I still remember getting so excited to see Aria’s darker side during season 7. Her playing on A.D’s side or possibly being A.D. herself was so juicy and had so much potential. Realizing that the motivation behind that was once again all about Ezra was one of the biggest disappointments on PLL for me. It still is, during every single rewatch.

PLL 4x19 “Hot For Teacher”

OK, so by now we know that I think that Ezra is the one currently testing Aria and her loyalties. 

I was rewatching 4x19 “Hot for Teacher”, which you will famously know as the “Chickpeas” episode. Also the “Sometimes the Villains win” episode. A great episode for EzrA believers.

Season 4, is a really heavily suspicious season for Ezra. Which I think speaks to the fact that, before they got renewed for a 6th and 7th season, they were planning on running it home with Ezra and a partner as ‘A’.

Anyway... Ezra spends most of season 4 trying to isolate Aria from her friends and loved ones. Making them keep their relationship a secret, so that when they are together, they have to be alone. frequently making her choose between concerns with her family and friends and time with him. Guilting her into choosing him, whisking her off to a remote cabin for isolated weekends together.

in 4x19 they have the exchange shown above. 

Aria says that she wants to go home, she’s tired of lying to her friends and family. 

Ezra says: “Have you ever thought that maybe this feeling you have of being torn between me and your friends maybe is not such a bad thing?”

Aria: “Is it supposed to be a good thing?”

Ezra: “Maybe. I know it feels like you’re growing away from them, but maybe this feeling is you and me grower closer.

Aria: “Right and I want to be able to share that with my closest friends.”

Ezra: “And I agree with you. And I think we are past the point in our relationship where we have to hide but...If what we have is going to last, you have to start thinking of me as the person you’re closest to. The person that you want to share everything with. And I have to do that with you.”

I think this season is Ezra trying to gear up to tell Aria about his involvement with ‘A’. She sticks by him during the stuff with Malcolm, she chooses him over Jake. Even when confronted with stories about Ezra’s violent encounter with the blonde woman in that car, she still chooses to believe him. She doesn’t believe her friends when they’re suspicious. No one can tell season 4 Aria that Ezra is a bad guy. She has been loyal to a fault.  

Ezra thinks he can trust her. But he has to be certain. He thinks that he and Aria have what it takes to go the distance, but only if she can handle the truth about who he is. And he brings her up to the cabin to tell her the truth. 

But then she unleashes on him that she has doubts, and that she can’t lie anymore. So he decides to test her. He “writes a book”. He types up a cheap manuscript, and in 4x21 he plants it in a place that he knows she can’t help but look. He hides it a Carnivore’s Delight cookbook, after we’ve been reminded again, that Aria is a vegetarian. Hides it on the freaking coffee table. 

This is a man who wants to be found out. 

Since he has camera’s on the girls at all times, he knows that Aria is fielding suspicion from her friends. He knows that she’s coming. He clears out the basement lair, hides the book, and waits. The cabin is very remote, and far from home. But in 4x21 he shows up shortly after she has found the book. Just enough time to get notice from the security company that someone gained access to the cabin. He knew she was coming to look for something, and he was ready for her to find it. 

Fun side note: Isn’t it awfully funny that Ezra had a security system installed, and alerts set up, and a very Ezria specific password... for a cabin that belongs to a friend? 

Anyway, she runs from him... like ya do... and when they’re trapped together on the ski lift he says “ I know. I lied. I wanted to tell you so many times. But I was afraid. I was afraid you wouldn’t forgive me.” 

^That’s the truth. He did want to tell her, and he was scared. But not about the book. He was scared she wouldn’t forgive him for his ‘A’ work. Whatever good motive he had for doing it. 

The book is full of misinformation, because the book is fake. He wrote it up in a hurry, or had a minion write it up, so that there would be something for Aria to find. Fake the book to cover the truth.

Thoughts While Watching PLL “In The Eye Abides the Heart”

1) Did Sasha Pieterse and Shay Mitchell win any awards for this twisted baby plot? Because...damn, the scenes between the two of them are just a whole new level of incredible.

