F1 Exhibition, London
I’m so so happy to have gone to the F1 exhibition today! It was so much fun.
Had a super early start this morning as we had to leave at 5:30am so was awake at 4am. Caught our bus at 6:30 and got to London at 11:30 (ish), but it was so worth it.

What about reader is a team principal of a team and every driver and there girlfriend are obsessed with her?
Hahaha, omg this is so funny.
Enjoy reading and send some requests!!!
-xoxo
Obvious
The world of Formula 1 was unforgiving, relentless, and absolutely cutthroat. But there was one anomaly in the paddock that no one could quite figure out: Y/N, the 22-year-old team principal of McLaren. Her rapid rise to the top was a story everyone whispered about, but no one dared to challenge.
She was brilliant, tenacious, and had an air of authority that made her presence impossible to ignore. But what truly set her apart was the way she unknowingly had every driver—and their girlfriends—wrapped around her finger. They were utterly, hopelessly obsessed with her, and Y/N remained blissfully unaware, thinking it was just the normal way people treated their boss.
Exhibit 1: Dinner with George and Carmen
It was a rare off-day between races, and Y/N found herself in London at George’s request. The Mercedes driver had insisted on taking her out to dinner with his girlfriend Carmen joining them.
“I’m glad you agreed to come, Y/N,” George smiled as he pulled out a chair for her. “You’ve been working way too hard.”
Carmen leaned in, her eyes sparkling with admiration. “Yes, you need to relax sometimes. You’re always so busy.”
Y/N chuckled, feeling a bit flustered by their attention. “Thanks, guys, but it’s all part of the job, right? I mean, this season has been crazy.”
George leaned closer, casually placing his hand on the back of her chair, his fingers brushing against her shoulder. “You’re the youngest team principal in F1 history, Y/N. You’re allowed to take a break now and then. Let us take care of you tonight.”
Carmen nodded in agreement, her hand gently squeezing Y/N’s arm. “We wouldn’t want you burning out, would we?”
Y/N smiled, feeling a warmth that she couldn’t quite place. “You guys are too sweet. I’m just trying to keep up, you know?”
The dinner passed with easy laughter and conversation, and Y/N was too busy enjoying herself to notice how both George and Carmen kept finding excuses to touch her—a hand on her arm here, a brush of fingers there. It was as if they couldn’t bear to be too far away from her.
---
Exhibit 2: A Mallorcan Escape with Carlos and Rebecca
The invitation had been impossible to refuse. Carlos had insisted on whisking Y/N away to Mallorca for a weekend of sun, relaxation, and good company. Rebecca was there too, constantly checking in to make sure Y/N was enjoying herself.
“This place is incredible,” Y/N said as she stepped out onto the balcony of their luxury villa, the Mediterranean Sea sparkling in the distance.
Carlos grinned, his hand resting comfortably on her lower back as he guided her to the sun lounger. “You deserve a break, Y/N. You’re always taking care of everyone else.”
Rebecca handed Y/N a cold drink, her smile warm and sincere. “Exactly. It’s our turn to look after you.”
Y/N blushed, sipping the drink as she looked out at the waves. “You guys are too nice. Honestly, I’m fine.”
Carlos laughed, sitting down beside her and casually resting his arm across the back of her chair, his fingers lightly grazing her shoulder. “Nice has nothing to do with it, Y/N. We just really enjoy spending time with you.”
Rebecca nodded, her hand resting on Y/N’s knee in a gesture that was both comforting and possessive. “We wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Y/N just smiled, thinking how lucky she was to have friends like them, completely missing the way both Carlos and Rebecca watched her every move with an intensity that went far beyond simple friendship.
---
Exhibit 3: Shopping Spree with Pierre and Kika
Y/N had never been a big shopper, but when Pierre and Kika insisted on a shopping trip in Milan, she couldn’t say no. The day was a blur of designer stores, laughter, and playful teasing.
“You’d look amazing in this,” Kika said, holding up a sleek black dress against Y/N.
Pierre nodded in agreement, his hand resting comfortably on Y/N’s waist as he leaned in to inspect the dress. “Try it on. We’re not leaving until you do.”
