done a lot to help raise Sam and was the only one who could kind of talk sense into him when he began to lash out. After Sam went to jail, he was pretty much the only person who stuck by him and he was the one who suggested Sam move to a smaller town, hoping it would keep him out of trouble. To this day, Sam and he are super close and he is almost more like a father-figure to Sam (at least the way i imagine their connection). Unlike Sam, he still keeps in touch with their mother and kind of functions as a link between them. Much of anything beyond this is UTP or up for discussion.

- loves photographing sunsets. Keeps a sky diary.

- closest (and only living) relative is her mother's sister, Vivienne, who moved in and looked after Esther when her parents died.

- Her first name came from her mother's favourite swimmer, and her middle name from the month she was born. Her expected due date was at the end of January, but she was born in late December instead.

Personality: Detail Oriented - Repressed - Logical - Outwardly Calm - Slightly Avoidant in conflict.

Education: A BA in Interdisciplinary Studies/Teacher Education, and two years of teaching experience. She was preparing to enroll in a Curriculum and Instruction MS programme after a few years, when she ended up meeting Liam. She’s currently using her background in education to improve the education system in Cordonia.

Favourite Holiday Destination: Venice, where Liam and Esther spent their honeymoon

Backstory: Esther was born in New Orleans to Louis DuPont and Isabelle Blais. She is their only child; they had initially planned on having at least three children, but because Esther's birth was particularly difficult and traumatic for her mother, the couple never tried to have children again. This also resulted in Isabelle being a little distant around her daughter, even though she loved her immensely. Louis was the more interactive, hands-on parent, and as a professional photographer often took his daughter out with him. The family moved to Brooklyn during Esther's pre-teen years, and returned only once...to volunteer in the efforts to help their town during Hurricane Katrina.

Esther lived a relatively happy life though her mother's distant behaviour did disturb her, and it was only as an adult, talking to her aunt Vivienne, that she finally understood why. Both parents passed away before she completed high school, and Vivienne helped her get through college. Esther worked as a teacher for two years, and took up an extra job as a waitress (and a few other odd jobs) in hopes to pay for a degree in Curriculum and Instruction in the future. It's at this point that she meets Liam.

Children: Crown Princess Sofia, Prince Theo and Prince Phillip.