2) Seriously, the way Sasha gently steps around the script and the way Shay uses her whole face and her voice to convey her feelings. Her voice fucking CRACKED with raw emotion. It’s really amazing.

3) These creepy-ass face-chats with AD and Aria are horrifying.

4) If one puts a gluten free, dairy free, sugar free, fat free cupcake inside a box…does said cupcake actually even exist? Food for thought.

5) A.D. does not like her calls being screened. She would fucking hate me.

6) I bet Hanna and Caleb were adorable babies. And I bet their babies are going to be adorable, too.

7) Bahahaha, Hanna and Emily got REALLY into that comic book Lucas and Charles wrote. My beautiful nerds.

8) When Aria brought up the possibility of Lucas being A.D. and possibly being the father of the Emison babies I automatically started to wish they HAD made a little baby Lucas/Emily. Because that baby would be gorgeous.

9) Emily’s “no, no more…” *pause* “���maybe just a splash” is totally me with my vodka.

10) Emily: “I didn’t come here for you to tell me what to do.” *takes a beat* “What am I gonna do?”

11) Typical Emily Fields talking about how mad she is someone did this to Ali, and typical Spencer Hastings reminding her that it’s okay if she’s hurting, too, because it’s happening to her as well. Team Spemily.

12) Spencer and Mary writing each other letters in bottles like they live in 13th century England.

13) Paige’s response after she finds out about the Emison baby: “I’m buying the next round. And probably the one after that.” I finally like Paige.

14) “I thought it (the game) ran on bitchiness.” *snort* Classic Hanna.

15) The board game ain’t afraid to cut a bitch. And the fab bitch Mona ain’t afraid to cut back.

16) “I have learned so much from loving you. One of the most important things you taught me was not to get greedy.” The episode where Paige actually becomes a likeable character is her last. Shame.

17) Awww, “This is the third time I’ve said goodbye to you. I’m never gonna say it again.” Paige really did grow a lot throughout the series. I didn’t see that the first time I watched this.

18) Emily: “I have to do this.” Paige: “Of course you do. That’s what makes you Emily.” Then that kiss and Paige gently nudging Emily’s jaw to help her keep her chin up. What a way to end Paily. Lindsey Shaw did an incredible job with that. Okay, bye Paily. I’m over it.

19) Ezra: “Aria, what Nicole went through…it was the worst thing in the world.” Me: “Um, you do realize all the shit Aria’s been through, too, right?”

20) Paige creepin’ into Ali’s house…that shit was fucked up.

21) That scene between Paige and Ali where Paige confronts Ali about her feelings for Emily was beautifully executed by Lindsey and Sasha.

22) “I know how I feel when she looks at me. I’ve never felt that with anyone before. It’s like she sees who you really are. Maybe that’s the scariest part. You look at her. You look at…you look at her eyes and you want to be worth the effort. You wanna be the person she sees.” Powerful words, perfect delivery. GIVE SASHA A DAMN EMMY!

23) Hanna, giving Mona the game is like giving a crackhead their fix. Don’t mess with the queen’s head.

24) If anyone didn’t suspect the twin theory when Ezra ran into “Spencer” and Wren at the airport then they are as blind as Jenna Marshall.

25) Troian, you fabulous creature…you directed the shit out of this episode. It was phenomenal.

Nothing more to say: EZRA IS A.D. (and Charles)

