Let’s delve into the fascinating world of AGVs and uncover how these remarkable machines are transforming various industries.
What Are Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)?
Automated Guided Vehicles, commonly known as AGVs, are mobile robots used to transport materials around a facility. Unlike traditional forklifts or manual carts, AGVs operate autonomously, guided by various navigation systems. They are designed to follow pre-set paths or dynamic routes, performing tasks with precision and efficiency.
AGVs come in various shapes and sizes, each tailored to specific operational needs. Some are designed to carry heavy loads, while others are equipped for delicate or intricate tasks. The versatility of AGVs makes them an invaluable asset in diverse settings, from large-scale warehouses to high-tech manufacturing plants.
How AGVs Work
The core functionality of AGVs revolves around their navigation and control systems. There are several technologies that AGVs use to navigate their environment:
Magnetic Strips: Traditional AGVs often use magnetic strips embedded in the floor to guide their movement. These strips are aligned with the vehicle's sensors, directing it along a predetermined path.
Laser Guidance: More advanced AGVs use laser guidance systems to navigate. These AGVs rely on laser scanners to create a map of their environment, allowing them to detect obstacles and make real-time adjustments to their route.
Vision Systems: Some AGVs are equipped with cameras and computer vision systems. These systems enable the vehicle to recognize and interpret its surroundings, offering a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
Inertial Navigation: Inertial navigation systems use accelerometers and gyroscopes to track the AGV’s position and movement. This technology is particularly useful for AGVs operating in environments with changing conditions.

by Dennis Prager
On Sept. 21, The New York Times provided a perfect example of Israel Derangement Syndrome in a column written by Michael Walzer, a professor emeritus at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, titled "Israel's Pager Bombs Have No Place in a Just War."
As is well known, last week, pagers used by Hezbollah terrorists exploded, killing a handful of them and wounding hundreds more. Amazingly accurate, the exploding pagers killed very few noncombatants.
Hezbollah is the Shiite and Lebanese equivalent of the Gaza-based Sunni Hamas. Like Hamas, Hezbollah has one purpose: to kill as many Israelis as possible and eradicate the Jewish state. Hezbollah has fired more than 8,000 rockets into Israel in an attempt to kill as many Israeli civilians as possible. Tens of thousands of Israelis have fled their homes in northern Israel and have not returned in nearly a year.
That Israel is being attacked for killing Hezbollah terrorists is proof that, according to the vast array of Israel-haters -- the political, media and academic left, and Muslims in the Western world -- Israel is not allowed to defend itself. It should now be obvious that the current hatred of Israel is not a result of Israel's bombing of Gaza. When Israel targets Hezbollah terrorists -- and only Hezbollah terrorists -- it is equally condemned.
Which brings me to the Times column by Walzer.
Walzer writes: "The explosions on Tuesday and Wednesday were very likely war crimes -- terrorist attacks by a state that has consistently condemned terrorist attacks on its own citizens.
"Yes, the devices most probably were being used by Hezbollah operatives for military purposes. This might make them a legitimate target in the continuous cross-border battles between Israel and Hezbollah. But the attacks ... came when the operatives were not operating; they had not been mobilized and they were not militarily engaged. ... It is important for friends of Israel to say: This was not right."
According to Professor Walzer, terrorists can only be killed when they are "operating," "mobilized" or "militarily engaged." If they are not doing so, it is a "war crime" to kill them. Furthermore, the mere fact that these members of Hezbollah had those pagers -- devices the professor admits "probably were being used by Hezbollah operatives for military purposes" -- means these terrorists were "operating." That's why they had them: to plan and carry out operations against Israel.
That, dear reader, is derangement.

SCP: AGI
Code Name: The Blood Aphids
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: The surviving instances of SCP-AGI have been sent to Site-AA. They are contained within a 20x20 meter artificial environment with trees artificially grown to be biologically similar to the trees they were found in. The entire environment is sealed by explosive proof glass to prevent a containment breach. In the event a containment breach does happen, Foundation guards are to arm themselves with flamethrowers as it is the most effective weapon against SCP-AGI.
Description: SCP-AGI is an anomalous but ancient species of insects that greatly resemble body shape and sized of common Aphids. However, unlike Aphids SCP-AGI instances are carnivorous with an insatiable desire for blood. They are capable of flight, and luminescent yet can only be seen when in darkness and in large clumps. They normally sleep at daytime and only hunt at night. When they hunt, they find living organisms and web them up to feed on them without resistance.