Y/N rolled her eyes playfully. “You guys are relentless. I’m supposed to be the boss, remember?”
Pierre smirked, giving her a light nudge toward the dressing room. “Not today, Y/N. Today, you’re our princess.”
Kika giggled, grabbing Y/N’s hand and dragging her along. “Exactly. And our princess needs a new wardrobe.”
Y/N couldn’t help but laugh as she tried on outfit after outfit, completely unaware of the way Pierre’s eyes lingered on her every time she emerged from the dressing room, or how Kika’s hand never left hers for long.
---
Exhibit 4: Movie Night with Max and Kelly
It was a cozy night in Monaco, and Max had convinced Y/N to come over for a low-key movie night. Kelly had made popcorn, and the three of them were snuggled up on the couch.
“You’ve been working too hard again,” Kelly said, her voice soft as she adjusted the blanket around Y/N’s shoulders. “You need to relax.”
Max nodded, his arm stretched along the back of the couch, his fingers gently playing with the ends of Y/N’s hair. “Yeah, you need to slow down sometimes. You’re making us all look bad.”
Y/N laughed, pulling the blanket tighter around herself. “Oh, please. You guys are the ones driving the cars at insane speeds every weekend.”
Max grinned, his hand dropping to rest on her shoulder, squeezing lightly. “And you’re the one making all the tough calls. That’s way more stressful.”
Kelly leaned in closer, her head resting lightly against Y/N’s. “We’re just glad you’re here. We love spending time with you.”
Y/N smiled, thinking how comforting it was to have Max and Kelly around. She missed the way Max’s thumb traced circles on her shoulder and the way Kelly’s fingers intertwined with hers under the blanket, as if they were afraid to let her go.
---
Exhibit 5: Yacht Day with Charles and Alexandra
When Charles invited Y/N out on his yacht, she thought it would be a casual day in the sun. But from the moment she stepped on board, she realized she was in for something far more luxurious.
“This is… wow,” Y/N breathed, taking in the sight of the pristine white yacht against the crystal blue waters of the French Riviera.
Charles smiled, his hand lingering on the small of her back as he guided her to a sunbed. “Only the best for our favorite team principal.”
Alexandra appeared with drinks, offering one to Y/N with a bright smile. “You deserve this, Y/N. You never take time for yourself.”
Y/N settled onto the sunbed, feeling the warmth of the sun and the company of her friends. “You guys are always spoiling me. I’m really not that special.”
Charles chuckled, leaning back beside her, his leg brushing against hers. “Oh, but you are, Y/N. You’re the heart of the paddock.”
Alexandra nodded in agreement, her hand resting comfortably on Y/N’s as they basked in the sun. “And we all adore you.”
Y/N blushed, not quite understanding why they were always so kind, but grateful all the same.
---
Exhibit 6: Golfing with Alex and Lily
Golf wasn’t Y/N’s sport, but when Alex and Lily insisted on a day out on the greens, she couldn’t say no. The trio laughed their way through the course, with Alex playfully showing Y/N how to swing properly, his hands guiding hers.
“You’ve got this, Y/N,” Alex said, his chest pressed against her back as he adjusted her stance. “Just focus.”
Y/N laughed, her cheeks flushed from the proximity. “You make it look so easy.”
Lily watched them with a knowing smile, resting her hand on Y/N’s shoulder. “You’ll get the hang of it. You’re already a pro at everything else.”
Y/N shook her head, trying to concentrate as Alex’s touch sent an unexpected thrill through her. “You guys are way too nice to me.”
Alex and Lily exchanged a look, one that Y/N missed entirely as she tried to focus on her swing. They were both addicted to her presence, to the way she brightened every room she walked into.
---
As the season went on, Y/N continued to be the center of attention in ways she never quite understood. Every driver and their partners found excuses to spend time with her, to touch her, to keep her close. And though she often felt overwhelmed by their affection, she chalked it up to just having great friends in the paddock.
But to everyone else, it was clear: Y/N wasn’t just a team principal. She was the object of an unspoken obsession, the one person they all couldn’t bear to be without. And whether she realized it or not, they were all just a little bit in love with her.