I refused all the clues that came before by 6B or 7A. But now, it is quite clear on our faces... Before Lucas received his "letter" from A.D., Ezra was writing a note... Ezra saw Spencer with Wren and did not do or say a thing about it, besides, he went back to Rosewood to "stay with Aria"... But not really, he saw Spencer asking for Wren's help, so he knows, Wren had access to Radley files... I'm thinking Ezra is Charles, and Wren knows it (remember, Wren will not be A.D., but will be part of the final twist). Now on tonight's episode, Ezra just happens to have "found" what Aria filed about him... I don't think so, either he was messing with her stuff, or, he gave that file to Aria himself... Besides, the file was at THE BREW, right before A.D. told Aria to get her prize... RIGHT BEFORE EZRA SHOWED UP! Mona is made to be stuck and addicted by the game again... Why? Only Charlotte could pull that up, right? No. Ezra either, who has made Mona act as -A again, by season 4B... So he's doing it again. He knows how addicted to the game she is, he was writing a book where she was one of the most important characters. Right on tonight's episode, after the file is destroyed by Aria, and Ezra shows that he would have deserved to be reported about, was only to keep on gaining her trust. He's a psycho narcissist. He is probably writing something about it again. He likes books... He's ending his book... He's ending CHARLES's BOOK... Ezra and Charles like books of mystery and revenge... Ezra and Charles were both obsessed with Alison... They're the same person!!! He's been away A LOT this season... Aria told him what happend with Rollins quite sooner after it happened... Rollins just happens to appear on HER car. Lucas was not friends with CeCe... He was friends with Ezra... That's why he acted "weird" while talking about "Charlotte" in front of the girls... Besides, the promo for the next episode shows this image I posted... "Time for pie." .... PIE... PIE... Who used to eat lots of pies with Aria? Ezra. And not just this... Crows at the top of the image... Crows leads us to an intense time of the show, when Ravenswood (where Ezra literally attacked Spencer wearing that soldier suit) and CHARLEmagne were introduced... What did we have in Ravenswood? Yes, exactly: EZRA'S LAIR. "He's hoping you lead him to Alison.", "He's here.", "One of you has been touched by the one Alison fears the most..." Ezra Fitz... Ezra Fitzgerald.... The last letters of his name and surname: A.D.

In my heart of hearts, Ezra Fitz is still A

And this is my take on how it should’ve went down

After Mona went to Radley, Ezra was mad about which direction the book was going in (he was obsessed) so he became A so he could control the story and found it to be more exciting than just writing

He used it to track down Ali and hired Charlotte, and made her think that she was actually Uber A and was the master mind when he was really pulling the strings

He was obsessed with Aria more than the others and wanted to be able to keep her if everyone found out which is why he was slowly trying to isolate her from her friends

When she found out about the book Ezra had to take a break from being A or else they would connect the two, so he hired Shana and handed the reigns over to Charlotte for awhile and orchestrated himself getting shot (tho it wasn’t aimed well) to get back in Aria’s good graces

During the time he gave Charlotte, her working from France at first with Shana, Jenna and others doing her bidding, Charlotte became more obsessed with the power and Ezra lost control of the game

Then the doll house and all that happen

Ezra grows more angry during the flash forward because he still doesn’t have a good ending to his book, not without exposing himself, until Charlotte is released and all the girls are back

He realizes now it’s time to get back in the game but first he has a lose end, Charlotte whom he pushes off the bell tower when Charlotte threatens to tell Ali everything he did

Of course he couldn’t do all of this on his own, he needed someone else who was invested in the girls lives and had access he didn’t (to Radley specifically) and not just a minion, which is where Wren came in

Ezra knew about Wren and him flirting and kissing Spencer so when they happened to be sitting next to each other at a bar and started talking he slipped in that these Rosewood high school girls are such teases

Wren joined team A and gave Ezra access to whatever Radley files he needed and helped Charlotte be able to get in an out without questions

He was already obsessed with the Hastings so working with Charlotte was easy for Wren since she was related to them

It was Wren’s cabin that Ezra used, and also a secondary A head quarters just incase Ravenswood got found

Wren also had his own help, Melissa, who didn’t know quite what she was involved with but she knew it would protect Spencer and Ezra having found out about her burying Bethany when Melissa accidentally confessed it to Wren used it to blackmail her into becoming the Black Widow

As far as Melissa knew, Wren was also being blackmailed because he wanted to protect her and Melissa had no idea Ezra was behind it

Jump forward to when Ezra finally got back with Aria and everyone was happy, he knew it was time to finish the game, the last chapter Which is why he proposed to Aria and tried to rush her into getting married

In his mind she was as in love with him that she would forgive him for everything (which is why he brought the file into play to test her love for him) so as long as they were married she wouldn’t have to testify against him and would also be bound to him

Over time the things Mona had forgotten at Radley were coming back to her and she starts to go off her meds so she can remember

