Edia licenses nine classic titles to Shinyuden for release on modern platforms, starting with Final Zone - Gematsu
Tumblr media
Edia has licensed nine titles to Shinyuden for release on modern platforms, starting with the release of Final Zone for Switch on January 17, followed shortly by PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, the companies announced.
The nine titles licensed out to Shinyuden are as follows:
Dino Land
Exile
Exile: Wicked Phenomenon
Final Zone
Gaudi: Barcelona no Kaze
GRIFFIN
Psycho Dream
Sol-Deace
Traysia
According to Edia, it licensed its owned titles to Shinyuden in order to expand its services to western markets where retro games have recently grown in popularity. Edia is also considering plans to sell reprints and remodeled versions of retro game titles from its catalog of 139 former Telenet Japan titles.

Does Sadler from XZR/Exile have a Ryu number? Apparently he meets a few historical figures.
Tumblr media
Sadler has a Ryu Number of 2.
(explanation below)
I'm mostly gonna leave it to John Szczepaniak at Hardcore Gaming 101 to explain what's going on with XZR/Exile, which could perhaps be described as "a lot". For this blog's purposes, the relevant question here is whether or not the guy above is actually Mikhail Gorbachev. He's apparently only known as "General Secretary", which was Gorbachev's title at the time of the game's release in 1988.
Tumblr media
It's a bit tough with PC-88 graphics, but it mostly seems to line up with Gorbachev's physical appearance, and while the shadows cover up his otherwise very distinctive birthmark, you can arguably kinda see bits of it on the left? Combined with the context of encountering him in the then-modern day Soviet Union, it's probably good enough.
At any rate, it's a better resemblance than the implied Ronald Reagan, in my opinion.

Path of Exile 2 for us so far. We spent more than 2 hours and more than 10 attempts to kill the Wolf Count, just because we saw the healthbar move!

Crown of Exile – Limited Access up to Chapter Ten
Tumblr media
With Christmas around the corner and progress steadily approaching the final two chapters of Crown of Exile, I've decided to make the current Patreon demo available to the public for a limited time.
Time start: 21 Dec 2024, 8AM GMT +2
Time end: 22 Dec 2024, 10AM GMT +2
Link to game.
How it works:
During this time, the demo up until Chapter Ten will be made available on the public game page on itch.io. It will be available only to be played in the browser – no downloads will be available, sorry!
You will be unable to use saves from the current public demo so you'll need to restart the game from the beginning. The demo will remain until the end time on 22 December 2024, afterwards, it will be removed and the old demo up to Chapter Eight will return to the game page.
Why are you doing this?
It's been a hot minute since the last public update and a lot has been written since then. Everyone who has followed me on Tumblr and itch.io have been incredibly supportive and without you, a lot of the early chapters wouldn't have made it online. This is a thank-you gift for Christmas and a way for me to gather feedback from the broader public outside my Patreon.
Please keep in mind that I've been working on new chapters, not edits, so nothing new has been added to the earlier chapters. This demo access will allow you to play Chapters Nine and Ten.
None of this would be possible without my incredibly generous Patrons who voted overwhelmingly in favour of allowing public access to the demo for a limited time.
Reblogs will be appreciated! 💖

I'm honestly so glad they introduced a new protagonist. Not just because Rook is a darling, but also because Inquisitor would have been a horrible choice for the story they wrote.

Happy PMD Red is on NSO day. Sadly I don't think King the Skitty and Muse the Cyndaquil will be returning to finish up their adventure regardless.

Chapter 5 - Part Two Release
Hello everyone... it's here. It's finally here! Chapter 5, pt. 2 is now out, and is 250k words of new content, meaning The Exile is now over 1 million words!
This release was... rough, to say the least, but it's all in the rear-view mirror now, thankfully. As some of you may know, this is the final chapter of the public demo. I'll make a post later on detailing what the future development of The Exile will be, but for now I just want to take in a deep breath and relax (as I fix what inevitable bugs pop up with release, that is).
Avg. Play length: 114k -> 135k Total Wordcount: 818k -> 1 mil
Some Notes:
You have to replay the entire game. Your old saves won't work. Please, for the love of the gods, do not use them. I know it's tedious to replay the entire demo sometimes, but the new release will not work properly otherwise.
I HIGHLY recommend saving at the beginning of when Esmerelda goes to visit Marcelle, or where the old demo ended. This is because when I do bug fixes (and I will have to do bug fixes), all saves that were on the file I updated cease to work properly. Saving at the scene with Esmerelda is the closest to the new content that you can save w/o having to worry about losing your save progress frequently near release. (Though I will update Chapter 5, pt. 1 at some point)
DO NOT spread info you got by code diving. Please and thank you! :)
Preferably send bugs + typos to the Discord. Otherwise, feel free to send them here! Also, keep an eye out for broken symbols next to choices! (It would help if you tell me what chapter it's in as well :))
There are two versions of The Exile on Dashingdon. The right one has [Current] next to it. The reason there are two is b/c for some reason or another, I couldn't get into my old account, and I couldn't reset the password, and it was just... a whole mess. So I couldn't delete the old demo when I uploaded the new one on my new account. Just keep this in mind if you're trying to look The Exile up right into a search engine as opposed to going through links on the Tumblr or Forum!
Play Chapter 5, Pt. 2!

characters taking a break from their mental-breakdown arcs in their solo titles to show up in crossover events is always big 'ok you're sick but who's gonna cover your shift?' energy :P

Every time I see someone admit they haven't finished Baldur's Gate yet, I think about the one 50~ yr old dude in my main co-op group who hasn't finished the game. Not because he got overwhelmed or got distracted or something else came up with life. But because the man B-lined straight for Moonrise towers, ignored all of Reithwin and Shar's Temple. Then interrupted the introductory scene with Ketheric by attacking him straight in the throneroom. When he followed Ketheric to the top of the tower and found out it was impossible to kill him, he went "Huh. This is a hard fight. Well this is probably the final boss, I'm pretty much done with the game then."
Then just fucking quit.
Hasn't picked up his solo campaign since.