Each SCP-AGI instance normally only drinks a single drop of blood, but the resulting bite leads to extreme irritation and injects a small amount of weak paralysis venom into the host. Naturally a single bite does nothing but causes a minor rash and some numbness in the host but nothing serious or even noticeable. However, thousands of bites from a swarm are more than enough to kill a human or put them an inch from death. They often web up their victims so they can keep it fresh and slowly eat the flesh later. How exactly they web up their victims is unknown.
SCP-AGI instances were discovered in 1994 when a logging crew that cut down a newly discovered species of trees suddenly disappeared. These trees were anomalous in that their sap much resembled the blood type O- of a human. Additionally, inside of these trees were hibernating SCP-AGI instances that regularly fed on the sap to stay alive. However, upon being cut the SCP-AGI instances were released and identified the humans as food, thus started feeding on every living organism in the area. Mobile Task Force Lamba-12 forces was quickly sent to cull the area as anti-logging activist, hikers, and bird watchers were regularly getting snatched and eaten.
Once the range of the "infected" area was confirmed they started burning the areas surrounded and had the fire go inward to surround the SCP-AGI swarm. This would help with the cover story of there being a forest fire caused by reckless hitchhikers who died in said fire. While the fire was blazing Foundation agents wearing Temperature Resistant Suits went into the yet to be burned areas and collected as many SCP-AGI instances as possible.
Unfortunately, upon entering the "infected" area, a single MTF Lambda-12 squad came across Persons of Interest: Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. They and a U.S. Forest Service agent were caught up in webbing cocoons created by SCP-AGI after nearly feeding on all their blood. Ironically it was because there were so many of them that SCP-AGI instances weren't able to drink all their blood, saving them from dying. Foundation medical staff disguised as Government Quarantine Group recovered them and sent them to a medical tent and presented them the cover story upon their recovery. However, Fox Molder was somehow able to recognize them as SCP Foundation agents and asked what they were going to do with the bugs.
The agent he confronted simply remained silent and refused to answer any more of his questions. He, the service agent, and Dana Scully were released into a hospital afterwards. The service agent was given Class G Amnestics, while Dana Scully wasn't given any amnestics as the Foundation knew Fox Mulder would just tell her everything later anyways. Thankfully, since she is a natural skeptic, it makes her more trustworthy to believe any cover story the Foundation makes. As such, the original proposal to have Fox Mulder be assigned a new partner that is a Foundation agent has been denied. It is essential that a skeptic who is as foolish as Dana Scully remain at the side of Fox Mulder who is inching closer to the truth every day.

I've been trying harder lately to not be paranoid and assume bad faith in others, so I have chosen to believe that people who post "eww, humans" might not consider how their sentiment impacts people who are already hurting. Frequently, I think they are posting it because of their own bad feelings and struggles, and don't think about how that would make their friends and community feel.
In fact, a lot of the "human bodies are bad" sentiment revolves around how human bodies are impractical (disabled bodies are negative), sex is nasty and genitals are weird (transitioned bodies are negative)...
So, if I may, here are things I think we need more of:
Human positivity, or at least tolerance, especially of the gross and yucky and boring parts
Furries/aliens/robots/etc who love their human partners (and the focus is NOT on how cute or sexy the nonhuman is for doing so). Relationships that are mutual and not a Connecticut Clark joke.
Humans from an alien but not negative perspective
Nonhumanity as not a better but simply alternative experience
and I guess probably this far in you're already thinking "most media is human-positive" but MCU dudes and anime boys are like pugs to me, they can't live.
Characters that live without prosthetics, or get feasible or life-impacting ones, rather than Cool Robot Parts; aesthetics (or sex factor.) should not justify or make up for a disability; a character that makes you think "gee, I wish they would cut my arm off!" is not disability representation. I have experienced people listing Junkrat as proof they could be attracted to me as a mobility aid user.
Humans will not destroy machinery, no robot uprising, but rather they maintain the mutual relationship they've always had (and less of using robots as a stand-in for autism representation. My God.)
Many human women were computers before machines were computers. I just think this is cool and not really explored :(
Top surgery scars that are not like cool perfectly-symmetrical explosions or jagged teeth. Get a tattoo if you want, but a lot of the time scars are raised and shiny, which I rarely see either.
I doubt anyone in the world enjoys their period, but they're frequently pointed to as "proof" that humans aren't worth being. If your periods make you lay down on the floor and want to kill yourself for a week, you seriously should see a doctor if you can. I didn't know until it was way too late that I had other options, because periods are too yucky to candidly discuss and no one told me it wasn't normal.