More very beautiful things I got to see today, including one of Lewis’ cars, itty bitty Lewis karting gear, one of Senna’s cars, the real Silverstone trophy, and what COULD have been the real WDC trophy but also could have been a replica
And Gewis Helmets, with the we race as one strip on George’s
All at the F1 Exhibition currently at the London Excel, worth it if you can afford it (or if someone else pays your ticket like I had)

Past weekend
Saturday
I spent the day with Josh in London, our first stop being Gordon Ramsay’s Street Pizza restaurant in Battersea – we both effin’ love our pizza and were both ravenous by the time we sat down, and we chose GR because of its ‘bottomless pizza’ option – so it was a perfect storm!
The format was not one I’d experienced before – instead of picking a pizza from the menu and chowing down, the servers meander between the tables with whichever pizza just came out of the oven and hand you a slice. We quickly decided we liked this method because 1) it allowed us to try all the toppings, and 2) the brief waits between slices made for some good pace-making!
There were about 5 different pizzas doing the rounds, although besides pepperoni being the clear standout, I was rather underwhelmed by the others. Nevertheless, I kept putting away everything that was brought my way, keeping up with the eating machine sat opposite me. In fact, Josh was the first to blink and turn down a slice, at which point I took the opportunity to sneak ahead and claim a minor victory! He did end up demolishing 20 slices to my 16, but I was very pleased with my effort.
The F1 exhibition followed in the afternoon, which was slick and impressive. We were advised upon entry that 1h30 would be required to get the best out of our visit, but we both expected to be done before then. However, it must have been good, because we ended up staying there for nearly 2 hours! I wasn’t all that interested in reading everything on the walls, but the installations alone kept me occupied. Every single car they had on display was mesmerising to look at, but if I had to pick my favourite it would be the McLaren sporting #12 and an orangey-red colour!
Sunday
I saw Hannah in the evening, with the main reason for my visit being the pub quiz that she frequents with her friends. I have now attended the last three (they’re monthly) and fully merited my place in the side – on my first outing in a small team of 3 we managed to come third, and last month (with a full lineup) we won the whole shebang! To be honest, I don’t know why I didn’t blog about our famous victory at the time – we each had some inspired moments and beat the resident champions (who include pro quizzers among their ranks) for the team’s first ever win!
This month’s quiz was markedly harder than the previous ones, and we felt our reign as champs slowly fading round by round. We even joked we might be taking home the booby prize for coming stone-dead last, but as the answers were being read out, we started to suspect we might have done a little better than we first thought. The quizmaster named the 7 teams in reverse order, starting with a three-way tie for last place; once our name wasn’t read out, we breathed a sigh of relief and found ourselves on the precipice of another podium. It turned out that we somehow snaffled second place, finishing a solitary point behind the winners (them pro quizzers again)!
So that’s three quizzes and a medal of each colour, plus at least one MVP performance to boot! I am told that regular podium finishes have previously been beyond the team, so I feel happy that I helped get them further up the leaderboard. We were even down a player this weekend due to illness, so it is not inconceivable to think that another head could have provided the extra couple of points to nab a second win – those pesky pro quizzers better watch out…

Located west of London, the Brooklands Museum Brooklands Museum is a family-friendly attraction. It’s located on the site of the world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuit and offers a variety of interesting displays and activities. Click for more info
Its fascinating collection of aircraft and vehicles makes it a must see for aviation enthusiasts. One of the most impressive features of the museum is its extensive collection of vintage and modern cars, aircraft, motorcycles and other forms of transport. In addition, the museum offers many family-friendly workshops and activities.Visitors can tour the restored Concorde G-BBDG or visit the museum’s 4D theatre, which allows guests to take part in experiences with the Red Arrows and Mike Hawthorn. Alternatively, they can sit in a real Concorde passenger seat and take a virtual ‘flight’ through a supersonic icon. Other activities include a bike ride along the historic banked racetrack, pedal planes and the opportunity to test drive a McLaren F1 simulator. There’s also a soft play area for younger children. The museum also offers a free bus service.
You can also learn more about Brooklands’ history and aviation pioneers by attending one of the museum’s many talks and courses. It has a huge range of aviation exhibits, including the world’s first purpose built motor racing circuit. It is, and is easily accessible by train or bus. If you’re planning to visit, make sure you download the museum’s Trail Guide first. This will tell you which of the attractions to visit. Next article