She doesn’t have all the pieces together when she accuses Ezra in front of everyone of being AD, and no one believes her but finding out she is off her medication they decide to get her help and don’t think twice about her accusations

Jump forward a year and Wren goes back to Radley to take care of Mona But Wren doesn’t have the strongest will and Mona convinces him that they need her (same as the show)

Ezra and Aria are about to get married and be all happy so Ezra surprises her with a new house, the one Toby built

Aria is so excited but what she doesn’t realize is the under ground bunker he built, where all his AD stuff is and also would be a comfy place if say your wife finds what you have been up to and you have to keep her somewhere

Spencer goes to the brew and finds Wren there arguing with Ezra in hushed tones (about not killing Mona) she had no idea they knew each other

She confronts them and they make a stupid lie about Ezra spilling coffee on Wren

She asks Wren what he is doing in town and he just says business and tell her he has to leave but they should catch up soon (did I mention the bunker as enough room for two ladies to live comfortably though Wren still isn’t sure which, Spencer or Melissa or hell even Hanna)

Ezra starts acting off, he knows he can’t trust Mona and doesn’t know what she knows, which Aria tries to dismiss as pre wedding jitters but he keeps trying to push up a wedding that’s only two days away

Aria goes to the new house to take some pictures as reference for when she is furniture shopping and such, she goes out back to the tool shed, notices the ground is uneven and finds a secret door in the ground

She goes under and finds everything but what she doesn’t know is Wren is already down there and he hits her over the head, then calls Ezra and tells him they have a problem

Ezra planned to tell Aria everything about the book on their honeymoon and if she reacted badly was going to claim and accident happened where she goes missing but keep her in the bunker (he had practice making someone go missing) but now Aria was in the bunker and he couldn’t just let her out

He goes to the bunker where Aria is terrified and won’t go near him, he thinks she just needs time to cool down

He takes her phone and sends a text to everyone saying “we can’t deal with the wedding stress and everyone arguing, we decided to leave for our honeymoon and elope. I’m sorry and we love you all”

He figures that will keep everyone busy for awhile while he tries to convince Aria to get on board, reminding her how she betrayed her friends for him and how their love story would go down in literary history

In the mean time, the girls are hurt Aria left to get married without them but they understand, except for Spencer who feels like things don’t add up because she had spoken to Aria just a couple hours before and she was excited for the wedding and Aria had invited Spencer and the others to the new house to show them, only giving them the address and not telling them the surprise

The girls all disperse, Emily and Ali talking about how they need to get home to the girls and Hanna to see if she can refashion the bridesmaids dresses into something she can show to a client, though after they leave Spencer realizes Emily’s Fitbit fell off and sends her a text that she will hold onto it til they see each other again and put it in her pocket

Spencer still goes, curious because she recognizes the address and then realizes it is the house Toby built, and even more confused when she sees Wren coming from the backyard and doesn’t even realize Ezra coming up behind her with a needle knocking her out

Spencer wakes up in a cell across from Aria, her phone missing and Ezra & Wren are just standing there

They explain they didn’t want things to work out like this, and once they calm down it is very comfortable and nice in the make shift home they built down in the bunker and when things were settled they could all move away to a much bigger place so the girls would have more room (because they can never actually leave and be free now)

Ezra leaves they each with a book incase they get bored, which is his finished manuscript including the ending he intends to make happen

They jump to the end and read that Ezra plans to be the hero, and pin the entire thing on Spencer, who became AD as a way to keep the girls together after realizing how much she missed them when they came back for Charlotte’s trial and used Charlotte’s death, who she killed, to keep them in Rosewood

He planned to make it seem like Spencer followed them on their honeymoon, making one last use out of Melissa by having her getting on a plane as Spencer so they had her on the flight manifest, and tried to kill Ezra for taking Aria away while confessing she was AD and Ezra, in self defense, pushes her off the side of a cliff

Aria freaks out after reading it while Spencer continues to read through the book, looking for clues about how to get out

Meanwhile, the others grow concerned they haven’t heard from Aria, who should’ve landed and always texts after a flight or Spencer, who wasn’t at home when they checked