Testosterone gives you acne. Spironolactone makes you need to pee more. There's a lot of unexpected things like that, and they are not objectively gross or sexy; they're just things that happen, that deserve to be discussed.
Fursuit poodling (having uncovered skin in a partial fursuit). It's not gross, it doesn't 'break the magic'. Fursuiting is sweltering exhausting work, and real humans are inside them, and they deserve to be appreciated.
It can be really hurtful to blithely say that human genitals are disgusting, especially in front of people who may want to one day pursue affirmative surgery. If someone personally doesn't like dongs, I wish they would just say that. Jeez.
Nobody is "better" for having an aversion to human bodies for whatever reason. I understand personally that it can be isolating, especially if those reasons are trauma-related. But turning your sexual attractions into a matter of you being "better", or a clubhouse, is not really coping with it. Disgust is not a judgment of morals or quality. It's an emotion, and one that can be very hurtful to people who are already getting hurt.
Because nothing is Good or Bad. It just is what it is. Judging people's right to exist and be depicted, based on sex appeal or morality (or god forbid, purity, which I've seen more of recently, somehow completely ignoring the religious abuse connotations) is... messed up.
And to make this post not just me complaining, you can share your creations or ideas that you feel like apply, if you want :)

I spoke about the green sun earlier and how exposure to its light produces symptoms after three days. However, it's the plants that are the real danger. Luckily as non-combat personnel, I'm far in the backline, but I am in the world camp because of emergencies.
We found no signs of mammals or lizards in the area. I suspect it's because the plants wiped them out, and this may be a recent phenomenon. Part of my analysis is looking at the plants' means of parasitizing its victims - aka the unfortunate people who entered prior to the military and some military folk too.
Before I get into specific plants, let's talk about their generalities.
Most of the plants here are red; I'm assuming this aids in the absorption of the green sun's light. The mobile ones have a specialized vasculature system not unlike our blood vessels except in the plants case, it's like a hydraulic engine using differences in fluid pressure to generate explosively fast motion.
A number of plants have a rudimentary muscular system more meant for sustained motion. They are similar to slow-twitch muscles in animals. They don't seem to have nerve cells or any analogue. Neither do they seem intelligent. They just seem solely driven by the need to feed and reproduce.
I guess we can start with the trees. The trees seem to be a group of plants that have a symbiotic relationship with each other. Their trunks are all spaced apart approximately a third of a city block from each other and seem unwilling to grow closer to each other.
The trees have red leaves and have bark with a similar hardness to iron. It seems the excessive hardness is likely an evolutionary adaptation to the majority of insects flying in the air, which are pretty much horse-sized mosquitos. The mosquito's proboscis pierce through the bark and drink the sap within, and they make a quick escape before they get slapped to death by the vines hanging off the tree.
The vines that hang off the tree are dull gray and are thick as one's wrist. They're primarily called "the tentacles" at the base camp. These tentacles can move from tree to tree via the branches. A number of them are growing into the ground - which gets important later.
The ones that are in the air lash and entangle anything that is within reach, including the mosquitos. This is usually enough to slap them into the ground where it will wrap around it and grow tendrils into the insect to absorb their nutrients. It usually drags them towards the roots of the tree it is currently on, suggesting that it shares the nutrients with the tree.
In the case of animals like humans though, these secrete a neurotoxin that can cause swift paralyzation to skeletal muscle with the exception being the diaphragm. It wears off after several hours if the plant is not in contact with the victim. It too pulls the victim into a large underground chamber beneath the tree where it continues growing into them and treating them as soil to drain nutrients from. The few very dead victims that are recovered before the dissolving step, where the tree rains concentrated acid into the chamber, all show that the final cause of death is starvation. Judging by the nail growth at the time of death, they were kept alive between 1-2 months meaning the plant has some means to supply water and maybe nutrition, likely from the root system growing into them.
The vines are ambush predators. They grow underground and can hook together to increase their effective hunting range. Once it detects motion above it, its hydraulic-based locomotion kicks in and lashes and wraps around an appendage where the toxin quickly kicks in, and the vines drag the victim back underground for feeding. No wonder most of the non-plant things here have adapted to fly.
Having such a specialized neurotoxin and feeding method is practically proof that mammals existed here once. The question now is where did they all go?
Maybe we didn't explore far enough. It's a bit hard to go deeper when you're practically surrounded by murder forest.
I also have a bad feeling that this may not be evolution at work - and all this might be engineered instead.
