今回はスマホ写真でレポ。

大好きな写真家、星野道夫さんの作品展が京都で開催中なので行ってきました。僕にとって、氏の写真集 ARCTIC ODYSSEY はいまだにバイブル。氏は事故で逝去されましたが、今も数年毎にこのような機会でプリントを見ることができるのはありがたいです。

写真展の後は昭和レトロなお好み焼き屋さんでランチ。オッサン一人の行動が多いのでどうしてもレトロ食堂や町中華なんかに入りがち…オサレなカフェでプレートランチ…なんてなかなか敷居が高いです😓

I am having a photography exhibition at the Levi Heywood Memorial Library, 55 West Lynde St., Gardner, MA. The exhibition will run from March 1st until March 29, 2024.

Mary Oliver “Sometimes”

Mary Oliver’s instructions above have become the guiding principles for my photography. Photography has gained importance in my life since it has become a spiritual practice. I try to spend time in nature on a regular basis. It is a time for meditation and a time to clear my thoughts. With a quiet mind I wait to see what calls to me, what “shimmers”. Then I try to capture the subject in a personal, intimate, and emotional way. I am not interested in simply documenting the world, but trying to reveal something essential about myself and the world around me.

If I have been successful, some of these images will touch you, make you feel something of the beauty, astonishment, and wonder I felt during the time I spent creating them.

Each image is accompanied by a Haiku poem, written to express in a few simple words the connection and feelings that I experienced at the time I made the photograph.

I hope you enjoy the time you spend with these images and their invitation to journey inward, enjoy some serenity, and see the world with fresh eyes.

Back in orbit

I am back in orbit and hope to return soon. I had to close a cycle and pass some space oddities, but hopefully I will find the chance to be here more frequently again.

Missed you and miss you. Thanks for all the likes, reblogs and messages. You kept my blog alive and vivid. So grateful. Thanks a ton. Looking forward to dive into your imagination and inspiration again soon.

Another ‘non theme’ off piste post for Saturday

So… the photo that I bought at the MAMA exhibition in July arrived and it was signed

For anyone interested in the print itself, when it arrived I was surprised that it wasn’t on photographic paper so I went back and checked the ‘pink tape’ sign …

I’d noticed at the time that it said ‘Carbon Archival Prints’ but had no idea what it meant

I looked into it and it seems it’s a printing method which is only available from one photographic shop in north london. It’s a pretty specialist (and expensive) way of doing black and white prints but according the information I found it creates a far higher level of image permanence and helps give more emphasis to shadows and highlights in the photographs

So I learned something new too

I also love that is seems Evans puts so much thought and effort into all the things that he does 😊

'24.2.20 同時代ギャラリー、京都三条、四条河原町付近にて

今回の写真展、出した写真は全部で13枚。A３×3枚・A4×10枚。すべて過去にこのブログで掲載したものをピックアップしました。プリントしてみると、PCやスマホで見るイメージとはやはり違いますね。

初日は16:00ごろにギャラリーを出ました。帰り際、行きに出会ったヌコさんに挨拶して、奥行きっぽいの求めつつ一駅向こうまで撮り歩きます。

写真展の搬入・お客様とのお約束もありここ数日は三都物語をしているneko-no-otoでございます。でもね、ただ行って帰ってなんてつまんないじゃん。なので会場までをふらふらとお散歩でございます（早く行け）

そんな途中にであったコ（場所はいろいろご迷惑になるかもなのでナイショでゴメンなさい）