Mona shows up and tells them AD is back and is ready to end the game, for good and she knows at least one person helping is Wren but she doesn’t know who AD is yet

They realize at least Spencer was kidnapped and after Caleb can’t pin point her cell phone Emily remembers Spencer has the Fitbit and maybe they can track her with that (might have to bend reality) and Caleb is able to find a location, the house Toby built

The gang minus Mona make their way over, meanwhile Spencer and Aria are trying to break out, Aria tosses Spencer a bobby pin which Spencer can barely reach but manages to get it just before Ezra comes back

He asks how far they are in the book and what they think of it so far, he actually sounds genuine for their feedback

Realizing this is the only chance they might have, Aria tried to distract him by asking him questions about the book while Spencer quietly works on the lock and manages to open it

While Ezra is still facing Aria, Spencer uses her copy to knock him over the head though she knows he won’t be down for long so she opens Aria’s cage and they run not realizing they have no where to go

Above ground, the others get to the house and start to look around when Toby sees the shed and mentions he didn’t build a shed, and why would someone build a new shed before anything else

When they open the shed they see Wren inside who is starting to open the trap door who tries to make a run for it but Hanna manages to trip him and he hits his head on a rock

The guys work on tying him up while the girls look for Spencer, thinking Wren is AD and the bunker would be safe now and they come across Ezra who looks dazed and convinces them that AD kidnapped Aria and himself and that the girls have to get out of the bunker before AD comes back

He starts to lead them out when they run into Spencer and Aria who yell that he is AD, Ezra acts quickly and grabs Ali as a hostage while pulling out a knife

He tells them all to get back to the cells or Ali dies, then tells Ali this whole messes started with her so it should end with her

Behind him is the sound of a gun cocking, aimed right at his head, Mona says “actually this started with me, and I am going to be the one to finish it”

Ezra drops the knife and let’s go of Ali as the police come rushing in and Emily rushes forward to grab Ali

Ezra and Wren are taken into custody, where the both face charges of extortion, stalking, kidnapping, murder, building a creepy bunker without a permit and statutory rape

The girls all agree it’s time to finally leave Rosewood, for good

Forgive me if this sucks, I wrote this during my lunch break on my phone so there may be plot holes by the dozen and grammatical errors but I did this quickly

And I don’t get paid for it nor have years to plan it out but thats another story

I don’t really understand myself. Ever since the beginning of season 5, PLL has mostly been full of missed opportunities and good but later dropped storylines -  but still exactly that season has been the one that I’ve rewatched the most. Perhaps it is because it has so many hints of Alison being A and/or having the twin/Bethany being heavily involved in “that night” and the story altogether and Aria having some kind of mental disorder  (= things that would’ve been my favorite plot-endgames for this show). Girls were finally defending themselves against Alison, Paily was getting back together, Hanna was with Travis, we finally got some of Melissa’s backstory (even though I still think she should’ve been more involved, since she was so shady) and Mike and Mona had some quality-content. As disappointing as its result ended up being, the build-up for the Dollhouse was great. 

It is sad that many of these things were cut short: Paily broke up, the girls forgave Alison way too quickly and we were introduced to some mostly useless characters like Lesli, when they should’ve focused on other characters. Like I’ve told multiple times, I also deeply despise that Ezria got back together after everything he did to Aria and other girls. Aria really was showing some character-development especially at the end of season 4 and would’ve deserved to bloom and find herself far from Ezra. In all honesty, after rewatching this show many, many times and knowing where his character ends up, I wouldn’t have minded, if Caleb had stayed gone, either. Hanna deserved some time alone to get to know to herself again, especially after Alison’s return and properly show her how much her deeply nasty behavior affected her, and to eventually to get together with a nice guy who treated her right and shared her values - like Jordan. 

It is also sad that Spoby drifted far apart from each other on 5B (and even if they got back together, they went through an especially lot of crap during the last seasons, basically were romantically reunited because of Yvonne’s death, Toby was used and raped by Alex and Spoby didn’t even get a proper closure in the finale like the other “endgame”-couples).

Ezra Fitz, Lolita parallels, and a hero complex

I just wrote this up in response to an ask, but I wasn’t sure when, or if, I ever wrote this up before, so i decided to give it it’s own post.

