I don't know how to say this.. I got sad news. My external hard drive is broke, I had all my photos there.. I had all ONEWE Vlive saved there.. I had so many projects that is lost.. So all the photos I posted here is only here now..

It might be possible to save all the things BUT.. It seems to be very expensive.. How shall I do? Is it possible to connect to another device and save it and how do I do it? I would be very thankful if anyone can help me ^^

Seconding this, my external DVD drive (my case unfortunately doesn't allow for an internal and I'm too attached to how decked out mine is now to replace it) is one of the most useful gifts I've ever received. Truly owning my collection of movies/games/music is one of the greatest things possible in a world that seems to increasingly discourage ownership

you guys know you can get USB connectable CD, dvd, and blu-ray players right. and you can buy external hard drives with crazy amounts of space for an amount of money that would make the average person from 2009’s head explode bc of how cheap it is. and if you do this and get ripping software such as handbrake for CDs and DVDs and makeMKV for blurays you can both own a physical copy of whatever media you want and make it accessible to yourself no matter where you are. do you guys know this

ORICO External CD/DVD Drive Review - Still Good In 2023?

For the past week we have been testing out the ORICO U3-02 external optical drive. Yes i know RW drives might be really dated these days and in 2023 its very hard to find a Laptop that has one built in but if you have those old family videos fading away on DVD/RW disc then this drive might be the best option to choose.

First of all, with the Orico drive, its plug and play so you don't have to worry about adding any type of software. The U3-02 disc drive is compatible with both CD and DVD formats, as-well as you being able to slot in a classic massive SD card or even a micro SD card. The drive will rip CD'S and DVD's in under 6 Minutes with burning to disc being more swifter, burning films to disc in just a few minutes. 

The RW drive, runs silent, never getting too hot when watching movies on a PC, but the only thing we did notice is that the drive is not as durable as others on the market, so you will indeed need to place the optical drive into the box, if example, you are wanting to take it around with you while on the go. the trouble with me specifically using linux is that i am simultaneously:

very, very stubborn about how i want my pc to work

just good enough at tinkering that i can usually get something to work after a lot of effort

the result is that the os that was honestly pretty stable the whole time i was a newbie, now has something break about twice a month. it's not even my homebrew applications breaking, usually—more often it's some deprecated xorg program or anything to do with graphics.