Touring Superleggera Arese RH95
Following in the footsteps of last year's Ferrari F12-based Aero 3, the Arese is the Turin firm's first mid-engined creation. It has made its debut at London's Salon Privé exhibition.
With a completely bespoke design that sets it apart from the Ferrari F8 Tributo with which it shares its engine, the carbonfibre-bodied Arese is said to represent the next generation of Touring's Aero lineage, born in 2012 with the reveal of the Disco Volante.
Among its defining characteristics are a nostril-style front grille and a prominent aluminium side section, while scissor doors and a prominent (and functional) dorsal-style air intake behind the cabin hint at its performance potential. Indeed, Touring claims a 0-62mph time of 3.0sec and a top speed of 211mph, nearly exactly matching the F8 Tributo, with which the Arese also shares its F1 seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The undisclosed donor chassis has been modified to best suit the new body, and Touring says that each completed car will be "thoroughly tested and quality assured" before its owner takes delivery.
The first example is finished in Verde Pino with a Caramel and Cocoa interior, while cars two and three will respectively have Alfa Romeo-inspired red-and-white and Gulf Oil-esque orange-and-blue liveries.
Touring plans to make just 18 Areses, and buyers can supply their own donor car. Each takes six months to complete.

UAL2 UNIT2 - HALF TERM 06/2022
At the PhotoBookCafe, in Shoreditch, London
At the Photographers' Gallery, London
At Maison Assouline bookstore/bar in Piccadilly, London
Lesson Half Term
For this lesson, I spent a day visiting a series of establishments to gain more experience in how to assess the physical printed image.
The first stop was to the PhotoBookCafé (pictured, above) in North London’s Shoreditch district. Its free library of photobooks and photozines offered a massive opportunity to browse through a wide range of eclectic works.
These included Lu Yang’s semi-erotica, video-game inspired self-portraits in the A4-sized King Kong zine; and the quirky realism in the 5A format zines published by Bump Books.
The informality of the photocopy-like paper used for the zines contrasted with the hard cover and thick matte paper used for images in Americans Parade by George Georgiou. His depiction of the peculiarities in ordinary Americans’ daily lives is comparable to the portrayal of the British by photographer Martin Parr.
Also fascinating was the variety of book formats used by publishers, such as the family album look for the compilation of different photographers’ work in Momentos, published by Monaris; the sophisticated hardback inside a slipcase for People of the Mud, by Berlin-based Luis Alberto Rodriguez, who homes in on the far-from sophisticated hard grind of the lives of a working class community in Ireland.
Equally intriguing was the almost large A3 size and newspaper-supplement style of 12-8 2017, William Mebane’s photographic coverage of the controversial rallies held by US President Donald Trump in Florida.
The PhotoBookCafé visit was followed by one to London’s Photographers’ Gallery and the exhibition called For the Record: Photography & the Art of the Album Cover. This was a visual feast for music fans. It focused on the symbiotic relationship between recorded music and photographic art.
The repertoire included iconic vinyl album covers influenced by or taken by famous artists (Andy Warhol), by famous photograph artists (Lee Friedlander), and covers imitating other album covers (the Clash’s London Calling encapsulating the rebelliousness of punk by imitating the cover of Elvis Presley’s debut album displaying the raucousness of 1950s rock ‘n roll.) (pictured, above).
My next stop was to Maison Assouline, the boutique luxury bookshop in London’s Piccadilly area. The photography books and art books cost between £75 and £20,000 each (pictured, above).
The management explained that the covers of the large limited-edition A3 size coffee-table books costing about £1,000 were specifically made from silk, hand-sewn and hand-bound in Italy before being exported to the UK in customised clamshell cases.
Each book’s cover is embossed in gold, silver and other highly specialised paint. Another Assouline book on Formula One motor-racing had its cover made from recycled F1 tyres (pictured, above).
It was hard to know whether the prices indicate excess just for the sake of it, whether the luxurious covers and paper used to display the photos enhanced the photos’ storytelling; or whether the high costs amounted to good photography’s deserved financial merit and value.
But the whole day’s experience illustrated the extraordinary wide range of print-publishing formats for photography.

National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh
As work came to a close for us in Edinburgh and we resigned ourselves to moving to London, we took advantage of all the free touristy stuff to do in the capital. This museum is my number one pick for how to spend a rainy day in the city. Not only is the building beautiful, but it’s crammed full of crap, stuffed and stolen from every corner of the earth. Colonial museums to tend to have a bit of an appropriate-y vibe (and this one is no exception), but even with that in mind it’s a great day out for any massive nerd. The interactive exhibits in the science/modern world sections are worth going for on their own - they have Dolly the sheep, in the wool, standing against a background of old F1 cars. I tell ya it’s a sight to behold.