 Ezra Fitz has a “type”, and that type was influenced by his first love, whom he lost at a young age.

This is one of the Lolita parallels. Humbert was locked in a fantasy of his “Nymphet” because his first love passed away at the same approximate age, and he’s been trying to replace her. (Let’s pretend for 2 seconds that’s not the worst bullshit ever.)

Ezra’s home is littered with book and his classroom littered with lessons, all dealing with the subject of a tragic romance. Ezra Fitz is obsessed with doomed love stories because he lived one.

I think Ezra may have suffered a terrible loss at a young age, and he couldn’t save her. Like it was an accident or something and he failed to keep her out of danger. So now, as ‘A’ or ‘A.D’ or Ezra, he keeps creating the same (similar) circumstances over and over again until he gets it right. Until he really feels like he’s the hero.

He’s got a hell of a hero complex. But it also helps that a lot of the things he sets up make for pretty good books.

I think he’s responsible for the dollhouse, and he’s responsible for Nicole’s disappearance, and a few of the other dangers the girls have faced. That’s why so many of their big events feel so staged. Because they were intended to make the girls feel like they were in danger, while they never were. Thus making the girls view him as a savior when he inevitably shows up to save the day.

He took a bullet for the girls on the rooftop, in the MOST staged scene of the first 4 seasons. Yes, he was shot, but it was calculated that whoever was chosen to shoot him would make a non fatal wound.

He showed up to rescue the girls from the dollhouse, but technically they had already rescued themselves. The guys were just there when they escaped. I think that they would not have shown up to rescue them so quickly if Ezra didn’t feel like the cops were getting too close to figuring out what’s going on. They would have been in that dollhouse longer if 1. The girls hadn’t begun an escape. and 2. The cops weren’t too close to the truth.

As far as Nicole goes, I think that this is closer to the effect he had hoped for with the dollhouse. different, obviously… but closer. This allowed him to do what he wanted with the dollhouse incident.

He is responsible for Nicole being taken, ensured her safety (as much as was possible while still being authentic), and ultimately was responsible for her release.

He built the perfect love story, of 2 kind and selfless people. Then he engineered the tragedy of her abduction. Then he waited and mourned. He planned to wait long enough for her disappearance to be major news, and so that he could play the part of a grieving lover during her absence. That’s why he was all Hemingway about drinking, and causing scenes in public. The portrait of a man truly destroyed by loss.  He drug his feet with the book to offer a compelling story of his suffering, and to buy him time to write the heroic ending.

His plan, before the girls returned, was to eventually go back and lead some kind of search and be there when she was found. Basically just like he was, but probably more involved in the search.

But then the girls came back, and then during his couple of days to cool off, Aria chose to write his freaking book and submit the pages. Which was definitely not the plan. How could he take back the pages submitted in his name… which were, by all accounts, actually very good? How could he say “I know I’ve written this great story, but I’d like to scrap that and have y’all just wait a bit longer for my angst to lift, and my girlfriend to come home. I’m gonna write a story about how I’m a modest hero, then.”

He couldn’t take back those pages, and he didn’t want to. He read the pages she wrote, and he knew that people would want to read that story. And he saw it , in his own words, as “an act of love” on Aria’s part. Though her eyes in that scene, suggest that she disagrees.

So, OK, new plan:

 1. Write a great love story with Aria, she must still love me… let’s fast track this relationship… I’ll lock her down with an engagement.

 2. Literally like a day after she agrees to marry me, I’m gonna arrange for Nicole to be released, that’ll be good press for this book, and it’s no longer hanging over our relationship. \

3. When Nicole comes home, I gotta pretend to be supportive, so that this doesn’t all look too suspicious. That’d be bad for me, and bad for book sales.

 4. But that’s kinda 2 birds with one stone, because while I’m at it I can be testing Aria for her loyalties.

Ezra is the one addicted to playing with peoples lives. He’s a mirror to Ali. Ali started our story of “That’s immortality, darlings.” but Ezra is the embodiment of it. Alison DiLaurentis (fetus)

Although Alison seemed to have it all, she was easily threatened by people who intimidate her. Her jealousy and need for power often got the best of her and caused her to act cruel and selfish; likewise her fearless nature had helped her to get revenge on her enemies numerous times. Alison was vindictive and cunning, she often used other people as tools in her manipulations - she was the snake behind an angel's face. Nobody told a lie better than Alison DiLaurentis. She had a way of using people's secrets against them She had kept lots of information about her life from her friends, while managing to acquire all of their secrets. Alison often held private knowledge of her friends over them to stay in control. She spun a web of lies so tangled that her friends were left to deal with the resentful "A" when she was on the run.

Alison DiLaurentis-Fields (I wonder why was this one in the second place at the list since it seems that all the names were written in order of apparition)

Since season 5b and onwards, Alison's personality has changed significantly. She has become a better person. She is now more reserved, and wants nothing more than to be happy. Though, if someone or something threatens her or her friends, she has no problem letting her "bitchy" side shine through.

Though Alison has become less threatening, she is NOT a pushover. She has been through so much, yet she is still so strong.

Vivian Darkbloom (ALi’s Alter Ego)

Is the alter ego of Alison DiLaurentis and later, Charlotte DiLaurentis. Alison used to dress up as Vivian to spy on "A", while Charlotte used the Vivian alias to escape from the police by going to France after killing Darren Wilden.

Vivian is first introduced when Caleb hacked the video to see her photo license. Hanna then remembers that she once saw Alison with dark hair in a hair salon. She recognized her voice and was surprised to see her with a wig, but Alison told her that it´s just her hobby - pretending to be someone else.

Aria and Spencer discovered that the day Alison disappeared, Vivian stayed in the Lost Woods Resort. Mona later remembered that she saw Alison/Vivian in a shop in Brookhaven spying on someone. She asked Alison who she was spying on, to which Alison told her to play along to the idea that they did not know each other. With Mona's unwavering desire to become another "Queen Bee", she kept Ali's secret, to which she received a card with Jenna's phone number in return. 

(Here’s the thing on this one... Alison created this Alter Ego to spy on A... if Mona was -A, and Mona was with her on the shop... Then who was Alison spying on?)

Holly Varjak (is a fake ID made by Alison DiLaurentis, although it was possibly planted by CeCe Drake)

When Aria and Hanna went to visit Cyrus in the hospital, the badly burned villain could only write the "Varjack" on a piece of paper. This is clearly a reference to "Breakfast at Tiffany's." When Ali was planning on skipping the country, she used Holly Varjak as the pseudonym on her fake passport after Ezra once compared her to Holly Golightly. This apparently catalyzed Ali's fascination with the persona. Could Varjack -- the male lead in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" -- be Ezra? That would be seriously effed up. Whoever Varjak is, he/she hired Cyrus to ruin Ali's alibi the night of “Mona's murder”, which means Varjak could easily be "A."  

(so, at this point we know -A was Charlotte, she didn’t kill Mona but she did kidnapped her).

Emma Thorwald

Emma Thorwald is a character in the 1954 movie called "Rear Window" or "Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window."

Basically a man witnesses his neighbor murder his wife (through his window) and he and his friends try to prove it. In the movie, Emma is the wife who is murdered.

In the Christmas episode 5x13 when Toby was in the wheelchair the night A attacked Hanna in Ali's attic, He tried getting her attention with his flashes... that was at the winter formal/fashion show, Hosted at Ali's.

In the video where Ali is writing all these names, the name Emma Thorwald is the only one aligned to the left

Why did Ali wrote all those names in the chalkboard?

Why is the name Alison DiLaurentis-Fields in second place and the other ones in order of apparition?

If the plot of "Rear Window" is about how a man witnesses his neighbor murder his wife, Why is Hanna playing the Emma Thornwald character and Toby the man witnessing?

I wrote a theory before about how Alison DiLaurentis is A.D. but i’m not talking specifically about the Ali we knew since the begining but that we have never seen the real face of Alison DiLaurentis and A.D. is the real owner trying to claim its name...

some part of my thoughts believe that Ashley and Hanna Marin play a huge part in this somehow...
